She will always do problems on the board and explain things very well. Her class is very challenging but her good teaching skills make up for it. Tests are difficult.

Excellent teacher. Very helpful; will clarify any questions you have. The math is not a breeze, but if you do and understand the homework you will do well in the on the tests.

Mrs. Hamilton is a great teacher. She explains things in many different ways so that everyone can understand. I even had questions about other math classes and about this class and she took the time to explain them to me and welcomed me back whenever I had a question.

She answered questions at the first of every class. She made note taking very easy and never made me feel dumb for a question I had. I would take he again.

She's an excellent teacher. I generally don't like math, but she made it almost fun. She really cares about her students and makes every attempt to help you understand. And she puts practice tests and their answer keys on Web CT to help you study for the tests. Awesome teacher

I have heard that the UVSC math teachers are hard, but if they are all like Mrs. Hamilton then that is a complete lie. Best math teacher I've had so far. Understands the hardest concept for the students and focuses extra on those. Always nice and tries to help you to pass. If at all possible take this teacher.

Carolyn is as good a teacher you can hope to have for Calculus. She speaks english which is an automatic plus to begin with. She offers you tests from previous semesters to study from. I am glad I had her for this dreaful calss. I still spent 2-3 hours everyday after class at the Math Lab. good luck!

She is a great teacher. She explains things really well. Just make sure you do her tests exactly how she wants you to, or else you will get marked down. Don't do her tests your way or how you know how but rather how she wants you to.

By FAR the BEST math teacher I have ever had. She has a way of explaining complex concepts in such a legible and easily remebered way. She helped me understand concepts that I learned years ago but never fully understood. Highly recommended teacher!

After getting a D+ in College Algebra, I was pretty turned off to math. Then I got in this class. It's still hard, but she explained the steps clearly and they make sense. There was a test every chapter and the teacher was available to students. The fact that she was Teacher of the Year helps! I would take this class again from her hands down!

The math was not easy, but her teaching methods and willingness to help and teach with clarity improved the difficultly level of this class. She is by far my favorite math instructor.

The teacher was pretty good but sometimes a little confusing. She used visual stuff sometimes and that helped me out. The tests and homework are pretty hard. Overall, I would recommend her though.

I loved Professor Hamilton. Normally math classes are pretty boriing but she found ways to keep class entertaining and fun. She devoted a lot of class time to going over homework problems and making sure students knew what they were doing. This is my third time taking math 1050 and the other two times I got low C's. This time I am in an A range because of Carolyn. She is a great teacher who is more than willing to help students. She explains the material in different ways so everyone can understand. I highly recommend her if you need to take math. Excellent teacher.

Professor Hamilton is a very good instructor. However, she is very strict and demands you do things her way or else. Requires attendance to the SLA class until above a 80% and the tutor is not effective and frustrating for many students. He showed some improvement, but acts as a guard dog for Hamilton which is a great barrier for learning.

She is a very nice person, teaches the subject material well. But her tests are very difficult and she does not curve. We used MyMathLab which was nice but some of the HW takes quite a bit of time.

Great teacher. She really knows her stuff. Be careful on comments you make in class. She can go from really fun to acting very childish. When she is in a good mood class is great. Tests are not bad. If you do the homework, which is required, you will do good on tests.

I had to work very hard to get an A, but she definitly explained topics more clearly than anyone has been able to explain before. If your scared of math and have to take it, take it from her!!

I love her class. She is funny and very helpful. Sometime homework is hard, but it is only 10% of your grade. Just work hard then you will be able to get a good grade. I didn't really study that hard and I got an A:)

We used my math lab. She is so awesome! She will explain the concept in EVERY way possible until everyone understands it. She is also funny and willing to help her students in any way possible.

She gives you an extremely accurate study guide for the tests (old tests which usually have extremely similar questions). She does require homework but only enough to ensure you understand the material. TAKE HER!

I took her online college algebra class and loved it! It was basically a review, but even the stuff I was learning for the first time was taught well. She didn't so much of the actual TEACHING but she was prompt to answer any questions and to send out mass FAQs when they came up. She knows what she's doing and is VERY helpful.

Very helpful, very clear in her examples. Tests aren't too hard, there are no "black magic" questions. Very fair to students and doesn't belittle them for not knowing everything about the subject. I would take another math class from her in a heartbeat.

