HORRIBLE!!!! I have never had a teacher who I cannot stand. She is the worst teacher. She is qa control freak, cannot admit when she is wrong and absolutely never stops with her personal views. We hardly ever spend time on the course subject.

Hey, how about you write your own book if you aren't going to use anything from the one you assign?

She sucks the life out of you. I'm a really hard-working and studious person, but every day I wake up and realize I have to go to her class, I become sick to my stomach and try to miss as many classes as possible. There should be a petition to fire her!!

She expects way too much out of the class... she expects you to remember every little thing that you read. Her lecture has nothing to do with what you really need to know to pass the class.. it was a nightmare. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS you will fail!

she is horrible. everytime you try to raise your hand to ask a question she snaps at you and tells you that she doesnt take questions. The whole class is her talking to herself . if you turn a page in your notebook she stops the class. DONT TAKE HER CLASS

A nightmare! Capricious grading, holds personal vendettas for things only she knows, class is rambling monologues that you may never interrupt. This woman's class is like having a root canal-god knows you don't want to do it, but you still have to. Misery

This is the worst class I have taken in my life! All we did was memorize sociological definitions by rote and spew them back in tests. The funny thing was when she lectured she had to run back to her podium in order to read the same definitions. Avoid!

I would rather burn off my finger tips with lye, then take her course again. She did not explain sociology at all. The work consisted of writing down definitions and then regergatating them back onto paper.

Worst professor ever. Hands down. Biased, cruel, unfair, petty, angry, condescending, control freak, incredibly incompetent. I absolutely cannot believe that she is still teaching. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST! No learning, yet much torture.

She definitely needs to retire, and you should definitely not take this class. I understand that all teachers have their own teaching style but this isn't even teaching. I asked her what her sociological background was and got no reply. DO NOT TAKE HER!

She thinks she is the best sociologist in the world, and that's fine, but when we students are not able to absorb EVERY word of her crazy definitions, and EVERY word in the book, we fail or barely pass. She's the only soc instructer at cabrillo... REALLY: go somewhere else!!!

All I can same is Lame and concur w/ other postings... that were also negative. Most of the lame comes from her power trip to control the class. (not that it is out of line, but most students are in their 20's or later and she treats everyone as if they were 12... very anoying).

I my goodness such a confussing teacher. Does not know what she is talking about. Even if you try to do good her quizzes are just to confusing. Do not take her at all. You will not pass. Believe me, she is very controlling of the class if you are late she will let everyone know and their mama!

Run away from this class. What at first seems like an incredibly interesting course, and an easy "A", turns out to be pure torture. I don't think this professor truly wants to teach - she would rather ignore and fail her students. I'm lucky I got away with a "C" - and I'm an "A" student.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. No structured lectures, no tangible class outline.. You have no idea what to expect or do. She is ancient and needs to retire! She likes to 'discuss' things so she can tell you how you are wrong.

I found myself looking all over the room for a hidden camera. Because...she's so crazy that this must be some sort of a reality TV show that hasn't been aired yet.

good god I have nothing but venom for this woman. Incredibly concieted and self-important; terminally unhelpful. Avoid this teacher like the plague, I kid you not. The only saving grace here is how willing she is to accept deep-sounding BS and give it an A.

This professor is highly intelligent and has a great memory. However she does not efectivly transmit her knowledge to the students. She is very unclear as to what she expects for her assignments and her grading methods are very arbatrary. She expects the answers to her questions to be verbatum. I have never felt so demeaned in my school career.

wow, this woman is so demanding of what you need to remember, word for word. I studied my butt of, and boy was it painful. I even taped most of the lectures. My 4.0 went down the drain, thanks coffey. Run away, run far, far away.

this teacher tends to teach more nonsense than something that you might actually be able to take out of the class. before the test she actually gave a demonstration on how to close the door when we finished. I strongly disencourage anyone picking her for any class.

OMG, this woman is the Plauge itself!! She is incredibily hard, especially for a intro. class on this subject. The only this worse than her screwed up grading system, is her giving her own opinions as fact.

She was absolutely horrible. Worst teacher ever. She used the class as a platform to talk about how oppressed women, old people, minorities and homosexuals are and outwardly showed her hate toward anyone who didn't have at least one of those attributes. She stated her own opinions as facts and allowed no sort of argument against those opinions

She is very knowlegdable. However, she has communication issues, doesn't respect her students, and gets irrationally angry about little things. Probes students and makes assumptions about personal matters. By all means DON'T rustle paper, she's yell at you or ask you to leave. But it's okay to make nasty remarks about a woman's appearance, she will only tell you to be quiet. She thinks she knows all!!! Don't take a class w/ her. She is oppresive and rude. Not a good thing for soc teacher!!

She is HORRIBLE. What shall I say of her teaching style? Tyrannical, manic, entirely impossible, unclear, ****, ****, stereotypcial. Pick a few. She called Rice and Powell "oreos", she defends the crappy text like it was written by god, she will not talk about anything class related inside the classroom. STAY AWAY FROM HER!

She is rude & she treats college-aged adults like secondgraders. She states facts that are wrong and then stands behind them, ex:She insisted that Laramie, where Matthew Shepard was murdered, was in Colorado! & that is just 1 example. Yells at people for turning the page in their notebook will mark you down on tests if you sniffle. GET OUT NOW!

I have never had such an aweful professor. She cannot aknowledge and opposing point of view. Not only is she confident that her facts are right but she will tell you your opinion is wrong. She will also stop class to wait for you to finish moving papers. Do your best to find another class even if it sounds boring. attendance is mandatory.

I want to gauge my eyes out when i think about her class. When i'm in her class, i get a terrible feeling like i'm going to spontaneously combust, crap my pants, and have blood squirt out of my eyes. By the end of the class, i have learned nothing pertaining sociology and feel totally drained. Her teaching method is impossible to learn from.

Carolie Coffey is the worst teacher at Cabrillo I would like to warn everyone that is going to take her class and let them know that it is nearly impossible to learn and get and A in her class....Not only is she unclear she has an old method of teaching that is no longer relevant today

It makes me sad thinking about this woman. She is really intelligent and if i were to talk to her outside of class, i would probably like her. but as a teacher...it makes me sick. i can't even go into all the little things she could change to be a better teacher. its unbelievable how a terrible teacher can slip under the radar of a great school.

This is the worst teacher I've ever had in my college career. my advice: TAKE ANOTHER SOCIOLOGY CLASS. I've bonded with people in other classes through our dislike of this woman. Now she doesn't teach at cabrillo anymore. To answer the question before me, I think you can still review even if said teacher is gone.
