She's really easy to get along with and doest give that much work. Maybe like 5 papers a semester you write. It wasnt a breezze but overall a pretty easy class, Im taking her for ENC1102!!

Hands down the best english teacher I have ever had. She's fair, easy going, and able to talk to. If you don't enjoy english, then take her and she'll make it bearable and interesting. Take her you'll enjoy it!!!

She enstills a sense of intrest in reading and thinking about what you've read. she creatively pushes you to dig deep for meaning in the readings. show how reading can be intresting. very helpful when writing the papers. makes herself available to help students with any question and is open to critisim to improve her teaching style.

prof. barr seemed nice enough to begin with, but our class soon discovered that she was never prepared for class and expected us to work much harder to compensate for her incompetence. 47% of the total class grade was earned in the last week of the course, and the assignments were always unclear and never in sync with the syllabus. don't take her.
Horrible, do not take this teacher. She is so very unorganized. Comes to class late but expects you to be on time, and loads tons of work on you just because she has fallen behind. Just do not take her, she seems nice but could care less about you or your grade. I thought teachers were suppose to help not leave you wondering whats going on in class

Very unorganized. Do not take her!!!! she gives out so many assignments the last week of school which are impossible to finish. Hard grader on papers!! always looses papers. Keep track of your papers and assignments and the days they were given out or else she makes them up and tells you that you are missing the assignment and fives you a F!!!

Professor Barr rocks! She is not only funny, but makes the class super interesting. She has a real sense of humor and you can see it everyday. She is understanding and wity, helpful and tough. She is here for you whenever you need help, and gives you enough time and understanding for the work to get done. Love her! Must take :-D

Ms. Barr is a helpfull and understanding professor. But she relates literature to movies. I don't watch movies, so I was left out as most students were.The assignments are difficult and she is hard to please. I recieved an A in ENC1101 with 102% avg but I got nothing but C's from her. Don't take this class if you want a good GPA!!!!!
She is a difficult teacher to have. If you are expecting an easy A don't take her. You really have to work in her class and do your best at her assignments. She expects you to understand literature right away like she does. I got a B in her class but worked my tail off. Hard grader, picks at EVERYTHING wrong. If you want a challenge, take her.
Professor Barr is very helpful. She gives maybe 4 essays the entire semester and on each one she has you bring in the rough draft and tells you everything you need to change. She really a great teacher.

I do not understand how anyone could find this woman a bad professor...She is very enthusiastic about her work and is extremely helpful...She makes it impossible for you to fail her class in that she allows you to bring in draft after draft to get a better understanding of the writing process and of her lessons.

Make sure you are willing to print 40+ pages per week since you have to make a copy of your essays for every single student in the room. Even tho she is a nice teacher, I wouldnt recommend her since she likes to give Cs and Bs and is VERY picky. She forgets things and you will never know if you are doing good or bad until the end of the term.

Prof. Barr is very enthusiastic about her job. Offers PLENTY of help & gives alot of time to write papers. Classes consist of "step by step" lectures which are extremely helpful. She is funny, energetic & makes class enjoyable. We had to write 3 papers & she gave each of us feedback on it TWICE before each final draft. Not the easiest but the best!

She's a very good professor. She's very understanding, and if you have problem, just let her know, and she will try her best to help you. She lets you write your paper twice before you turn it in!
Lot's of reading, research, and annotating. Need to keep up with reading materials to participate in discussions, don't be late or absent, she can get carried away at times with presentation, but you will thoroughly know the material. You should get into short stories or it will be quite difficult to pass with high marks.
I took her for ENC1102,she a good teacher, but at the end of the semester she came to me with this weird thing saying that the stiry i wrote it was on the internet, and it wasn't... she has her moments... she very weird, but i will recomended her... just be careful

Professor Barr is AMAZING! Those who say she is not well organized is just because they dont take the time to listen to what she wants.I am currently taking her 1101 class and i never thought it would be this easy. All she wants is for you to learn and she is willing to help you in any way shape or form. I STRONGLY recommend her class.
Very disorganized...talks down to people in a very sarcastic manner...not clear on what she wants in her assignments.Despite all of this she is a very easy teacher and always willing to help. If you receive a paper back with a low grade she will let you revise and turn it back in. You can definitely pass as long as you do all of the assignments.

Look, Here is the real deal. I have took her class before for ENC0021. I say she is okay,but her teaching is not the best. I have better english professors. Trust me. I have her every mondays and wenesday for 8:00am. She not leanant of attendance. If you come at least fives minutes late you are already marked up late or absences.

Professor Barr is an excellent English teacher. I had her for LIT2020 this summer and I learned a lot from her. She made me enjoy writing. She is strict sometimes but she is fair to everybody and often lenient. Writing classes involve a lot of papers and she stays on top of it. I love her.

Very unorganized, never prepared for class, doesnt know how to calculate grades, unfinished syllabus, material on blackboard is all over the place, its like hide and go seek trying to find homework so that when you show up the next day for class you can be prepared, but your not because you cant find the homework, emails at 3 in the morning.

Class has a lot of papers, but it's a writing class. She is sometimes all over the place but i think that's when she gets her students to think outside of the box and create amazing work. She is very understanding to certain situations. She loves this subject and teaches it with ease. I would recommend this - learned so much!!!

Honestly, my AP Lit teacher from high school was harder and expected more from me. Her? Not really. If you know English, expect an A. Easy class, but not challenging. Also she doesn't really know what she's talking about half the time. And it's a less than a week away from when final grades are due, and I still don't have the majority of my grades.

