She is a great teacher! Test is a little hard but you will learn a lot a lot. You will take a lot of notes. Her lecture is amazing. She does not follow step by step accoridng to the book chapter but as long as we understand her lecture, it is awesome class. I never missed her class during entire semester.

GREAT, FUN CLASS!! She is an amazing teacher! I loved her class. I would take her again if I wasn't trying to graduate early. She is VERY clear on what she says. If you read like she tells you and pay attention then you will have NO PROBLEM PASSING! Great teacher, just don't try to test her, she means what she says and says what she means!

I love this woman!!! She's the best teacher you will ever have. She seems very strict at first, but she's actually really nice and understanding. But that's just a bonus; her teaching style is phenomenal. She has so much clarity that other professors sometimes lack. She makes sure you know exactly what she's talking about; refreshing.

Mrs. Coston is a really nice lady. My 1301 class was pretty easy. She mainly uses class time to lecture. The only homework she gives us in online quizzes which aren't too bad because you can use your book. She makes her tests straight from the book so reading your book would be a good idea. She lets you use a cheat sheet on the test! Great class!

I can't say enough good things about Ms.Coston! she is an amazing teacher! no one looks forward to history class, but I went to every class because she made it so interesting. She give one or two homework assignments and you can bring a cheat sheet to tests. GREAT teacher! i would take her class again in a heart beat if i could!

I loved her class. It is not an easy class if you don't pay attention to her lectures. However her lectures are not boring at all and don't make you fall asleep. You can concentrate on what she is saying because you don't have to take notes because she posts all of her power points online. It is the best history class I've ever taken!

Amazing history teacher! Made my 8:45am history class SUPER interesting and fun! Test were difficult but as long as you make at least a 70 on both you can still make an A. Just do and turn in all assignments. Final was a little easier than the other exams.

She is the only teacher I have had that made history interesting. She is very helpful as well, I would definitely take her again if I could.

Took this as an online class and it's basically what you would expect. Lots of reading in the book for your info. She posts video lectures , but it's not necessary to watch them however they do help understand the material better. Make sure you do the assignments because they can affect your grade the most. I missed a few but still ended up with B

Ms. Coston actually made History really interesting. She was a stickler for the rules, but an awesome teacher. She'll keep you till the very end of the class' time, and she scolded the entire class for packing their backpacks before. LOL Tests were a bit hard, and had to be taken at the Bullock lab. The participation assignments were crucial.

I took history 1301 with Professor Coston as a minimester. It was not difficult at all, and I learned a lot. I spent plenty of time reading - which should be expected. She is very helpful and constantly emails you reminding you when things are due. I would definitely recommend this course if you are looking for a quick and not too difficult class

She is an amazing professor! I took her for HIST 1301 & 1302 and I made A's in both. Her tests are hard but you get to take a cheat sheet in with you while taking the test. Also, her class is all lecture, but she tells you exactly what you need to know for the test & gives extra credit. You must read the book, there are quizzes on each chapter.

I took her online spring class and she is very clear on what needs to be done and emails you weekly reminding you what is due. Reading from the textbook is necessary but thats basically with almost every class. She is so sweet and responds to every email. Taking her for my summer history 1302 class!

Professor Coston is very knowledgeable and uses a variety of resources. Keep in mind that her exams are hard to prepare for and she grades very strictly (with lots of notes explanations) and there are not enough assignments to help your grade. I appreciated this professor and her teaching style. However, a good grade is difficult to achieve.

She is an AMAZING teacher. You will need to use the textbook for quizzes. Do not use your phone in class. Show that you care about the class. If you have questions email her she replies within a day or so. She gives extra credit!

The class is a lot of work but she is a great women who cares about her students. She does a lot in terms of lecture and makes sure we have all the information we need. If you do the work and study really hard, you'll be fine.

Took this for mini online class but this was way too much work. Tests are proctored and you have to pay to take the test. You can go take it at Blinn for free. She is not the worst prof. but if you can take someone else I would recommend that. Quizzes were on quizlet. You have something due almost every weekday. Tests are kinda hard. She curves.

Don't listen to all the complainers below. Coston is a fine teacher! She will make you learn and earn the material. If you are lazy or not interested in history go elsewhere. The class is very possible to complete. I work 45-60 hours a week and I'm making an A.

Coston is a fine professor who cares about her students. It is totally possible to make an A. Take all negative reviews lightly they are usually posted by disgruntled people who have no business in college anyway. Dont allow one persons failure to determine your outcome shes great.

