she is very fast and students can hardly understand her and most of the students fail her class what ever it is math 101 122 or what,but hardly 5 or 6 students pass her class, so if u r planning to take her class, don't ever dare to take it.
Very hard to keep up with if you don't read ahead. Very passive agressive. Friendly on the surface but is more likely to scold you then help you if you have trouble understanding. Extremely hard grader! Will deduct points for any miniscule mistake.

She never gives enough time on her exams. You gotta rush through it then she collects it and leaves for 20 minutes to hang out. It's frustrating when you know the material(no thanks to her,by the way) and you gotta race through it in a panic. THANKS EISEN

She explains pretty well. But the reason why so many people don't like her is because she does not curve. Well, from my view, she should give a 10 to 15 point curve on each exam, that way just encourage students don't give up, and continue do their best.

Retarted stickler! The only reason why we don't get time to finish the lesson is because she wants everything her way. You CAN do well in this class, but you will have to either put in an enormous amount of work, or already know the subject. She is very discouraging and comes off as a horrible person. She tells you to ask any questions, then disses you in front of the entire class for asking such a "dumb" question. Lots and lots of HW. Fair grader, HARD tests.
Her tests ar horrible. She will find the hardest questions to put on it. Even if you think the material is simple, and you think you know it, think again when you take her tests. As I agree with the other opinions about this teacher, her class work is totally inadequate and the homework she assigns is a poor preparation for her hard, tricky and long exams. I feel she wants to know what you don't know and she could care less if you wish to learn the work. I can't afford to drop this class--so i will go to workstudy afterward
By far my absolute favortie teacher in QC. She explains everything so clearly and actualy makes me look forward to math class. She gives you e.c. for putting HW on the board, and iu think she genuinely wants to help.

If you LOVE math, you'll LOVE her. Abt. 2hrs. of hw per night and if u can grasp math at the speed of light, then go for her! She spends more time reviewing hw then teaching a lesson. I was a computer science major up until I took Professor Eisen's Pre-Cal class. I had such a hard time in her class that I decided to switch my major. She is a nice lady but, you really need to understand the way she teaches or else you're going to be lost in the class.

Worst prof I've ever had. It's funny cause on the first day she'll tell you she doesn't want you to have to teach yourself the material, but then you're pretty much forced to cause she spends 40 minutes out of the 45 minute class going over the HW, then quickly writes down some notes and you're expected to know what to do for that night's hw.
Well... at first, she seems like she'll be a great professor, but be really careful. You NEED to do your homework every night if you want to do well. You need to ask lots of questions, because that is the only way you are going to learn anything in that class. Her tests are really long and difficult, you need to understand the work thoroughly.

I recommend that you don't take her class. Her test are hard and she takes off a lot points for the smallest mistakes. On the final exam, she didn't let us use the calculator. Even when we were using the calculator for the whole semester. This is the class that i dedicated the most time and energy and its the class am failing.
i put so much effort into this class and ended up with a B....and i am a math major, i do not reccomend her, she talks way to much about stuff that makes no sense....do not take unless u promise yourself you'll attend and do homework every night.

Worst professor ever...That simple. I studied for like 20 hours over the weekend before the test and I knew the material. She takes off a rediculous amount of points just for the tiniest mistakes and she gives crazy questions. Lastly she expected us to be done in 50 minutes. Test are design where you look at the problem think about it.. and start it. Her test problems are design where if you put your pencil down for one second you wont have enough time to finish the test... you cant even think about the problems you have to know it, the moment u see it. Her test are also hand written..
Do not take this professor. How can a class of 11 people in it have four people fail. I loved math until her. I did every problem possible, but failed every test. She cant teach properly and her tests reflects nothing that she goes over in class. She gives homework and gives you a grade on how many you put up on the board like its first grade.

I found her to be extremely helpful. The lectures were clear, she made sure you knew what was expected of you and she took the time to answer even the lamest questions. I was dreading college math and I did fine because of her.

