good teacher, tests require studying, a lot of extra credit, if you care you wont have problems getting an 'A'

Mrs. Mallory is a very caring teacher who will do anything for her students. She treats you like a college student. No problem getting an "A" if you attend regularly and do the work.

She's a very good teacher. If you get something wrong on an assignment she'll give you another one to do and youll get your credit on the original. very funny. loves her stuff. great lab class. just brings sunscreen on those when you have to work outside!

Do all the extra credit that she allows. It will help becaue she gives a quiz every class. She does this so she can make people attend the class. She won't drop any so extra credit helps make up for them. Quizzes are usually group quizzes. Tests are open notes with a study guide. Good teacher.

Enjoyable prof with evident passion for the subject, students and the school which makes class more engaging. Keeping up with reading is important in lecture, lab is decidedly easier - lots of group work and night session uses telescopes! In the lecture, studyguides are allowed on exams. Recommended

She's a cool teacher.Very into astronomy. Just make sure you attend every class for you want an A. She gives quizes every week. Do some extra credit, and youll be good to go. And make sure you do the study guides she gives, cuz theyre very helpful on the tests

Tests start out easy, but end up quite hard. She gives a study guide for each test and you are allowed to use them on the exams. SHE EMPLOYS TRICK QUESTIONS on her exams, but still easy to pass. Loads of extra credit. Take her for the lab class too!

go to class and it is impossible to not get an "A". she's a little weird but super sweet

She's great and fair, and won't cheat you by dumbing down the material. You'll do well as long as you show up and pay attention.

She's awesome! She uses props and visual aids to really help in understanding complex theories. Quite smart and entertaining, she can answer nearly anything off-hand. Offers loads of extra credit and has a genuine interest in helping students learn. I intend on taking another of her classes soon!

Good teacher, very sweet, and genuinely cares about all of her students. The only thing I didn't like was she gave tests and quizzes to close to the end of class. Other than that, I really liked her and would take a class with her again. Offers loads of Xtra Credit, which is a plus!!!

She is so easy. If you study the study guide you should be able to get an A in her class. She is also funny. She tries to entertain you by doing weird things. I highly recommend her, cuz tests are easy!!

Very nice lady as a person. She tries so hard to help you pass, but can get so off the subject during her lectures, which makes it hard to follow. Quiz every class, lectures before each test, exta credit will cost you $$$. She is totally the girl version of Bill Nye the Science Guy!!!

This is my favorite teacher at pierce. She is dedicated, passionate, and will go out of her way to help you get the highest possible grade. Her notes are not very helpful unless she circles it in red. Lots of extra credit! Use her study guides.

If she wasn't married to an already nice gentleman I would have stole her heart years ago. If you love looking at the stars than take this class. I've seen Globular Clusters through a 60 inch because of this class.

Sweet, friendly, eccentric. You might think you're doing badly in her class at first, but the semester gets easier. If you do the extra credit you should be able to get an A. Just try not to miss class cuz you'll lose points for the lab which you can't make up.

She is a nut but in a really funny way. This class is hard and the lectures are pointless as far as your notes. She gives a lot of x-tra credit but you really do have to work for your grade. She allows study guilds on tests but you really have to crame the information onto them. Fun teacher Hard class

Easily the best teacher Ive ever had. She's kind, considerate and genuinly tries to help you. The class is not easy, but she makes it worth the effort.

Study for an hour every week and you will get an A. She also offers a lot of extra credit. A very interesting class that will blow your mind if you open the book from time to time. Mrs. Mallory is very helpful, nice and knows her material. Be sure to go to the trips that are planned.

Professor Mallory is the best professor I have ever had. This class is for students who really want to learn and is not easy, but she will do anything and everything she can to help you pass, including a lot of fun extra credit. If I can get an A after being out of school for 22 years, any one can. Thank you Professor Mallory for really caring!

All in all, Professor Mallory was an extremely sweet, dedicated teacher that I enjoyed learning from. But there were certain times where I thought she was a little crazy. haha. But to tell you the truth, the test questions really ALL come from the book. If you fill out the study guide it will help... But it's best if you read the book before a test

I LOVE HER!!! so helpful, loves her students. i learned so much not only cause i love the subject, but also because she taught so much. ill admit some parts were boring. however her ec was really fun. its not THAT easy of a class..so study. its really rewarding.

