Mr. Dau will correct your work before its due so that way he can tell you exactly what he wants for your paper. He is very organized and will respond to emails within the day you send it. Good teacher.

Mr. Dau is a great professor! he really wants you to learn and is very helpful. He gives about 3-4 papers throughout the semester and the last one is a research paper. It can be hard but he will help you in every way possible. If you want a laid back class, this isn't the class for you.

Hated this class. I'm an A student and I got a B in the class which sucked. He is helpful if you go to him and put in the effort. Don't do stuff last minute. You'll pay for it later. He is also super picky about every little detail and isn't forgiving.

Mr.Dau is awesome. He is super helpful and the best teacher I had at Citrus so far. His classes are not easy but if you do your work and attend his class, it is not too bad. He will help you with the assignments and you can email him anything that you want him to look at. He responds really quick. I was always happy to go to his class!!

I love this professor. He is funny while he teachers us, but he knows what he's talking about. He may be unclear sometimes of what he wants with essays, but it's worth it. He is perfect. By far, he is my favorite professor and i'm currently taking him for English 101. I highly recommend you take him! :)

Prof. Dau is a legit english professor. VERY entertaining lectures. For essays, you turn in parts of your essay at a time and then the final essay so you always get feedback before your final grade. You can also email him paragraphs and he will provide feedback. Do not get discouraged if your paper is marked up, it only helps your grade! A+++

One of my favorite professors at Citrus. If English is your strength, you will do well. If English is not your favorite subject, Dau has made this course interesting and you will succeed. When papers are assigned, you turn in bits and pieces at a time, get critiqued, then turn in full papers. He sets you up to write an A papers.

Awesome teacher and class! Basically this was a Honors Film Lit class where we watched movies and then discussed them. 3 papers were assigned, plus some homework and presentations. He grades pretty hard on papers. I usually get As but I found myself getting Bs on all the papers in this class. He let us rewrite one paper though. He's a cool guy too.

I had doubts about taking Professor Dau after reading the reviews on here but he ended up being an amazing professor. He gives you everything you need to get an A on all your papers. He's very specific on what he wants. If you email him, he will help you out as much as he can. Easy A if you try. I definitely would take him again.

Critical thinking was definitely a challenge. Took the class during winter --only 8 weeks. You turn in parts on the paper at a time and get feedback for each part, allowing for redos. Will give additional help if you stay after class or email him. Seriously an AMAZING professor, clearly knows what he's talking about & his enthusiasm is refreshing.

Professor Dau is awesome. I took him spring 2016 and thoroughly enjoyed his class. He breaks everything down easily and walks you through all your papers in baby steps so it's not overwhelming. He is extremely helpful and answers all your questions and he is available in his office. If you want a passionate and hilarious professor, he is the one.

Professor Dau is funny, understanding, and helps you every step of the way, whether you're stuck on a homework assignment, or a research paper! He also uses great stories for the class. I enjoyed reading every one of them. The textbook also isn't necessary for the online ENG 101 class! You can find all the stories as PDFs online. I would recommend!

He really breaks down the how he wants papers written and will go over your writing as many times as you want him to until you get it right. Even if you're a bad writer he is willing to walk you through it and help you as much as you need as long as you ask for it. If you really want to improve your writing skills I would definitely recommend him.

Dau is an amazing English professor. Its a tough class but if you go to class and put in effort then you'll pass. He helps you out so much and gives you feedback before you turn in your essays. Professor Dau is amazing! He gives you all the tools necessary to pass his class and is very clear on what he wants on every essay and assignment. He even reads your paper up to 3 times before turning a final copy in. If you get anything below a B it's because YOU didn't put in the effort! Really, he's great!

Mr. Dau is one of the best teachers I have ever had. You should be able to pass his 101 class as long as you put in the necessary effort. He is very flexible about his office hours and even encourages you to have him look over as many rough draft paragraphs as necessary. I plan on taking him again for 103

Mr. Dau is the greatest. Took his online Eng 101 over spring 2017 and it was wonderful. He responds to emails within 24 hours, he is understanding, and really knows what he's talking about. He encourages q's and to send it as many rough drafts as you can before the due date. All assignments have reasonable due dates & offers examples for essays.

Professor Dau is a great teacher, he does expect a lot out of his students but he spends a great amount of time explaining so his students understand the criteria. He does group work often and makes you read short stories but that makes up for the fact that you don't need a text book. Tough grader on his essays but he's really chill!

Dau's Eng. 101 class has been so helpful. He is very specific in what he expects from students and is honestly very approachable. He will revise your essays with you before you turn them in which is awesome! Take advantage of the rewrite(s). His teaching style is nothing too unique but also not boring I would def recommend his class! No book needed

He's a great professor but be prepared to work for your grade. I ended up failing his class the first time but decided to take him again. First day of class he tells us not to buy the textbook: all of the reading material you can find online. Always available during his office hours and responds quickly to email.

Professor Dau is hands down one of the best people at Citrus. You will become a much better writer after taking his class. He will critique your writing until he thinks its perfect and thatll only make you a better student. Do NOT take his class if you dont plan on attending class, he is very specific on how he wants things done.