If you pay attention, do the HW, and study well, you should do well. However her tests are difficult and doesn't give enough time. Doesn't give curves but does give fair amount of partial credit.
She has no soul thus no compassion. She laughs or smirks at you if you don't understand a topic -she expects everyone to understand the material already. If I already knew the material I wouldn't be in that class-duh! Also, she sends half the class blabbering on and going over homework, little time is spent on new material.
Tough Class. Most of the class drops after the first test. Her tests are very difficult, and she does not drop the lowest grade. Course consists of 3 tests and a final. For some reason she sometimes gets annoyed at some of the questions that students ask her.If you dont plan on studying 2-3 hours every night, dont take this class with her.

I took Calculus 151 from this lady back in fall 1983. She appeared to be a nice lady, but her tests are designed to trip you up. I studied hard, was good at math, but still did poorly. I failed! I can't believe she is still teaching!

This professor is someone you should definitely stay away from. Although she is nice, her tests are definitely not. She does provide good enough notes, but as people previously said, the questions she goes over in class and in homeworks are not even close to the level of difficulty of the questions on her exam. You'll have to study a lot to do well
By far not the easiest professor, but certainly very helpful and provides constructive feedback to your questions. If you do the homework and take the time to study, easy A. ADVICE: Take her in-class exams seriously - they are extremely similar to the final exam given out by the Math Department.

As long as you stay up to date with the homework you will be fine. Putting HW up on the board for the class gets you extra points on your grade. Lectures are enjoyable and she is very helpful. Definitely recommend
This is one tough math professor. Yes, she is slightly friendly, however, she does not teach properly in the class room. Even if you attempt to teach yourself... it's her method or no method at all. Her teaching is completely irrelevant to her exams. Text book slightly helps. HER EXAMS ARE DIFFICULT and she doesn't give enough time. Stay away!!!!
She's a little friendly but can also be kind of rude. I think she teaches pretty clear, but can still be ambiguous and iffy sometimes, even when students ask a question. If you want to take her, make sure you do at least some of each homework she gives (since she gives a ton), or else her tests will be pretty much impossible.
Never take again she's hard, boring, and mean. HW is a lot and tests are really hard. The tests are more harder and tricky than HW and example.
Prof. Eisen is very clear on the material she teaches and what exactly will be on each exam. Those who complain are very likely those students who want to get an "A" in the course with little to no effort and cry when otherwise. Eisen gives you the grade you deserve. She is strict, knows her stuff very well and is willing to help when needed.
Lectures can be dreadful but thats only cause she goes very in detail about the material, and she wants everyone to understand. If you miss one class you gonna be LOST. Shes willing to help, just ask and SHOW EFFORT. Not an easy class, you will have to work hard. Ask questions, she will help. Shes organized, and consistent.
Despite her horrible reviews, If you actually pay attention, do the homework and show her you're interested in the material, you will do exceptionally well in her class. Once she notices you're interested, she'll go out of her way to make sure you do well in her class. Got an A.

It's precal, people- you're here because you need to pass calc. This isn't going to be an easy A. HW? tons, but grateful for the way she assigns a variety of sections that continuously cover past topics, so as to keep the work fresh in your mind. She helped me understand many things I didn't understand in high school. Just too much homeworks and the tests are a bit hard but she says exactly what questions will be on the test!
Wonderful professor! She really wants her students to succeed. Her exams are difficult since time is limited (1 hour). However, it's possible to do well in her class if you attend every lecture, stay on top of the homework and study on your leisure time. Don't expect an A without putting in any effort.

I'm a 4.0 student and Math is my strong suit. That being said, the class is very challenging but can be doable with an A if you are willing to study, practice questions, and speak with her. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! She is not mean or rude or anything like that. Respect goes both ways.
Great teacher, very tough, Textbook and attendance are MANDATORY, gives TONS of homework and online assignments. Doesn't give a chance to make up failed or missed tests. No calculator on her first 3 exams. Lets you put up homework to boost your grades and helpful when confronted after or before class. Makes you work for hard. Lectures are heavy.
She does not give syllabus and doesn't think that your entitled to one, there is no way to reach her outside of class (not technologically inclined) unless you hunt her down, excessive class time more than alloted makes keeping appointments hard, you wouldn't want to be absent because the you miss a lot. Attend ALL lectures! She writes good notes on the board and it helps with the homework. I am not that spectacular at math but she explains it so well that I feel confident enough to do the homework. Throughout all of my schooling I was encouraged to find different ways to do problems so I don't understand why she takes off points for doing it a different way. This class is ridiculously hard, but it's not impossible. Lectures are pretty clear. SHOW up to every class, do ALL the homework problems to completion (google if necessary), practice about an hour a week (3 hours+ the week before a test). She will give you the topics on the test beforehand so you will know what to study. Do this for a B- at worst

Doesn't even give out a syllabus. Homework is extra credit, tests are 4-8 questions, so get one wrong and it heavily affects your grade. Blames failure on you and very degrading, as in, corrects your work in a way that makes you feel really humiliated. No office hours, just talks after class. Also made us give up free hour for two extra classes.

