Carter is great. Super easy and Nice. Does not give out powerpoints but gives lots of extra credit and gives study guides before the tests. If you study and go to class you will get an A no questions asked.
She is nice and she is good looking. Every guy should take her class.
Professor McElveen is great! Just got to class and take notes and you will do fine. She always has great examples and engages you in learning. If you have to take a marketing class I would recomend her :)
Great teacher! Gives great examples and keeps the class engaged. It's obvious she cares about the course and she puts a lot into her lectures. Attend class and take notes and you should do great in the course.
Awesome teacher! Probably my favorite class I've taken so far. If you go to class and study some you will make an A. Gives a lot of extra credit and is a very fun teacher. I made a 100 in the class!
Incredibly nice and wants students to do well. Offers a lot of extra credit opportunities. Definitely recommend.
Absolutely fantastic teacher, she makes success very easy to attain, even if you have to put in a little bit of work come test time. Class is quick and interesting, very empathetic toward students. Gave roughly 15 points of extra credit and drops the lowest grade. TAKE THIS CLASS
Best marketing professor by far! She remembers what it's like to be a student and treats us like adults. I had her for Prof. Selling, and she brought in tons of speakers for us to listen to - WAY more useful than the book. Lectures were usually 10 min. long; I didn't even buy the text, but still made A's. I'd take every class with her if I could!
She is by far the coolest professor! I started off being lazy in the class which is why I got a C. I wish I had done the study guides and studied for the first three tests the way I did for the fourth one and I would have gotten an A. Attendance is not mandatory but if you do attend she gives random extra credit when few students are there.
Very nice professor. The classes are interesting. I did not attend class much at all, still got a B with almost no studying. If I had attended class, it would have been a very easy A. Gives a lot of extra credit and drops your lowest test grade. the final is completely optional. It is only used to replace an old test. Recomended, but attend class
An incredibly nice and upbeat professor. Seriously, she is probably the nicest I've had in my 3 years so far. She took a subject that I really am not interested in and made the class actually enjoyable to attend. With her it is certainly not a hard class, and she's is more than willing to help however she can. Take Carter if given the chance!
Professor McElveen is awesome. She's a really good teacher, and relates the material well to current culture in advertising. She really loves the information, and it shows in teaching it to you. You can either attend the class, or read the book, but you probably won't have to do both to do well on the tests. The projects are easy 100's.
Carter is an unbelievable person to have as a professor. She always did a great job of making sure everyone is involved in the class and learning something along the way. She brings a lot of sales experience into the classroom and has a unique way of teaching it that made everyone enjoy the class. If you have the chance, take her.
She is a fantastic professor. Loves what she does and is passionate about helping each student learn and do well. Her class is interesting and her tests are straight from notes-she gives a good test reviews. Go to her office for any questions-its very helpful! EC is given 4-6 times in the year! I want to take her again!
Great teacher, will work with you on your grade if you need to take the final. So long as you show effort to her you can get the grade you want. Definitely recommend taking her. Extra credit if you go to class on some fridays.
Great teacher! She made the material so relevant and interesting. Go to class! It's fun and it's the only way to do well on tests. She's very helpful outside of class. A lot of material and can't half way do her projects.
She is an awesome teacher. She is helpful and friendly and makes class awesome to go too. She is also hot.
Great class & a great professor! She makes everything relevant and keeps your attention. Attendance isn't mandatory, but there are certain things on the exam you only know if you go to class! Can exempt the final if you're happy with your grade.
Favorite teacher I have had at Clemson. If you come to class she will do anything she possibly can to help you. Shes a great advisor too! Coming to class even though its not mandatory will really help you alot
Carter is my favorite teacher at Clemson. She will literally do anything for you and answers emails in like 30 seconds when she isnt in class. I took this creative inquiry just so I could have her again. Just go to class and you will be fine. She has been a great advisor too. Recommend her to everyone.
Go to class. There are some things that appear on the test that are only from the notes. During review, sometimes she gives you questions straight from the test. Read the book, study your notes and you should do fine. She is 33, so she can relate better to students than the older professors. Always available to answer questions.
Carter is my favorite professor thus far in my Clemson career. She is extremely fair, nice, and clear during her lectures. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you definitely need to go because a lot of the tests is straight from lectures. There was almost never a lecture without a video or activity to take a break from notes. I highly recommend her.
