This professor was great and I would definitely take her again for another class. She was great and she was extremely helpful with her responses to certain questions. Me and her would talk after class and was very smart and humours about different topics outside of math. She was also very interested in my field of study, which is Cybersecurity.
This class helps you understand the material during the entire semester, you will not be confused at all!
Prof McD was very fair. She sets up the class in a way where you really can't fail. Coming from someone who has failed math all their life- I got a B! And this is just reviewing the videos/ tools she posted for us. She cares and will help with any questions
Free textbook. Lots of homework. Flash card to use on exams. Exam taken at testing center. Lots of opportunity to have good grades.
Enjoyed taking this class. There was a lot of homework, but it helped me learn the material. The textbook is not needed because it is all online. I would take it again.
Great Professor, and gives lots of EC opportunities. Lots of work to make sure you understand. 4 heavy weight tests on campus, plus a final.
Easy format and good material
She's nice and she gives extra credit. The class is simple if you do the work and don't procrastinate, the test are just like the homework questions.
Prof. McD does care for her students. The workload can be rough at times, but it's manageable.
I've taken Professor McDonald for two semesters now and I have had a good experience both times. There are quite a few homework assignments due in a short period of time, but they are only edpuzzles (watch a video and answer questions along the way). As long as you stay on top of the work and don't slack off, this will be a great class for you.
Professor McDonald is amazing! Her course material was organized so well that no questions were left. If you follow everything step by step, it is easy to get an A. I definitely will recommend her.
I definitely will recommend Professor McDonald. She is an amazing teacher! Her course material was organized so well that no questions were left. Even tests are mandatory to take in the testing centre, but she provides a question bank and all the material, so it is easy to get good scores on them.
Pretty easy class. I took it virtually-attendance didn't matter. Lecture videos are decent. Always has practice test and question bank almost identical to the real test. A lot of tests, lockdown browser or in TC. Work wasn't hard, and you get multiple tries on quiz/test questions. I've always struggled in math, but I would take Prof Mcdonald again.
It would be very helpful to use the SLC tutoring during this class because class time is spent reviewing the material, not teaching it. You'll be fine if you do your assignments in a timely manner.
Highly recommend. There are about 2 weekly lessons, with videos, solutions & redos. Each lesson=quiz which you can redo 3 times online, no camera. Extra credit for going to tutoring. Practice tests & question banks are also extra credit, almost exactly to the tests you must take in person. Plenty of late passes. Responds quickly, kind & helpful.
This class was terrific, and we were given a lot of extra credit chances. Professor is amazing and nice, and her videos are easy to understand and follow.
You have to go into the testing center even though it's a fully online class!!!!!! This is the sole reason why I didn't like this class, nor will I take any of her classes again. There was lots of homework. Gave a lot of extra credit opportunities for exams. was able to use a flashcard on the exam. free textbook and coursework.
The practice tests help a lot because it is just like the actual tests
I would highly recommend this course to anyone needing to take statistics. You can tell that Professor McDonald truly cares and wants to help her students succeed. Her course is very organized and easy to navigate. Professor McDonald is always willing to explain any questions students may have. She always has a positive and encouraging attitude.
Very good !
Great online class. About 2-3 assignments due each week with a lot of videos to help quizzes are simple under 15 questions. Tests are fairly easy if you study. LOTS OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXTRA CREDIT. Professor McDonald is very good at teaching and you can ask for help if you don't understand.
This professor's teaching style is good and she assigns guided assignments to help students actually learn the material for the tests that are in person. There are about two assignments per week and two super short quizzes a week. The tests are taken in person which is stressful since all the assignments are online but she lets you bring a notecard
Professor McDonald was a good teacher. This was my second time taking statistics, and I'm glad I chose her as my teacher for this round. I'm usually not the best at math, but she made it so easy. She accepts late work (with a deduction of 25% after the due date), but she gives so many opportunities for extra credit. Your grade really relies on you.
She is the best math professor I have ever had. She gives clear instructions on how to do assignments, and also motivates us to keep trying and persevere. Furthermore, she also uses the practice tests to see if we are truly confident to take the actual test.
She was able to give good advice while still making it easy to learn. Do as many assignments as you can and any extra credit work, and you will not have issues getting at least a B in this class.
The assignments were easy to work through. Also, there isn't any course material to pay for.
Professor McDonald has a really fun personality. It shows in the videos especially the intro. The videos that she provided helped to learn the material and each question. Focus on the practice tests, I found them to be exactly like the exams.
She was overall pretty good.
she is caring and willing to help if you need it.
In my experience, she is a good professor, and the course is okay and easy to understand if you take the time to study a little. Make sure you do the work and don't let it pile up. Also, the tests weigh heavier on the grading scale, so make sure you do the practice tests, as they reflect what's going to be on the test.
If you are someone who usually struggles in mathematics--taking a course with Professor McDonald would do you absolute wonders. The use of GLAs helped me to succeed in her class. There are also question banks and practice tests that accurately reflect the questions on exams. If you are in search of a professor--Professor McDonald is the best one!
She was amazing! Created lots of videos to walk you through the practice questions. Lots of extra credit opportunities. If you have a busy schedule, do not take her course because she has a lot of work and tests to do. But she makes it easy for you to understand and the guided lessons help ALOT. She's funny and caring. I loved her.
Professor McDonald was awesome! She made stats feel easy and were always there to help when needed. Plus, the grading system was fair. Thanks to Professor McDonald, stats was actually fun! Definitely recommend taking their class.
I had to withdraw last semester from stats and am happy I was able to take it with professor McDonald. She wants you to pass. PALs sessions with John are beneficial. The course is very dense with HW and test, but she makes it easier to understand compared to other professors. I never thought I would like stats of all classes. 10/10 would recommend.
An amazing professor. Gives plenty of homework, but makes it very easy to learn with plenty of videos. Would recommend this professor 10 times over!
Personally, I do not think that her teaching style really worked for me. For someone who struggles with math, it was very hard to learn the material myself. There is no lecture; it's a Q&A. You complete the homework and discuss it in class. Tests are timed, which made me feel rushed. Practice tests are like the tests, so there are no surprises.
