She is a VERY VERY VERY NICE Prof...she is funny and interesting too.
Wonderful teacher, and she's interesting!!
easy to listen to
She is nice and funny a bit scattered but she really knows her stuff!!
she's funny and super nice, someone who wouldn't be bad talking to out of class and I like her teaching style. The best psych. prof. we have here at WSU...
Very cool teacher, she explains things well, assignments are cake. Test aren't hard if you just study her notes, the book is pretty much worthless. I got a B in my sleep, I probably could've gotten an A.
Everything you do and cover in class has meaning, and will be on the mid-term and final. She is very clear with what is on the tests. Yes, it's alot of work, but she is very helpful, and doing the work will really help you along in the class.

I dreaded this class before I took it...I think having her teach it helped me succeed in it...be ready for LOTS of work, though...if you are smart the lectures will get boring, because she will slow down and go over things until EVERYONE gets it
very helpful. knows her stuff-tries to make it interesting. one of the better psych profs.
Informal,humourous,charismatic prof.Helpful & caring,handles obnoxious students well,sensitive to culture,thorough and clear in lectures.Cheers Dr Fried!
She is a good prof. The tests are not easy, but read and study a lot and you'll do well.
She is an amazing teacher, one of the best on campus. Definitely try to get in her class. Her tests are sometimes not very easy, but if you study your notes you should be fine.
She has a great personality, explains things like she's having a conversation with you about something you really want to know. I learned alot in her class
She is a wonderful teacher
AWESOME prof. Knows what she is talking about, willing to help, VERY fair and knows how to enjoy what she does!
Awesome prof! One of my favorites in the psych department. Really knows what she's talking about, uses lots of great studies to back up the info. Have learned a lot from the class. I was intimidated by the tests at first, but they're not that bad.
Cheasy jokes somtimes, but is a great prof., take her if you can, she will help you w/ any ?'s, tests aren't that hard as long as you read and go to class, very enjoyable, tells interesting stories sometimes
very effective, personable, and fair. Definitely recommend her to other students. Tests aren't bad at all if you read text and go to class.
Give great examples. As long as you show up for class, take decent notes, and read the book you should be fine. She also give a lot of extra credit.
I enjoyed taking her class. If you take psyc take it with her. She gives good examples. Lots of extra credit. Read the book and study your notes and you will be fine!
Makes psychology fun
Great teacher, really makes psyc fun, and that makes her class pretty easy and you'll learn a lot with her as well. I skipped on buying the book, so I haven't read a single page, all I do is pay attention and take notes and I'm getting over 100%.
She is a very nice professor. She relates the topics to real people often. She has some really goofy stories which makes her fun. I'd recommend her. You won't for sure get an A but you have a good chance if you actually pay attention!
Fried rocks, tons of extra credit and explains topics very well. Gives good examples that relate to the topics. Very few questions out of book.
Hard tests but study well and you'll get a B or better. She really really knows what she's talking about. Good prof.
Her class is all lecture, and an occasional video. She is very interesting, fair and easygoing. I would recommend Fried.
Her lecture is very boring.
If you are smart don't take this teacher, her lecture is very boring. And she likes to give extra point.
Her lecture is very boring, if you want to get A take her, but if you want to know something about psy. take Miene Peter.
She seems nice but she is not. She is just read powerpoing paper. You can go and print it from internet. Boring class. You can get easily A.
i can't believe someone said she isnt nice....she is so nice and really wants us to succeed. She is genuine and interested in her students. a great teacher!
I don't know what people are talking about when they say she is boring. - learn interesting things. I read the chapters once and studied the notes and I'm doing fine. She has extra credit opportunities but you have to write a one page paper or psych studies. I recommend Fried as well.
not a bad prof. notes are all powerpoint, which helps alot, as long as you read and understand whats going on, and maybe even do some of her extra credit opportunites, you will most likely pass this class!
This class is pretty interesting. You do have to listen to lecture and read the book to do well. Not a hard class though, and she keeps it fun.
She is a good professor. She makes the tests easy. She doesn't like when you talk in class. She doesn't read the assignments you hand in. She gives extra credit every week.