I took this class blended, all the quizzes were easy and the essays were based on the stories we read. Very sweet and there for you if you ask for help. She will do what ever she can to help. She was a bit unorganized with the class, but just do her assignments and you will get an A.

She is very sweet and really talks a lot about the topics of the essays before you write. Indeed she is a bit disorganized and you have to remind her sometimes. But you can always go to her office and she'll read you paper and grade it faster. She is always there to help students. Quizzes are easy and she gives a lot of time to write essays.

If you hate English but like to write, take her! Shes not picky, she always believes you can do better, super understanding and whilling to help, she is forgetful but honestly that gives you even more time to get assignments done, at the end of the semester she puts in all the grades mostly As and Bs I took her for ENC1101 and ENC1102 love her!
Really good professor. She's nice and caring and doesn't yell at you when you ask a question to her. She is disorganized as she had to switch the syllabus so many times throughout the semester and her grading took forever. Besides that, she's an easy class to pass if you're on top of things.
Professor Barr is lost 85% of the times. Her lectures are all over the place and most times the class doesn't know what they are doing and have to just get through it. However, she is a good writer. She will give good feedbacks on paper and reviews which you can learn a lot from but her class sucks. She is better online than in person.
Barr was a very nice and good prefessor she reviews all of your essays so you dont just have a peer review you also have her. She is very lenient with work and if something comes up she will postpone and make sure everyone understands better. I really wouldn't recommend Barr. Nobody can not ever submit assignments, Updates syllabus and more then half way through the term and nothing is still graded. She also criticizes students harshly for simple mistakes on papers when her D2l is filled with grammar errors and none clickable links.
This professor is super nice, BUT she is very unorganized. If you just did a quiz or an essay and youre one of those people who want to know their grade immediately, do not take this professor. She does not grade until the last minute. She is also repetitive and will make you want to fall asleep in class. She does not deserve to teach anymore.

Really just overall not good. She completely neglects due dates, doesn't put any grades into D2L until multiple weeks after, and doesn't even stick to her own syllabus. Absolutely would've taken it online had I known how bad she was going to be. A 1 is too high.
Prof. Barr is a very sweet and respectful lady, the kind of teacher you'll want to be friends with after the course ends. She makes connections from the stories we read to the real world and shares her own experiences. All I can really complain about is that she takes a while to grade, and the uncertainty scares me. At least not a tough grader.

Had an amazing time this past term in this class. Ms Barr has a passion for Literature that bleeds through her lectures. You can always feel comfortable asking for extra help or more information on given topics. She can be a little slow to grade assignments at times and cell phone use is strictly prohibited. This class was is the most disorganized class I've ever took. There are rules and expectation set for the student but the professor did not uphold them. We wasted money buying a text book because we only used it twice throughout the semester. Plus, the syllabus was not updated so you would not even have a clear understanding on what to do.

Professor Barr although she is kind, she is EXTREMELY disorganized. I've never seen a professor change a syllabus so many times. She cares about students as she offers office hours every day at accesible times however her lack of disorganization makes students very confused. She is a fair grader.

Professor Barr is a very kind and sweet person. However, her class is too chaotic and disorganized. I could've got a better grade if she would stay up to dates on assignments and grading. Her due dates changes all the time, and her syllabus did not match the assignments due dates. Please don't take her if you don't have the patience.
This professor is EXTREMELY disorganized and doesnt follow syllabus. She missed four weeks of class and still asked us to turn in assignments that she barely explained how to do. She's very disorganized, changes the syllabus constantly, and you have to remind her to grade your assignments. She's very forgetful and if you don't stay on top of your grade, you will fail because she makes a lot of mistakes. You're basically the teacher in this class. Also, she doesn't grade until the last minute so don't expect any grades.
I thought she was a great professor, I passed her class with an A she helps you write your essays and if you need help you could always schedule an appt with her and she would tell you what you need to do in order to do good on your essay. overall she was great but that online class was 3 hours lol

Professor Barr is the kindest teacher you have on Central Campus. Care about her students. Assignments are easy. Counts presence in class. Students seem not to show up. Disorganized with her material. Ask students what happened in the last class. Promises assignments that are never posted. If you can deal with this, you will have a good time.
Terrible professor. Extremely unprofessional. Has favoritism for students. Never take her if you can avoid her.
She has a good heart but she is very disorganized. We never got a syllabus, she forgets the homework she assigns and the instructions she gives then gives you a low grade. Go to her office hours to show you care about grades in order to pass her class. So if you like anxiety and waiting till the end of the semester to get your grade then go ahead.
She is really nice and honestly a genuine person, but teaching just isn't for her anymore. She cancels class regularly and never grades anything. Constantly mixes up her dates and doesn't remember anything she assigns for homework.
Do not ever take a class with this professor if you can avoid it. The semester has just ended and she has graded a total of 1 out of 10 papers. She gives excuse after excuse for not having graded anything and you are forced to complete the class with ZERO FEEDBACK. She is inaccessible, gets confused on the requirements for her own assignments.
Absolute mess, never responds to emails, takes weeks to grade work. Nightmare.
A really nice and energetic teacher but she never followed the syllubus, always cancelled class last minute, never kept up with her assignments and always came up with excuses. I understand she could be going through hard times but that doesn't equate to the confusion and disorganization she exhibited this semester.
This teacher is completely disorganized and does not grade on time. The course is chaotic and she is not available for feedback or meetings. It was a relief to finish her class and never have to go back.
worst teacher ive probably ever had very unorganized unhelpful and has favoritism towards her students glad she said she was retiring because it was definitely time she was so unorganized and unclear and was never on top of her game.
