yummy
This prof. is very misleading. She pretends to be your friend (to those she likes and favors I should say). She nitpicks your accents on tests and assignments according to how much she likes you. Plays favorites. Seems nice, but get on her good side and kiss ass or else she will unknowingly give you a C- and you won't get to move on to 102!
Carol does'nt play favorites at all! She's a very open minded, helpful, and patient professor. Her tests are hard, but you know what? This is college, not high school anymore. If possible, take her!
She's really cute. Has high expectations, but is more than willing to help...so far.
She's a great prof. She doesn't play favorites! She expects us to be adults. She very willing to help and explain things. I would real encourage you to take her. Elle est très intéressante.
Carol is a great prof! This is my first French class and I have already learned a lot. She integrates fun activites into the class and makes learning another language fun. She doesn't play favorites! I would definitely recommend her to other students.
Prof Wilson is excellent. She truly is there to make sure all of her students are learning and meeting their full potential in class. She is willing to help anytime and it's a pleasure to be in her class.
She is a wonderful professor! I have enjoyed every class thus far. She does a wonderful job of explaining things out for us. I took French in high school and this is more fun and I have learned more! Take her...she is awesome!
Carol is extremely nice and very willing to help if you ever need it. She is a little pickey about accents but just because she doesn't want you to make a mistake when it really counts. Take her if it is at all possible.
she is an AMAZING professor!! she is patient if you've never taken French and she talks so you can understand her. she is nice and funny and all around cool! she even dresses really cute 0:]
Great Prof., very helpful and always willing to go the extra mile. She is a pretty easy test grader but makes sure you learn the material.
Awesome Professor! She adds a lot of interesting tidbits and facts to French that keeps the class from getting boring. Extremely nice and willing to go the extra mile, but don't expect an easy A. Definatly take Carol, she rocks!
I like how Carol doesn't make me feel rushed into learning everything about the foreign language in one semester. Carol won't move on until she knows that everyone comprehends at least somewhat of what we are learning. She brings her guitar to class and has us sing along with her and makes powerpoint presentations that explain things so clearly.
She seriously rocks as a professor. I had her for 101 also and had straight A's. She makes everything so easy to understand and also makes it interesting. She is a very understanding person and has an amazing personality. I'll be sad when the time comes that I have to take a different prof :(
She was very aproachable and moved trough material a a good pace.
Teaches straight from the book, and that gets annoying at times. She is really nice and approachable, but if you want more organization and more than just reading through book exercies, maybe not the best.
She is great. Carol is very helpful and understanding, she is a teacher who knows that life can throw you a monkey wrench. And is very willing to help you out and is real easy to talk to.
I used to like French, but that has changed. This prof teaches directly from the horrible book and doesn't even check you wbk exercises..then she expects you to know everything. Don't ask her questions bc she takes it personal. Also makes rude comments like you shouldn't be in the class if you haven't had many years in high school. Watch out
Amazing prof. Very helpful and understanding. Tests are a little hard, but that is to be expected in any language class. Makes coming to class fun, I learned so much.
Don't listen to teh bad reviews. I have had Mme Wilson for the last three semesters, and she rocks! Very interested in the progress of her students, adn unlike other professors, loves getting input from her students and makes herself available practically 24/7.
Although there are a lot of assignments, they usually don't require THAT much time and are usually necessary if you really want to learn the language. If you keep up with the homework and actually WANT to learn this class is a breeze. She is awesome and one of the most helpful professors I've met. Fun fun class!
She is the greatest professor of all time. People with bad reviews don't know what they are talking about. They probably just didn't try. I ended up Carol is the most caring and understanding professor out there. She teaches in a way that you can understand. EASY A!!!
Great prof! Willing to help students at any time with any problems. Great mentor and her love of the language is passed on to the class. Sometimes get off-topic, but what class doesn't? Fun classes and a great person to learn from. Cares about students, their needs and wants all to succeed. Recommended. FYI-effort required in a foreign language.
LOVE HER! I had her for two semesters, and she is amazing. Always willing to help, inside or outside of class. Really gets to know her students and cares about them. She is so passionate about French and teaching it. Highly recommend her.