She is very nice and this is an easy and interesting class.
Best professor ever.
_incredably_ clear, great professor
Fried is extremely personable and has a lot of energy about what shes teaching! She offers extra credit every week & provides you with what EXACTLY is covered on the tests! She's got a great personality and enjoyable to learn from!
she is full of energy and really likes psych. Go to class and take notes and you should do fine.
She's a good teacher. Go to class, and take notes. Also read the book, most of the questions on the test come from the book, some from the notes. Homework is easy and I don't think she even reads it. Also gives extra credit opportunities. Overall, she's a good teacher.
She is a hoot! very energetic and has some good stories. Made us laugh a lot. Very organized and tells you exactly what will be on the test. Read the book and go to class and you should get a decent grade.
Take all the notes, go to class, and read the chapters = A
Easy to get a B, tests are tough but hw is simple. Offers extra credit and is a good lecture.
Great professor. She knows what she's talking about and has great lections. The class itself is somewhat difficult, but she makes it better.
Awesome class! Doesn't change the grading scale at all, so do all the little extra credits she offers. 90% = A 89.9% = B No rounding...
She is a wonderful teacher who always gives realistic examples whenever covering new material. She goes in depth with all of the concepts and doesn't just lecture, but actually TEACHES.
Her class was extremely easy. She gives a easy half page assignment almost every week and her tests are 90% on lecture (so it's important to attend) and only 10% on the text. Minimal studying required if you have a good memory. She also has extra credit easily accessible just in case (and it's not hard at all either). Highly recommend her class.
Dr. Fried has an extreme amount of knowledge in her field. She loves to fully express concepts and has very memorable examples. There are a few papers but only long enough to connect the concept. She is a great professor!
Wonderful professor. Highly knowledgeable and easy to understand if you go to class and actually listen. Interesting lectures. Must study for tests, but if you do they're not bad. Would recommend the class. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! I had over 89% and got a B.
Fried is an awesome professor. She is a little wacked but she knows what she is talking about and if you pay attention in class and read the book most of the time you'll get a good grade. I got proli studied about 1 hr for each exam and got a B in the class
She is an awesome teacher. Everything that she taught she helped describe it in a way that would help me, or someone who does not understand, to better understand what she is teaching with examples that we could relate to.
Professor Fried is amazing. She makes what could easily be a very difficult class interesting. She uses a lot of examples that makes the class easy to understand. Also she provides a lot of extra credit and is easy to go in and talk to.
Super good teacher, You will get a 100% on all papers as long as you do them. Her lectures aren't required to attend but I would advise it, majority of test is based on in class lecture. Read the material if your having trouble understanding. Overall love her, I got an A in her class!
I highly recommend her as a professor! Her tests are hard, but if you study hard and read the book and go and LISTEN to the lecture and take notes you will do fine. She is very enthusiastic and cares very much about her subject. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!
Very nice and helpful. Homework is ridiculously easy. She makes the class interesting and tries her best to keep everyone engaged. You will have to read the book for tests (not a whole lot). Highly recommend!
She is very clear and will explain things for everyone to understand. Homework is easy and as long as you skim the book before tests, you'll do fine.
I really enjoyed this class. She explains EVERYTHING really well and always has examples of concepts. You need to read the book to expect an A in class without extra credit. Gives 8 easy hw assignments throughout semester and plenty of opportunities for extra credit. Take her!
She is a great professor! Always very clear about what she wants and what is going to be on the exams. She offers many opportunities for extra credit; however, she doesn't round up so do the extra credit. She is awesome and I highly recommend her to everyone.
Dr. Fried is wonderful. She seems to show a lot of interest in her class and likes to engage your attention. Her class does require studying, but I personally found the material very interesting and relevant to my life. The class is based on about 4 tests and 7 homework assignments (short essays), with an extra credit assignment.
Fried was a great prof. She explained everything well, and she offers a lot of extra credit. I hardly used my book, and got Bs on all my tests, but ended up with an A overall. I highly recommend her!
Great teacher! She made class interesting and gave examples for everything. Easy to follow and easy to understand. Works hard to keep class interesting and light. Tests are all multiple choice and if you go over your notes and skim the chapters, you'll do fine. Highly recommend taking her!