Best teacher I've had so far. She is really nice and is always trying to help out her students. I would definitely take her again. She is also very attractive.
She was one of the easiest and nicest professors I've had. Marketing isn't as difficult a subject, so as long as I went to class, I had no problem getting an A. She literally GIVES you test questions so you know what to study. All the tests are very straightforward.
Meeleven is one of the best professors I've had at Clemson! She cares about her students and about the material. Every class is interesting and full of information and test questions, so make sure to go. Tests can be tricky but I highly recommend her!
This class is definitely not a class that I mind going to. Its interesting and easy as long as you listen. She is a great professor who keeps it interesting
Mrs. McElveen is awesome! Even though her class can be kind of tough for people who aren't that great at memorizing definitions, etc., her class is still fun! She gives great, real life examples that really help you understand the material. Make sure you go to class, its optional, but 90% of her tests are from the inclass notes not in the book! (:
My favorite teacher at Clemson and who made me love with marketing. She is very clear and straightforward with what will be on the test. Go to class, she'll clearly say "this is gonna be on the test" so many times. Not an easy A but 100% doable if you put in effort. Keeps class interesting & engages students and just a great person. TAKE HER!
She is awesome! Greatest professor at Clemson. She makes class fun and interesting! I enjoyed going to class. If you take her in the fall she lets you watch football high lights before class. TAKE HER!!!
McElveen is AMAZING. She's passionate about the school & material. No attendance policy, but lectures are engaging & she gives notes that aren't in the textbook, so go to class. Gave a little extra credit in class, too. 4 exams + a final (she takes highest 4 grades). Read the book for the exams... it's tedious but it'll help a ton. Actually study.
SHE IS AMAZING!! She was always very enthusiastic, told you what would be on the exams! Made her lectures very interesting and relate-able to the real world. You have to put in the work for this class, it's only EASY if you are prepared. I would recommend her to anyone, get ready for a FUN, ENTERTAINING Semester! Go to class, few give me questions.
so far my favorite class and professor. attendance isn't mandatory but there are some stuff in lectures that arent in book& some stuff on tests that were only in books so read. on review days ask about certain things & she will tell you if its on the test. tests are harder than you would expect with application questions. didnt mind going to class
TAKE HER!! She was by far the best teacher I took this semester. Attendance isn't mandatory, however she pin points and reviews certain things that will appear on the test, and the lectures aren't bad at all. The test are fairly difficult so get ready to read the chapters, but she will go above and beyond for you if you need help. Shes awesome!
Mrs. McElveen is the most enthusiastic professor I have taken thus far. Her love for marketing and the Clemson Tigers is unmatched. Though I am not personally a fan of how much emphasis was placed on memorization in MKT 3010, having Mrs. McElveen as my professor made it easier to get through. Attendance is not mandatory but you should always go.
She is a great teacher! Attendance is not mandatory but she doesn't put her lectures online so if you skip class, you won't have the notes for the test. If you go to class, read the book, and prepare for the tests it is an easy A! She is a great professor who is willing to help and makes the class interesting.
She is the greatest teacher at Clemson! I love her!! She is fair and understanding. She cares about her students and is here to help! TAKE HER!
The best professor I have taken at Clemson! If you have the option, TAKE HER! Her lectures are crystal clear, and she is very fun and has funny stories to tell. She makes a class with almost 200 students feel like a homey 20. She cares about each student and even attempts to learn all of their names. Study notes regularly and you'll do fine.
Mcelveen is a great professor! She is super nice and friendly and makes a lot of the lectures fun. Gives out lottery tickets during some reviews. Not many assignments and takes the top 4 out of 5 exam grades. Very clear and willing to help. You'll need to study a lot for the exams but they are fair and reasonable. Smokin hot as well!
Carter was my favorite professor so far at Clemson. You will have to study for her tests and you should 100% buy the textbook because some material doesn't overlap in lectures and she does test on it. However, if you go to class she makes it interesting and I always found myself remembering more from her lectures than other professors. TAKE HER!!
She is an amazing teacher! I would recommend her to anyone who had to take a Marketing class. She knows what she is talking about and keeps all the lectures as interesting as she can. I would recommend buying the book and reading because some material isn't covered in lecture. Great teacher but you do need to put in effort and study for the tests!