Very caring professor. As someone who struggles with algebra, it was difficult to understand some of the material she taught in class. *Multiple* opportunities for extra credit if you are struggling. Practice tests are just like the tests. During class, she goes over questions any students send her regarding the HW or quiz problems. No lecture.
Professor McDonal is very caring her online classes are very interactive, she provides a lot of resources, questions banks/practice tests. Sometimes you can feel overwhelmed with the amount of material but is worth it very helpful material.
The professor provided many extra credit opportunities. The most helpful was how she gave her students many opportunities for extra credit on the final exam. I ended with a higher grade than I thought I would have in a math class, and the Guided Learning Assignments were helpful! I learned a lot, and my final reflected that. Highly recommend!
Be ready to pace yourself. The assignments aren't super heavy but WILL pile up if you let it! Assignments are due 3 separate days during the week. You can also bring in one flash card for help on tests and each question allows three tries. She only offers in person testing so make sure to book appointments and study!! :)
Online homework Extra credit options
Online homework Extra credit option
I cannot recommend Professor McDonald enough. She went above and beyond to make a creative, engaging, digital platform for learning. She supports her students and makes statistics fun and easy. She is an incredible professor.
Professor is very nice. Express B course was VERY workload heavy, which makes sense since it was an Express course (if you plan to take Express with Prof. McD, prepare yourself for hours of work each day). Often, each lesson was due in 2 days. Plenty of study material and extra credit. Get the work done on time and you're set.
the professor is good, there is a lot of material and hw, but also extra credit, and you're able to use a flashcard during the test. There is multiple chances for each question on the test.
This Professor is great. The homework assignments are a lot of work, but she had videos showing you how to solve every problem. Just make sure to get your homework done. She also gives extra credit for doing the practice test or getting a tutor help at the school.
If you have an overload agenda I don't recommend you to take this professor it will be so overwhelming
There is a lot of work but she offers generous extra credit opportunities, like practice tests, study sessions, etc. It is not hard to get an A in the class if you show up and put in the work. Would recommend
The course was very well organized, and I never felt like something popped up at the last minute without me knowing. For each test there was an opportunity for extra credit by doing the question bank and practice test, and those not only boost your grade but also your understanding of the material.
She is super organized and cares about her students! Everything you need to pass the class is provided for you. Lots of homework though but they are easy to complete. You will be prepared if you complete the practice test and question banks before the test. There are plenty of extra credit opportunities and I would 100% recommend taking her class.
Great Professor! Lots of homework but all worth it because the test reflect exact what the homework and practice test entails.
I signed up for this class thinking i'll be happy with a C but then i met her through her introduction videos and her explaining the homework , it was amazing i have an A , and she make everything clear, take her you won't regret it , put in the work and you might get an A+ even , with clear understanding of the course.
This is a great class to be taken online, there is a lot of work but its very easy, she provides enough resources and tutorials of how to do the work, i feel like i learned a lot this summer. It was not easy but not hard, if you keep up with the assignments it gets easy and the test are in person in the testing center. Provides extra credit
Gives alot of homework but very generous with extra credit
Professor McDonald makes statistics feel easy with her engaging videos and helpful resources. The class has a lot of work, but she creates ample opportunities for extra credit to boost your grade. As long as you stay on top of the assignments, you'll likely do well in this course.
This has been a really amazing semester. As someone who truly struggles with math and almost failed college algebra, I felt like I had all the tools I needed to be successful in this stats course. With guided learning and practice tests being almost exactly like the actual tests, I find it hard for anyone not to receive an A in this class! 11/10
Professor McDonald is great. There is a lot of work, such as EdPuzzles and GLAs, but you will do great as long as you stay on top of your work. The tests are short and easy; you have 3 tries per question, a notecard, and a reference packet. The only thing that I did not like about this class was that we had to take the exams at a testing center.
I think she means well and wants you to do well it was way too much packed into one session, for example, a 6-hour GLA and too many Ed puzzles.
So many extra credit opportunities. Many late passes. Homework & resources are covered/free. The practice exams are very identical to the exams you take in person. I've taken her for college algebra (earned an A) & statistics now (currently an A). I'm bad at math, yet I'm able to pass her class because of the videos, extra credit, & practice tests.
gives alot of hw but really caring, all tests need to be done at the testing center
Statistics are complex, but the homework, question banks, and practice tests have been helpful. The professor is supportive and wants us to succeed. Class sessions focused on homework review, which was beneficial, but I wish there had been more real-world applications for those of us taking the class as a requirement rather than for our careers.
A lot of homework that takes quite some time to complete. There are extra credit opportunities for the test but are long assignments for minimal points. For test you can use an index card with your own notes and get 3 tries on each question with point deduction each try. She takes some time to add extra credit to tests. Drops lowest test grade.
Professor gives lots of homework that is sometimes tedious but overall worth the effort. She also gives you multiple attempts on questions in the exams and assignment.
She was a great class to take. I took 12 week intermediate algebra. She had 4 major tests which were around 30 questions each, they were all at the testing center. The homework wasn't long at all and on math lab. She provides extra credit for every test and at the end of semester, she wants you to pass.
No doubt in my mind, Professor McDonald was the best and easiest professor I could ever possibly ask for in stats! I have been horrible at maths in the past but she made the materials so easy to follow and there are a ton of extra credit opportunities. The practice tests were also a saving grace! Everything is free in the course as well.
The professor really cares about her students. You won't need to buy a book, offers a lots of resources for you to pass her class. Assignments are lengthy but it's preparing you for your tests. I definitely recommend her!
she is very nice and helps you a lot. would recommend.
She is very nice.
This class was very good as all her assignments are related to the tests. All tests has to be taken at a Testing Center. There was a lot of assignments but it was manageable.
Good professor she cares for her students make sure you stay up to date with homework it helps. you have to watch tons of videos
I really enjoyed this class. The explanations and examples were clear and helped me understand the topics better.
Prof. McDonald always explained any confusing topics during in-person classes. Just stay on top of your work & fully utilize all the resources she gives you, & you'll be fine. The hw was sometimes a bit time-consuming, but you're essentially learning the lesson/doing the homework at the same time, so there really isn't too much work beyond that.