She is a nice professor and really knows what she is talking about. One of the most prepared/knowledgeable professor i have had so far. You really need to read the book and pay attention during lectures to get good grates on the tests. Tests can be difficult.
I absolutely loved this professor! She really wants her students to succeed and offers a lot of extra credit! She goes through her powerpoints in lecture and uses real world examples to help you understand. I recommend attending class just to make the class easier but it is not required. You have homework assignments each week, but they're easy!
She is awesome! She is really good at explaining all of the complex material, she throws so humor in some of her lectures. Tests can be difficult, however if you read the chapter and attend lectures, I never had a problem with them. She does offer extra credit! So take advantage of that! Overall she was one of my favorite college professors ever.
Psych & Law. I loved this with Fried. She takes input from the class on videos to explain class material in more depth. She goes over material in an easy-to-understand way. I loved this class and loved having Fried teach it. Highly recommended.
Awesome professor. No textbook, just links to online sources (saves you money). Very helpful and concise. Gives useful homework, has great review days before tests. Is personable and down-to-earth. Really enjoyed her class and learned more than expected (favorite class this semester!)
I know people absolutely love Dr. Fried, but as a non-traditional student, I didn't find her to be of much help when I would ask for clarity on things. I am not impressed with her. She can be abrasive at times, and very short with a person.
I loved Professor Fried's classes. I thought the information was very helpful, and she laid out exactly what was going to be on the exams. She was helpful when I spoke with her and emailed her, but sometimes made me feel really dumb for the questions I was asking. Besides that I really respected her and would take the class again.
She is a great professor! Would definitely take her again. She does lecture the whole time but she fun and quirky. Homework was very easy and she offers a lot of extra credit. Notes were available online and very easy to follow.
Her class is very lecture orientated. She talks from the minute you sit down to the minute you leave. She gives homework weekly but its not hard, not more than a page typed and she is a very easy grader. The tests are fairly easy just study the slides she talked about in class. (print out slides and take notes on them while she talks about them.)
Shes amazing! Does a great job, she wants you to do well.
She's great
Great Professor! She talks the entire class, and gives insight into the topic being covered. Quiz after each chapter, homework for each chapter, both super easy. There are four total tests, easy if you put in the time to review the slides, and skim the chapters in the text. Really not a hard class, just do the assignments. Lots of extra offered!
Dr. Fried is a little scattered, but cares about what she does and clearly enjoys it.
Dr. Fried is a great prof! She is really lecture heavy, but study for the tests and it's easy A. She also gives out extra credit paper opportunities every monday so it's not hard to get a good grade even if you bomb a test which you wont if you actually study. Attendance is not mandatory
Class is lecture every day, but her lectures are interesting and engaging. Tests are all multiple choice, so study vocab and main concepts before tests and you should be fine.
She is a super chill professor. Most of the questions on her exams come straight from her online quizzes and the quizzes that are optional in the textbook. I would encourage you to get the textbook, her lecture is straight from there, and it helps a lot for the exams. If you do not read or take notes, you wont do well on the exams. Grades easily.
She is a very real professor. She uses lots of great examples to help students understand psychology concepts.
Dr. Fried is one of the best professors I've had the privilege of having. She doesn't take attendance, but I loved her lectures so I would always show up to her lectures. Grades based on a few homework assignments and 4 exam plus a final. Great class!
Overall, the class was pretty easy. I got an A. I did read the textbook to get the big picture, you should if you want an A. Some questions on her exams can be taken from the TB. Her lecture notes can be hard to follow if you don't go to class to listen to her explain them. Save the all the quiz answers, she uses A LOT of them for exams!!
I had a great time taking Professor Fried this last semester. She lays out the whole semester right in the syllabus and does things right off it. Gives lots of options for extra credit. Take her!!!