I loved her so much, my second sem. i transfered out of my class into hers again. she is AMAZING. i love her so much. she's helpful and cares. she's very understanding and will help you even if you're not in her class anymore
I love madame carol! she makes french a lot more fun!!!
she is a blast! loved her class and i would highly recommend it.
The absolute best french teacher, ever. Take her if you can!
I LOVE Prof Wilson! She is super nice and willing to help you out whenever you ask. She makes class fun and begins the day with youtube! I recommend taking her if you have the chance...I know I will if I have the opportunity!
She makes class so much fun! She is always willing to help, and there are lots of assignments which are not too hard, so a good grade is pretty easy to attain as long as you go to class and do the work. We used the book a lot, and did one really fun project with i-movie! This class is worth waking up for in the morning.
Super nice and funny. really wants students to understand the french language and culture. tries to make class fun. really helpful and wants you to succeed. lots of assignments, but as long as you do them you will get a good grade.
I don't recall learning 1 thing this semester. We'd get into class and watch youtube videos that she thought were cool. She decided to do that for 3 weeks or so and then cram in a bunch of assignments at the end of the semester. It was horrible. She should teach in France. Constantly comparing us to French students...they are better students.
Prof. Wilson is by far one of the best profs on campus! She is immensely helpful, open minded and objective, and teaches in a variety of ways and doesn't do just lecture all the time. I learned more in one semester with her than I have 3 yrs of French classes. She also understands the culture and incorporates that into class discussions. Great!!
Attendence is mandatory. I did well in both FRE 101 and 102 but when I got to her class I was completely lost. She goes pretty fast, so be prepared to listen carefully! When I asked for clarification she often got frustrated.
Prof. Wilson's class was fairly easy. She would always clarify in English if you asked. We spent a lot of time on culture and watching youtube videos at the beginning of class. I feel like I learned a lot about France, but I don't know how prepared I am for French 201. She's giving us a take home exam because we didn't finish all the material.
way too many group projects all crammed into the end of the semester. the fairy tale project would have been a lot easier had we started it at the beginning of the semester instead of towards the end. only take her if you're not taking any other classes, because there's a ton of work
Best professor at Grand Valley! Helpful, she's knows her stuff backward and forward. Brings life into class. Take her! You will not regret it!
Prof. Wilson was easy and nice. She gave alot of work so if you get behind on that or don't understand it, that's where it gets hard. People with prior knowledge of french will be fine.
Professor Wilson is an amazing teacher, and is always very helpful. She is patient with her students and always seems interested in us in and out of class
Prof. Wilson is really nice! There's not too much homework, and the class is not difficult as long has you pay attention.
She was really nice, but I felt like I didn't learn anything. I'm afraid to go into 201 because I feel unprepared.
I felt like I learned absolutely nothing in this class! I took three years of French before, and I left the class feeling as though I knew less than I did before. Nice lady, I just didn't learn a lot.
I came into this french 1 class with the history of passing french 1 and 2 at community college.. it was really difficult, but she is amazingly helpful and will answer any question to help you stay on track with what they're working on in class. excellent teacher, make it a point to take her if you're taking french. :)
She's so much fun! She shows you all sorts of funny french youtube videos. Class isn't too difficult, and her accent is pretty good.
Speaks no english whatsoever
I love her! She is an amazing teacher, she does talk in french constantly, but if oyu dont understand she is very willing to speak in english. She makes class super fun. Don't miss lecture, she does assign homework, but it's easy. She posts everything on blackboard. Definitely recommmend her!!
Love her! She's SO helpful in and out of class. She's extremely likable and always finds ways to make class fun/interesting. Take good notes, always attend class, and study and you'll do fine.
Great prof! She speaks French the whole time but is willing to explain things in English. You have to attend class or you'll be confused.
Great professor! She puts a lot of effort into helping students understand. Since she usually only speaks in French in class, students can pick p the language much more quickly if they put in the necessary effort and don't slack off.
I loved Wilson, she is very knowledgeable about french culture and language. Class is fun and filled with hands on learning experiences, sometimes she can be a hard grader but overall wonderful class.
I love Prof Wilson. She is really understanding and energetic. She conducts class in French but is willing to slow down and translate.
