She is an awesome teacher. You do have to do homework but, it's not that bad in her class.

EXCELLENT TEACHER! She explains everything VERY clearly and she gives you exactly what is going to be on the test, so the test questions are not a surprise. I strongly recommend her if you struggle in math.

Ms. Z. has been awesome. I love her. I've was in her class from prep math 0002 at the Brandon campus and when she was transferred to Ybor I followed her throughout my other math classes! She is great and right to the point. I strongly recommend her for future students!11 :0)

Study, come to class, pay attention and you will be fine. She is willing to help which is rare becasue most professors dont care anymore and she still does. Homework is a bit overkill, but it helps when it comes time to take the tests

great teacher. i got D's in h.s. math and an A in her class. she is easy to understand and makes the concepts easy to grasp. show up to class, due homework, ask ?'s, and you will pass her class. after her class i was prepared for the following math courses.(A's through Pre-Calc)

goes over everything very thoroughly. if you need a math professor who does a good job of relating course material into something understandable. this is the one for you... and she's pretty

I enjoyed have her as my algebra professor. She did everything possibly to enable me, as well as all of the other students to pass. She even came in early to allow her students to get a head start on the exams. How awesom is that!! I am glad she was my professor. I don't like math, but she made it possible to pass. Good Job. Very helpful teacher! Did whatever she could to help you succeed. Alot of homework though. I am horrible at math and did surprisingly well in her class. She explains things very clearly which helped. She is also very approachable. Always reminded us that she was available after class or in her office. Gave extra credit for perfect attendance

There is a lot of homework but its all worth it when you take the test. Also if you have good attendance she gives extra credit, if you have an A you dont take the final. And she is always around to help. WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO ASK FOR.

AWSOME PROFESSOR!!!Take her she just makes everything easy. Do the homework and practice exams(which are just like her Exams) and you will pass her class with and A... I do not understand who would think that she was a bad proffessor(well maybe people that do not do the homework or practice exams and expect to get good grades)

If you are not good at algebra, she is the teacher to take, I took algebra before and got a D. I took it with Mrs. Zarvella and got an A. She is awesome. If you do the homework and practice tests, you should do well but you do have to put some time in. she is the best.

This class is not as easy as it appears, but Ms. Zavarella is a pretty good teacher. The tests are usually 15 questions each and that doesn't give a lot of room for error. But, if you have an "A" average at the end of the semester, you can be exempt from the final. Attendance is not mandatory but is recommended. I suggest recording her lectures.

Professor Zavarella was very thorough and her methods are effective for learing the material. She has a subtle sense of humor that increased my enjoyment of her class.

She is a very good teacher, but the test are extreally hard. Test are usually 20 questions free response, but the answer is very long.

Highly recommend this professor....she give you review sheet before test.(which has similar questions from textbook that you can expect on test)and the final is optional.

Zavarella is an extremely competent and thorough professor. She has something that most math professors lack, social skills. Her course gives you multiple opportunities to receive a good grade by having homework and group activities in class that allow bad test takers room to still get a good grade. Very fair and a tad forgiving.

very good professor worthy of a great review. dont be shy around this on guys, she is more than eager to help out with any problem in class. she explains things one way and if you don't get it, she explains it in as many other ways as necessary until you get it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

She is very straight forward. I have taken her class for the 3rd time and she is very concerned about her students passing rate and well being, but you have to talk to her one on one so that she will know what is going on with you. Do all homework, and spend at least 1 hr. a day studing, and guaranteed you will pass her class. GOOD LUCK.

Dr. Zavarella is an extremely organized and intellgent professor! She knows how to teach math in a way that is understandable! She is the best math professor I have had!

If Maths scares u or your math skills are rusty, take her! She makes everything looks so simple and ez to comprehend. I think it is her style of teaching. There r 4 exams (100 pts each, 1 final (optional).4-5 grp activities (worth 100 pts), HW (100pts).So if you mess up on 1 or 2 exams, u can still make a good grade even an A in the end!

Dr. Zavarella is my top favorite professor. I have taken 2 math courses with her, and have never received 100% on math tests until I had her. I HIGHLY recommend her. Advice: always do your homework on time, attend class everyday, and study for the reviews.

Great teacher I highly recommend her, while in her class I learn content that I didn't understand on my intermediate college algebra class. Do all your homework,group activities, her hand out review and you will get an A for sure, she is always available for you. but she don't take late homework. Overall she is great, the best teacher I ever had ;)

I suck at math but Mrs. Z is so good that I got an "A". She is very nice and helpful. Her door is always open. If you fail her class it's because you never spoke up and asked for help! I would recommend this teacher for all your math class!!!!