Work load is a lot but overall she is very helpful and provides a lot of practice and tests are not too bad.
She is an excellent teacher. Her practice tests are identical to the real exams, so if you practice the practice test several times, you will do very well. Even though the class is online, the exams must be taken at the college.
The class was actually very straightforward. She is a little heavy on the homework but otherwise is a great professor.
She is always willing to help, her material is very helpful. If you don't understand the problem you are trying to solve, there is always a video or written example to help you!
She allows to bring a reference packet provided in the course (which doesn't help much) and a 5”7” note card (this helps me alot). The hw looks alot bc she divides them into many small parts. The CPs takes 1-3h and the GLAs takes 2-4h depend on each sessions. But we got a week to complete. She doesn't require textbooks, its all provided.
this class was easy to do homework and practice test. actual test are only usually 25 questions and if you just do the practice test a couple times you should pass. great teacher really understanding gives out a lot of chances to do extra credit. she drops a test grade and takes late work just do the work and youll pass.
Professor McDonald made the material easy to access, offered extra credit opportunities, and was always helpful when I needed support. Highly recommend!
she's amazing
Professor McDonald had a very organized course that was easy to follow step by step. If you are on top of your work then you shouldn't have any trouble getting a good grade in this class. Her guided learning assignments are very helpful before testing.
If you put in the time to do the work, you will do well in this class.
Lots of homework but this is good because if you're a bad test taker these will save your grade! Stats can be difficult, to be honest, but if you practice and do the practice tests and question banks repeatedly, it will become easier over time. Do your homework because it makes a big difference!
Great professor, cares about her students. Has 5 tests all semester and 2 essentially don't count. Lowest gets dropped and another can be replaced by your final test grade. JUST MAKE SURE TO DO THE WORK SHE GIVES
She is incredible, has tons of extra credit, has great opportunities, and responds to emails promptly. Just stick with the schedule and do the extra credit, and you'll do great.
She was a 10/10 professor. The grading system gives you optimal chances to pass tests. There's tons of extra credit. Review material is exactly whats on the test. Would definitely recommend.
If you want to work at your own pace, but still attend good lecture's and Q&As, hybrid would be the way to go. It is pretty work heavy, but nothing too extreme just a lot of preparation for the exams. There are 4 exams in total, and the final if you don't do too well on the 4th exam. I would definitely set aside days for studying this class though
She's organized and she helps you to be organized as well. She provides in-depth explanation videos and the homework allows you to repeatedly test your skills without penalty. If you try, you'll pass.
She is a good professor, but the tests are very important, so if you study for the exams, you will be fine. homework takes time, so don't leave it for the last day.
If you do not want 17 assignments per week, do NOT take her. I had more work from her than my other 6 classes combined. She is very sweet and wants to see her students pass, but the work load is outrageous. If the work load was not so heavy I would give her 5 stars because of how nice she is. Tests are also to be taken in the testing center.
She pays close attention to your concerns and provides pretty good lecture videos when you're unsure about what to do.
Great lectures she provides in assignments.
Flexible and keeps her students in mind
Im glad I stopped and listened to the comments! This professor and her class are way better than expected, I am surprised how well I have done in this course !
Honestly not a bad class overall, just tons of work, also beware she makes you take your test at the campus, honestly kind of annoying but besides that I taking it fully online is rough
really good prof ngl, i SUCK at math but i got a really easy good grade just doing the assignments, she allows late tests and late work, gives a lot of extra credit oppts, literally just watch the lectures do the hw and ur good u have to actually try to be failing. i did it fully online so i had to go in person for tests but v straightforward
If you do the work in this class you can easily get an A but beware it's a lot of work at times but if you place it correctly you will do just fine.
This professor is honestly really great. The only thing I must say is that there is A LOT of work due. I found myself having to do work basically every day. Other than that I can say that MOM is extremely helpful. To be successful in this class you should really do the work and do it over and over again. She did make it easy to learn.
She is a great professor. She will work with you to help you get good grades. There are TONS of extra credit opportunities and plenty of ways to do catch-up work. The bad thing is there is SO MUCH work. She will sometimes give you up to 4 hours of videos to answer questions, modules that take at least 1.5 hours each, and prep for a test and study.
Professor McDonald provides lots of extra credit opportunities for each test. We used My Open Math software, which is free and not complicated. For each question, she provides a video explaining the problem's solution. The only downside is taking the test at the testing center. If transportation is an issue for you, you might want to reevaluate.
Take this professor now!!! I have always been a terrible test taker and her resources allowed me to get an A on almost every exam. This class is an easy A.
She has great resources to understand the homework, and extra credit opportunities that prepare you for the tests; very caring, you can tell she loves what she does, so she takes the time to help. She also responds promptly. I took this class express (October-December) and had all the help, so you can do it if you take her class!
I've never taken a class where I've felt like I was truly learning, and had the support of my teacher. This clas (while yes is heavy in homework), is undoubtably one of the best classes i've taken..and I've never been good with math. It's pretty easy to do well as long as you stay on top of your work. Best professor by far.
I loved her, you can tell she cares about her students. Offers PLENTY + multiple types of extra credit for each test. Only 4 tests and a final. The only downside is the insane amount of edpuzzles assigned but if you watch some everyday it should be cake. Practice tests are JUST like the test. Also you have to take tests in the testing center.
This was a great course! This course is all about learning from mistakes and it causes you to actually learn instead of just doing it for the grade. Her practice tests are almost the exact test questions and the video lessons are clear. Definitely recommend for Statistics!!
If you're taking mathematics and you have challenges, she is an ideal professor to have. It's all step-by-step and well-orchestrated, especially for an online format. You won't regret it.
she lets you use a notecard for exams but must be taken at a testing center. multiple tries for questions on assignment but assignments take hours. chill class but you honestly have to study hard to pass.
The material was taught in depth and clearly. Although, there is quite a bit of work it all helps you out in the end as long as you put the work in. Make sure you study using the practice tests and question bank. Love that on tests you get up to three tries to get a question right. Overall great class and amazing professor.