Professor Wilson is good! I recommend her for beginnners - I didn't know any French at all when I started but I have learned a ton. She's not the easiest, but you will gain a lot of French. Be ready to study and work hard, but it will pay off.
Prof. Wilson is great! She always showed us funny videos in class. She's a pretty tough grader, so you'll have to work hard, but I learned a LOT in this class and I am definitely prepared for 201. Take her!
So far she is one of my top 3 favorite teachers. She is so nice and she really helps out when it is needed.
She is a nice person, but I feel like she doesn't really teach. I feel like I did most of the learning of vocab myself
Class is conducted almost entirely in French, which will leave you very confused throughout the semester. Study hard, she becomes quite agitated when the class seems unprepared. Most of your learning will be done at home. Always gives interesting previews to French culture (music/film). Quite flexible on assignments and exams, but don't slack off.
She's amazing! Animated and very friendly. She expects you to work, though, so don't be hoping for an easy A.
I felt as though she expected people to know the basic rules of the French language. That'd be fine, if this weren't French 101. I got snapped at the second week for not knowing vowels get nasalized if an n or m is after them. Unclear when answering questions, and generally uncooperative and inattentive to students' needs.
She started out as a great prof but she is the most inconsistent grader I have ever had! This class was all review for me, but yet I had to push myself hard just to get a low B. She took forever to grade, despite there being a small class, and seemingly docked points because she felt like it. Very unhappy.
Pr. Wilson is one of the most useless professors I have ever had. She is very unprofessional and actually made me think of changing my major to something else, that is how much her class was pointless. If you have the choice take any, and I mean ANY other French teacher!!
Apparently she thought we all should understand French completely, so that's all she taught in, even though they start that in the 300 levels. The class is more like a lecture, in French. She doesn't do any handouts to help us learn the material. She lectures on it and expects us to understand it completely. Very tough grader. Ugh
Honestly the worst professor I've ever had. The ONLY good thing about her class is the videos on culture. Otherwise, don't plan on being taught anything and be sure to be completely surprised on your exams since she doesn't help narrow it down. I received a B+, THANKFULLY, but I would NEVER take her, ever again.
Prof Wilson is a nice person, but is not a good teacher. Class was very disorganized, she didn't stick to the syllabus, and she used a lot of unfamiliar vocabulary that she didn't want to explain. She doesn't respond well to questions in class. For a conversation class, we spent VERY little time conversing. Try going to her office hours for help.
Personally, I loved her. Great cultural references and great examples when explaining the dynamics of the language. Highly recommended.
She was an okay professor. She made the cultural section very interesting but kind of skimmed over a lot of grammar in the book which made the tests kind of difficult. She isn't fantastic with feedback and returning papers, but she doesn't grade too harshly.
I personally find her to be a terrible professor. I don't think she's cut out to be a professor. She's terrible with getting back grades and responding to emails. Her class is a very long boring lecture and I found myself looking at the clock every few minutes just praying for it to be over. She offers no worksheets and is a very tough grader.
She is not a good professor at all. Wilson does not teach, bad at responding to emails and putting grades on blackboard. Her study guides look nothing like the test. Class with her is a waste of time.
Professor Wilson teaches an emmersive course, meaning she does not want to speak any English the entire class unless more than ten people look lost (which is often). She is not a French native, but from Chicago, and can be hard to understand. Her grading isn't ridiculous, but not being able to uderstand her instructions can be very crippling.
If you want to take French but not actually learn a whole bunch and just sit and hangout all day then take Professor Wilson. She is super chill and basically we just sat in class and did little worksheets everyday. She is super nice and easy tot talk too. The class and her exams/test were super easy.
Terrible prof! She speaks in French the entire time without concern if the students are following along. She gives both, instructions & explanations, in French. Wilson does not respond to emails & provides no explanation as to why. She calls students to answer questions, but will not help you if you're struggling to answer it, she just stares.
She believes that the best way to teach someone who has never spoken a lick of french before is to teach the class entirely in french and call students out to answer questions. The only reason I passed is cause she tells you exactly what is on the test the class period prior.
Wilson does teach in an immersive style, as most foreign language teachers do. Although many raters have said that she does not help you if you can't understand , that was not my experience. If the class could not understand something, she explained in English. But communicating with her face to face can be difficult and her grading is severe.
