this chick is HOT. PAris Hilton-like. I never missed a class. speech sucks but whatever. you do need to de well on the speeches and 2 tests.

I really liked Ms. N. She was very clear about what she expected of her students. You do need to study and prepare for speeches. I worked for my A, but it was not hard. Just read the text and practice, practice, practice your speeches.

This professor was confident but knew her stuff. She is hard when it comes to expectations but it prepares you for your speeches. Must work hard for an A but in the end it will be worth it. You leave the class knowing how to give a profesional speech!!! Take her if your serious about school.

Miss Nathan was one of my favorite teachers. She was extremely clear about what was expected so it was easy to get good grades. She was always willing to help, and she was really supportive and made getting in front of the whole class much easier. The skills I learned in this class definitely helped me become a much better speaker.

Great teacher. Really nice, pretty and funny. Very clear about assignments so it is easy to get good grades. I took the 8 week course, so classes were almost three hours, but she kept classses interesting and she is willing to stay late and help you on anything you want.

This teacher is very helpfull! She will stay after class anytime to help! You have to do your work in order to get an A, but she is very clear on her expectations. Test will have questions from the book never mentioned in class, so reading is a must.

She was really nice, everything is stated clearly. Read the book, she'll sometimes pull a question from that. She's willing to do anything to help - you do your work and you'll pass. It was pretty easy, just write a few speeches and present them - it's over pretty quickly. When the first speech is due half of the class drops so it's more relaxed.

one of my favorite teachers. she's very nice, and like other people said, she will help you with anything. makes you feel more comfortable about having to give speeches. keeps lectures interesting with funny examples. it's pretty easy to get an A if you follow the directions and turn things in on time, even if you're not a very good speaker.

C.Nathan is COMPLETELY hot. The material presented isn't revolutionary stuff, but it makes it much easier to listen to when you're professor is super-model material.She seems a bit nervous for the first 10 minutes of class though...which is ironic since she lectures a Speech class. Anyways, she's articulate, well prepared and a complete hottie.

Definitely my favorite teacher in college so far. I took public speaking and I'm going to take her interpersonal class next semester. She's super nice, energetic, and funny. Class was always interesting and fun. Directions are really clear and shes totally helpful. I would definitely recommend.

I just finished the 8 week interpersonal 135, and i'm so glad i decided to take it. It was really fun and easy, but it also relly helped improve how I get along with my girlfriend and my boss. the teacher is really smart and funny and knows a lot about the topics. Class always kept me interested, plus it's always a bonus when the teacher's HAWT!!

Very,very cool teacher. Most people hate taking speech, but she makes it very enjoyable. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly like you are sitting at a coffee shop with some friends. If you need to take this class, take it from her.

Carolyn is a wonderful teacher. This is my second course with her after taking Speech 103. She is always willing to assist student and takes time to give you good feedback. I normally do not participate in class but she make it fun. I would highly recommend taking her course. She feels more like a friend and I didnt like that the class was over.

Professor Nathan knows how to make a long class fun and actually enjoyable. I can't believe how much useful/real world information I am learning! She asks for input and actually listens. If you pay attention in class and read the book (which is a great book I plan on keeping) you are going to get an A with no problem. Such a great teacher! A+!

I learned so much in this class. It was great to have a professor who felt like she was someone who has lived the world, came from a great educated family and was open to share with us about her own personal experiences. She made a short term long class very tolerable. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

This was such an amazing class! The teacher is so nice! she's totally honest and relatable and she designs the class so all the activities are fun and help make everyone in the class feel commfotrable with each other. I wish Miss Nathan was teaching another course I could take in fall.

Good teacher, at first I did not think I would like the class because she was not very organized. But it is a pretty easy class. You just need to participate in class and do your homework. The tests she could have gave a little more information about what was going to be on them but overall I learned a lot from this class.