She is a good professor. There are a lot of assignments and extra credits. The tests are similar to practice.
She has so many resources, if one doesn't work there are many other options. She gives a lot of extra credit and has late passes, I think this really helped me get through this class.
She provides so many great resources, and she is always there to help.
The videos posted on MyMath were lengthy and at times it became a bit much. She gives a lot of potential for extra credit and she drops your lowest test grade. There is a huge opportunity for success in this class. There is quite a bit for homework, just be prepared. Also the tests are based identical off of the practice test.
very helpful. normally im not great with math but the way she explains everything really healped, she also answers all her emails.
Lot of assignments but easy
It is very easy to pass her class. She provides a lot of opportunities to obtain extra credit by attending a zoom math tutoring session each week. She provides practice test and question bank to study which can be taken for extra credit. Her test need to be scheduled at the testing center
The teacher is pretty good I love that on the test and final exams we have multiple attempts to answer questions. Just be aware there's a lot of homework A LOT!!
This class is 100% doable. She gives a lot a homework but you get plenty of chances to get 100. Highly recommend.
Very cool, chill professor. It can be a lot of coursework at times but if you watch the videos, do your work and take the time to study, you'll pass the class. Gives a lot of extra credit also.
Class was a little hard, but if you study and do all the home work you will be fine.
Overall great professor. She offered great materials, such as practice tests that reflected what was actually on the tests. She offered multiple tries with small penalties on test questions. However, the spacing of the tests got cramped near the end. She tried her best to boost everyone's grades as much as possible.
She is a professor who truly wants her students to succeed. Be warned, though, by wanting this, you will have a heavy work load, so make sure you have a minimum of 6+ hours a week to study and do homework (if you are. a quick learner, if not I suggest even more time). I actually can say I learned statistics in the course, explained really well.
Professor McDonald is a very caring professor she gives plenty of extra credit in her class because she wants everyone to do well. Her class is very doable and straight to the point. She makes videos herself explaining how to solve many problems. She gives a lot of work but the work that she gives helps you better understand the assignments.
She is honestly a good teacher and she does her best to explain the materials and it feels like she actually wants you to pass. The only negative thing is that she gives a lot h.w
Math is not my favorite subject but this class was so easy and fun!!!
Will never take again! Be aware of professor! Super test heavy, and condescending
Great professor. She makes the class easy.
She is very nice. I took the course online but I definitely feel as if it can be taken online because most of what we learned was on My open math.
This is the best grade I have EVER gotten in a math class. She gives practice tests that are exactly what is on the test and count as extra credit. She gives enough extra credit each unit that it equals a whole letter grade for the test, EX if you do all the extra credit and score a B on the test the extra credit will boost you to an A.
This class was a breeze. She allows you to use one double-sided note card for every test, and the tests were the exact same thing as the practice tests, so it was impossible to fail. Tests worth 60% WARNING: Tests are IN-PERSON ONLY. I signed up for the online class and did not expect to have to go to campus. It really messed up my work schedule.
Great professor. The class is perfectly laid out. Lots of extra credit.
I took this class online! There was a lot of homework but nothing that couldn't be handled well as long as you put in the time and effort! The professor also gave plenty of extra credit. The tests had to be taken at the testing center. Great professor overall!!!
Professor McDonald was great breaking down difficult concepts. She really cares about her students and wants them to do well. Johnathan was also a great tutor, who was flexible and made it easy to understand the material. You will not go wrong with Professor McDonald.
I had an amazing experience in ProfMcDonald's STA course. Her ability to make complex concepts understandable is impressive. Fosters a supportive videos that making learning enjoyable, is approachable, always willing to help.Passionate for the subject makes me appreciation for STA.I highly recommend Prof McD to anyone looking to excel in STATISTICS
Tests are in person at a testing center, even if the class is fully online. Extra credit is hard. Tests are 97% like the practice ones. If you cant reach the professor. so use ChatGPT to learn what you're stuck on. Write formulas for each question on notecards. You can use Excel on tests—use it and you'll pass with an A!
My teacher was very understanding and helpful.
She assigns a ton of work however, this helps with your overall grade if you don't do too well on the exams, she provides a ton of extra credit and you are allowed to bring half a sheet of paper with whatever information you want in it to your exam. Practice tests are almost identical to the exam and worth extra credit. She drops your lowest test
She's an excellent teacher who patiently answers every question without hesitation. She offers a variety of helpful resources and plenty of extra credit opportunities. While the class can be challenging at times, she provides practice quizzes that closely mirror the actual tests, which really helps reduce stress and test anxiety.
Professor McDonald does assign A LOT of work but all of it is extremely helpful to learning the material and she makes this class which is naturally work heavy as painless as possible. She also offers A LOT of extra credit
I would definitely recommend taking this course with Professor McDonald! Assignments/quizzes are given with enough time to complete around your schedule. Tests are taken at a testing center and you can bring a 3x5 notecard for formulas/notes. Very helpful with any questions and provides a lot of extra credit opportunities throughout the semester!
If you have difficulty understanding math, I'd say take an in-person course. This teacher is a great teacher overall, but you work on math every day, tiring but not a bad course! You get a cheat sheet as well, and if you email her about anything, she is sure to answer!
Completely online class, test and assignments are easy. Work load is not heavy but as long as you complete whats required a good grade is guaranteed.
I am terrible at math and so far my grade is a high B, a lot of homework, my only dislike was going to the Testing Center for the tests.
Professor Mcdonald is a great professor. She made everything easy to understand with helpful videos. I'm not great at math, but I enjoyed this class and felt confident. There's a lot of homework, but the test banks and practice tests helped. The tests are at the testing center, and you can use your calculator and a note card. She Offers extra credit.
She's a good teacher, but she assigns a lot of homework (which is basically how you learn), such as edpuzzle video homework, and practice questions that can take 2+ hours; BUT, she accepts late work till the end of the semester. If you can take her online, do it; the lecture is kinda just a Q&A if you have questions, and attendance is graded.