She is a great professor! She speaks mostly in French to help immerse students in the material but will speak English for clarification if asked. Always willing to help and explain. Provides students with exactly what will be on the test beforehand. She never responds to emails though, which is aggravating. Very tough grader so be ready to work.
She's a great professor but you have to show up to get credit. Make sure you have the book and bring it to class every day. There are a lot of small, in class group things so be prepared to talk to your peers. Tests aren't hard if you study and follow the study guide. She's really nice when you talk to her one-on-one.
Professor Wilson will hold your hand through the semester. All that is required of you is to make all the corrections in the workbook.
I would recommend Prof. Wilson for French 101 and 102. Her exams are not cumulative, she is always there to help, she gives a lot of interesting cultural information about France and French speaking countries, she encourages study abroad and will write you a recommendation if you so desire! She inspired me to set the goal of fluency! Take her class
She is so, so, so kind and extremely helpful! :) She really does care for her students and makes it clear that, while she is your professor, she is also there for you. She primarily speaks in French, even in 101, which can be frustrating at first, but after a couple of weeks, you'll understand almost everything she is saying! She is wonderful.
Her classes are not easy, but she is more than willing to provide extra help to students who ask. Her lectures can be pretty tough, but she also is wiling to slow down to clarify anything that needs to be explained. Keep in mind, all the lectures are in French so you need to pay extra attention to the exercises in the book and the homework.
Carol is such a sweet prof and she is very interested in French and their culture. This made me more interested and the class and I appreciated how tough she is on forcing you to speak in the language because it really does help you learn better.
She is super nice however never really communicated about grades and putting them in blackboard. She never updated a few assignments she gave me a zero for in blackboard and never put in my extra credit and then submitted my final grade. Pretty upset about it. Wish she was more organized.
Prof Wilson is a super nice lady but her teaching skills could use work. The textbook is basically just a bunch of activities to do and she expects us to already know what words mean and how to conjugate verbs. 101 is the basic introductory class where most kids don't know French coming into it. I think she expects a little too much out of us.
I love Prof. Wilson, I'm in her class right now and will be taking FRE102 next semester. She is interactive, fun and genuinely cares about the students. It's a little overwhelming at first because she speaks in all french, but it is so helpful and really boosts the understanding of the language. She's very flexible and truly loves the culture.
Professor Wilson is the best French professor I've had so far. She speaks mostly in French, but it isn't too overwhelming because she will give explanations in English if you ask for them. Her grading isn't harsh at all, and as long as you put in effort and study a bit outside of class your grade will reflect it. Also, our final was take-home!
I had many issues in this class beginning with zero background in French, which is why I took 101. The class is super intimidating due to the fact that the majority of it is taught in complete french, even the homework instructions and blackboard page. There was no support for students who were struggling with the language and falling behind.
Shes very sweet and very good at keeping class interesting. You have to buy the book.
Do not take French with this prof, she does not grade assignments in a timely manner (takes months) and only gives a couple days notice before a test. Poor professionalism.
Class wasn't too hard, as long as you attend class. She cares about how her students are doing in learning the language and wants to help. She does take a while to grade assignments, but it doesn't make much of a difference.
I'm bad at French but managed this class. Beware that getting any grades back takes a long time (making it hard to know what your score for the class is). Make sure you come to class! Take home final and you can watch a French movie each chapter for extra credit points. Very nice lady.
This class very much intimidated me, but Carol made the atmosphere positive, and she presented the material in super accessible and helpful ways. Very responsive to student feedback, encourages participation. She really cares about your knowledge of French language and culture. Also, the final was a take-home exam, which was awesome.
Madame is amazing!! She truly wants each student to succeed in class. She will correct you in order to make you better. The only bad thing is that she speaks mainly in french the whole class period, so if you do not know much french to begin with, then good luck. You have homework every night to prepare for the next class period but it is not hard!
