Terrible. Does not respond to emails in a respectful nor timely manor. Assignments are extremely open ended and hard to pinpoint exactly what is required to do well. The professor does not seem to care about her students and although material is easy when help is needed she will simply tell you to check online instead of giving a clear cut answer.

Not a good proff at all. She is teaching this class in an extremely boring way and her "class discussions" are insulting because they make me feel like a child. Not a fair tester. On exams she will ask about certain things that happen in lecture that do not pertain to the course. Dont get me wrong, she is nice and all but can not teach at all.

I simply don't understand why I have to take a HR course while I am try to major in finance. What makes it worse is that I have this professor. My average GPA is 10.5 and i don't even think I can get a 8 on this course. By attending her lectures, all you do is group discussion. You will not have any idea about how test is gonna be like.

Tests do not make sense, (typos and errors) lectures are useless. Her assignmnents are completely futile.

Midterm had questions that had nothing to do with the course, for example, there was an accounting question that showed up in none of the chapters. Grammatical errors in the questions as well. Midterms included insignificant stuff that happened in class. Lectures are not the best.

This course should be easy but Capretta makes it unnecessarily difficult than it should be. She did the midterm online and she didn't want people cheating so she made the questions super specific with statistics even so that you would have had to known every detail of her slides and the textbook. Lectures are bad and she is a hard unfair marker.

If I could give her a negative score I would. Unfortunately, she does not teach at all and reads off her low quality slides and then tests on the most out of pocket things. None of the material she uses is her own, she does not explain anything and your grade will suffer because of it and she never helps students. Do NOT take her course.

She barely teaches. 30% of the mark is the simulation and associated items, and offers 0 help whatsoever. Marks extremely hard and difficult to reach if you need to answer a question quickly. Questions on exams are loosely related to what we learned and are extremely situational, to the point you'd need to memorize all her slides to do well.

Probably the most boring professor who only reads off slides. Her midterm and final contain such niche questions that are just so stupid to ask. The online simulation accounts for a good chunk of your grade and if you have any questions, she isn't able to answer it and tells you to call the company who designed the simulation. Avoid her if you can

Lectures are absolutely useless as she only goes through material that we already had to do quizzes on THE WEEK BEFORE which objectively makes zero sense if you think about it. Midterm was super niche questions and was made unnecessarily complicated. Questions are made to trick u. She also can't help on the project that is worth 30% of your grade.

Never have I seen a more useless business professor Dear God. Don't get me wrong, I attended very few of her lectures, she seemed like a nice professor on paper, however she taught the most boring, mind-numbing lectures. Her midterm was terrible, the huge 30% simulation was her way of making her TA's do all the grading. Do not take this class.

Most useless course in the business program first year. Would've helped if the prof tried to make it engaging but she'd just read of her slides that were posted online anyways. Although you have to memorize a large number of useless terms, the exams are majority application based.

Not a great class overall, and this prof didn't help. CapSim was extremely difficult and not explained by her, making it impact our marks negatively. Additionally, exams made absolutely no sense and were purposely created to be confusing.

The final exam is so hard, almost every question is asking you what is incorrect or false The attendance is not necessary, and we are meeting for our group project for every class period. But in the final exam many questions asked us about "choose one that discussed in class" It's allowed to bring a crib sheet for past years test except this year.

This class was difficult for no reason. Lectures were not of great importance and could easily be missed, the majority of the course material overlaps with other business courses you are taking, and even if you manage to find the time to study all the material she posted, there is a high chance you will still perform poorly on the exams.

Just terrible. Nothing clear in the work we did, lectures were pointless, content was redundant and common knowledge. Exams were structured in a way to make the most basic things somehow be complicated. It's a required course but a pointless one.

She reads off the slides, does not know how to teach; this course was self taught to students. She did not give any previous exam questions to practice from. The exam had application questions which we were not prepared by in class. Application questions were never done in class.

I'll start off by saying I wish there was a petition to remove this godforsaken course. It's content heavy and dead boring. The lectures are a snooze fest and for the Capsim group project worth so much of your grade, Capretta will not help you or explain an inch of it to you.

The lectures were boring and pointless, she just read off slides. Way too much content and is very boring. Testing did not reflect what we learned. The grading scheme for team charter/capsim was very confusing. Unfortunately, you probably don't have a choice for taking this class.

This professor made an easy course so difficult, and she disliked the students with a passion. in COMM 1E03, you are forced to do a group project on CAPSIM, a rigged simulation which was difficult for no reason. Her final exam was confusing and had curveballs, as well as spelling mistakes. Its a bird course made intentionally hard by the prof.

She is the worst professor I have ever had. All of her lectures are her just reading off pre-made textbook manufacturer slideshows. The homework she assigns is useless and often ask the same question 2-3 times. her assignments/exams seem to be created to be the most tedious without actually learning anything. Do yourself a favour and avoid her.

International Airport-> Final exam were all spelling mistakes and riddles. Many questions were hard to understand. capsim: waste of money, everyone just put random settings, Capretta also didn't k how it was going to marked. if u don't go to class and read txtbook, u will be good. only good thing is her puppy slides at the beginning of the lecture.

Mandatory group project is difficult and requires large amount of coordination between group members. Most of the content during lectures are recycled from textbooks.

The course content is not difficult. Just her teaching, she does not answer questions or emails, reads off slides. She is a really caring prof tho, if you want extensions, dont hesitate to ask, just her class was confusing. Has no clue about the capsim simulation big project. And the exam questions were confusing. International airport indeed.

I dont understand why its one of the required courses. I feel that Carolyn tries to make a somewhat easy course into a hard one. The midterm was a mess with there being soo many students having technical difficulties and being sent to a building across campus. The group assignments are marked so hard for no reason and the rubric is soo unclear.

This prof is genuinely just bad, the only people giving her high ratings are because she is kind but she reads off the slides and is very monotone and the slides are not engaging. Theres a group project with like 8 people per group to make a 12-slide slideshow which stinks. The slideshows she uses to present in class are literally copyrighted by the textbook company lol so its useless going to class - just stay at home and read the textbooks. Seems like a nice person but she doesnt rlly teach well

Her lectures are basically her reading off the slides for 2 hours, with information that can be pulled right out of the textbook. Only go if there's actually something going on. Only good thing is she offers bonus marks throughout the course. Group projects are ridiculous and are marked harshly. Make sure you read the outlines and read them well.

Course content itself isn't difficult. She purposely makes tests way more difficult than they need to be. Half the questions were about things mentioned in class for 0.5 seconds and never seen again. She's very vague with assignment instructions and a hard marker. Also her tests were disorganized and full of typos. Overall unnecessarily stressful.

I wish there was an option to rate her in negative. Litreally the worst class and prof at mcmaster. She made mid term and final exam purposely hard. They were full of errors and things she mentioned in class for 0.5 seconds knowing that student does not come to her class at all. Worst class so far. The worst prof so far I had as a first year commerce student. The lectures are super boring and useless but she intentionally made exams hard which were full of errors and things she mentioned in class for less than a second. The lectures are litreally the reading slides for 2 hours and showing some boring and lame videos.

She might be a good person but definitely not a good prof. The exams were unfairly hard and about the things she mentioned in class that no one goes to. Avoid her she might be a sweet person but as teacher whatever.