Fantastic class and a great teacher. If you want to get a good grade in Astronomy take her. She gives study guides that can be used on every test, and a good portion of the questions from the test are on the study guide. Really tough class, didn't even pass.. I attended all classes, took all the tests and passed all the quizzes.. still ended up with a D... even did alot of extra credit. U have to be real interested in Astronomy to pass, otherwise real boring and hard.

She is a terrific teacher.I took her class a few years back,and after taking many more professors,I can really appreciate her caring for teaching and students.We had a trip to the observatory (only a few people got to go),it was an unforgettable experience.If you get a chance, try to go.But,it was not an easy class,and one really needs to study.

Lab Class. Very good teacher. Cares a lot for how well her students are doing. Recommended definitely. She is very down to earth but if you do not put in the effort she will give you the grade you deserve. Overall I enjoyed the class. Do the Extra Credit Astro meetings!

EASY lab! Astronomy is not the most interesting subject, but Professor Mallory made the classes enjoyable. She really does care about her students & wants them to do well. Offers you plenty of extra credit, so there is no reason why you can't get an A. Gives worksheets every lab meeting, so be sure you are not absent-no makeups. Easy class!

A very compassionate teacher but a bit frazzled. Ignore everyone who said her class is hard - the typical Pierce student is stupid & lazy so when a teacher gives a reasonable amount of homework & tests those students just don?t want to put in any effort. The work she gives is very reasonable & offers lots of e.c. Because of her class I love astro!

I had to post a review, after reading these negative comments. I'm a hard-working student and I managed to score a B. I completed my homework and opted for a few extra credit assignments. You'll be working fairly hard during this class, and if you're not afraid of that, then take this class. She's a little nutty, but I think it's awesome!

Very good teacher. Her satire is hilarious, and people who don't understand it call her "crazy." One of the nicest teachers I've ever had, and she's unbelievably dedicated. She will come no matter what, even if 30 minutes have passed, stay or she'll call you. Quizzes weekly that she gives answers to. Very, Very good teacher.

She seems a bit batty and talks to her students as though they are her beloved grandchildren. Don't mistake this for something it's not, she sees and hears virtually everything that occurs around her. Do the assignments, don't miss class and try to take advantage of the copious amounts of extra credit she offers. Stay off your phone.

Professor Mallory gives pretty much work, but you have to study to finish college. And I don't care if she gives you work because if you screw something up you can make enough points to get back a good grade.

Professor Mallory has real passion for Astronomy very easy to listen to her talk. She gives 10% extra credit so you have a chance you letter grade a whole grade just on extra credit. Go to class for lecture she will tell you what is on the test. Gives in depth study guides for test and lets you use study guide answers during test.

she's a really good professor, she's there for you and always willing to help but I guess I was disappointed because we didn't get to use the telescope so much, she's a very nice person though

Professor Mallory is a gem. Loved her Astronomy Lab and all the great experiments/projects. Thank goodness for extra credit because this course is not exactly a piece of cake. Take the lecture and lab with her at the same time for better comprehension. Ask many questions, participate and BE ON TIME! Very approachable professor and incredibly fun.

Prof. Mallory is an amazing woman. She's an active Astronomer so has very up to date info that she includes in her lectures. Lots of visual aides and has a great sense of humor. Don't skip class or you will be dropped. BE ON TIME. Tests are tough so read the book. I respect prof. Mallory and plan to keep in touch. Her Star/Moon parties rock!

Professor Mallory really cares about teaching and her main concern is that you understand. SWEETEST TEACHER EVER! Will do anything to make sure you pass her class. Makes learning astronomy fun. Tests every week on the chapters read, 3 exams including the final, exams are open note. Great teacher.

She is a very kind and caring person with positive attitude But gets confused. Do ALL of the Extra Credit and you can pass with that. I don't like to be stereotype but I do believe because of her age she lacks in her lectures. She constantly turns off and on her projector and doesn't know how to turn it back on. Very nice professor just not good.

I recently took her for Winter Session Astronomy 001 . I truly enjoyed going to her class. She really trips you out at times with her funny yet weird comments. She's very smart and if you don't understand something just communicate with her. Super easy to talk to. Stay on top of your homework and it will be a easy class.
