This class is okay. You have to study and really know the material for test. overall, she lets you take one test over at the end of the semester so thats good. Just pay attention take notes and you wont have a problem :)
awful!!
Man she is very unorganized i had a hard time with her teaching style. She tries to teach you through the internet. The class started with around1 80 ppl...by the end it was only 15(also bases too much on group work.

HATED this class! Class lasts ab 15min. She doesnt teach anything, just shows a few slides. Tests cover entire course, everything on them. You have to read the whole book in order to do good. Lots and Lots of group work that is pointless. She's nice, but not a good teacher. I DO NOT recommend this class.
I loved her! She is very experienced in the field of psychology. SUPER EASY. I wrote my research paper the day it was due and made an A on it. Very sweet too.
I didn't show up for over half the classes, passed almost every test, left the group project to other people (which they did a horrible job but the group still passed). She is very boring but you only half to show up a few times, I'd take her again if I was doing more in psych for an easy A if I wanted to make an A... I opened the book maybe twice.
She was very helpful when it came to extra credit but her test are HARD! And the material is hard to understand with her!
Unbelievably bad prof. Half the questions on her tests are on things she hasn't even MENTIONED, much less taught about. Don't take this class unless you absolutely have to.
HORRIBLE teacher. i would not recommend her to my worst enemy. she doesnt go over the material well and to be honest she's just not a good teacher. her tests are composed of things she NEVER went over. you have to go to class every day because she'll have random days that she'll give quizes and she doesnt tell you when. she'll put you to sleep to.
Horrible horrible teacher. She obviously knows Psychology, but what she doesn't know is how to teach it. She covered about 1/3 of the material she tested on, and even what she taught was extremely unclear. Do not take her if you can avoid it.
Good Lord this lady is hard. I made an A, but only because she gives about 100 extra point opportunities. She knows Psychology but thinks her students do as well. When you take her test, it's like you are diagnosing people. She does not cover everything she test on. Good luck if you think you can brave her class.
She is a great teacher! I am surprised at all these people saying she's horrible. She was always there for me. After having her, all other classes are a review.

I enjoyed Mrs Kirk and the ppl that say she was a hard teacher is crazy! She gave like 7 diff oppertunities for bonus points. As long as you come to class shes awesome. We didnt do any group work or papers, just lectures, tests, and bonus points. I def would take her class again, and wish she taught ohter classes
Easy, helpful, and knowledgable. Gives out tons of bonus points. Two make-up test days and the final is just a re-take of a previous test.
This class was like a high school class. She gives tests per chapter instead of one test for 5 chapters. She makes it really hard to fail with all of the bonus chances she gives. Shes a little out there but really nice, and for your final she lets you just retake your lowest test score. I would definitely recommend her.
This class was terrible. I showed up, took notes, used online help and studied my butt off and still made a D. She is not worth taking.
SHE IS AMAZING AND MADE CLASS FUN! SHE GIVES SO MUCH EXTRA CREDIT WORK ITS CRAZY AND HER TESTS COME FROM HER POWERPOINTS. YOU DIDN'T TRY IF YOU DIDN'T MAKE AT LEAST A "B". MAKE SURE YOU GO TO CLASS THATS WERE PART OF YOUR GADE IS. 5 PTS ON RANDOM DAYS IT WILL HELP OR HURT YOU! I LOVE MRS KIRK AND WOULD DEF RECOMMEND HER TO EVERYONE!
This class was hard at the beginning. I had to figure out how her tests were and where the questions were coming from and after looking over each powerpoint and studying them word for word I did great on the rest of my test. the book wasnt used much in the class though.
Cool teacher. She's funny & her stories are interesting. This class is easy. Listen in class, look over powerpoints, and study vocabulary, and you will do good on the tests. Actually, if you only know the vocabulary, you do well on the tests. I really like this class.
She is a great teacher. All the questions on the test come STRAIGHT from the notes. veryyyy easy.

she's ok...i just dont like how she gives a test every friday on a different section every week so you really have to keep up on her lecture notes n pay attention. but she does give u points for coming to class so thats cool