Carrie taught Psych and the law really well. She kept lecture interesting by showing videos and explaining information well. She has a sense of humor and joked around with the class. There are quite a few papers but they are pretty easy to keep up with and she lets you know ahead of time what is expected. tests are easy if you read notes & chapters
DrFried was great She has weekly quizzes but were SO easy Lots of EC opportunities and you got the full HW points if you did it. The tests were tough only because they were very application based and I would say reading the textbook really helped with that She is very by the textbook and often times her quiz questions were on the exams
Dr. Fried gives lots of opportunities to earn extra credit points. Getting an A is possible, Dr. Fried recommends reading the textbook along with attending lecture, but personally I did not read the book and I received an A. Take lots of notes on what she says and less of what's on her slides. She is very caring and professional.
She's a great teacher and offers a ton of extra credit. Lectures can get long and boring but it is psych so that's to be expected. She's very easy to talk to and wants you to do well. She also has your tests graded the same day and keeps D2L up to date so you always know how you're doing. I would recommend.
Very understanding and not a boring lecturer. Gives extra credit opportunities and willing to work with you during office hours.
Dr. Fried does everything she can to make sure you can pass her class, sometimes giving extra credit when you show up on days that there are few students in the class. She does give you chances to do extra credit papers and participate in research studies which increase your understanding of the class.
I had Dr. Fried my first semester freshman year for Psychology and I honestly can say I would take it again in a heartbeat! Lectures were not boring at all and always so interesting in my opinion. Dr. Fried also gives many extra credit options, is very assessable in and out of class, wants you to do well, and really knows how to teach!
Dr. Fried is by far one of the best professors I've had in my 3 years at WSU! She is very lecture heavy, but is one of the few professors I've had that keeps me paying attention for her entire class. I've learned something during every class, and it is easy to catch up if you have to miss a class. Her tests are multiple choice and straightforward!
Dr. Fried is a fun teacher in lecture and seems to really know and enjoy what she is teaching. She makes class fun and I have learned a lot from her. She is great at interacting with the students and her material is very straightforward.
Carrie was an awesome prof. Lots of extra credit that adds up. 4 Exams that have lots of the same quiz questions so take notes when you take quizzes. Quizzes are every week online and have unlimited time and 2 tries. 7 homework assignments that are basically completion. Overall a really good professor and would 10/10 recommend.
I'm just confused by the high rating she has. Like she was fine, but not amazing? Maybe it's because I'm not a freshman psych major? Anyways, I did all the extra credit which after it all cumulates takes about 10+ hours which surmounts to really only 3.8% of EC and got a difficult A in the class. Tests were very hard (study the guide and slides).
Loved Dr. Fried! Class isn't mandatory and if you study and listened in class, the tests won't be too hard. The lecture notes are also online so if you aren't a big note taker and if you missed class, then it's accessible online. Her tests were always multiple choice and the homework was super easy. I recommend taking her for psych 210.
Dr. Fried is an awesome professor! All the assignments and quizzes are easy points to receive and there is always extra credit opportunities. Her lectures are fun to listen to and clear when it comes to knowing the material for the exams!
She doesn't try and just lets us memorize everything. I came here to learn, not to recite factoids.
Dr. Fried is a great professor! She will respond to emails fast and will be more than happy to answer any questions students have. She teaches material very well which makes the class seem easier than it is. I recommend!
Dr. Fried is amazing!! She is very heavy on lectures but is so clear and organized. I loved taking her class because of how organized she is. There is an assignment and quiz on every chapter, but they are very easy. Do the work, and study for the three or four exams and you will do great!! Take Dr. Fried!!!!
Dr. Fried is very organized in her lectures and on D2L. Her grading is always up to date and If you have a question she is always willing to answer it. Her lectures keep you engaged as they often contain interesting videos. If you show up, take notes, and study you should get an A in this class.
There are a few easy assignments and a quiz for every unit that you can take a few times. Tests are pretty easy if you go to class and pay attention. Uses PowerPoints but they are very minimal so you cant rely on them for definitions or anything. Lectures and pretty boring but you watch a lot of videos too which is nice.
Great professor who knows how to interact with her students by treating them like adults. Her lectures are fun and interactive. I would highly recommend taking professor Fried!
She had good lectures and overall a good professor, she is funny and cares about her students. Definitely recommend reading the textbook, I made the mistake of not reading it. Not much homework at all. Overall easy class.