Excellent professor, always willing to help, my inter- algebra professor was awful and I start to understand a lot of things from inter-alg, she is crystal clear on her explanations and made math class seems so easy,I took mac1105 last spring and she deserved my review, I highly recommended especially if math is not easy for you ;)

I had been out of school for 40 years, but she is a great Math teacher. I passed the class and she is a big reason for that. Crystal clear and fair, but hard as the subject is demanding. I recommend her highly. She is a very real person and understands her subject thoroughly. Carole is a VERY good teacher.

I loved her class! I stared off roughly because I didn't study and got a 60 on the first test, but after that I started doing the test reviews and got As on every test and a 98 on the final. She's excellent at explaining and I definitely recommend her.

I sought out this website just so I could let someone know how great I think Dr.Z is. I wasn't surprised to see that many other students agree with me. If you need to get an A in MAC 1105, I would recommend this prof., not because she is easy, but because she can really teach if you are willing to learn.

TOOK THIS CLASS ONLINE AND DID GOOD. SHE IS A GREAT TEACHER, VERY HELPFUL AND UNDERSTANDING. GIVES REVIEWS FOR EACH TEST AND CAN TAKE ONLINE QUIZZES UP TO 3 TIMES. TESTS HAVE FEW QUESTIONS SO YOU HAVE TO STUDY! WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

As a music major, elementary statistics is just not real interesting to me, but Prof.Zavarella encouraged me to continue when I was ready to give up. Her test preparation guide was excellent,and when I applied myself and really tried,I actually did well. Thank you Professor Zavarella. It is a mandatory class, so why not get it done over the summer.

I took her online stats class and thought she was an excellent online teacher. Math is very difficult to teach and understand by reading the book but she gives very clear test reviews so that you know what concepts are important. I went to her office hours to look at a test grade and she was helpful in explaining where I went wrong. Nice lady.

This is a great class. I do not recommend to take it online. It is really difficult online because you do not have the teacher showing the steps. Youtube was my teacher for most chapters.

Great teacher, easy class, learned a lot. If you have any questions she is there for you, sometimes she was sending replies after 11 pm (5 mins from when I asked her a question). Tests are very fair - she gives only what has been covered, no surprises, no tricks. Her test reviews were very helpful too. Definitely take her!

She is a good teacher. She knows her material which is expected being that she is head of the math department. She follows her syllabus to the "T" and if you do ALL the Homework and STUDY you should pass. I did & I hate math.

Easy to understand and very patien with students. I my opinion the amount of manual homework she made us do was a great help in understanding and practicing the course content.

She goes over hw problems that students needed help on before you turn it in and really breaks down every step of how to solve it. if you need to save a few bucks DON'T buy the book. Go to the library,they keep a copy of the book, and photo copy all of the pages you need. Do all the pages you can afford at once bc people may borrow them for hours

-unless you can pick up the material from the textbook DONT MISS CLASS !

She is great at conveying knowledge and available for help during office hours which is very helpful. Nice women, clear spoken, unlike other professors. Math is a step by step process and Professor Zavarella does a great job of taking you through it. Unless you are a math genius don't skip class or you will not pass, no matter who your teacher is.

As with any math class, a large percent of the learning takes place while solving homework problems. Expect a good amount of homework. Dr. Zavarella gives great explanations and takes time to answer all questions presented. If you are willing to put in the work at home, I highly recommend taking her class.

Zaverella was really great at explaining things. She was very very easy to follow. I ended getting an a in her college algebra class. It easy if you do all the hw and all the group activities. She really doest joke around with those. What helped me pass her class well was going to tutoring. She gives you lots of homework!

I took her class for college algebra. It was cake! It is basically algebra 2 on crack. Her lectures are very clear and she tells you exactly what you need to know, so take notes!! There is homework but it is super easy and you can re-do problems as many times as you need to get 100%. Show up, take notes, do your homework, and do the practice exams.

It is mainly on pearison which was easy to focus as completing the hw ahead of time was the key to doing well.

Professor Zavarella was the first and best math professor I had throughout my undergraduate degree. As a senior in engineering I have completed a lot of math and the instructors went downhill fast after her. Math takes work. If you don't practice it, it's hard. Yes she is strict, but also an excellent instructor, which is rare!

I took this class during the summer online: a 12-week course. The class was easy. A couple of homework assignments a week. Two honor lock tests (three if you count the optional final). The test was weighted heavily, but most of the time it was just homework questions. The class is taught through online person; it sounds more difficult than it was.

She was so nice!! She gave me handouts and an example that she wrote herself when I told her I didn't understand a problem. It's a lot of homework but it's helps for the exam. 4 tests, only 2 proctored. The optional final exam is only 20 questions. which is also proctored. 10/10 would recommend.

The class is weighted meaning even if you get a low grade on a assignment it wont affect you because if you're doing well with other assignments you can still pass the class.
