She's a great Mass Lecture Professor and the class material is interesting. Coleen Reilly is a great Lab/Activity teacher too.
This woman's a lunatic! She would tell us stories of her having road rage and stuff like that.

Crazy lecture hours...attendance is taken and so are alot of notes. But overall pretty good teacher
Tests are unclear and opinionated! Test cover material NEVER covered in class. Technology is horrible.
She's crazy!!! She makes you buy a remote to take attendance in lecture. She tests on material not covered and questions are based on her personal opinion.
good lecturer, but there is stuff on the test that we have never even mentioned in class. i did my work, took notes, etc. and when i took the midterm, there were questions that i had never heard of. a lot were common sense though.
This class was very unclear. I did all my work, went to class and still did terrible. Her tests and finals are ridiculous and very unclear. She was very rude to our class and not helpful at all!!! I would never take a class with her again!
so unhelpful. her lecture was boring and she's not nice. avoid if possible
This chick is one big ****
Never helped. Never returned e-mails. When I approached her with questions, she couldn't answer them. Remotes cost too much and don't work. The lab book published by "her" is horrible, not in order of lectures.
Wellness is common sense. You shouldn't have too tough of a time in this class, do the work, pay attention in lecture, you should be fine. Don't even bother with notes.
Professor Weideman was the best lecturer I have ever attended, and just one of my favorite teachers by far. She is professional, organized, and very helpful. I enjoyed this class greatly and would encourage anyone and their brother to take it, and have her as a teacher. Fabulous.
After reading write-ups here about Weideman, I was leery of taking her class. However, she was great! If you attend class, take notes, and listen, you should do well. She is EXTREMELY helpful and equally eager to help her students put forth their best efforts if they themselves are willing to try.

Uncompassionate professor, does not understand her students. her class uses 4 different websites to glean any information and half of them don't work. a Health class that makes me ill to sit through
Class is boring, not hard at all. Use some common sense, show up, do what you have to do and you'll pass. She should really get rid of the stupid remotes though.
Okay, the class was incredibly easy because she demands very little of her students. Still, the Powerpoint lectures are 'want to run out' boring and the remote control answered questions get very tedious. Quite an unorganized class in terms of the multiple websites but worst of all I didn't learn anything useful. Still, an easy A.

VERY unorganized. 5 different websites for the class that all have the same information on them. you need to buy a book, a lab book, a remote, and remote activation. for all that money, i didn't learn a thing. half the time the remotes didn't work, they are pointless and just help the prof be lasy. but still, an easy A.
She is very easy although EXTREMELY unorganized. I suggest you follow your grades throughout the semester because she tends to make grade errors. Very nice woman though, understanding, and fun, just keep track of your grades. Nobody should ever get lower than a B in her class.
terrible prof. way too obsessed with the remotes. you wont learn a thing, but you'll get an A. most annoying human being on the planet.
She is un-organized, she forgot to mention the week before spring break, that we had an exam on the first day back :0 not cool. Class is very easy.
**** for sure. All these people calling this class ez i dont agree with. I had a hard time keeping up with all the grades but its probably because my lab and activity teacher was a hardass. Ya, i missed the midterm cause she failed to announce it, and i couldnt retake. o well, still passed.
just like anyother class if you keep up with the work and take the quizes you should do just fine!
Very unorganized. Very insecure. Tries to act cool around students so they like her and has serious mood swings. Dont take her if you can help it
I don't know what everyone is saying... for my final exam in health and wellness, we made food and ate it. Any class she teaches is super easy and you'll get an A, and sometimes she goes off subject but it's fine. They aren't hard at all, you just have to go and listen... which is apparently hard for some people to do.
the class was easy. make sure to check the quia website for what quiz is due, you think they go in order but they don't! go to the lab/activity days often, you might as well drop if you don't. the online quizzes are easy!
I didn't enjoy the lecture (spring '06), but that's just me. I thought it was disorganized to some degree. The book was great, and I would suggest to just go to all the classes and study a lot for the final and you'll do fine. The lab for this class was fun and easy.
Not helpful with computer problems.
Fun woman. Does her best to help. Go to class, pay attention. Obviously, actually working in a class and paying attention is too much for some to comprehend. Easy, interesting class.
Had her for lecture once a week. Some of the things she taught us were contradictory to what was in the textbooks, and the quizzes were based on the text. If you ever take this class, don't listen to her, the questions on the quizzes can all be found word for word in the textbook.
Very easy class. Make sure you go to lecture, this semister it was out of 50 points, and I think I missed 2 lectures and still got 59 points, lots of extra credit offered. Final is online.
She is a nice teacher. questions asked for clicker points are common sense. Manadatory class which sucks beacuse i fell asleep every class and still got an A...very easy class
Not the greatest class or teacher. She seemed annoyed whenever anyone would ask for help. Lectures were usually boring.
