Hands down the best psychology professor EVER. Study guides are on point, and the tests are really easy if you come to class at least kind of regularly. Tests are always 40 multiple choice, 2 short answer, and if you don't know the answer to an essay question make her laugh. You'll get at least 3 out of 5 points. SHE'S AMAZING!!!

There are four exams and one final. She drops one of the four exams. She does lectures with powerpoints. You really have to go back and read the book, notes, and powerpoint. I presonally thought the exams were more like scenerios which kinda sucked for me but overall she is good i recommend her.

Took this class over the summer. We only had two grades - the midterm and final. I took this class on accident and it is the class I HAVE LEARNED the most from. Lorente is an awesome teacher and one will not regret taking her class. I will always remember Vygotsky, Piaget, Erikson etc. TAKE HERRRRRR

Professor Lorente is a such a nice teacher. She makes the learning environment fun and the lectures are interesting. She makes sure everyone gets involved. She posts study guides on BB and everything is from her power point lectures. There are 5 tests total in the whole class and she drops the lowest grade.

I took dev. psych with Dr. Lorente. Overall she is a good teacher, fairly clear in her explanations and really enjoys class discussion. I did take it as a 6 week summer course so it was fast paced and we only had 2 exams for our grades (midterm and the final) I stopped reading the text book and just paid attention to lectures & PP & still got an A

Took a 6 week PSY 230 with Dr. Lorente. She is a great professor! Her lectures are fun and interesting. For 6week she gives 2 test-midterm and final (mult choice+2 essay questions) tests are somewhat difficult. Learned a lot from her! Thanks Dr. Lorente:)

Professor Lorente is amazing! This is the second class I've taken with her. She's brilliant! She talks about her own research a lot. She has a lot of good information. She does lectures and maybe 1 or 2 group activities. She's fair, as far as grading goes, and if you pay attention, you'll do fine. she gives study guides. She's very helpful!

Took 3 of her classes, she nice and patient, but don't take advantage, easy A if you read, she gave 5 test (thats including midterm and final) but will drop the lowest grade.

Honestly such an easy class. Just show up and participate is all I will say. Tests aren't hard just review everything on the study guide and u will be fine. No hw AT ALL (Atleast for Psy 235) and no quizzes either just tests. She was an amazing teacher that clearly breathes and lives for psychology. She tries engaging everyone in convos and its fun

BEST PROFESSOR EVER. She was probably they best professor I've ever had at nova! I've always been super interested in psychology already but she was so engaging and there were about 4 tests and then the final! thats it. i dont even have to tell you to attend because after the first class you'll actually want to be there

TAKE HER OMG!!!!! Tests are a little tough but she drops 1/4. So study!!! Final is cumulative. Don't leave any essay questions blank, will give points for memes and jokes.

Dr. Lorente is amazing! However, the class is a lot of work. There are 2 essays a week and two 80 question tests that require two short essays each. This was an accelerated 8-week class so the work is expected, and Dr. Lorente makes it do-able. She is very active with her online classes which I loved! I definitely learned a lot in this class.

Okay I have a lot to say in such little time! She is truly the best! Time and time again Ive had mediocre online professors but she truly is amazing! She understands you all have lives outside and will extend deadlines (just dont do it often!) Apply and participate and she will favor that! She is always available through email and easy exams!!!

Took the class online during Covid-19. Everything was pretty much straight forward. If you do the work, you'll get an A. Lowest assignment grade is dropped. The study guides are worthless. 3 Exams, 8 assignments, 1 group project, a few easy assignments. Overall, Read the book and learning curves to pass the exams, do the easy work and get an A.

I have had Dr. Lorente multiple times now and she might be my favorite professor at NOVA. Super nice, not a lot of homework, really interesting lecture topics (though I'm biased because I'm a psych major). She asks everyone about their lives and she genuinely cares. We stan Dr. Lorente.

The class was so organized and I learned a lot about myself and about psychology from her class. Lectures were always engaging and she loved hearing students' perspectives. Every week there was a discussion post and 1 or 2 really easy learning curve activities. Discussion posts can be lengthy but they really open your eyes to new ideas. 4 easy test

Professor Lorente is the best professor I had this semester. She is really nice, her class is really easy, with that being said I was confused at the beginning but in the end I managed to end her class with an A. For the most part the assignments she has you complete usually consist of discussion boards which are usually easy.

Dr. Lorente is very passionate about the subjects she's teaching, but can definitely get sidetracked by students' questions. Discussion boards are necessary, are assigned every week, and some can require lengthy responses. Otherwise homework is graded for completion and tests are open book. Very chatty but very kind. There is a discussion board every week. They can be very lengthy at times but they are not that bad. Also there are learning curve which is very easy and 4 exams in total and a final. She is very passionate about what she teaches so it was very interesting.

I took an accelerated class asynchronously and it was not that bad. 2-3 modules every week and a few assignment. Honestly the Macmillan learning thing is useless and I don't find it's related to the exam. But overall if you put your work into it, you will definitely get an A.

A midterm and final that are 80 mc questions and 2 short answer questions. She gives study guides before each test. Tests are straightforward and simple. She is super sweet!

I took her PSY 230 asynchronous accelerated course. There was a good amount of essays but they were all very straightforward and not too bad (the longest I spent on an essay in her class was 5 hours). I didn't study for any of the three exams and got a 75,76, and 78 and took each exam in an hour and 30 minutes. She was really sweet too!

Amazing Professional who cares about her work and her students. I enjoyed her connection to information she taught to her real life experiences. Her feedback was very helpful regarding assignment and test grades. Overall, one of the best professors you can take! Be prepared to apply yourself and utilize APA style in all writing assignments.

Best psy professor I've had so far. Lorente is extremely kind and has engaging lectures. Weekly homework consists of some simple Macmillan Learning q&as and then a discussion board that will require a little reading. The discussion boards are challenging but not hard, right in that "zone of proximal development". Great class for all majors.

Mrs. Lorente is an amazing teacher. The class mainly consists of lectures where she tells you all the things that will be on the exams. The weekly assignments are readings and discussions and the 4 exams she has are open book and open note. I would recommend her to anyone who needs to take PSY 230 or any other class she teaches.

I took the faster PSY 230 course and it was great. I was worried that I would fall behind but her curriculum and schedule made sure everyone was on track. I asked for one extension and she was very courteous and understanding. I highly recommend taking her classes. The only thing I would say is that her assignments are mostly essays after essays.

She is very nice and care person. Prepare to read chapters, and textbook so you can know concepts. This class isn't easy because it has every week essay and it is not short or simple. But it is valuable and ask reasonable things that we learned in the class. She is very sweet and I would take again if I could. Recommended and interesting class.