VERY EASY!!! If you go to class and study lecture notes (powerpoints) you WILL make an A! If you attend class daily, you will get bonus points and not to mention bonus assignments!
great teacher, post all the powerpoints online, all you have to do is read over the powerpoints the night before and you will make at least a B in her class
Very interesting teaching style. We have a test EVERY Thursday. Tuesdays: Lecture. Thursday: New lecture, then test on Tuesday's lecture. It was really confusing. I hated how she would start the next chapter before our test on the previous chapter. Other than that she was a good teacher though. She gives a lot of bonus, which is really helpful!
Very Easy! Test are short and simple mostly vocab. she gives you vocab to study prior to test. Lots of bonus opportunity. you can also drop 2 low test grades or drop one and choose not to take the final. NOT HARD! give bonus for attendance. just kinda study you will make an A guaranteed.
If you take kirk MWF you'll enjoy it. If you take kirk TTH you will get confused. Good teacher, just hard to get lecture on next week's subject before you take test for last week's subject. And not elbow room in a full class.
Study at least a little bit and you will make an A. Gives bonus like crazy, I recieved at least 70+ bonus points. Test every week but they aren't hard if you review powerpoint and fluency.
Mrs. Kirk made me love psychology. If you print of the material, go to class and pay attention, you'll come out with an A. Sit near the front so you'll pay attention! Take her on MWF, Monday:lecture Wednesday:lecture Friday:test. Gives SO MANY bonus points.
I do not recommend Ms. Kirk. There is something about her that just isn't right. I had her Tuesday and Thursdays. She lectured Tuesday and you take a test on Thursday EVERY WEEK. This gets old and stressful. For the research papers, she basically throws you in the deep end and you better hope you can swim. She doesn't help you at all!!
Class in general: Easy, gives out 2 big bonus opportunities that are super easy!! IF you take her T & R you will have a test every Thursday. overall class is easy. Ms. Kirk will get on your nerves!! She is kinda crazy. But take the class. youll get a good grade.
She has changed the format of her class, she makes you fill out these dot charts everyday and doesn't really explain any assignments she gives to the class. She relies on Blackboard wayyyy too much to explain the assignments, I emailed her when I was having health issues to see if I could meet with her to talk about class and never even got a reply
Kirk is very organized and particular. She uses Blackboard heavily. She gives quizzes every day. Class also has to run "practices" every day, and graph progress on a little dot chart. She is very generous with bonus points, and breaks up the research paper into segments. She is an actual psychology professional also, so you learn from the best.
She's very precise her tests are exactly like the fluency sheets, and notes. She's sweet, her class isn't hard you just have to put forth some effort. She also gives out bonus assignments which helps your grade out a lot. She also gives bonus points just for coming to class.
She is not my professor, but she comes into my class everyday to do "fluency" practice. She expects us to print a ridiculous amount of material off of blackboard. She also expects us to buy a certain binder with page protectors. Let me remind you that She is NOT MY PROFESSOR. I feel like I'm in a high school class.
if you have trouble reading between the lines stay clear. She expects everyone to know what she's talking about. Prepare to teach yourself, because she does NOT. Have to write a big english paper over Fluency, very difficult. Makes no sense. I work hard in this class and give her multiple chances, but she lets me down every time.
I loved her class. I took her class and got an incomplete because I was pregnant and had a lot going on. She's allowing me to finish the course and is very helpful. I love her!!!!
There are some people that you can just look at and tell that they're not normal. Carrie Kirk is one of them. WhenIf you have her class, you'll see what I'm talking about. You can tell she thinks she's superior to everyone else. However, her class wasn't that bad. Boring material that didn't always make sense, but the tests were usually easy.

Mrs. Kirk was very confusing at the beginning of the semester, but after a while I got use to her. The only thing I really didn't like was she made us do fluency practice and we had to chart our progress. VERY confusing!! But her test are easy if you study!
Mrs. Kirk is one of the best teachers I ever had. Those who say that she is hard are just lazy students who came to JSU for parties and sororities. Her class is extremely interesting and useful in future life. I got 99. Do the fluency sheets - SO HELPFUL! She has great teaching methods. But this is a class for smart people, if you are not - :)
The class is a lot of assignments which I loved because it gave me more chances to earn points. She is really understanding and a caring teacher.
If you like straight lecture, DO NOT TAKE HER. She wants participation in each class. Gives many tests that are straight from the book. Her powerpoints are useless, but you can get bonus points for printing them off.
The lectures are kinda boring because the powerpoints only cover a basic summary of the content you'll need to learn. She's super strict and seems slightly intimidating in class but is super sweet when you talk to her one on one. If you take this class, READ YOUR TEXTBOOK. You will not pass if you don't. She also lets you drop two tests.
She has horribly boring lectures. I would not recommend anyone taking her. She rants about following her schedule, but does not follow it herself, when it comes to turning things in. Her test are very hard. She does not teach half of the material on her test. Her lectures do not really make sense unless you took a psycology class in high school.
I highly recommend not to take this class. She is very confusing and doesnt make any sense when she is talking about the material. She speaks to her students like they are children, and like you have no idea how to function in class or take notes or take a test.
My professor changed at the last minute, and I am now regretting not dropping this class. We have a total of about 16 test which we talk roughly every other class, but she will drop the lowest 4. I'm usually a straight a student, but I make mostly Cs and Ds in this class. If you learn from lectures, DO NOT take her class.
Only grade you will get is from test there is a total of 18 test and she only lectures for 30 minutes about nothing do not take this class
Told us in one class that we couldnt rely on her or the textbook to give us the right information. Only graded by 12 tests and notebook checks. She would lecture for 20-30 minutes and then have a 30 question test twice a week. Nothing on the test related to the lecture. Ended up with a C because she drops the 4 lowest test grades.
She uses some very unconventional teaching methods, but some of them really help. There were lots of quizzes, but she drops 4 of your lowest ones. She talks a lot about personal experiences and doesn't cover much in her lectures, so the book is necessary. She is very friendly, no matter how intimidating she tries to seem. Have money for scantrons.
Super hard. I literally dropped the class because I would rather lose the tuition money than stay in that class. If it is at all avoidable, do not take this professor.