I thought Intro to Psych was so interesting. Her lectures are amazing and overall I don't think I studied for more than 30mins for a test and I looked at the text book maybe x2. GO TO CLASS because her test questions will ask about videos and examples watched in class that aren't in the book. This was an easy A class for me.
Professor Fried is amazing! She is extremely organized and gives many opportunities to get extra credit. Gives very clear and straightforward lectures, which can get boring at times. It's almost impossible to fail this class!
Dr. Fried was a very good professor, very understanding, and very eager to answer questions in class and in emails. Highly recommend taking any classes with her. Her lectures were always entertaining and she has everything set up very organized.
She is amazing, fast responses with emails, very clear grading, provides a lot of resources for student success. Exams were pretty straight forward, 2 attempts on hw quizzes, homework assignments had lenient grading. She is very enthusiastic about psychology, didn't have to attend lecture but I looked forward to it.
Fried is such an interesting human and had some good lectures. She really intrigued me by using life examples and tying it together in lecture. I love psychology and Fried made it even better. Highly recommend intro to psych with her.
Professor Fried is excellent at describing, using references, and relating her lectures to all students. Lectures are easy to follow and information is easy to access. Professor Fried's test are difficult, but putting lots of study time makes a dramatic change. Overall, Fried's class is one worth taking.
Was a very easy class and Dr.Fried was an awesome professor to have. Very willing to work with you!
Dr. Fried is very passionate about psychology and she is very good at making lectures interesting and funny with personal examples and videos. Exams are pretty easy if you study and make sure to at least skim the textbook. Always turn work in on time, occasionally she allows make ups, but they take 10 times as long as the original.
You have to go to lectures to do well in this class, but she makes lectures so interesting and the tests are easy if you go. She is so kind and her class is structured so well. I highly recommend her, one of the best professors here.
Dr. Fried is such a fun professor and its very clear she knows what she's talking about. Labs were fun and she did not give us busy work whatsoever. The majority of the grade is based on two research papers and two presentations. Definitely look into APA Purdue Owl, because she does want students to know how to write APA :)
Dr. Fried is such a good choice when looking at professors to take Experimental Psychology with. Not only is she absolutely hilarious, she's so smart and is able to make what might seem like boring content into interesting content with stories and examples. Definitely deserves her 5/5 on this site.
This is by far my favorite professor. She lectures heavily but is very entertaining and gives good examples. Her tests are very straightforward if you attend her lectures. There are a couple of homework assignments and quizzes that go along with each chapter but are very straightforward. Highly recommend.
shes pretty chill. all classes are basically lectures and shes not over the top but also not boring when giving lecture. not too much homework, not too many quizzes, just stay up on notes
Dr. Fried is a great professor and gives lots of examples to help us remember the terms. Her tests are pretty easy but she offers lots of extra credit to boost your grade. I would definitely take her again!
Dr. Fried is pretty chill. There's not a ton of homework tests are relatively easy and she offers a lot of extra credit opportunities. Her lectures can get kind of boring but it's clear she knows what she's talking about. If you ever have her class MWF she tries to cancel on Fridays whenever she can. Her powerpoints are set up for easy notetaking
Dr. Fried is a very good professor! Her lectures are interesting with lots of examples and she has fair exams. You should attend class because he lecture notes aren't all straight forward by themsevles, you need to listen to her explain it in lecture. She also give stress reliever questions on test which are very easy points! Very understanding
Dr. Fried is a good teacher. I only skimmed the textbook; if you pay attention and take notes, you will do well.
Fried is an awesome professor. If you put effort into HW assignments, go to class, and simply review the lectures, you should have no problem passing with an A. Her exams are short and they correspond to what is taught in lecture. She also offers up to 20pts of extra credit which is helpful to make up points on exams! I highly recommend Fried! :)
very kind prof. don't rely on solely her slides, they need to be explained by her in lecture. exams aren't too hard, but studying for them can be a bit difficult. extra credit offered. easy homework assignments. free online textbook. oh, and she often lets u out early on fridays :)
Her whole class was a lecture which matched pretty well with the readings. She always made it interesting and I actually enjoyed going to class. She posts pretty good study guides, so as long as you know everything on there, do the readings and go to class you should do fine! Easy homework, the quizzes are like ten questions taken outside of class.