She takes attendance, if you write a homework solution on the board I guess she gives extra credit (I personally never seen it added to my grade). her test are 5 questions but with different parts (a-e). She grades tough on test and she expects you to forget everything you know and solve it her way. You just have to work for your grade.

Beware of her if she misses a class she will make you come in on Wednesday. She spends an hour reviewing useless homework questions. Eisen is a terrible professor. Not only does she give the hardest tests but she's an incredibly harsh grader. I was left with no option but to take her because she was the only professor open for the spring semester. Do yourself a favor and don't take her. I took pre-calc in high school & I knew everything plus I got an A. But she ruined my gpa!!!

Do not take this class unless youve taken another precalc class she teaches as if you already know the material gives you hw that doesnt count towards your grade unless you dont do it which makes absolutely no sense, has a horrible handwriting and doesnt believe in giving a syllabus grading criteria super unclear, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
Do not take her if you already are not that great at math. She cannot teach and expects you to learn everything her way. Does not even grade homework and most of your grade is based on exams. The only way you are going to pass this class is if you already know all the concepts on Pre Calc.
If you have a job and other activities out of school, you wont handle the amount of work you need to put into the class to even pass. Just dont take this class wait for a better professor. Her exams are unfair, difficult, and tricky and on top of that she barely gives partial credit. The isnt helpful more of a waste of time.
Was seriously considering going to the department to rip her a new one. She is absolutely awful. Speaks too quick, unnecessarily rude, and teaches you the same lessons as her calculus class. She doesnt allow calculators and will take points off exams for the STUPIDEST things, such as not writing 2+24 as a step. AVOID HER SHE RUINED MY GPA
Not worth taking especially if you need a c- or higher. She grades test harshly and doesn't allow calculators. Her grading criteria isn't clear at all and she's rude. Don't ask for help because you will most likely not be helped. Overall avoid her class if you can.
Overall not a good teacher. Don't take her class if you don't have too. The math department should really do something about her teaching.
Doesn't give good feedback . The instructor doesn't give review sheet.
Wish I could give a 0. The worse Professor you could take. She could care less about her students and wants to see them fail. Your grade is based only on three exams and a final. Her exams are the WORST. She puts 5 questions on exams and grades them harshly. She seems sweet but Ive seen her yell at students and degrade them if they ask questions.
Dont take her class. Her test are unfair and she doesnt teach well. Shes also not an easy person to ask for help.

I took her in Fall 2019. VERY old school, her lectures get very boring, but she does teach alright. I guess I just didn't give it my all.
She was one of the worst Professor I have ever had. Shes a tough grader, you only get three exam and she writes them herself which you can barley read. The only thing that that I like was that she gives you the chance to makeup webassign other than that shes a tough Professor.
calc 2 Grade is based on 3 exams and a final. Lets you put up HW answers on the board for a bit extra credit. HW is entirely optional, but if you don't do it for practice, you'll probably fail. Exams are fair, lectures are decent. The people complaining probably expect to learn everything in one class. You have to study hard on your own for calc

shes a very tough professor and very harsh on the way you answer questions. its do it her way or get it completely wrong. one thing to recognize is that she tests based off her lectures. study her lectures and do the homework and you'll be fine. VERY HARD CLASS TO GET ABOVE A B
Very harsh grader. Gets mad when you don't know something but definitely knows her stuff. She's nice when you're doing well but when you're doing poorly gets very frustrated and puts the blame on you rather than herself when things can be unclear at times.
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS!! WORST PROFESSOR I'm good at math, but she is HORRIBLE at teaching. Relies heavily on the expensive text/workbook. Tests were often only 3-5 questions, one wrong answer dropped your grade heavily. The only people who passed her class were those who already took the class before, everyone else failed and I despise her.