She cares but other than that her class was not worth it for me. I took this class to learn French and I feel like I didn't learn how to speak French at all. At the very end of the semester she put in a grade as a zero, although on the paper she handed back to me I had 98%. It was supposed to bring my grade up to an A but instead, it dropped to a B
J'adore Madame Wilson. She was incredibly understanding when I was going through a really tough time in my personal life and we have a real connection now. Her class was a breeze for me, I loved every day of it (I might be biased bc I'm a french major now). She is wonderful.
Carol is wonderful. She is so understanding when it comes to life interfering with school. She assigns a lot of assignments, but it helps your grade when they are pretty simple. She gives clear study guides for all of her exams. Best thing is that for when i had her for 102 and 201, she made the final a take home and we watched a movie on exam day
Professor Wilson can be hard to relate to and she isn't the greatest professor in the world, but her class was pretty easy to pass and I think she's good at teaching.
Doesn't always teach the necessary content for tests. The way that assignments is weighted can dramatically change your grade with one new asssignment. Takes a long time to grade anything, so you won't know what your grade will be until the end of the semester. Incredibly nice professor, but I wasn't a fan of the way she taught the class.
She was so wonderful this semester. She had a really rough go of it and still recognized and appreciated that we had one too. Very flexible, understanding, and overall amazing.
She is very kind and is really invested in making sure her students understand the material. You do get credit for attendance and there is quite a bit of preparing before class. However, it is a language course and the extra practice really helps in the long run.
Mme was wonderful. I was nervous to be placed into 102 at first, and it was an adjustment with Mme speaking almost entirely in French. However, as long as you complete the work outside of class and get the recommended practice in, it's not difficult to succeed. All tests were take home, and assignments could be redone for a better grade.
Madame is EXTREMELY understanding when it comes to late assignments and having to miss class. Never got any points taken off for late work and she would let me attend class through Zoom when I was experiencing covid symptoms and couldnt be on campus. All tests and exams are take home and exactly like the content covered in class.
Prof. Wilson is such a lovely lady and you can't help but genuinely hope the best for her. The fact that it's a beginning French course at a collegiate level automatically makes it difficult, but she made the transition so much more comfortable. I learned more in 1 semester of her French class than I did with 3 years of high school Spanish.
If you dont know any french before going into this class, Good Luck! The class starts at a very fast pace and you dont go over anything more then once.
Prof Wilson was an amazing professor! She used an "ungrading" system that really helped with class quizzes. Her lectures were super interesting and she always encourages participation so get ready to speak! The activities we did were super fun and actually useful! She gives great feedback as well. I would 10/10 reccommend.
Madame Wilson is AMAZING!!! She is the reason I feel so comfortable taking such an intimidating language. She makes everyone feel confident and comfortable! Love her!!!
i have mixed opinions on this prof. on one hand, she was super caring and understanding of our lives outside of french class. that said, the class felt a bit unorganized and it was hard to retain what she was teaching. also it took her awhile to grade homework (sometimes over a month), which makes learning a language difficult
She's really helpful and a great person to have teaching. The only thing I would comment on is her timing with grading. We do a lot of work in her class and often times that work goes ungraded for a long time, as well as tests. Over all she is a great and will get you excited about French language!
Prof Carol was an amazing professor! She's super sweet, kind, and funny. The class was mostly in-person lectures, lots of talking in French with your table partner(s), and a couple fun projects. She speaks in French for a majority of the class but she is always quick to help if you don't understand.
She was great! My French skills were very rusty coming in since I last studied it in high school. But, the way Professor Tiesma taught it came back naturally (of course with practice!) As long as you attend every class and study the materials you will do great on the IPAs and homework. She does take a while to grade though! Will take her again.
If you can do not to have to take her course don't. She's scatter brained, passive aggressive, has poor time management, and her assignment are unnecessary that don't contribute to you learning French. Her modules are long and time consuming. She is a poor explainer and teaches French as if you already know it. She makes you switch seats like kids
I'm just frustrated with this class. To put it simply, all we do is partner work when none of us barely know French so it feels like we're not learning anything. Plus, the modules are way too fast to take notes properly. I love her as a professor, she's very kind and caring, but I just don't like the way this course runs. Hope to see it change.
Professor Wilson's class was very difficult and she moves at a quick pace. Attendance is graded and also if you miss class for just a day you will be very confused. She mainly gives out paper assignments. The exams are all written and very hard, however after she grades them you have time in class to try to fix your mistakes for a better score.
