She makes the class fun and hip. She is full of energy and makes sure the class isn't boring. She is a real understanding professor and is really helpful if you need help!! She is full of life she bases her class on popular culture which is real fun! There are no surprises! She keeps you informed!

Loved her, best teacher I've had in college yet. Definately would reccomend Miss Mains if you are someone who struggles with composition.

I'm taking her for technical writing, she is super. I love her to death, she is a great teacher and definetly helps when its needed. A lot of handouts but helpful ones work also but it's definetly not mind boggling. I totally recommend her. YAY

Ms. Mains is honest and respectable. You have to work very hard on essays but's all worth it, I have been out of school for over 14 years and made A+. Do all extra credit it helps on essays to exempt you from final. I AM SO AWESOME AND ALSO HISPANIC.

She is fun and crazy. She keeps you on your toes. Dont miss class because its a fast pace. Its easy to make an "A" in her class. She's really helpful and trys to make it easy for us. She lets us know when we're going to have quizzes and know what material to study. No test, just a Formal Report of your topic and presentation.

Mrs. Mains is really hyper (in a good way :D) You have to do good in essays itself and must do "Discussion Leader" (if she will keep using it). Try to get it out of the way early.Class is fun; get A average in last paper you're exempt from the final paper!! :D Bless her!

Ms. Mains is enthusiastic, respectful, and immensely encouraging. She does not give away grades, though. You have to earn them, but she will go out of her way to help you do well. All you have to do is ask! Please do not take her if all you want to do is goog off; considering all she puts into her class, she DESERVES your very best.

I took Ms. Mains for both 1301 and 1302 because she is amazing! She makes you want to write. She is so sweet, extremely helful, and makes going to class fun. I can't say enough good things about her! Her class can be a challenge but you will learn a lot. If you want to become a better writer, take Ms. Mains.

Took her for both 1301 and 1302 and she is so much fun! She keeps you engaged and makes class fun! The work she assigns is only to help you improve your writing skills. Trust me if you put forth the effort it pays off! She is always willing to help even after you leave her classes!

Took it online, was very easy and very informative. You can find the books all online very easily. She responds to every email you send in timely fashion. Course consists of 15 disc. posts, 7 informal papers, 2 formal papers, 1 research paper. It sounds like a lot but it is spaced nicely. It is a fun class and also pretty easy. Highly recommend.

The best teacher I've had since my 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Starkey! It's hard to come by an excellent English Writing instructor, but she is truly one of the best. I wish she taught more of my courses. Love her!

Ms. Mains is a great professor to have, she's a bit hyper at times, but its just part of her quirkiness. She moves quickly so stay on top of your work. I really worked hard for my 'A' so if you do not plan to put 100% into your school work then this is not the class for you. Ms. Mains is a great professor & I would recommend her to anyone.

For me a very hard course. I am not one to write down anything. If are opinionated then you should excel in class. Homework every Wed and Sunday. Ms. Mains is a very tough but fair instructor. She movitates her students to give their best and I hope I can accomplish that.

Highly recommended no reason you shouldn't succeed in her class every essay graded if you don't like the grade received back she will let you revise it.

She is super sweet and funny she seems to really enjoy teaching, she is one of those teachers that is not intimidating to seek help from. Although she does not give out easy A's, she is specific on the areas you need improve. Be in class everyday the information is valuable!

I honestly believe that Ms. Mains will be the best professor I will ever have. Her attitude and enthusiasm makes the class very enjoyable. The instructions are clear and detailed. If you are having trouble with a paper I highly recommend making a visit to her office, you will leave feeling a lot better. Just do your best and you'll be fine.

I was annoyed with the bad reviews she had. Don't even look at them! She is an AMAZING professor. She was always there to help. I went to see her a lot during her office hours. She is a very fair teacher. I really enjoyed coming to her class.

I took Ms. Mains on my first semester after high school and as a returning student 3 years later. On both times she was amazing. I took her both face to face and online. Her clarity is exceptional and she is always there when you need help. One of the best teachers ever! She is very kind and her lectures are enjoyable. :)

Ms Mains has been one of my favorite instructor. She is the kind of instructor that will make you feel you will do just fine in her class the very first day of class. She is so caring and helpful and asks all the time if there is anything she can do to help you in her class. She will always have time for you, definite an awesome instructor.

8 HW, 4 Discussions, 4 papers. 2 grammar quizzes. Easy HW grader, tougher on papers, BUT very detailed and helps so much. I absolutely hate writing, which is why I am barely taking this course, but she gets you motivated. No book, all links and PDFs are what you read. Allows you revise papers for better grades. extra credit opt available.

