The material was easily understood due to the fact that she would relate it to modern day movies, so not only did you understand but you also remembered... gave a review before each test... gives extra credit assignments...

This was a very easy class. If you make an A on your presentation and do well on your tests, you could not do homework assignments and make at least a C. She relates things pretty well to modern day, and my class was really fun. Just if you need to tell her anything, make sure you do it in person, she never checks her e-mail.

This was a great semester. It was the best on-line class I have ever taken. Cary is a great Prof, and is readily available to assist. Weekly assignments and discussions in addition to; 4 tests, 1 Presentation and 4 Journals (Keep on top of your Journal due dates, as they do not appear on your weekly assignment list)

She is one of the best teachers Ive ever had! She gives extra credit quizes and tests are easy just make sure u read the assignments. She also relates some of the stories to modern day movies. I took her during summer and in 8 weeks I missed 6 days and still made an A. I wish all teachers could be as modern and fun to learn from as Ms. Gardell!

I took this class online and over the summer so it's coming from that perspective. This class was fairly easy. She gives you extra credits. Her online format was pretty clear and easy. There are only 2 exams if you are going to take online class and summer term. But her exams kind of hard for me. But you should be fine. Just do your work.

I took this class online during the summer and was satisfied with it overall. The class goes pretty much like this: 1. Read the assigned myths. 2. Answer the questions. 3. Write a discussion and reply to people. It's pretty straight forward and if you do your work you shouldn't have a problem. There are also two tests which are online.

She is a very nice professor. She understands when you can't make it to class because of personal problems. The only thing is she goes off topic too often so she fills you up with u unecessary information that you add to your notes and also grades all assignments until end of semester. Other than that she is not a tough grader on papers or projects

Really easy class all you have to do is sit there and listen, and study a little bit before tests.

Very caring and kind teacher. If you need to talk to her one-on-one about grades or anything she always takes a few minutes after class. All the information on tests are on her powerpoints and she gives a study guide to cover the basics. Easy as long as you listen and read the chapter. Gives you access to the powerpoints.

Amazing teacher. She offers extra credit, her lectures are fun as long as you participate, pretty much make sure you do your homework and get decent test grades and your almost guaranteed an A. She's willing to listen, work, and help you.

I took Gardell a while ago for Intro to Humanities Honors. She was very nice and most classes were spent in group discussion, about art and history and opinions. While I don't believe this participation was ever recorded as a grade, it makes the class easier if she grows to respect your thoughts and opinions.

Mythology is generally an easy class if you're willing to read. Her tests are extremely easy if you are familiar with the assigned stories. Gardell'slectures are fun and usually lighthearted with lots of class participation.

I took this online summer B as a DE student. There are weekly reading assignments and questions as hw and then discussion post and two replies. There are two tests that are really easy if you read the stories and a project that is very simple. Reading and answering questions was the most time consuming aspect. Otherwise, easy class.

She makes her class interesting, she makes a lot of jokes. If you ask for help she is happy to help. The assignments are easy, its just the test that are difficult.

Projects are simple and extra credit is real. Not mean and funny sometimes as well. 10/10 would take her again. test are easy if your literate and sometimes pay attention.

She is my favorite teacher! I have her for HUM 2322. I am excited to go to her class, she is so sweet and helpful. There is no need to stress out, everything we did is possible if you do not procrastinate. Take her classes if you can :)

Amazing teacher, I have taken three of her classes, two in class and one online. I didn't even consider myself a big fan of humanities, but by the time I finished the first class with her I was begging for more. She's funny, gives extra credit options, and the lectures are only boring if you hate humanities or don't talk in class.

Took World Mythology online and was not disappointed. This teacher does not ask you to do any crazy work--her assignments really get you to think about the myths. Myths read were very interesting. Didn't really have much interaction with her, but none was really needed. Would take again!

Very nice woman who caters to everyone's opinions sensitively, help is there if you need it. Grade consists of homework questions, tests, a reflection essay, and presentation - all are easy. The tests and homework are related, but follow her study guides on PAL. The book can be useful, but Google and her Powerpoints online are just as good.

Apply yourself a little and you will pass with an A!

She is amazing. She is very helpful and knows what she is teaching very well. You just have to do the homework for the class and study for the tests, but she gives you everything. She also gives extra credit in case your grade is bordering.

Gardell is easily my favorite professor at Polk State College so far, and I'm taking another humanities class just because of her. Gardell's classroom is very discussion based, and you see the world and history through not only your eyes, but others as well. I wish I could type more but trust me, this professor is a must.

I was still in high school when I took Contemporary Humanities with Professor Gardell and she was amazing! I took Intro to Humanities and that's what had me hooked to want to take the next class. Showing up didn't seem mandatory, but if you did, I found that you would get extra info from slideshows for the test. One presentation, great class!

She knows her stuff and is very passionate about her subject. She is very well traveled and some pictures will be her own. You will have one homework assignment for each chapter and either a test or quiz and that if you do some studying it will be an easy A. If you miss a class all her power points are online so you can catch up.

She was so great I took her for humanities and world mythology at the same time, both easy I got a B in both bus should have gotten and A (i didnt do all the homework) . She leaves homework and all assignments open until the end of the semester for half credit. She went over all tests the class before. Read and do your homework

I took Professor Gardell for Honors Contemporary Humanities and she was wonderful! There wasn't a lot of homework and there was always study guides for the tests. She had a lot of extra credit opportunities too, so take advantage of them!

Definitely a professor I would take again. Her lectures are dynamic and she motivates you on learning the material. Gives very good study guides for the midterm and final exams. Very straightforward. I wish she taught other courses, too.