Gives you 18 tests but drops the 4 lowest grades. The notebook fluency's are really what kept my grade alive. You need the book to pass the class. The lectures are really bad but I like having a lot of tests instead of a couple big ones so that you can spread out the material. Make sure you do all the fluencys. She takes attendance so go to class.

She really helps you with the tests if you ask, be considerate, and do not- do not!- fall asleep in this class unless you want to be humiliated. Other than that she helps with studying before the tests that are mandatory every week.
She said a textbook was required but she didnt even teach from the text book , she is a HORRIBLE teacher and she stresses you out and make you hate college . She thinks she knows best when she doesnt I prefer to listen to my English teacher . Drop her while you can or just dont take her at all .
She is overall a nice person and teacher, sometimes she needs to be more specific on what she wants and possibly guide us a little bit more.
She is a nice person, but as a teacher she really isn't that great . She not specific on the instructions for the work thats assigned. She assigns too much work that is due all at the same time knowing that students have other classes as well. I don't recommend taking her class !! She stressed me out with the way she teaches and with her work.
She is the worst teacher you could possibly get. She had daily rants about a completely unrelated topic. For example, before taking attendance, she starts rambling about illegal drugs. This is ACADEMIC SUCCESS. She focuses more on humiliating students rather than lectures. She can't reply to an email, grade assignments on time, or teach. Drop her.
I loved having Mrs. Kirk. She genuinely cares about her students and is easy to work with. Her tests are fairly difficult but as long as you take good notes and go to class, you'll pass. She answers her emails really fast and she teaches you important skills that you'll need throughout your time in college. Go to class, do your work and you'll pass

This professor is awful at best. You have too much homework and it's all due at the same time. Miss class, regardless of excuse? Good luck because she won't work with you. You also will not be respected or helped in this class. Kirk was really bad for my mental health.

she is a good teacher and she will help you and if didn't know that work she teacher ask her a question and she tell you better so you can understand it clear and it will help you on your English paper.
Ms Kirk was so helpful during the semester and she is amazing to get along with. She helps you and explains everything that you may need to know. I would totally recommend her as a teacher, and she is also an amazing person.
she uses a lot of hands on experience. she uses clues and hints to give extra material for the lectures. she also knows that each kid is different and she doesnt teach how she wants to tach, she teaches to the best of the students.
Mrs. Kirk is a great teacher. In class I was always engaged in the lesson. I was able to understand most of the things that she taught.

This year we took the time to learn about grammar, real life situations and we did work that was sometimes wasn't needed but it helped in some way She is a nice teacher overrall but if you dont like fast pace work then just don't take this teacher but if you come to class it will be very easy for you.
She's a really nice teacher and cares about what's going on in your personal life but she does give a good amount of homework and attendance matters in her class so please show up and do your work

If you come to class you will literally do good, she explains everything thoroughly, and some day she let us be online but if you just show up and do your work you will be perfectly okay in this class.
Mrs. Kirk is a very sweet teacher. She grades precisely, but that is only because she wants you to do well and understand. If you take a class with Mrs. Kirk as your instructor, you are already set up for success.

Ms. Kirk teaching was magnificent because, some of the things we didn't understand we went back over it until we got it. Ms. Kirk lectures teaches us a lot especially going step by step into the different topics we do. Ms. Kirk is the type of teacher to make sure that we are all on the same page when it comes to her lectures or the presentation.