She is a fantastic teacher and genuinely cares for her students and for marketing. The class is not difficult as long as you go to class and take notes. The tests are based on vocabulary and she tries to present many examples to make the information clear.
She's amazing!! Highly recommend. Switched my major because of her. Class has a lot of information and can be difficult, but she does great teaching it and keeping the class engaged. Attendance is not mandatory, but you need to go to get a good grade. Final can be exempted and gives extra credit for coming to class sometimes. Take!!
Great teacher and enthusiastic about Marketing. You must go to class if you want a good grade. She is distractingly hot which makes it bearable to go to class. It's a great atmosphere and she's really personal with student's. Compliment her on the first day of class and she WILL remember you and speak to you everyday haha. Highly recommended
If McElveen is offered for one of your courses, take her! Clear criteria for grading. Appropriate difficulty on tests. Fun lectures. Warm and ready to help her students. I have no idea how a student could ever make less than a B. Show up for class and read the material, you will be A okay.
McElveen has got to be one of the best Profs I've ever had. She's funny, she really relates the material to to what you're learning and she's very clear on what she expects of you. I would definitely have her again! She was awesome!
This is my favorite professor I've ever had. She keeps class interesting and prepares you very well for every exam. If you don't go to class, she doesn't take attendance but you are setting yourself up to fail. The exams are straight forward so just take notes and read the book and you'll be golden.
Do NOT take this class with this professor online. The class has an assignment due EVERYDAY (Monday-Friday). Grading consists of 60% assignments, 20% Midterm, and 20% Final. She does not give you any type of help on what to study for the tests, just says "everything we study is fair game." Midterm and final 90 minutes for 90 questions. Stay away.
I took her online course and was very disappointed in the grading and organization. There was an assignment every day, with only a Midterm and a Final which were both nearly impossible. When students communicated with her, she was very passive aggressive and messaged the entire class to stop reaching out to her.
Personally I think it was such a stupid idea for Clemson to let a woman who has been on maternity leave the entire semester teach an online course. I have heard good things about her in class section, but her online class is absolute B.S. This class should have been a layup. Stupid idea for her to try and teach a section this semester
Would not recommend taking this class online. Assignments were easy but test were not only extremely long and hard but you had to pay to have them proctored.
Don't take her online. Seriously. Every other review is accurate.
I had heard good things about her, but her online class was impossible. Only gave out about 7 A's in a class of 338 for an intro level class. A lot of homework, impossible tests, and when people complained about the difficulty she told us not to reach out to her because she will not change any grade.
She was ok
She was a pretty good teacher and all in all I was fine with my grade.
My favorite professor. She's engaging and gives you extra credit if you go to class. Its a lot of work but if you put in the effort its not hard to get an A. Would take her for another class.
I honestly think the only way to fail this class would be to not show up. Put some time into studying and be able to give examples. She's pretty open about what's on the test if you go to the review lecture. The lectures are engaging and she'll let you exempt the final.
If you go to class and take good notes, it's not bad. There is a lot of memorization in the course, but she basically tells you exactly what is on the tests. You do have to read the book, but she tries to choose a cheap one that isn't so bad to read.
She refuses to post any of the lectures online so make sure you go to class to get the notes. She keeps the lectures interesting and she really cares about Clemson. Make sure you do not do anything dishonest in her class because she is actively try to get you kicked out of the university for cheating, but she taught the material really well.
The BEST professor I've had at Clemson. As long as you go to class and take notes there's no reason you would do poorly. She's super fair and you have the opportunity to exempt the final or have it replace your lowest test. She hints at test questions during lectures and sometimes adds points to a test if you're in class when attendance is low!
Probably my favorite teacher I've ever had. She doesn't take attendance but I go because it's actually an interesting class. The tests aren't too bad if you listen in class and study a little bit!
Professor McElveen doesn't require attendance, but I promise you'll want to go. Her lectures are interesting and she has a fun, quirky personality. I highly recommend taking Professor McElveen's class!!
Prof. McElveen is probably the best professor I've had so far and her lectures are enjoyable and helpful. Attendance is not mandatory but I would strongly recommend attending because I looked forward to her class. She is the perfect combination of kind and not tolerant of bs. Definitely a huge role model and she wants to see her student's succeed.