Although I did this class online, I've met Prof. Gardell in person. She supervises many clubs I'm in. Super kind. Here online HUM2310 isn't as good as the regular class, but it's essentially a book club. You just submit weekly discussion questions and answer questions about chapter you read. Make sure you buy the book BEFORE class starts.

Prof. Gardell was very open-minded, and even if she did not agree with my viewpoints, she respected my opinions and never made me feel bad about them. She was very nice and her lectures were amazing. Her class was very easy as long as you took notes and studied for the tests.

I found the class to be very relaxed. Assignments are clear and there are never any surprise quizzes. Textbook use is a must. Light grader, participation is important along with attendance. As a professor, she knows the material very well and is passionate. As a person, she's very kind, affable, and understanding.

Her lectures could be boring at times, but the information was easy. She didnt give a midterm or a true final so you wont have to retain any of the information that you learn. Her tests were really easy and she has study guides on canvas for all of the tests. As long as you study a little, youll pass.

Gardell is a great professor. Lectures is all you do but she makes you want to pay attention. This class is super easy to pass as long as you read and go over the information on your class notes. Everything on the test is mentioned clearly. Textbook is 100% mandatory! Beware, Gardell doesn't allow you to take pictures/videos of slideshow!

I absolutely LOVE professor Gardell! This is my second time taking one of her humanities classes! She makes everything so interesting! Usually I can't focus in a class, but she changed that. Easy A or B! You have 3 tests (multiple choice, true or false, and little to no write out). You have one SMALL essay & 1 presentation.

I took her class Summer A online and by no doubt was it an easy class. The class has a midterm and final, 5 discussions and 10 question and answer from the book, along with multiple extra credit opportunists(look at the syllabus). She graded discussions easily. As long as you answer the question and added some opinion, she gave it a A.

Easy A. Just do the work and you will pass. I took this as a 6-week course which only required a few discussion posts, questions to answers from the chapters, mid-term, and a final.

The powerpoints helped a lot she would go over them in class and allowed you to take notes. Prof Gardell would also hand out study guides and the answers would be on the powerpoints. The exams would be just like the study guides. She also always has stories to tell about her trips to different places which made the class fun and not boring.

I absolutely loved her film class. We watched four films and wrote a short paper for each. We had some lectures and guest speakers. There was one test on vocabulary which is super easy. And then there is a final project where you watch a movie, write a paper, and do a presentation. Overall, super chill and fun class.

I've taken three classes with Gardell because I love her so much. Her myth class was no different. You have to read stories before class because she has short quizzes for all of them, but they are not hard if you read the stories. Her lectures are super fun and she grades super easy. If you read and go to class, there's no reason you won't pass.

Took this class online, WONDERFUL professor who left great feedback and had a super structured environment. Assignments really got me engaged in the topics and discussion boards gave me a broader perspective from the minds of my classmates.

Thoroughly enjoyed this class, the work could be very time consuming but the material was interesting. Did not get to know professor Gardell very well, but she was very accomodating and gave clear instructions. Great class! I took both HUM2020 and HUM2310 with this professor. She is truly organized and cares about education. The best thing about her classes is that each week has the exact same amount of work, with little variation in length depending on the topic of that week. I'm truly sad to not have another class like these, for they have been the most structured.

This was one of the easiest classes Ive had so far in any level of school. The homework is cake and she opens all the homework sections to go ahead. Tests are easy if you study for them. I failed one cuz I didnt study for it. PowerPoint lectures but are actually interesting most of the time. Shes VERY nice I highly recommend to everyone.

SHe is super easy going I took this class online for fall 2021 and she only had us read and write 300 words plus a discussion with 2 responses each week. Easiest class ever. Discussions are very simple, and are basically participation grades. Tests are easy, and open-book obviously. Easy A, hardest part of the class was paying for the textbook.

I liked professor Gardell she was really nice, respectful and knowledgeable. One thing I truly disliked was that she goes out of topic was too much and its hard to focus when she starts lecturing then begins to talk about something else. She is great but just not for me. I want to get straight to the point and be on my way.

I took her for fil1000, and was not bad. For the most part it's a lot of sitting and listening to lectures. Every few weeks there is a film showing where you watch it and then the following week a 1 page paper is due on it. Be careful there are not many assignments, ALSO SHOW UP FOR THE REVIEW for the film terms quiz. It HEAVILY impacts your grade.

The classes are just her explaining powerpoints but you learn a lot. Only make notes of what you think is important. Their exams are not open notes but it is easier to learn from your notes before the exam than to learn it from Powerpoint. She also puts up a study guide of things that are going to come out and you look for the definition.

My excitement 4 this class never diminished.The readings were V interesting and had me question the wrld & my existence 4 a bit lol. as sm1 said, TAKE NOTES as they will help on the 10 quest- 20min timed wkly quiz.There is no final or any tests, only wkly qz"s,wkly 300wrd reflect (ez if u read & tk notes),and an easy 5 slide powerp prj at the end.

Hi! Im a HS Sophomore, taking Dual Enrollment classes; and this course was so easy! I ended up with a 96% A, she does take a bit to grade, but as long as you properly answer questions you will get a 100. If you are looking for an easy A I highly recommend her course, just be ready to read lots of myths! You also only have 3 assignments a week.

I took HUM2020 as an online fast-track course and it was unbelievably easy. There was 1-2 chapters assigned each week which required a group discussion response & questions pertaining to the reading. As long as you submit your assignments, you will get an A in this class. Highly recommend to anyone taking more rigorous and time consuming courses.

Prof Gardell is very passionate about teaching and her classrooms are always lively. I had her for two semesters and I always looked forward to her classes.