She's a nice person. As long as you show up to class and do most of the work you'll be fine. She likes people that make an effort.
Class was easy... didn't really like her. Answers to the weekly quizzes come straight from the book. Okay lecture. Was always annoyed when people asked for hep. Gives lots of extra credit.
This class is a serious joke. She is out of control. she has to be the most annoying person ever. she thinks she hilarious and shes not at all..... shes obsessed with the stupid remotes (that cost too much) and makes up the most rediculous questions as the class goes. shes stupid ad has no idea what shes talking about. SO annoying!!!!
She is so annoying. Her weekly quizes ask the stupidest questions. In the middle of class she went off on a tangent talking about how her pee turned pink after eating beets. don't tell me, go see doctor or something. My roomate and I call her Proffesser Umbridge.
wont respond to emails, quizzes wont tell you what you get wrong so its hard to know what you dont know. lectures are long and boring strongly advise talking another person for the lecture if possible
This class represents everything that is wrong with college at WMU. Students at a university are expected to think at a higher level yet every single assignment in this class is a "look it up in a book" then "regurgitate on paper." I haven't opened a single book but through common sense have scored a B average on the quizzes. Complete waste of time
Although the class appears hard, it's relatively easy. The professors always willing to help and really cares about her students. Despite the 200 students in my lecture alone, she still found time to see me and was able to answer all questions I had. She just gets a bad rap because there's so many students that don't take the time to ask for help.
Very easy class. No final exam. Go to class and get the participation points. The worksheets are pretty self-explanatory, and there are online quizzes every week. She will help you when you need it, so don't believe other stories.
Not very engaging.
Class seemed a little pointless at times, but I suppose I learned a few things. Was willing to talk to and help students who went to see her.
Poorly organized and pointless class. But if you stay on top of your work and do well on the quizzes its easy. My advice is to find a friend who will remind you when assignments are due because some are assigned last minute and are due at random times
I learned so much in this class.. about Carolyn's personal life. She has severe ADHD and is full of useless information. She rambles and has even slipped up with a racial slur in front of hundreds of kids. There is no getting out of this class if you want to graduate and sadly she is the only professor who teaches it. Good luck.
Go to your activity twice a week, go to the lecture every week, do all the homework, and take all the quizzes. This is an easy class, just do everything listed above and you will be fine.
She is very boring and tends to make half the lecture classes completely pointless.
This class is absolutely terrible! One of the most unorganized classes that I have taken. The work is not hard, mostly mind numbing. While in class Carol talks about her 60lbs. pit bull, her daughter that is an ex-smoker & has a 6lbs. Chihuahua, her divorce from a husband that drank and many other topics that should be left out of the classroom.
Weideman comes off as a pleasant person in class. She interacts with students during the lecture and has somewhat helpful presentations. However, when it came to all online coursework, she was very disorganized. She took weeks to put in grades and only occasionally responded to emails. I received an A in her class but with little help from her.
So disorganized. All I have to say
H&W is a busy work class. It is eminently stupid. You have to buy an expensive textbook which is never used. She is pretty disorganized, and the class teaches nutritional falsehoods. If you knowledgeable about anything, your intelligence will be insulted by attending the lecture. You will miss out on some busy work homework if you do not attend.
Awful professor
Most confussing professor I have ever had. At times she even confussed herself while explaining things. She is very unorganized and hard to follow during lectures. Her exams are more detailed than her lectures.
Overall this this professor managed to make an easy fun class boring and hard. She often confused herself when explaining things and made a 50 minute class feel like 2 hours. I didn't learn too much and much of the material on tests were things never covered in class. Without a doubt the worst professor I have encountered at WMU
This class was completely online. Very easy. Just do the work each week on time and youll get an A. I did most of it without even reading the text book. A lot of the responses are your own opinion. The biggest assignment is to do community service for a few hours. I never had a problem so idk how good she is at getting back to people but it's an easy class.
Okay first off, FYE is a waste of time, which is what I took with her. She is a really nice lady. She is bubbly and always has a smile on her face. However, she is all over the place. She is not organized, she will just throw stuff at you over and over again. Can be rather annoying too.
I have taken this class over the summer and I can honestly say that I have not learned anything. She is all over the place when it comes to lecturing and has a terrible time with forming full sentences. The semester was due to end on Friday and she still has exams and projects due after the end of the semester due to the lack of her being prepared.
Just the worst class. All busywork, Dr. Weideman is a disorganized mess, and she doesn't respond to her email in a timely manner. It's ridiculous. The final was online, and I couldn't access it for all of finals week. I emailed her on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and she didn't respond until Sunday, didn't offer me an extension. Absurd.
I had a 50 minute lecture with her, but it seemed like it was a never ending boring class. Be prepared to hate this class with a passion. By far, the worst professor I have ever had.