Great young teacher. Keeps class fun and interesting (and I'm in the 3 hr twice a week class). Class is mainly discussions that get interesting with note taking. Midterm was multiple choice and not hard at all. I HIGHLY recommend this class to everyone.

Beautiful woman with a beautiful mind. She's one of a kind. Easy on the eyes and easy on the brain. She opens up to the class and allows everyone to be human. A little homework and reading, a couple tests and essays, and soon enough you got yourself an easy A. Participate in class, you will pass. Just don't forget it's interpersonal. I do miss it!

Outstanding class! As you'd expect of a comms prof, Ms. Nathan's lectures were entertaining and informative. The text was easy to read. Your investment in class participation and study time will reflect your grade. Homework assignments are simple. The class will change your perceptions and improve the way you relate to people. Highly recommend.

Took her 8 week course. Class was very fair. You get tested on lecture AND reading material. Class consisted of a midterm and final (final was NOT cumulative), 1 essay (on any topic you found interesting in the class), SHORT hw assignments, participation points (must participate at least 10 times throughout the sem). Prof was awesome and super nice

Such an amazing professor! I am a Comm. major so this is a little biased but I absolutely loved her and this class and looked forward to attending it each week. She's so passionate about what she teaches its impossible to not pay attention. There's 2 exams: Midterm & final. They're challenging only because there's a lot of material that you must memorize. Participation pts, short hw assignments, and one final paper. That's it! It's such an amazing and I would highly recommend it.

I took Ms. Nathan Fall of 2014, short eight week class. Personally speaking her class was fairly easy, with attendance being mandatory; miss two and you're dropped. Her class consisted of two tests: Mid-tern & Final. With that being said, her lectures were overall boring. Spoke about random topics that related to comm. Easy A if you study.

While I found her class fairly easy and the material interesting... I felt she needed some work. She's not organized - don't expect to know where you stand in the class grade-wise because she doesn't return ANY of your homework. She's very condescending and slightly annoying with all her stories and she's not clear on what she tests on!

I personally wouldn't recommend her class unless you're into rumor discussions of other people and your ex and current relationships. The book's material is definitely interesting and applicable in your real life. 2 exams on 5 chapters each and no idea what will be there. Unorganized, the class never started on time.

I would highly recommend this class. Lectures are really interesting and the teacher is very funny and cares for her students a lot. You learn a lot about yourself and how to improve your communication. Tests are fair and clear and easy if you study.

She is a great teacher, very nice and willing to help you understand the material. Make sure you study the book AND lecture notes and you will pass guaranteed. The interpersonal communications course she taught was overall interesting, entertaining, and worth coming to class for! Make sure to participate and you'll be fine.

I HIGHLY recommend this class. Very outgoing. Fantastic lectures. I did all my homework and participation so I only needed to get 78% on the two exams in order to receive an A in the class.

Professor Nathan is very personable and her class is extremely lecture heavy. Be prepared to study the book because if you go off her lectures you will not pass. She is very willing to work with her students and was easy to communicate with. You MUST participate in the class discussion in order to pass. Also, she can get long winded.

I just finished an 8 week class and I was sad when it ended (a lot of people were, so I wasn't the only nerd lol). The professor is very nice and makes everyone feel comfortable. I definitely improved my communication because of what I learned. This has been my favorite class at Mesa.

Carolyn was a great teacher. She is very friendly and she makes class interesting. You get a lot of points just for showing up to class and participating, so it is easy to do well. I still think about things that I learned in this class when I'm communicating with people now.

I took Carolyn's class last semester and my boyfriend is taking it now. We both really liked it. She is really nice and wants her students to do well.

She is an amazing prof and had very interactive classes. I am talkative which is very very useful in the class, you also get to talk about yourself and she helps you improve on the spot. If you don't talk at least once per class your self-graded participation can be crappy. Homework was easy to do would take 10-20 minutes majority of times.