The online course was a challenging one. Although I thought the tests were fairly easy, the reviews were Overwhelming we had to study 50 or more different equations and only 12 are on the test. But other than that it was great. Just plan on spening A LOT! of time studying for tests. Homework is on mymathlab, pretty easy BUT time consuming as well

Best math teacher I've ever had. Just took on too much this semester and didn't give this class the time it deserved to be successful. She is great at teaching, but if you miss class you won't know how to do the homework. Highly recommend doing homework in business lab with tutors. Willing to meet one one one with students, especially after tests.

Make sure to do all of your homework and stay current on your assignments. Don't fall behind and if you do get up to speed asap. Use the business lab if you don't understand a concept.

I have NEVER worked so hard for a good grade in my life but it was extremely rewarding. Fantastic teacher who cares about her students success. Business Calc is definitely not an easy subject, but she teaches very clearly and gives you the materials needed to learn outside of class on your own. She teaches to every students learning style. i had dropped this business calculus class twice because the teacher i had before professor Hamilton was terrible, but professor Hamilton makes sure you understand the assignments and she even meet extra hours for test reviews, the exams are also similar to the test review, even easier, i got a b- even two of my test scores were terrible.

This ended up being my favorite class of the semester. Professor Hamilton is talented at teaching complex math in a simple, easy to understand way. She also takes significant amounts of time to help students who want to go through test questions, etc. Excellent teacher!

Most effective teacher I have had in all my years of school. Tests are 80% of your grade but she gets you ready for them and genuinely cares about your success in the class. I can do really well in math so long as I've got a good teacher, consequently I thrived in her class. She is a really good teacher and knows what she is doing so long as you go to class pay attention, do the homework and study for the test, it won't be a problem for ya. There's a decent amount of homework but that's how you learn it as well.

Tough class. Good professor. She moves very fast during her lectures & sometimes it's difficult to keep up. However, she gives good lectures. Also, she is very caring of her students.

Speaking from personal experience, don't drag your ass when preparing for the exams. I promise you will end up repeating the course like I had to. Study the review guides and you will do just fine. Professor Hamilton is the best math teacher I have ever had. She explains everything so simply and works with you until you fully understand the material. She also uses ALEKS which is really nice and easy to use. 100% recommend her.

Homework are online. 5 attempts for each question and 3 attempts for the quiz that follows. Tests are taken at the Testing Center. 3 attempts to get the answer right, but a deduction for every attempt. There are study guides for each test. Also if you attend class, she may do some homework problems with you!

This is a review class to prep you for the test to get you into the right math class. You use Aleks for 2 hrs in class + 4 hrs of homework time each week.

Professor Hamilton is a no-nonsense professor. She isn't very tolerant and she doesn't really give extra credit, but she teaches the content in an understandable way. There are two homework assignments and two quizzes weekly. Tests are on the computer and aren't multiple choice. Do all the homework and get a 70% average on tests and you're good.

Weekly homework & quizzes online. There are videos online from webassign & from canvas that the teacher posts to help you do hw. There are 4 exams including the final. She provides great study guides that are similar to tests. She can answer any questions. I recommend this teacher. It's a hard class but she is a great teacher.

She was awesome! Homework was online though Aleks, and it was 30% of the grade. There were 3 exams, that were 45% of the grade. There was also a comprehensive final that was 25% of the grade. The reviews are the exact same as the exams, and final. It was a super easy class, and the Aleks software was awesome! She is brilliant, I highly recommend!

This class can be very difficult. She loves calculus and she is really great at teaching. She loves her students and wants them to succeed. She is very fair. She's not going to give extensions or bump your grade. I would take from her again! She's been teaching calc for a long time and she helps you understand why the math works. Highly recommend!

Hamilton teaches a tough course for a lot of people. I like math so it wasn't too difficult for me, but I do accredit her for teaching it in a really good way. Probably one of the best math teachers out there. She is really passionate about the subject too which can make it kind of funny.

Prof. Hamilton my be my favorite teacher I've had at UVU. She mentions over and over again that she is teaching us in a way that is applicable. There was homework every night, but it wasn't an excessive amount, and it directly relates to the quizzes and tests. I honestly went from hating the thought of calculus, to actually loving it. Wonderful professor! On every single homework/quiz problem there is a video demonstration on how to do it. DO THE TEST REVIEW. If you know the test review you will get excellent grades. I didn't do a lot of the homework for the class but I would get 98% on my tests because I learned the study guide. She comes off quiet but honestly cares a lot.