Extremely hard grader, he will make you feel like you are doing everything incorrect! BUT this guy will make you a great writer! But if you plan on taking him make sure that you do everything with 100%. There is SSSOOO many papers! back to back! beware!!!

There are three papers in total and he lets you rewrite one of them. He changes up the readings each semester but he'll give you the sources online. Make sure to do ALL the discussions on Canvas, it'll help you out in the end. He is a hard grader but he will read paragraphs of your essay before you turn it in. Overall, it was a fun class.

I received a 78%. It wasnt until later that I realized how much his instruction benefited me and even more so my writing. If you are not serious about school , dont take him. If you plan on growing academically take him. He gives clear feed back. But treats you like an adult. Give your 100% and you will definitely grow in critical thinkining!

I totally recommend professor Carsten. Going back go school after many years was difficult and if it wasn't for his help and guidance I wouldn't have made it in his class. I am just happy to have chosen him for my English class.

Mr. Dau is really caring. I took his English 101 fast track course online. He lays everything out for each week & is very clear on what needs to get done for each week. He is big on time management & getting things done early. If you are a procrastinator, this class may be difficult for you. As long as you stay on top of the work you will be fine.

I have always known grammar and usage my whole life but studying English 101 with Mr. Dau enhanced my skills. After taking his class, I've always gotten perfect scores on my writing activities. If you are really serious in your studies, go take him. You would learn so much and you'd be able to make use of his teachings BIG TIME.

Professor Dau's class isn't any walk in the park, but I absolutely love this class and Dau so much! Tough grader at first but he just wants you to do well, he will revise your paper as many times as you ask before you turn it in and always offers opportunity for improvement. Dau is truly an amazing professor. Coming in right from high school AP classes, he takes getting used to based on his (what I would call) preferences in writing. He is often readily available after class and during his office hours, as well as via email for questions and feedback. He cares greatly about his students, and pushes his students.

Dont take this class if youre a procrastinator or arent serious about school. he is one of the hardest teachers Ive ever taken but he is also really helpful, youll definitely walk away from this class with new knowledge

Dau is an absolute riot. He's one of the funniest and most enthusiastic professors I've had in ages. He assigns quite a bit of work and does grade INCREDIBLY harshly, but he offers a lot of wiggle room and a re-write to make up for it. He makes you think deeply about the material discussed, and you will learn a lot from him. Hard but fun class.

If you hate English as a subject, he's the professor for you. he will make you love the class. I'm a new English speaker and I'm loving this class. replies very fast to his emails. very good feedback. he will make you rewrite a paper and rewrite assignments. not much reading at all. I'm so upset I haven't taken him for 101.

He tried to help as much as he could on papers and assignments. He tried to connect with students and was an understanding person overall. Would take him again.

Ok, Yeah, he's tough & critical of your work. But that's only to make you a better writer! He is SO communicative, & gives you so many ways to reach out for help. His feedback is helpful, as long as you follow what he lays out for you & do the work you'll be fine! I had covid & was struggling. He was super understanding and helped me finish strong.

I took professor Dau for Eng 101 and Eng 103. I knew his 101 class was hard and I respected him for that because not everything in life will be easy! If you are someone who procrastinates then his class is not for you. Also no extra credit is given but if you do everything and correct your work you should be ok. Don't be shy and ask for help!!!

His class was so much work. it was a real challenge but so much fun.

If you want to learn something and find that reading can be interesting take this guy. If you are a lazy sh*t dont bother.

The assignments were straight forward and all the information you needed to get full credit for the assignment is provided in the lecture/module. If there was an assignment that did not get full credit, you were able to re-submit the assignment after his feedback for full credit. Yes he is a tough grader but do the work and you'll be fine.

You have to make an effort to pass this class, laziness is your enemy with Professor Dau. He leaves assignments open for resubmission until you get a grade you're satisfied with, and he helps you through the entire writing process. That being said, you have to do your part and complete all assignments/readings if you want to succeed in this class.

He grades kinda hard, but he will push you to be a better writer. There are no shortcuts in his class. Overall very cool person.

gives great feedback on papers and all assignments. he'll let you redo the assignments until you have full points. he's a tough grader but allows you to send paragraphs at a time to be able to improve them. sort of crude humor but funny. lots of assignments but they're mostly easy assignments

Ignore the bad reviews. This is by far the best English professor I have ever encountered. He will teach you how to write from different perspectives and isolate arguments to make precise arguments. You will learn how to dissect any conversation and back it up with evidence through discussion and in writing. I would retake him if I had the chance!

Professor dau is an outstanding professor. he grades very harsh and honestly, but allows you to make revisions. as an english major, his class was a godsend as i finished the course a much better writer than before. now that im in much more advanced classes im so happy i had him

Looking back, as an engineering major, out of all gen ed courses in humanities, this English class was my favorite (and I hate reading and writing). Dau is such a good guy, you can't help but love the class. Great environment. Great professor. Great class. Dau goated.

He is always willing to help you with the structure of any assignments. He is available view email to give you feedback on your work and restructure before you submit. Overall great professor and would definitely recommend. Not the professor you want if you just want to pretend to learn in college.