Modules are long and unnecessary. She doesn't manage her class time well and keeps you over time. Spring assignments on you. She doesn't explain things then gets mad at you. She doesn't use paper homework and assigns homework before she teaches the lecture on the homework. She doesn't respond to emails on time if at all. She's a terrible professor.
Prof Carol takes long to grade along time to grade things. She doesn't tell you have a quiz until a day before she and what she tells you won't be on the exam. She goes on tangents about random things and her personal life. She gave us a group project 4 days before a final. She should only teach French 101 bc you can recover from her teaching it.
Not her assigning a final GROUP project 4 days before the final exam, then made us present on final exam day, AND still gave us a paper exam on the same day with content she barely taught. Girl.
Half of the stuff on the final wasn't even on the study guide she gave us. She uses her time in class poorly. I wish to see her teaching improve because she's a sweet lady, just a little passive agressive at times.
CEO of assigning busy work. What do you mean she assigned six things in just one week? Also, she doesn't even teach the language barely!
Do not take her for French. She wants you to prioritize French over other classes; she takes months to grade it at the end of the semester, and she still hasn't put in any grades from ages ago. Takes a long time to email you back. Very disorganized, loses your assignments, puts in 0 for assignments she can't see. and is very passively aggressive.
Doesn't teach the material and still expects you to know it and do well. Not accessible outside of class at all. Changed the course style midway through. Simply an exhausting class to be in.
Do not take this class. She rushes through everything and just expects you to know everything. Would take a different teacher.
I don't even know what to say besides take someone else. I have learned nothing.
I don't take her French course if you can avoid it. Pop quizzes poor time management passive aggressive and trauma dumping. Don't take French at all but especially not with her
We don't learn anything in her class, she literally just flips through slides, her blackboard is a mess, and gives useless time assignments that consume all your time, she gets mad when you don't know what she didn't teach. She doesn't actually teach just rambles on and goes on unnecessary tangents. We don't learn French in her class at all.
She assigned 4 assignments before break then another 2 assignments with a quiz. She will assign lots of homework that doesn't even teach you French. Don't take her class if you have the option. What she says to study is not on the quiz. She assigns but she doesn't teach.
She's not good with technology but she insists on using it.
Avoid her if you can her class sucks the life out of you. She's an emotional person and incompetent at her job. I have learned nothing in her class. I do homework for grades now not to learn. She's not gonna teach you French but things around it. Just teach yourself or take professor collignon or calliaud over her save the time.
She is incompetent. When I first had her as a teacher she was going through a lot, so I understood her being a mess. But two years later she is still the same mess. She is unhelpful and petty. She knows french but is not good at teaching it. She has no in class notes or any sort of guidance.
She's not very nice. Petty. Doesn't know how to teach. I have learned absolutely zero French. She just assigned 3 different final exams. I'm so done get me out of her class now!
Queen of busy work. Will assign the stupidest assignments and get mad when you tell her that assignments are working. Doesn't teach just flips through slides. She's so emotional gets mad even we don't switch seats. She waste so much class time and even gets annoyed when your phone is out not even using it. Goes on unnecessary tangents.
Don't take her it will add so much stress to your life. She sucks as a professor. She's unorganized and extra. 0/10 please don't take her.
Classes are basically just the students going through a workbook together. I wouldn't say that the material on the test is always close to what we actually explicitly learn in class. Contrary to other ratings, I have learned quite a bit in this course, but I do agree that it could use more focus.
Most classes are duos she works through the book with your partner. She doesn't teach. You have to buy a $60 dollar book that we only use half of it if that. She doesn't teach so I haven't learn much. You actively have to study yourself. The bulk of your learning will be done through your work book or partner but not her.
Much of the material she teaches is from the slides which is actually from the books. She doesn't explain her homework assignments well.Contrary to the positive reviews she gets she not really an ineffective teacher. One time a student said the right answer and she called her out in front of the class even though her answer was right.
Her blackboard is like the equivalent to a person have 345 tabs open on a laptop it's so hard to find what you need in her course. Every assignment has their own section instead of the their being an assignment group.
