She's the teacher if you want an easy A in english. Not a tough grader. Students majoring in English might want to take a more challenging instructor. She's really nice too.

Definitely an interesting class. I hate literature but somehow she has me interested in it. The class is easy and she is extremely witty. Fun!!!

GREAT TEACHER, much, much better than J. Smith. J. Smith doesnt even smile when you come to his class, instead, Mrs. Cheney always have comments or stories to make before starting the class. She makes the class more enjoyable, I recommend her for ENC1101.

Yea, she is easy and nice. I guess I hold a grudge because I ended up with a 89% in the class. I just needed one more point for an A. I told her I would wright a 15 page paper on why I should get an A, but she wouldn't comply with my bribery efforts.

Very good teacher. Highly recommend for ANYONE looking to take English I or English II. The work assignments are not very difficult. As long as you do the work you should be able to get at least a "B"

WRITE EVERY WORD SHE SAYS IN LECTURE OR TAPE IT! Study your notes and you will pass EASY! Her tests are straight from lecture notes. Excellent teacher, opens your mind to new thoughts and ideas. Interpretation is hard but she helps you. Highly recommend her!

She is really funny. Her style of teaching is great. Her papers do sneak up on you, but its an english class, and usually you have papers do in those types of classes,duh. Her lectures on poetry and sex are really funny coming from her. She was great and I would take her again.

I am not into literature and poetry yet Mrs Cheney made it fun! She tells funny stories and gives interesting tidbits to help people relate to characters.

She was one of my fav teachers at SCC...she stays on topic and gives you opportuntiy to get the grade u want. she is very caring and puts her students first!

I'm not a fan of old literature but Ms. Cheney made it fun! She is hilarious!! I took her class the same day as my speech class. I was SO glad to have her friendly, innovative class after my boring, yucky speech class!! She's great!!

Freakin AWESOME teacher. Not as stuck up as other english teachers who want you to become poets and philosophers. Very interesting and makes class funny and interesting. Very easy class. You will have to write a few papers but the key point of the class is learning how to cite sources. Once you have that it would be impossible not to do well. Easybib.com is very helpful for this class too. I got an A and I hate to write. You don't have to get the text books but is useful for the exit exam.

mrs. cheney is crazy as heck. if your into visuals and writing on the board, she doesnt do any of that, but if you can understand something when someone relates it to now then you should def. take her. essays and papers is what really makes up the grade but when she goes over stuff make sure you listen to what she says cuz usually thats what matter

This professor was by far one of the most interesting english teachers at SCC. Her work is not hard at all but she makes you think outside the box. Test and quizzes are pretty fair. Overall, if you want to learn something and have fun while learning, then she's the right professor to take.

Mrs. Cheaney is the BOMB!!! The only reason she missed 6 days of class was because her father was dying in South Carolina. She was the easiest grader. As long as you write after the CLAST format you will get an A. I got an A and i'm totally going to take her for enc 1102. Only LAZY people will get anything less than an A.

Mrs. Cheney's class was beyond easy. We watched "Into The Wild" and wrote about it which was pretty cool, and most likely the hardest thing we did all semester.

I took both enc1101-1102 with her. Man if you want a good english class this is for you. Enc1 you do easy in class esaays and group essay and a simple couple cores. For enc2 you do same thing except no group essays and also you do a couple quizes which are tuff if you didnt read the stories lol. I loved her class def recommend it to anyone

Took English 1 with her and did not learn a thing. Such an easy class. Most of the time we just did group essays or she'd tell us long stories.. more than once. Just laugh at her stories and listen, even if she's told them before.

He knows what she's talking about and teaches the bare minimum.

GREATEST PROFESSOR! In class, you really don't do anything. A lot of class discussion. There is one test, and you get to use anything you want, books, your friend, and the test is crazy easy anyways. There is 3 core papers, and a couple in class essays. I'm taking her for English 2. She's just super funny and all around a great professor.Take her!!

boring class, but I did learn some things. Take good notes to study for exams. You must put forth the effort in writing your papers, after all it is a writing class and if you do not complete every paper you will not pass the class. It is not hard, but you do have to apply yourself.

Casual instructor. Three essays, three in-class essays, and Some group essays. Did not buy one textbook, and didn't need them. On the days when we didn't do essays, we did a few grammer worksheets as a class and some class discussions. If you put forth the effort, it's really an easy A. Last two days of class you don't even have to attend.

She is very easy and laid back, doesnt really teach you anything about english but talkes a lot about life. She grades essays strictly which is unfair because she doesnt teach. Took her two semesters, shes a nice person, And I would take her again.