Professor McDonald loves her students. She gives about 3 assignments + 1-2 quizzes per week, but the homework is there to help you succeed. She gives lots of extra credit, enough to improve each exam by a whole letter grade. If you're taking her online, you will still have to go in person to take the exams.
She's a great teacher that gives you time to get your work done, and every assignment and chapter comes with video you can always rewatch. The homework is pretty easy, and for tests, you'll need to go to the testing center if you don't have an external camera. The practice tests are just like the real ones, which are usually only 25 questions.
She gives you time to get your work done, and every assignment and chapter comes with a video you can rewatch whenever you need. The homework is pretty easy, and for tests, you'll need to go to the testing center if you don't have an external camera. The best part? The practice tests are just like the real ones, which are usually only 25 questions
Professor McDonald genuinely cares, while the course load is a little heavy, don't let that deter you from her course. She really wants the best for you and you actually learn through her course. coming form years of not taking a math class.. she is amazing.
I think this was a good course the work wasn't too hard just a lot of it something was due everyday so it was kind of hard to really grasp the material because you have to keep working toward the next concept but overall if you stay focused it should be fine
Will give you 3-7 short assignments every week and 1-2 bigger assignments a week. Stick to her practice tests and question banks and you should be just fine. Great teacher and cares a lot!
An easy class once you dont fall back on the GLAs
Professor McDonald truly cares about the success of her students and wants the best for them. The workload is kind of heavy but can be mitigated by solid time management skills. She also provides a lot of extra credit during tests and throughout the semester. Take her!
She is an amazing professor. Her class can be challenging mainly due to the amount of work in the class but if your good at time management you can complete all her work in a reasonable time. Also a lot of extra credit opportunities.
Professor is very nice and funny, I had her as an online teacher but be aware you need to go to the testing center to take exams but quizzes and homework are done on your own, you don't need to go to the testing center center.
Professor McDonald is a great teacher. There are assignments due almost every day of the school week, but she provides videos for every lesson and the practice tests are very close to the actual tests. Tests do need to be taken in a testing center on campus, so make sure to plan around that. There are also plenty of extra credit opportunities.
she very nice and give a lot of extra credit.
Tests are all in person for a full ONLINE CLASS.
Professor McDonald is an amazing instructor She's very understanding and cares about her student success. There's a good amount of homework, but it is manageable if you stay organized a manage your time well.
Great Teacher! made math easy for me and there were so many learning opportunities and resources to help me learn or ask for help if needed.
great professor, has a good amount of homework but dont fall behind or it will seem more than it actually is. lots of opportunities for extra credit.
I will say there is lots of work BUT it's worth it if you want a good grade. Make sure you use the practice tests and question bank! You can gain LOTS of extra credit based on what you score on these. You can only use a 3x5 note card for the exams. Exams are literally almost exactly like practice tests. Overall great class and an amazing professor!
The professor is amazing! Her syllabus is very organized, and she explains the material clearly. She provides lots of helpful problem-solving videos that really break down the concepts step-by-step. The assignments do require a lot of time and dedication, so you need to stay consistent each week. It's not a course you
she is a great teacher, take time in class to resolve your questions you had doing the homework
She was super nice and helpful! and she does not let you fail!
I struggle in math but this professor is very helpful she will communicate and help you out . I would recommend her I am taking her again for college algebra
Very helpful!! She explained problems in detail so you weren't confused.
Lot of homework but it can managed with proper planning (which she helps you do). Lots of extra credit. Lots of practice problems available.
Professor McDonald was great ! Just make sure to keep your personal schedule in act so you can submit your assignments
The tests are in person so beware of that
She's great! offers extra credit by going to the SLC and other events around campus. If I put in more effort I know I could do better in this class but the work is quite difficult. Though she makes sure to review in class and work with you. Great professor 10/10 would take again.
This class had a lot of work, but it was manageable to be done; the due dates were far apart enough to be completed on time. Very good at explaining the lessons, and many extra credit opportunities. I would recommend her to anyone and would take her again. Overall, an easy class.
Lots of homework for such little points. It would be better if there were fewer, more intense assignments. You will be spending hours upon hours on homework.
Very helpful, and her assignments are straightforward. She gives you plenty of time and ways to boost your grade and provides excellent feedback.
Professor is easy if you keep up properly!
very easy very communicative and very easy-going for a base class.
alot of homework but it helps pass your test.
Class is easy, very well organized. LOTS of homework that isn't worth a lot, but is very helpful for tests. Extra credit opportunities! Would 100% take her class again!
She doesn't overwhelm you with work and gives opportunities for extra credit every now and then, which can help a lot, especially when you're about to take a test. She has recorded lectures that can help you succeed, she has reasonable office hours just in case you have any questions!
This professor gives a lot of homework, but she also offers many opportunities for a good grade. The assignments aren't hard, but there are a lot of them. she is also fair.
I would take her again honestly. It may be a little work heavy if you don't have a lot of time but most of the work is pretty self explanatory. She gives enough videos and enough study material to prepare for each of her tests.
She has a lot of homework around 4 pieces a week, but her practice tests are exactly like the tests she will give you so if you actually study you'll end up with a good grade. 4 tests and 1 final exam and the final exam replaces your lowest test grade. She also gives extra credit to each test.
She is a good professor, and she's always there to help you!! There is a lot of homework, but if you put in enough effort, it's going to be a great experience.
Prof. McDonald makes Statistics easy for you, AS LONG AS YOU DO THE COURSEWORK!! She guides you through step-by-step with her online videos, learning assignments, and ed puzzles, so make sure you're at least familiar with online work. Theres a lot of course load though, so make sure you don't take it with a busy schedule.
She was a really good professor. She required you to watch her lectures of each lesson for participation points but they were pretty short. Never above 25 minutes and they had good examples of the material. Homework is just the lecture video and the matching online assignment but if you understand the material, the homework doesn't take long.
Professor McDonald was a great teacher. She recorded short lecture videos with examples on the lesson that we were required to watch, but they were never more than about 25 minutes and they helped a lot with the matching assignment. Tests/quizzes were super easy if you did your work.
Professor McDonald is one of the kindest test givers I've had. Multiple attempts for test questions saved me so many times. She also gives extra credit opportunities very often.