Carolyn is awesome! She knows so much about the subject. She gives a lot of specific advice in class about how to improve your communication which was really useful. The class is more a discussion than a lecture. It is very easy to do well if you participate and do your homework (which takes very little time).

I would definitely recommend this professor! I just finished an 8 week class and it was the best class I have taken at Mesa. You analyze your own communication and improve yourself a lot. You may not like it if you are super shy because you are required to participate, but the participation is really easy and you don't have to give any speeches.

Carolyn is amazing! I just took her 8-week course for Com 135. She is so pleasant and fun in every way. Really makes you comfortable in class. Lots of EASY homework, but do read the book and study for the tests. No speech in this class! (Other profs who teach the same class require 1 speech) But you have to participate. She makes it fun!

I took this class for the 3rd time because the other two coms135 professors I had werent good. She is an amazing professor participation matters, she gives you a participation packet with 10 pages as long as you participate and do your homework you will pass her class! I took the 8 week course and passed with a B! Shes very funny and has stories.

Carolyn is the best. Our class had an amazing vibe because everyone felt so comfortable . She is so kind and knowledgeable about the subject. And she is always available to help. I am really thankful for everything I learned in this class.

My favorite thing about this professor is that you can tell she loves what she does. I really appreciate her thorough syllabus and explanation of how to pass her class. The class I'm taking is a once-a-week 3 hour class and I have not been disappointed once. She makes it easy to participate which makes it easy to earn a good grade.

I just finished taking the final for this class. It was my favorite by far. Prof is amazing. She cares about her students so much. Everything you learn applies to real life so it is really useful. If you participate and do your homework, you will get a good grade. she gives really clear instructions and lectures are always interesting.

This is one of the best professors at Mesa, and this statement is coming from a junior) well experienced with Mesa professors. This class will literally improve your life if you practice what you learn. I will say though that communication points could be hard to earn for people who have anxiety :/ could potentially kill GPA. Overall, A++++++++!!!

Literally the best professor at Mesa (coming from a 2nd year Mesa student). She makes 3 hour lectures feel like 1 hour lectures. Youll learn so much stuff that will benefit your life. Material is easy to understand and memorize. Just show up, read the chapters before class, study, and youll get an A. Best class Ive ever taken!

Your grade mostly revolves around participation and homework that is not hard at all. There are 2 exams which she does not provide a study guide for. Exams were difficult, but if you do all your homework and participation points, even if you do bad on your exam, you'll get a passing grade. Almost impossible to fail her class.

Professor Nathan was an amazing professor. I took her course for the 8 week session and passed with flying colors. She's the reason I chose to major in communications. Her stories are funny and there is a lot of opportunities to participate to talk about our experiences of how we treat other people. This was the best class that I've taken yet!

She is a professor who is realistic and cares for her students. When COVID-19 forced her in-person communication class online she took the time to adjust her curriculum and grading system to make it simple and easy for her students.

The class consists of 2 Exams, small homework assignments, 10 recorded participation attempts, attendance, and very little extra credit. However the class isn't all that difficult so long as you pay attention, show up and pretend like you know wtf is going on. Exam wise you will either make it or break it but quizlet will be your best friend.

This was a great class!! Instructions are extremely clear and the way she sets up Canvas is very simple and easy to use. My class was 8 weeks so it was on Zoom the whole time, but the way she does participation gets everyone involved. I was surprised how much it felt like a real class which I really appreciated. You learn skills that you can use.

This Class Was One Of My Favorite Classes I Have Ever Taken. This class is a really easy, fun, and stress free. The classwork is small, easy to get done, and stress free. Participate, it's not hard, share an experience and or a definition of a term and there you go. She is a caring teacher and her zoom meetings are really fun. Take this course!!

I just took an all-online 8-week communication class at Mesa and I feel like I learned a lot. We covered a lot of information in just 2 months, and Ms. Carolyn made it all interesting. Participation is required each class, but this is interpersonal communication so... no surprise there. All in all, I'd recommend taking a class from this professor.