Fried was overall a great professor. It is a lecture-heavy course, but if you take notes, you will be just fine. Not many assignments, but the ones she does assign have very clear instructions and are overall really easy. She will give you all the points as long as you do the assignment. She offers extra credit assignments if you need them as well!
Super easy class. Attendance not mandatory but I found just showing up to class and doing my notes was good enough to get at least a B on the exams. She's very understanding and will answer a questions you have. She says that a good chunk of her test questions are textbook based but I never read the textbook and seemed to have no problem.
Dr. Fried was an amazing professor. There wasn't a lot of homework, and simple weekly quizzes you got 2 tries on. Most of the content on tests is stuff she mentions in lectures, so although attendance isn't required if you want a good grade on exams definitely attend. She responds super fast to emails and is very passionate about psychology.
Really great professor and definitely one of the best classes I've had. A lot of extra credit to make up 50 points worth of overall scores. The textbook is important and if you read that and go to her lectures you should be good. I only really went of her lectures which are accurate to her exams and pretty engaging
Dr. Fried is an engaging lecturer who makes the material interesting. Attendance is a must, but the tests are straightforward if you go to class and skim the textbook. Unstuck ai's flashcards and practice quizzes were super helpful for studying.
A great professor giving clear direction on grading criteria, and has lots of extra credit opportunities. The class is mostly lecture based. She also shows videos that you need to know for the exams. Be ready to read from the book. Reading the book before or after the lecture has really helped me to grasp the topics. Quizlet helped a ton too.
Dr. Fried is a pretty easy professor. Lectures aren't mandatory however most of the tests are lecture based. Weekly homework and quizzes which are fairly easy. She is a very helpful teacher and makes things clear.
Overall she was a good professor. There are mini at home online quizzes for every section and you get 2 attempts. There is also one assignment per section but not hard at all. The homework and quizzes are there to boost your grade. There are also a lot of extra credit opportunities.
This class was amazing. I took this after failing intro into psych with John, Holden due to him being unfair to me. her lectures where long but super easy to follow. she makes everything easy to understand and easy to study off her study guides. only takes a few hours of studying for the tests.
Loved Professor Fried! She makes it very easy to succeed in this class. Whether it is offering feedback or providing extra credit. Lectures are long, but are enjoyable. I recommend her!
She was a great professor who also made learning easy and enjoyable. You are not required to come to class, although that is really all I did. I did not read the textbook, and I was able to pass as she went over almost everything in the class. I also didn't find her lectures boring but genuinely interesting, and I would listen the whole time.
She was funny and liked when people asked questions or participated in class. Exams/quizzes are highly reliant on the lecture notes, but make sure to also read the textbook which was free. Many opportunities for extra credit points and to raise your grade, I wish I did more of the extra credit!
Best Professor Ever
I have no issue with Dr. Fried, but when it came to her exams. They're extremely difficult. It's not gonna be what you expect you have to study, but even when you study half the questions on the exams, make no sense. The class average is a 70% in my class the reason why I'm getting a C is because I'm not studying it's because the exams are hard
I love her teaching style
Great professor during lectures. Super nice and always available outside of class. The material she provides and the study guides are not helpful with the material on the exams. Exams are very challenging and are not normal for an entry-level course. No matter how much you study, be prepared to not always do as well as you want to.
course is easy enough if you just show up and take lecture notes/pay attention. hw and quizzes are easy, and she even provides extra credit opportunities at the end. i think people saying the exams are hard are the people scrolling on amazon/shein during class because she literally covers all the exam material in her lectures
Great Professor. Offers a free online textbook. 7 easy hw assignments and 11 open-note mini quizzes, which you get 2 attempts to complete. Offers SO MUCH extra credit, I regret not taking complete advantage of it. Exams are all multiple choice but are slightly difficult. Study the lectures and the textbook, and you should pass.
If you have the chance to take Psych with Dr Fried, take it. I loved her class and hated if I had to miss class. She teaches in a really interesting way and her class is easy to understand. I would take again if I could.