I highly recommend her class for anyone. I took tech. writing online for summer and it was a breeze. 4 weeks is short amount of time to do a course, but anyone can do it. She is nice and caring, willing to work with you. i would tell anyone to take her courses! You will need book, cant go without. Easy class.

Professor Mains lets you know exactly what you need to do to pass this class. The text is inexpensive and gives great examples of all the Formal Documents required. I took this class in a 5-week summer session and it went by fast! No bothersome "reply to your classmates" on a weekly basis. I highly recommend Prof Mains for Technical Writing.

I took Ms. Mains my first semester of college and had no regrets! Such an amazing professor! She will help you understand everything needed to pass the class. Aside from the great lectures she also gives you feedback on essays and let's you revise for some extra points.

Took online, Lots of reading, Homework weekly, Hard grader on punctuation and grammar error. Pro. Main is always willing to work & help her student. She also response to emails quickly. Quizzes are bases on notes and books. The final paper is a research. Read all handout before assignment. Overall She a great, instructor that knows her stuff

I love Ms. Mains. She's very patient and gives excellent feedback on all written essays. Super dorky and sweet. I recommend not buying the book new, get a used one because you won't use it a lot. I earned a C for midterm and a B for final. She gives extra credits and do group assignments. Gives out one late paper pass. Don't procrastinate!

Where to begin?! Took Prof Mains for Comp I and II. She's AMAZING. Best professor I've ever taken. Always willing to work with you BUT you have to put in some effort. A lot of reading and writing but she makes it extremely fun. Very cool personality and her response time is insane. Always gives chances to revise papers. Hard to fail this class!

I loved Ms. Mains course! The way her class is organized you have plenty of time to complete your assignments and each assignment prepares you for the next one. You earn the grade you deserve so don't expect to turn in nonsense papers and earn an A just for turning it in on time. 100% I would take her course again.

I LOVED her class so much! If you need a ENGL prof for 1301-014 I highly recommend taking her. You do have to put effort into your essays though because she is a tough grader but she does let you revise them except the final! You do have to read and take quizzes but they are easy as well as the assignments. She is always willing to help!

Ms. Mains is AMAZING! Online flex 1301 course. Read ALL her files! She always responded on Canvas. More professors like her are needed! She knows when you try & or just wanna get by. She APRECIATES hard work. She grades very fairly. If you score a low grade it's deserved, don't blame her. Don't slack it's an easy course if you TRY. I loved her!

Learned how to communicate with people, very beneficial. Only part of the class is about MLA or APA formatting. One homework grade gets dropped, you get a chance to make corrections on major assignments. Weekly discussion requires a 100 word post. If you don't like this professor, college isn't for you. Best online teacher I've had yet.

Ms. Mains is a great teacher, she prepares you for the papers she assigns. Its a total of three or four papers and she helps you with each one. Her exams are take home and as long as you follow her rules and handouts you'll get an A

Took Ms. Mains for Tech Writing (FLEX). Avoid taking other classes concurrently. Intense, heavy class. Mains is empathetic, encouraging; positive & very personable. She pulls her weight to help! Maintain communication (email is best). Online text. Follow grading rubric exactly. Include word count on wkly discussions. Above par feedback. APA.

Probably the best english professor I have had. Her energy and charisma makes lightens the mood of the class and makes learning actually fun. She offers so much help and is always open to helping students who don't understand.

Great Professor Gives really good detailed feedback on papers so you can make corrections on she is also really good at explaining assignments gives plenty of examples on how our essays should be and what in include .

When we were forced to move online after Spring Break, she held personal Zoom meetings to ensure we were understanding the content and were on the right track for our papers. She allowed one late paper and one late "GR" for everyone. Dropped your lowest paper grade.

Ms. Mains is an AMAZING teacher! She is respectful and answers every question I ask her, never making me feel like my question is dumb or that I should have known the answer. She made learning very fun and exciting. Even though the work itself may have been difficult she made learning easy with her careful guidance.

I took Mains last semester and I loved her class. She does give a lot of work but it is very doable. She was very understanding, caring, replied quick to any questions I had and gave good feedback! Easy for an English class! 1 hw and discussion per week and 2 papers the entire semester. Readings can be long but are interesting. Easy to reach out to and responds to emails fast and with enthusiasm! Hw are easy 100 though but does grade mildly hard on the 2 papers, but provides excellent feedback. 1 group project but very easy to do!

Take Professor Mains for English 2311 Technical Writing. I cannot describe how helpful and encouraging Professor Mains is. The assignments can be a little tricky but she provides a bunch of tips and resources to help you. Overall a fairly chill and easy class but you have to stay on top of the assignments. 10/10 highly recommend!