Best professor when it comes to Business calculus. She goes through at least half the homework, and the tests are the same question bank. It is business calculus which can be difficult, so just be prepared to study and work hard, but you should be fine. Would recommend to anyone.

The set up for this class was great, it was all over zoom and each week had the same amount of assignments. Prof Hamilton does a great job preparing you for tests, with the test reviews, short quizzes, and answering any questions you have, do the reviews and you'll do great on the test.

She was absolutely incredible. If you like online classes, you will love her. If I ever need another math class, I will try my darndest to make sure she is my professor. I did this class through zoom 3 times a week, she answers questions before going into the material for the day. It is all through web assign which was great and so were the tests.

Great professor! The classes workload does get a little heavy(about 80 total assignments, quizzes, tests) but just stay on top of all the work. Professor Hamilton is willing to help and answer any questions you have. If you're taking this class, take it from this professor!

She was amazing at explaining the concepts in my business calculus class. She goes over all of the homework and will answer any of your questions. It's very clear that she cares about your success in her class. You get multiple attempts on the homework, quizzes, and even exams. This makes it easy to get 100% on homework and quizzes.

Hamilton was very good at teaching. She has homework videos so basically, every homework question had a video. There is a lot of homework so be ready for that, but it's manageable. She does take attendance so I would recommend showing up to class. She is easy to work with and is willing to help you.

Super good instructor and pretty helpful during class, less so outside of class but as long as you stay on track then the class is very formulaic and therefore doable.

This is one of the hardest classes that I have taken, there is a lot of hard work that goes in to getting an A.. This teacher gives you everything that you need to succeed though. There are video explanations for homework problems, and the quizzes are just straight off the homework. Exams are hard, but the review guide is comprehensive. No ext Cred

Carolyn is great. If you are going to take Business Calculus, take it from Carolyn. On Exams you get multiple attempts and if you study the Exam Reviews you will do just great. A++ professor!!

By far the best professor I have ever had. She's organized and communicates extremely well. She is an excellent teacher, and will stop and help when needed. Homework can be exhausting, but there are videos and notes for each and every problem, very convenient! Tests come straight from her quizzes, so as long as you do the homework, you'll be fine.

Hamilton is super knowledgeable and offers lots of help because this is a tough time consuming course. Be prepared for lots of homework - a few assignments and quizzes per week. Tests are identical to the assignments. I chose to watch her video tutorials on my own time instead of attending the Zoom class, where she just went over homework problems.

Prof. Hamilton does a good job, but you have to know business terms beforehand cause you'll get lost quickly. She uses WebAssign for all assignments which is nice, but there is A LOT of homework that can be hard to stay on top of, and 50% of your grade is based on exams. No extra credit or curving. She also moves very quickly through the material.

Professor Hamilton was great. She has lots of resources to help you with the homework and quizzes. She teaches very well and is good at answering any questions. I would take her again! If you know how to do the homework, you will be fine on the tests and quizzes. Great professor!

I loved this professor for math, she was very helpful and willing to go over any questions any student had. She does have lots of homework but it is most helpful to do them. She is amazing at teaching math, she goes over all the concepts and equations and explains why to use them and more. She is awesome

She has made videos if you need additional help with the problems...If you have a math course and her class is available make sure you take it from her.

Professor Hamilton Is amazing. I'm not really a math person and she made it seem easy. Attendance isn't mandatory but I'd go to every lecture and participate because you get so more out of it and it makes the assignments and quizzes easier. Do the reviews right before you take the exams because if it's not on the review then it's not on the exam.

Professor Hamilton is great! Her class is structured very nicely and definitely worth it to take her class face to face. You cover a lot of material and it is a tough class, but her lectures are good. She really explains the material well. You have a few assignments and quizzes each week, but is not too bad if you stay on top of your assignments.

I was nervous about taking calculus online, but Professor Hamilton's course is set up for you to succeed. In her online course, she posts lectures for the material and then has additional videos showing you how to do the homework problems. Your final grade is 80% test based, so make sure you understand the material from the homework.