Great professor. Took an 8 week course and covered a ton of information, but she kept it interesting and easy to stay engaged. You do need to read the textbook for the midterm and the final, and be present and participate in class for credit. You don't need to say a lot though, and the classwork assigned is pretty light and for the most part fun.

Professor Carolyn is probably my favorite professor. It was my first zoom course and her class made me feel like we were still in class. The discussions are fun and I looked forward to seeing my peers. It definitely changes the atmosphere when the class participates. I was able to grab a friend from zoom and connected outside of school. Just talk!

Take her class!!! she is such a caring human being! the lecture is easy and fun. quizlet is your friend to prepare for the exam, homework is easy, not heavy, but please, PLEASE promise me you will get all of your participation points (you only need to participate 10 times). I would've gotten an A if I got all my participation points :(

Carolyn is a comms prof so it goes w/o saying that she communicates really well! This class wasn't the easy A I thought it would be but ended up being more informative and engaging than I had anticipated as well. Make sure you do your readings. A huge chunk of your grade depends on your class participation so be ready to speak up in class!

If anyone also deals with anxiety/shyness and is worried about speaking in a COM course, take this class! Professor Carolyn is such a sweetheart! So easy to talk to and her lectures were never boring (I learned so much in becoming a more competent communicator). Take note that tests have problems that are more concept-based. Prof Nathan was easily one of the best professors I have had. She's very helpful, explains well, and will make sure you understand. Grades on participation but not hard you just need to comment on things or add input. She explains her assignments well and makes sure you get them done. She tells real life stories which makes it easy to understand.

If speaking in a group environment is something that stresses you out, Professor Nathan creates a very open environment for discussion. While participation is a large part of your grade, you're given opportunities to miss participation without consequence. Be sure to look over the syllabus because her curriculum is clearly laid out!

Professor was very nice. Assignments were very easy. As long as you participate and read the book you should be fine. I would 100% take her class again.

AMAZING! its so easy to get an A and you get extra credit every single class if you say anything. its impossible to fail and honestly even with barley any effort you'll get an A. Her homework is really easy and honestly fun they consist of personal experience and personality quizzes to find out about yourself and no actual quizzes.

Carolyn is absolutely wonderful, I was dreading taking a communications class because it was required for my major, but she has made it so much fun to be in her class I would take this class again if I could! Participation is mandatory because ya know, it's a communications class, but she makes it so easy and inviting to participate!

Her teaching style and ability to convey the material clearly were truly remarkable. She fostered an environment that encouraged active participation through thought-provoking discussions, engaging group activities, and expression. This approach made the classes more enjoyable and facilitated deeper comprehension and application of the material.

Caring and fun to interact with in class. She encourages open dialogue, and you have to participate for credit. She is a nice person and likes to conduct polls in the class and hear different angles. Very engaging and her grading is not tough. Show up, participate, and study for tests. Not much else to it.

SUCH AN EASY CLASS! VERY short & simple homework assignments every week. You will need to read a chapter a week from the textbook. Carolyn is also sweet & explains everything very well. LOTS of extra credit opportunities. A 3-hour online class at night was not for me though! Only 2 exams w/ 50 questions but I didn't love how they were 50 minutes

This professor is fantastic! I usually struggle with professors, but she has definitely earned a top spot on my list. Her class is straightforward, and getting an A is a breeze. She's consistently engaged and readily available whenever I need assistance.

This class is very easy to receive an A. Carolyn is very funny, intuitive, and does her best to make everyone feel understood. The tests are open book. There's only one short homework assignment a week and two tests. Super easy and enjoyable. You also get a chance to work on your relationships and communications skills.

took this class 3 times and failed the first two because of course workload was too overwhelming with other professors, but her class was a breeze. even though you have to show up to classes and participate, she made assignments easy to understand and gives half credit for late work. points-based class and gives extra credit.