Professor McDonald was not the worst but she needs some improvements in her lessons. If you're taking an online course for her be prepared to drive because her class is based in Palm Beach Gardens and she makes you drive to the campus to take the test in the testing center. Also her test are graded semi heavy so make sure to do the practice test.
She is an amazing teacher, she mostly assigns work Monday and Fridays. She allows for opportunities to send in late work and gives many ways to get extra credit. Would recommend to all and would 100% take again.
She's a chill professor! There's lots of videos to help you learn the material easily. Lots of extra credit is given! The only way to fail is to not try.
Professor Carrie McDonald is a wonderful instructor who is always responsive and supportive. She replies to emails quickly and is genuinely there to help her students succeed. The assignments are well-paced and organized, making it easy to stay on track throughout the course.
Great Teacher! Cares and was attentive to your learning.
Professor McDonald is an excellent instructor. The videos are really helpful and the practice tests give you a good idea of what to expect, and she also gives lots of extra credit.
Professor McDonald was easily one of my favorite professors I have has while taking classes at PBSC, she is so helpful and wants you to actually pass and understand math. She did anything she could to help out my grade or give extra time on tests!
This professor was lovely and truly caring. Despite taking an online class, you had to go to one of the campus testing centers to take the tests and the final exam. There are many Edpuzzles, and the homework would take up to 1-6 hours to complete. I do not recommend this class if you work. Overall, her lectures were great, and she was great.
Great professor made sure I did well
Professor McDonald was great. Just be prepared for a bit of workload. Make sure to manage time efficiently; this class takes time.
Highly recommend her
I liked her, she checks up on you, its dope.
The work load is a bit heavy, but many tools and resources are provided to help you understand the material. Several easy extra credit opportunities available. Late work is accepted with a penalty. She was very accommodating and responds quickly to emails. As someone who has always struggled with algebra, I would definitely recommend this class.
No, absolutely no. I never had this problem with any other teacher. She does everything she needs to but her job. I should've withdrew when I had the chance cause I had trust in her but no. I had 3 people tell me to drop but I thought if I do all the work I'll be fine but after 4 mistakes she made, my grade had to suffer
I took her for the summer and her course was great, not difficult. Offers practice tests and what you see on the practice tests is what will be on the actual test. Offers extra credit. I took online, so I had to take the tests at a campus testing center. Overall, great professor and she actually wants to see you succeed in the course and further.
She is a great professor who truly wants her students to do well. There is a ton of extra credit opportunities, you just need to make sure you stay on track and do not get behind.
She was really awesome. I am not naturally good at math AND have been out of school for 10 years. I needed to take a stats class. I was worried about not having taken algebra in several years, but she makes the material really digestible. I used all of the EC, and used the test question banks to study, and I have an A!
As long as you stay on top of the homework and classwork, you'll pass. There are four tests that must be taken at the testing center. I'd definitely take her class again.
A lot of HW but if you are disciplined, you'll be fine. YOU WILL spend hours on assignments BUT the HW, practice tests and question banks will help you pass every test. You get late passes on assignments. DON'T take this class if you have poor time management. You'll do great otherwise. I've never been really good at math but earned an A. Good luck
She's amazing!!!
Great teacher. Be ready for lots of EdPuzzles. Practice tests are just like the actual tests. 10/10 teacher!
Great teacher. Practice tests are just like actual tests. 10/10 teacher!
she was pretty helpful and easy
Prof McDonald is awesome! Funny and really cares about students and our success in the class. 10pts of extra credit to every test and the test prep is just like the actual test. Highly recommend her! Be ready for a heavy workload though for hw and stuff
Professor McDonald was amazing, and even though the class was fully online it was easy to know which assignments to complete and when. Most of the questions are solved using Excel. The test reviews were beneficial in studying for the test, as the questions were similar. I enjoyed this class, and it made math fun!
She tries to make the class easy, and I honestly do my best to study and put in the effort. But in the end, it really depends on your foundation in math. I'm not great at math, but I try to maintain at least a C average. She's a great teacher just make sure to do your part take advantage of the extra credit she provides,
Overall, excellent professor. Be sure to do as well as possible on exams, since they weigh heavily. Lots of homework, but helps your grade. Lots of resources and practice tests that prepare you for exams. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Taking the tests at the testing center is mandatory and a bit of a hassle.
This professor was amazing! I would definitely take her again if I ever need to take another math class. Statistics is hard in general, but she made it feel manageable and even enjoyable. If you're thinking about taking her—do it! You won't regret it. Tip: Make sure to do the practice tests—the actual exams are literally almost the same!-Londa
TAKE HER if you can!!!! math is not really my strong suite so taking it online was a bit risky. This professor made everything straightforward and offered A LOT of extra credit. You have a lot of homework and practice test looks exactly the same as the real test with different equation.
Professor McDonald is AMAZING!!! If you are contemplating taking her class I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. She does so much to help and she is not only funny but makes learning easy!! I would take her over and over if I was able to. Do not listen to negative comments. I FAILED STATS the first time around and passed with flying colors this time. TAKE HER!
She was one of a kind. Everything she does it to make your learning experience better. She taught me so much and was very kind towards a situation I had at home. She treats you as an equal and the homework setup is so easy and she prepares you SO WELL for tests.
Awesome teacher and she wants you to learn and pass the course. She gives a lot of homework but it eventually help you a lot. There are test banks that you can study and for the test the questions are basically the same. Just take her class!
I took it fully online, and the workload is honestly easy only issue was taking exams in the testing center, but other than that, an easy and good teacher overall.
actually so fun
great professor, very helpful, keep up with work and youll be fine
Very good teacher.
I had an amazing experience in ProfMcDonald's STA course. Her ability to make complex concepts understandable is impressive. Fosters a supportive videos that making learning enjoyable, is approachable, always willing to help.Passionate for the subject makes me appreciation for STA. I highly recommend Prof McD to anyone looking to excel in STA/ any.
As someone who struggles with math, Professor McDonald was super understanding and I was able to grasp most concepts. However, having to take test at the testing center was a struggle, and I could never score high enough because I couldn't finish questions in time. The test are worth a good amount, but doing the practice tests help a ton.