Yo! McElveen is the best teacher at Clemson University, and if you haven't taken any of her courses, you should! She is a great teacher inside and outside of the classroom who cares about her students success. She wants you to not only do well in her class, but she helps set you up to be successful beyond your years at Clemson. I 100% recommend her
Carter is a great person. She is very caring and will help you build yourself for a career in sales. However, I feel that I would have had a better time in a different 4200 section. The exams were thankfully worth 5% but the material was absurd and useless. You do learn in this class but assignments are poor assessment of knowledge.
Carter McElveen is by far the best professor I have had at Clemson. She is helpful and does not give much homework. The best part about this class is that I looked forward to going. I loved being in class and at her lectures. She also tells you exactly what's on the test, so if you put in some effort you absolutely make an A.
A very rare breed of a professor! Probably one of if not the best professor I've ever had! Her class is pretty hard, so if you don't read or study for the test you won't pass, it took me two test to realize that so don't be like me haha. Overall a very good professor with good teaching methods!
She makes this glorified vocabulary class way harder than it needs to be. She doesnt allow any electronics for note taking at all and if she sees a phone will yell at the person in front of the whole class (she forgets who paid for the class). If you do get stuck with her write/record the review quest. Its about 1/3 of the test given to you.
McElveen is an incredible professor! She has so much experience in marketing and sales. This class is not an easy A. You have to work/study hard. Go to her office hours for anything you don't understand. She's very easy to talk to and genuinely cares about your success. This is a class I actually looked forward to going to.
As somone who took Mkt 3010 for a business admin minor, this was easily one of my favorite classes. McElveen is a really kind person who tells you exactly what to do in order to get a good grade. Attendance is not mandatory, but her powerpoints are 90% of what will be on the test. The other 10% is just vocab from the book. Just learn the vocab!
She is my favorite professor I've had at Clemson! If you take notes in class and study well for the exams, it's not a hard class. Exams (all MC) aren't the easiest, but aren't impossible. She makes lectures more enjoyable and is helpful outside of class and just an awesome person in general!
This class is kinda tough because exams are almost your whole grade, but Carter is such a fun teacher. She makes lectures enjoyable and she knows what she's doing. Just takes work to get an A.
If you have the chance to take McElveen, DO IT! I took MKT 3010 and it was seriously my favorite class. To do well you have to go to class AND read the textbook as she tests on material from class that isn't in the book and also on material from the book that wasn't covered in class. Studying for tests takes a good chunk of time, but so worth it
Attendance isn't necessary but that is when she'll give little 'pop quizzes' as extra credit, which is really helpful. also her lectures are super helpful for whats on the test because she doesn't post lecture notes. you don't have to keep up with the readings but it's helpful to go over a couple of days before the test. you also can exempt final
Love this woman so much! Makes class interesting/entertaining and prepares you well for her tests. If you go to class, take notes (she doesn't post her slides), and study the definitions in the book, you'll do well on the tests and get an A in the class. Would recommend taking her class!!!
She is so energetic so even though class is not mandatory, her lectures are always full because students enjoy listening to her. She also includes things in her lectures sometimes that you won't find in the book. To study, I just make a quizlet of her lectures plus the vocab words from the appropriate chapters in the book.
As long as you show up for class then, you will at least make a "C" on the tests. If you show up for the test reviews then that brings you to a "B". She is really energetic and makes the class fun. No homework. You are graded on 4 tests and that's it.
McElveen is the best. She made me realize how passionate I was about marketing! Her lectures are very interesting, and she knows what she is talking about. She stands apart because she truly wants to know all of the students in her lecture hall classes. Go to class, take good notes, and you will do great and learn a lot in the process.
What an awful first marketing class. First off, you only have 5 exams, then three little 2 point assignments. She lets you drop the lowest grade (thank god cause you are gonna have to). If you dont go to class, you will fail. If you dont read the book, you will fail. Test are challenging so good luck. Do not take her if you dont have to!!!
A phenomenal marketing professor! I absolutely loved having Carter as a professor. She genuinely wants you to succeed and wants you to come to her office hours if you're not understanding the material well. She helped me a lot. College is NOT easy. You have to study hard and apply yourself. The grade you get, reflects the amount of work you put in.
I was really nervous to take this class because I honestly hate sales and public speaking. It really is not as bad as you would think. Carter makes it super easy. The tests are barely weighted and the class sales roleplay heavy. It is really easy to get an A in this course. McElveen is also just the BEST.