HIGHLY recommend taking Hamilton for calc. This class was definitely a lot of work, a lot of homework and quizzes due during the week. I honestly never even watched a lecture- I just watched the homework videos and did fine. The homework, quizzes and tests are all compiled with the very same types of problems. Test review is exactly like the test!

This class was hard. You are called on to guide the class through a problem you have never seen before. Lots of homework but the videos were helpful in getting assignments done.

She is AWESOME! If you need to take business calc, take it from her. Her canvas setup was amazing and she had so much additional help if you needed it. There were lecture videos if you were gone, and a video that went with every problem on the HW. She's super smart and teaches the material really well. The reviews for the tests were super helpful

obviously, this is calculus so it's not going to be easy but this teacher is really good at helping you figure out all the problems. all of your points come from the test, the test reviews are exactly like the actual test with different numbers. if you do the reviews there's no way you will fail.

Each class period is going over the homework questions. The homework questions tie directly into the review questions. The review questions come directly from the test. Your grade is heavily weighted toward the tests so make sure that you understand the reviews and you'll do great.

I'm naturally good at math so it might not be difficult for me. But if you want to succeed, attend class, even though it's not mandatory. Each week you'll have at least 2 homework due, with videos to help. Quizzes on those homework is due usually end of the week. Every homework problem has an explanation video, making it easy to solve.

Professor Hamilton was by far the most easygoing, and helpful professor that I have ever had throughout my entire college career! She made the math applicable, taught us cheat methods to get the answers faster and easier, and made sure that we know how the math actually applies in the real world!

Prof Hamilton teaches in a very clear and understandable way. I actually understand calculus because of her. She's amazing. Surprisingly funny and engaging in class. You'll have about 3 assignments and quizzes each week with videos explaining how to solve each question. Her class is really well structured and I'd recommend it to anyone.

It was way easier than I thought business calculus was going to be, if you are hoping for an A - that is totally achievable in professor Hamilton's class.

She has been top 3 favorite teachers in my 3.5 years at UVU. She does a TON of the Hw in class; there are videos for EVERY hw question. The tests, quizzes, and hw are all the same exact questions with just different numbers. There are 3 assignments and quizzes a week. I spent a max of 1 hour outside class on average per week. Amazing teacher.

The hw, quizzes, and tests are all the exact same questions just slightly different numbers each time. There is way too much materials and help that you cannot get at least a B+ and that is not even trying hard.

Professor Hamilton is pretty much the ideal teacher for a calc class. Her lectures are very straight forward and she posts tutorial videos for every problem on the homework. She is very entertaining and witty as well, would recommend!

Online lectures are posted for each unit in case you miss a class, and video walkthroughs for each homework question are created in case you're stuck. Would absolutely take again.

She was the BEST professor I've had! I took calculus with her, which can be a very difficult subject for some people, but Carolyn made it very easy to understand. If you follow along with her in class and take notes you will have no problems! Study guides for exams, midterm, and final, are an exact replica of what will be on the test.

Professor Hamilton is amazing, she truly is made for teaching. Not only is she extremely patient with her students, she really takes time to make sure you understand the material and how to apply it in business. However, this class was tough. I got a 92% on the midterm and then got to the final and it was just too much to remember, and I got a 68%.

I was nervous for calculus but professor Hamilton is such an amazing professor I left feeling like calculus was easy. I am not great at math and nearly aced both the midterm and the final because of how well she teaches. She lays it out clear as day how to succeed in this class and has so many resources available if you don't understand. 10/10

Take in person! It's a difficult class, but she explains everything very simply and slowly. There's also a LOT of extra. videos and after-class sessions that you can go to if you still don't get it. Best math teacher I've had in a while. Take her!

Professor Hamilton was such a great professor. If you want to succeed in this class, make sure you KEEP UP WITH THE WORKLOAD. Hamilton provides so many materials to help you succeed. The reviews are similar to the exams which is great! If you want a better grade than me keep up with the work, ask questions, and study (active recall)

Professor Hamilton is a really good professor. She teaches well and knows what she is talking about. I took MGMT2240 and finished with an A. However, you have to put in the work. It was a difficult A. Lots of studying. But all the resources are readily available and the exam material is very clear. If you do bad, it's on you.