She is a great professor, but I made the mistake of taking her during an express summer term. You want to take her for a full semester that way it gives you more time to go over all of her lessons. Tests are taken in the testing center. Tests are also worth 30% of your grade.
I'm in the mistake of taking her during a summer express term. You want to take her during a semester where you will actually have time to go over all of her work. Test are worth 30% of your grade. Tests are also taken in the testing center.
As long as you stay on top of your work, you'll be fine. The exams are worth 30%, and she provides practice tests that are super helpful. Homework is assigned weekly, so try not to fall behind. She's also really approachable if you have any questions.
Despite my grade, I would still retake Carrie McDonald's class. It was pretty straightforward, and she truly cares about her students. Just be prepared to handle keeping up with coursework. I believe that was my demise. I tried balancing too many things at once, and it ALL collapsed. Focus on GLA's & Practice test, and you will be okay!
Honestly this professor was very sweet and seems like she cares about your learning BUT 1: there are A LOT of assignments. Which I dont usually mind but they are back to back with no breaks in between. Some even being due on weekends and holidays. 2: you have no choice but to go to a testing center IN PERSON. Cant do that, hence why I take online.
This class was an express class! At first it was very difficult for me because of the load of assignments and homework, but the professor was understanding and was able to extend due dates. Complete everything on time and you'll do fine. Some lessons will be difficult but she does offer lots of help and tutoring!
Lots of GLA and edpuzzle assignments. Only two tests and one optional test that can replace one of the other tests. SLC tutoring is up to 5 extra credit points. Enough extra credit to bring up test score by a whole letter grade. Gives question bank before the actual test so you can practice the questions. Do not take the hybrid version.
She's an amazing professor, really nice and sweet, she's also amazing at breaking down statistics you just need to manage your time especially since I took her as an express A class which is only 7 weeks to fully grasp the concept but she doesn't an excellent job of explaining everything.
Really easy class if willing to put the work
While there was a heavy load of course work, I felt that there was plenty of time in between assignments to complete them. What helped me the most was that Professor McDonald also provided great material that was free and she linked tons of helpful videos to all individual questions.
Great teacher. If you learn better online take the hybrid her videos online help a lot
I am honestly surprised Ms. McDonald has any poor reviews. She was very clear that the express 15 week class would be content and homework heavy, and it very much was, but I have a full time job, a second part time, and took 2 other courses and was able to complete everything. She is lenient and will accept late work with just a point deduction.
Way too many assignments with no breaks, including weekends and holidays. Communication was slow. Test 2 was locked to a time that didn't work for me due to work and other priorities. I take online classes for flexibility, but requiring in-person testing defeats the point. Not ideal for working adults.
Study material well especially if taking express, there's only two test but she lets you retake one of them for a better grade.
I loved her as a teacher. She's very understanding If you submit something late or have any trouble she will help you. The coursework is very easy and she gives a good amount of time to complete it.
The professor is highly knowledgeable and communicates material clearly and effectively. Their organized teaching style, use of real-world examples, and approachable attitude make complex topics easy to understand. They engage students actively and foster a positive, supportive learning environment.
I wouldn't suggest taking this as an express course. If it is offered as a full-semester course, then it should be acceptable.
Could be a lot of homework at one time, but good online class
The only thing I didn't like about her class was that you had to go in person to take the test and now it was very time-consuming because not everyone has access to go to the schools all the time and you would have to set an appointment and they would really affect your grade if you didn't go
shes a cool teacher, gives alot of extra credit and she will work with you.
Tests are bit difficult and there's not many in a semester so if you don't do well on one, it's not great. That being said she lets you take one test which can be helpful. A lot of homework
Professor McDonald's class was structured really well. It was set up to help students succeed. She implemented numerous supplemental resources within the modules to help with the concepts. The workload is manageable, and she accepts late work. There are extra credit opportunities. Overall, it's a great statistics class to take.
I wouldn't recommend taking the express class and doing another math class at the same time. There was a lot of information to remember, it was fast-paced, and communication was difficult. The workload was extremely demanding. I do not agree with the fact that the exam has to be in the testing center. I don't have time for that.
She is so nice. She definitely knows what she's doing, but the class often seems confused. She does have videos to watch, but most are outdated.
She is very understanding and clear when she teaches, you just have to put the effort into learning the subject.
Was very nice and supportive
She was an amazing professor and is very accommodating. If you have any issues in the class, she will do her best to help you. I took the express version of this course, so it was a bit difficult. Time management is essential! She gives a good amount of extra credit and will set you up with what you need to pass the class.
PALs sessions are extra credit and she gives a question bank of all possible questions for extra credit. I took it hybrid and express so there were only two tests but there was an optional test on the last day to replace one or both of the test grades. There are lots of homework assignments. Everything can be googled for hw. DO NOT TAKE THE HYBRID!
Professor McDonald is great! No textbook needed, she gives us all resources for the class. Lots of extra credit, 4 tests with clear questions and an options Final that can replace a grade if better than the other tests. I would def recommend her, it was an easy class if you did all the GLAs and exercises and she answered any questions!! TAKE HER!!!
The workload was heavy but doable. If you take notes on the assignment videos, you understand the material better. The question banks and practice tests were extra credit and help your grade and the same material was on the test.
Professor McDonald is very well-organized, and the course itself is thoughtfully structured for students. Although there are many assignments, they are reasonable and allow students to work at their own pace.Professor McDonald consistently answers my questions, and her responses help me feel supported rather than overwhelmed.
Professor McDonald was great! She was always available to help and or answer any question I had. You must look at all the material in order to make things easier.
Great instructor. Dedicated to teaching the subject. Caring. Very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
Professor McDonald is great & super helpful! Total of 4 tests, all taken in the testing center. Practice tests match the real tests, and you're allowed a notecard & reference packet. Lots of extra credit, no midterm/final, and she's sweet & quick to reply. I'd take her again!
Excellent teacher. If you take her for Express, be prepared for a lot of homework, tho it really helps boost your grade! For online, tests are held at the testing center. There are two main tests, plus two additional ones that can replace a lower score. She offers plenty of extra credit opportunities and provides lots of helpful learning materials.