Overall the class isn't necessarily hard, there is just a lot of work. I am a senior and this class by far had the most assignments I've ever had so just be prepared to spend a lot of time on this class. There are multiple group projects, role plays, 2 exams, and then self evaluation papers. If you spend time you should do fine.
Professor McElveen is probably my favorite professor at Clemson. If you are the type of student who does work to the best of your ability and puts in honest effort, this is the class for you. Professor McElveen teaches you so much more about life and yourself than she does about how to be a salesperson. Get to know her, it'll benefit you forever!
This was by far my favorite class I have ever taken and professor McElveen is the best teacher ever. She truly cares about you and the class was so fun. I learned more in this class than any other. Definitely take her if you get the chance!
McElveen is my favorite professor at Clemson! I highly recommend her class and getting to know her well because she truly cares about her students and will meet with you outside of class any time. She knows everyones names and her assignments are fair and relevant to sales and super useful if you go into it as a career. 1000/10- love her!
McElveen really cares about her students and is always willing to help! Consists of roleplays and presentation mainly, can be a little stressful in the moment but they really help you grow in sales. There are also quizzes but it is not too hard if you study.
GREAT PROFESSOR AND PERSON. she was amazing. Everyone can get an A as long as you work for it, she doesn't just hand out free 100's. has amazing lectures and I had her at 8am and I was engaged the entire time because of how interesting she made class. I recommend her over any professor because of her advice/what you learn in class.
My favorite teacher I've ever had. if you actually try, you will easily pass. She truly cares about her students and if you do the work, she will do everything in her power to make sure you do well in the class. She even will go out of her way to give job opportunities to her students... WHO DOES THAT?!? take her class if you get the chance...
She absolutely wants you to get better at selling and will do anything she can to help you. Definitely tough but it's all tough love. One of the nicest people at Clemson.
Carter McElveen is my favorite professor. She really cares about what she does and she wants her students to be the very best. Her lectures are interesting and there are a lot of guest speakers. You have to put in the work, but it's worth it! Definitely take her if you have the opportunity, you'll learn so much about selling and life!
I'm currently in her professional selling class and I 100% recommend it. I will note that you can't hide behind tests and it's a very interactive class. You can tell she actually wants you to learn and become more professional and prepared for the future.
Carter is AMAZING! You have mainly major grades so it's not an "easy A". If you don't show up or put in the work, you will not pass. She really wants you to succeed in the classroom and in your future career. She is energetic and passionate. This class can be intimidating. It will push you out of your comfort zone, but is so worth it.
One of the best professors at Clemson. She genuinely wants you to succeed not only in her class but in life. One of the only classes I've taken that I will remember what I learned after graduation. Don't take her if you're not willing to go out of your comfort zone and be pushed.
shes awesome
She is a great professor and really wants you to do well. Has 3 pop quizzes but they have like 5 questions and are very easy if you read the chapter. The major grades are role plays and they will be graded harshly but only to make sure you get better and improve. Overall what she teaches is something you will definitely use after you graduate.
Carter McElveen is the best professor I've had at Clemson... by a long shot. She is so passionate, in every class she brings energy and makes her lectures really engaging. The class is difficult in the sense that you must get out of your comfort zone to do well, but she gives amazing feedback and genuinely WANTS her students to succeed.
She is the best teacher at Clemson! She wants to see you succeed and pushes you to well. You do activities that prepare you for a career in sales and other practices with communication. Highly recommend taking this class for professional practice.
Carters class may seem overwhelming at first, but she is there to support you every step the way. The classes role plays are most challenging. There are also pop quizzes and a midterm. The course does ask for a lot of time commitment out of class. Get to know her, she's a great person to talk to and has amazing real world experience.
Carter has been my favorite professor at Clemson. She cares deeply about her students' success, both in and out of her class. 70ish% of her grades are gimme points, so don't worry about getting an A, try to get as much out of the class as you possibly can. She will gladly reach out to you outside of class and as good as it gets at Clemson.
Best professor at Clemson. Cares about her students and will teach you more about sales and life than any other other professor at the university.
Hands down one of my favorite professors at Clemson. She is a bit of a tough grader but only because she wants you to grow, she gives great feedback. She will update you every class on whats coming up. Lots of guest speakers which is fun. She's funny and such a great professor and her lectures are fun.