I failed US HIST II the first time (instructor was far too hard for me) and had to retake the class. I found Professor Coston for an online class over the summer and I cannot recommend her enough. She explains concepts easily, and actively keeps you engaged with the material. If you failed US HIST II, consider taking her class. You won't regret it.

I had Ms. Coston for both of my history classes at Blinn, in person not online. So I cannot comment on her online classes. But her in person classes were very interesting. She is really good and keeping the material interesting. She's not just going to hand out A's to those who don't earn it. But, as long as you try, you'll do just fine.

Ms Coston isn't an easy "A"! If you expect to do nothing, & learn nothing then take another professor. I ended up in her class because of my schedule.. I had read the negative reviews, but really needed the credit. Yes, you have to actually read your text, do the assigned work, & put in some effort! Her lectures are good, I am glad I stuck w/it

Best professor I've ever had. The way she teaches helps me understand History way better than I ever did before. She goes into depth on everything and uses clear examples about the subject. You can tell she loves the subject and that makes it fun to learn.

Mrs. Coston had a very good curriculum. This course was organized with detailed instructions and deadlines. The videos were a lot of help and the different types of projects were very helpful and informational. Her exams focus on lectures and assignments, not all textbook.

I loved this class! It is clear that Carrie Coston cares about her students and she is an expert in the subject. Her assignments were relevant and helped me better understand the topics. This course as a Maymester required a lot of time. There is something due almost every day and the deadlines were 10am. But overall, I really enjoyed this course!

She is a great instructor who enjoys teaching and encourages students to ask for help. She used different ways to teach so its not just lecture all the time. The Inquizative activities helped a lot and she lets students use a cheat sheet on exams. I would take her again if I needed another history class.

Took her online class, she was really nice and definitely cares a lot about history. She always responds quickly to emails and give a lot of information on her ecampus page. The only drawback is that she includes a lot of info that is unnecessary for the tests and quite a few students were left unsure of what they should focus their studying on.

Professor Coston is without a doubt my favorite professor. She gives at least 2 ways to get huge amounts of extra credit (one of which is the CARS mentoring program) and allows a cheat sheet for exams and the use of the book on the final. This is not a blow off class so dont be lazy. If you do the work, its easy to get an A.

very good professor. tests are lecture based so if you take it online make sure you watch the lecture.... i made that mistake. makes extra credit extremely accessible and easy. overall if you're looking for an easy professor she is not the one for you. if you're looking for a professor that cares and makes you work, she's perfect.

Hands down the best online class I've taken. There's a good mix of lectures, movies & videos so it doesn't get repetitive or boring. The first week is tough but the second eases up. She is a fair grader and as long as you watch/read what is assigned (I didn't even read all of the textbook) you will do very well. I hate history but LOVED this class!

Prof. Coston has been the most thorough professor I've had. Her lectures cover everything the textbook doesn't, she allows you as many practice questions as you could want, and she gives feedback on her grading criteria. She's very responsive to emails and is very helpful. If I don't make an A in this class, I was slacking.

Prof. Coston was so helpful! If I had a question she got back to me in a reasonable amount of time and was able to direct me to additional resources to help me succeed. Her lectures are very interesting and she's passionate about history. She makes fun projects for the semester to keep students engaged. I definitely would take her class again!

In my honest opinion, Ms. Coston is the best teacher you could get for this class. She is kind and willing to listen always. Just get your work done and come to class. That's all you need to do. And also pass your tests of course. Good luck!

Prof. Coston adds curves to the exams, and the homework assignments don't close until the hard deadline, so it's easy to get a 100 on all of them. The exams can be difficult, but the tip is to study her lectures and additional resources she provides 70% of the time and the book 30% of the time. Discussion heavy, but has clear grading criteria.

I loved her class. It was hands down the best online class I've ever taken. I never liked history and Costons course was incredible. I wish I had her for a full semester and not just a minimester.

I can't even begin to express my gratitude to this teacher, she is so amazing, the class was easy and she is very fair. Without giving away everything, I will tell you that all you need to do is be active, TURN IT IN. Even if it is two words and you think you are gonna fail you would be surprised. I really appreciated that Prof Coston wrote individual comments about my work even though she had a lot of students in an online class. I ended up learning a lot more about American history than I expected to.

Of all the online classes I have taken at Blinn, Professor Coston's class is one of the best. It's organized and the material is interesting. She also meets with students even if you can't make office hours. Great experience.

"you have to read the textbook" "there are assignments" "tests are hard" yeah... it's a college course... If you were expecting anything less then you shouldn't be in college. Overall the course was very interesting. I never liked history until taking her class. Would recommend!!