Idk what that other review was talking about but all I know about French from this professor is that her son had mental issues, her other son hates her & doesn't talk to her, she had cancer, & she has thyroid. Tell me why a student should know this? We shouldn't! This is French not therapy. She trauma dumps not teaches that review is skewed a bit
If she likes you then you will be respected if she doesn't then she'll be passive aggressive. She springs things on you. She sprung this unnecessary group project poem, that we have memorize 8 things in one week plus study the written exam. She has only told us about the poem but never said how detail it would be until now
Her lecture or class is literally her going word for word from a book then we have partners. We sometimes get to play cool games like blooklet and sometimes we will have class on zoom. You can't be on your phone but you can zone out with your partner in her class. She's not hard she's just a lot.
She has too much homework she doesn't think if it's feasible for students to do. She just assigns so many bite sized to full homework. If you have her just make sure it's your last class or your progress will be impeded. She gets made when French isn't your focus I count the minutes until I'm outta her class I don't even know what to say.
While I am writing this, half of the grades aren't in, semester ends in a week. All our classes ever had going on was listening to audios in French, with vocab we would not go over, then she would ask what we heard? Expect 4-5 homework assignments a week, and good luck finding it on BlackBoard! She is nice but AWFUL at teaching and organization.
She's only nice to some but to others she's a nasty person. Blackboard is a mess. The work we do is stupid and the workload. She's human but there is only so much niceness you can give person before it hinders their growth. She needs a break to fix her teaching style and just rest her body/mind or to retire.
She grades stuff retrospectively and she doesn't answer your emails. She's a mess. She's so annoying and emo. She needs to take a hiatus or something.
SHE DOESN'T TEACH! Class consists of reading from the textbook and listening to audios. Her homework doesn't reflect the content well. Seems like she just pulls it from random websites. We have an oral and written final with a memorization of a poem. Girl, just what! Pick one…!
She accused the entire class of using AI with not much proof. She is passive agressive and doesn't answer any emails. Doesn't grade the work she assigns. Randomly told us about the heavy exam with less than a week of preparation. She is a nice person but she is insanely unorganized and expects way too much from a low level French class.
She's a nice person but doesn't organize her class well. We were not aware of what was due for the week because her blackboard was so unorganized. She is very accusative of people using AI with no proof. She gave us a heavy final with written and oral components, this would be fine in normal circumstances but she told us a week before finals.
She doesn't teach and she expects so much from her student. She just assigned so much for the final exam. Oral exam with a poem, oral exam with a partner to memorize 4 scenarios, and written exam. She doesn't look inward to see what she's doing wrong as a professor. She's actually not nice if she doesn't like you. She's a bad professor tbh.
She made us buy a $60 book that we didn't use halfway.
One part of our 3-part exam is tomorrow, and we barely had any help. She didn't teach us anything, just played audios for us to try and translate back to her, but then would get mad at us when we couldn't hear it. She's really passive-aggressive, and I'm sorry, but she's not really nice. Also, most days during class, she would trauma dump.
Exam was nothing like the study guide, but it's not like she taught the content anyways. 3 part exam, beware when choosing her.
SHE IS AWFUL. The only reason I got an A was that I taught myself. Horrendous organization, NEVER answers emails, and has a three-part exam. If you are trying to pass French based on the professor's knowledge, don't take her. She is the worst prof I have ever had, and I usually like my profs. Not even trying to be mean, she is just terrible.
TERRIBLE for intermediate. I hope she gets fired soon or at least moved.
Don't take this professor she'll try to make French your priority. You won't have time for you other responsibilities because you'll be focused on French
She scatterbrained and will make it your problem she's not organized.
I had her for one semester it was hard Looking at the recent reviews she didn't change. She's a nice lady tho. But my French progressed with professors.
I was able to leave with a B. I had to teach myself. Take another French course or language
Just take Spanish
The ex@m counted for a small portion of the overall grade. Mmm larger part of the grade came from an mmmm @ssessment that involved answering Ava. questions about the semester's material. She's a good French speaker
Stress inducing for a f!nal what was only worth fifteen. Questionnaire was fourty so it was up to the prof what your overall score should be.
She made us do a lot of group projects. Don't take her course french will take up all your time. Passive aggressive