Prof McDonald is awesome and her grading is rather simple with tons of extra credit! Assignments are done on MyOpenMath and test are so similar to practice tests which are done for extra credit. Would 100% recommend professor McD if you're looking for a flexible course that can be done on your time!
Second time taking this professor for a math course and I would highly recommend. Tests must be taken at a testing center, but you are allowed to bring a 5x8 notecard to bring with formulas/information. Assignments can be long, but spaced out well. Never thought I would do as well as I did with college math until I took this professor!
A lot of assignments, but you have enough resources and also many extra credit opportunities. Question bank and practice test before exams are very helpful, and the problems are the same on the test.
My professor genuinely cared about her students and explained the material clearly. The only downside was the number of required EdPuzzle videos, which felt time consuming for an online class and didn't always add much. The weekly GLA assignments were manageable, and overall she's a dedicated teacher. Overall 4 tests, I'd take the class again.
Very helpful professor. Always reaches back out when she is needed. Lots of assignments, but online videos are great and very helpful. I would recommend her.
Professor is nice but it's hard to retain, there's a lot of information. It's overwhelming. The live class is a waste of time. Assignments are expected to be completed before class and a percentage is taken off if it's not. Participation is required, even though class is for questions on an assignment that should already be completed.
I loved how encouraging Professor McDonald is. There is a lot of work in this class, so you have to be aware of due dates, but you can redeem late passes. I also think the testing is very complicated and stressful, at least for me, because I have test anxiety. Overall, I would recommend Professor McDonald to future students.
An excellent and organized professor that is always there to help.
Professor McDonald is a great professor. I took her fully online class, but be warned, no matter if it's express, 12 weeks, or full term, the workload will still be heavy. When taking this class, time management is crucial. But other than that, always do the extra credit opportunities, because the practice tests are very similar to the actual exam.
I thought the class was easy you just need to take advantage of all the extra credit (there is a lot) because it is very helpful. She is not a hard teacher and if you have a problem just email her and she will do her best to fix it for you. Great teacher and the class was great!
I liked how there was an enomourous amount of videos and resources provided, we were able to retry the ed puzzles, and multiple questions, however the only challenge for me was going in person to take the test with my busy schedules.
Professor has a lot of helpful videos for this class if you take it online. Statistics is a tough course, however the Professor breaks down the material for you. I recommend you sign up with Professor, Mcdonald.
Ton of assignments but lots of opportunities for extra credit and late work accepted with point deduction
Statistics is tough, but Professor McDonald breaks the material down clearly. She provides lots of helpful videos and extra credit opportunities. With my busy schedule, I appreciated that she allows late work with small deductions. Just make sure to stay on top of due dates.
This professor is knowledgeable, but the course may be challenging for students who are not highly self-disciplined and are not comfortable with a non-standard online learning format. If you can master the unique structure and maintain professional, proactive communication, you will likely do well.
Very simple and clear assignments due each week with multiple chances to redo them for a better score. Multiple practice tests and assignments to prepare for each test and extra credit opportunities as well. Lenient with make ups for both assignments and tests.
She's pretty normal for a math teacher
She's the best
She's a great professor, and she truly cares about the well-being of her students.
I've taken her for algebra and statistics she's a great professor I would definitely recommend this professor. If you struggle with math she's the professor you want to go to she makes math make sense I personally struggled with math but I passed both classes with a good grade.
Great Professor, I highly recommend taking.
I loved my professor.
Professor cares about her students and ensures that we are getting our work done.
Very cool teacher
Statistics isn't like Algebra. It requires a bit more understanding, but Prof McD is an excellent teacher for statistics. For an express class she made understanding easy. Very well structured for those who try to apply themselves but do not have to try too hard. If she taught other math courses I would take her again.
If you're thinking about choosing Prof.McDonald's course, I 100% recommend it. Her Guided lessons are long but are worth paying attention to. For her online classes, she makes her students go to a test center. Make sure to get your appointment ahead of time; the tests are simple if you do the guided learning assignments.
The class is easy if you complete your homework and understand the concepts. It's mostly self-taught, so if you're not confident in math, brush up on the basic. Khan Academy is great for it, and the hw and tests are great, but focus on the bank questions and take them multiple times before the exams. If you do well on the bank, the exam is a breeze
Every class is going over questions students sent to her about the homework, which is very lecture-heavy.
I would definitely take this class again! The thing is, she assigns a lot of these videos with questions embedded in them. It's a lot but honestly it helped me understand the material a little more! She also gives multiple attempts on the exams! If you get it wrong, it doesn't automatically mark it wrong, so you can keep trying until you get it!
This professor was thorough and organized with her work.
Everything is laid out for each module. While the tests do weigh heavily on one's grade, it's important to follow the material she offers, as it's pretty helpful.
Good prof. Took a while to respond to emails and the grading is a little iffy and confusing. Wish the tests didn't mess up my grade so much, but I still got an A!
Honestly, in my entire time at PBSC, Prof McDonald is easily one of the best professors I've ever had. This is a hard class, there is alot of material. Took this for Fall B, it was a bit brutal. Lots of work, but good material. 100% online, late passes available, 2 tests-must be taken at a TC. she has ref packets at the TC for each test, good ones.
Great class. There are a lot of homework assignments and it's best if you get them done on time, but she allows for students to submit assignments late for 75%. Stay on top of your work and you'll do fine.
watch the videos, do the question banks and you'll be ok
very helpful professor, failed stats once in person and i thought it was going to be tougher again online but it was even easier than i expected, 100% recommend her!
Her tests aren't bad, tbh they are just like the practice exams so as long as you practice the week of the exam, you'll be fine.
The professor is very caring, and the tests are easy if you review the practice questions she gives. Not a hard class to pass.
I could have gotten a better grade if I applied myself but.
A lot of homework but easy going prof.
Professor McDonald is a great professor for this course. It was homework heavy, but she will support you mightily. PALS Sessions with Jon, helped me understand the material as well. The sessions are extra credit as well. Overall, great professor.