Lecture is so boring and doesn't give enough time to take notes. Pretty much teach yourself on the McGraw-Hill Connect. DO NOT BUY THE PHYSICAL BOOK! It's almost $150 and she gives you a link that you can buy it online for $90. Save yourself the $60.
I can honestly say that I have not learned anything this entire semester. She is so unorganized and all over the place when it comes to lecturing. Throughout the semester we were assigned multiple quizzes where the class average was roughly 60%. On top of that we had a group project that she failed to example half of what she was looking for.
Her online tests were realy confusing, and the book was really inaccurate and scattered. Class was boring. The online stuff was really annoying and time consuming. Overall a bad experience.
This class SHOULD be a blow off class. There are many assignments weekly including writing and online assignments. Stay on top of your homework and you'll be fine. Carol is very understanding so talk to her and she'll work with you. Her class is ultra relaxed all she wants in return is a little participation and respect and you'll enjoy this class.
The lab portion of the class is enough to cover all of the material in the course. The lecture is completely pointless and the professor moves way too fast and the tests questions do not apply to some of the material "covered" in class. Although the Dr. Weideman seems like a nice person, she clearly needs to improve the way she teaches.
This class is stupid and irrelevant to anything im doing with my life. She does not respond to emails or cares that the ridiculous amount of homework she gives out is confusing to find. I don't think she realizes that she has an email account or feels the need to email her students that are paying for her class.
Dr. Weideman... Her homework assignments are tedious and time consuming. A simple 2 credit course consumed way too much of my time and instead of creating her own quizzes on elearning, she required that every student purchased a semester of McGraw Connect. She is not organized and I find her grading to be subjective.
The class itself is easy, as long as you show up for in-class activity. Actually being able to find that activity online is nearly impossible. She's the type of rude teacher who's all about "You aren't dismissed until I tell you that you can leave." Wouldn't recommend her, but she's a mandatory teacher for all health activity classes.
Nice professor. I took this class online and emailed her with any questions and she got back to me in a reasonable amount of time. There is a lot of work involved with this course but if you do the work you will get an A no doubt.
The problem with this class is the setup. We have a quiz due every Monday BEFORE we actually learn about the topic in lecture. Yes it is an easy A but its also a very annoying one especially for only 2 credits. My activity is swimming and I was upset when I found the lecture was anything but. At least I know how to swim now.
Great class!!
Hard class!!
Easy, but lots of work
She is one of the nicest teachers that i have ever had. The course itself is a blow-off class even though the homework load is "heavy", in the sense that most of the assignments take mere minutes to complete. She is not a tough grader and she could care less if you attend class. i only do so to show respect for the teacher.
Great lectures but lots of homework.
I really enjoyed having her as a teacher. She is very caring and outgoing. We received tedious, busy work, but nothing was ever too hard or crazy.
She uses two online platforms to have you do homework. There is a lot of homework but it is simple. Each week she takes the overall grade from the two platforms and puts them in ELearning. This class is an easy A, the work is easy as long as you show that you understand what she wants and the quizzes are untimed and you can use other resources
Her test prep usually didn't cover a lot of what is on the test. We had a very low class average for test scores.
Took forever to grade, unclear instructions, her way or the highway
I took the class asynchronous and there were multiple assignments due about every two weeks. I thought I would learn more about healthy living but it just stressed me out more. She's also really good at responding to emails within 48 hours unless you're asking about your grade. Don't take this class if you already have a heavy course load.
Professor Weideman was very unprepared. We didn't receive the syllabus until two weeks into the semester, Go Quizzes contained multiple errors (4 to 5 Questions per). She criticized other professors regularly while exhibiting similar behaviors. This is unprofessional especially as a union rep. I strongly advise against taking her classes.
Incredibly unorganized course. Lots of homework for what is supposed to be an online 2-credit course. Super rude over email. Grades stuff super late. Harsh grader for no reason.
She is responsible for putting grades in for a PEGN course that was only 7 weeks long that she does not teach. Not only is it the Thursday of finals as I write this, I still don't have a single grade for that PEGN course and she won't respond to me or my classmates emails asking to put grades in so they can graduate (it was a snowboard class)
I found this professor difficult to work with due to very slow communication. It often took over two weeks to get responses to emails. Additionally, grades were rarely updated promptly in the gradebook, leaving students uncertain about their progress throughout the course. This lack of communication and transparency created unnecessary stress.
This prof. is not good at all. Grading is inconsistent and she counters herself. Lots of lengthy homework assignments, long readings, and long videos to watch. This class is so hard to get through with her and on top of paying for tuition and the textbook, YOU HAVE TO PAY HER TO ACCESS THE LMS SHE USES!!!! AVOID UNLESS YOU LIKE SPENDING MONEY!!!!!
