I wish all Professors at CSI were more like Prof Karacas. He is smart, very strict but reasonable. We're in college after all!Show him you are making an effort & it's rewarding. Pay attention to the power point& when he emphasize certain parts.The documents were clever & educated.Lots of Extra Credits opp.Participate %is huge, turns +B to -A

At first the class seems a little overwhelming but you will eventually get the hang of it. The material is very interesting and he's a great Professor. Take the class, you'll actually walk out learning something!

Excellent professor. He is very helpful and makes himself available to students for questions about assignments. Seems like a lot of work at first, but it isn't overwhelming. Just pay attention in class, and follow his directions/rules and you'll do fine. I highly suggest taking his class- you'll learn a lot.

Prof. Caracas is extremely informative person. I have taken two classes with him. His class highly informative and a lot of work are required. He is very straight forward of what he requires from students. If students work hard and pay attention/participate in class; the class becomes easy and enjoyable. Informative class about various topics, very interesting. The class requires to do some work but if you follow it through you'll be alright.I would definitely recommend to take this course, people please learn some geography.

Very nice professor n very helpful. He gives you the review sheet of everything you need to know for the midterm and final- you will easily pass so long as you find the answers to the review sheet yourself n study them. Pop quizzes on the notes from the class before and film/news/article assignments. Easy to pass so long as you do your work n study

Professor Karacas is extremely professional in every way. He wants his students to act like adults and be taught like adults. For once I finally felt like I was in an actual college classroom. It was a lot of work but I learned a lot in his class. He gave extra credit,DO THEM! Do every assignment because in the end you will get the grade u deserve

I enjoyed his class very much. He makes this class very interested, however it gets hard at the end. The movies are very interesting and open everyones mind on issues that are happening in our world that no one would ever think of. If I could take another course with this professor, I would never hesitate, because I know I would learn a lot. :)

The class was interesting despite the fact it was during the summer.The map quizes were ok if you studied by writing the countries over.Read asg were easy.It was educational and beneficial to learn about population demographics. It's the best class ever taken in summer. By the end of semester, you will be able to put the world in your pocket. I liked Map quizes, it was fun to know where countries are. Reading assignments were interesting, exams were from notes, so make sure you write notes on the class. I recommend you to take this class even on summer. He is a gr8 prof.

I took this class during the summer. The class itself gave a nice introductory understanding to quite a few issues and areas, some of which are very important but not usually discussed.

This class was great. If you do all the work, write good notes, and study there should be no problem getting an A. This teacher gives many extra credit opportunities and it is a great idea to do as many as you can because it will really benefit your grade. Highly recommended.

I loved this class! All the topics we discussed were so interesting that it was hard not to pay attenion. It is alot of work so expect to put in a few hours a week but the work isn't hard. If your a lazy student don't take this class because you will fail. He's very clear about what he wants which I liked. More profs should be like him!

Prof. Karacas is very knowledgeable in this subject. At first, the work seems excessive, but as you go along you get the hang of the requirements.The Prof.is very firm in what he expects of you, but is very fair in grading and gives his students plenty of opportunities to boost their grades if needed. For tests, really focus on the review sheet because they are really helpful! He wants you to do well so as long as you do your work you will be fine. If you're lazy don't take this class!

He was a great professor, helped you out whenever you needed him to. The workload is a lot but not hard at all and are on important issues that we should be educated on, for instance subject matter on 9/11 and the Vietnam bombing. This class did require a lot of work and it was hard. But in the end he did help those who came to him. Especially when it came to the final presentation. If I had any questions or wasn't sure he'd help me out and give me helpful suggestions for the presentation.

Great professor! Tells you exactly what he wants from you in order to get an A. There is a lot of work! However, it was a phenomenal learning experience because it involved learning about the world and the issues that come along with it.

This was by no means an easy class. However, i can honestly say that my knowledge of Geography and general world happenings is exponentially expanded after this class. There is work, but it is a fair amount. I took this class during a 14 day winter intercession and it was great. I'm so happy i chose this option over other classes. Highly recommend!

Overall great professor, the class moves very quick and he makes it easy to keep up. The information in the class is interesting and toward the end very current in the news.

hand in an annotate notes upon the reading(2-5pgs). This caught many students of guard. Don?t get me wrong, this Course was easy but a lot of work. You honestly have to be determined and not have a job or children and not have more than 12 credits to do well in his class. He is passionate about his work and expects us to dedicate ourself too.

Although I was not able to continue with what i was saying.. he loves what he does... its an easy class which he helps us at any time of the day. You just have to work hard and determine youself because its a lot of reading and writing. But you learn alot and will help with graduate school.

this prof is really awesome!! we didnt have a textbook, but all reading material was posted on blackboard. the classes were really interesting and he was very clear. if you take good notes (all notes are from his slides) you'll be fine on the exams. this class is worth taking!!!!

at first i was afraid of taking this class but throughout the course it got easier. he is a wonderful professor, may come off tough but is really a sweetheart. i recommend his class 100%. i got an A in this class and it was not that bad. just have to work out your worth ethics and tie. other than that hes great and buy the books..

Professor Caracas is straightforward, easy to follow, and interested in he teaches. Attending his classes was a pleasure. His tests reflected what was taught in class and assigned in the reading assignment. No guess work! If you keep up with the assignments and take good notes,passing his class is a breeze.

Professor Karacas is a great professor. He clearly enjoys the topics he covers and conveys that in his lectures. He makes class interesting, and a three and a half hour class flies by. As long as you attend class and put some effort in, you will pass!

STUDY your maps. Copy your notes. Everything he says will be on the test WILL be on the test. Crystal clear; knows his material. DO YOUR WORK, and he will give you opportunities for a higher grade. Great Professor! Class was always interesting. Unlike a lot of other classes you may take during your college career, the information you learn in his class could be applied to everyday life. I attended his winter class. His lectures and powerpoints were clear. He gives study guides, and extra credit to help you inprove your grades. This is a fantastic class. There is more reading than your average 200-level, but its intellectually stimulating and generally informative. For the most part, we don't have an Asian-Studies program at CSI, but Prof. Karacas does great work in making this course engaging. Its a must take for the serious student interested in Asia.

A good amount of reading is needed and time to put into this class. Weekly reading notes and responses are required for the final project. Classwork is fun as group work. Teacher breaks down what he wants and when very well. Was a difficult course but worth the brain challenge.

I took this class as a summer course, so it was a little harder considering everything was squeezed into 4 weeks. Easy map quizzes on different parts of the world, homework that was sometimes boring to read but easy to do, tells you every single thing that's on the test but it's a lot of material to remember so study! Gives extra credit

His class was great! I left knowing a lot more about NYC as well as myself as a writer. Oral presentations every class can be rough but you'll get the hang of it. Make sure you participate! If you don't like to talk ever be prepared to be called out or lose a lot of points. Overall I recommend this professor he genuinely cares about his students.

Accidentally signed up for the class (it was an honors class) instead of an on level. Thought I would regret it but it ended up being the best class of the semester by far. Very helpful, interesting material. Class participation is a must and there was 3 books to read, but the in class discussion made it fun. 1010 would take again.

One of the best professors you can take. He makes the course so simple that if you do bad, it's entirely your fault. He does everything he can to help you boost your grade. Cary is one of the best professors in CSI. His tests are not that hard because they are based on the homework questions & TQ's. The only challenging part of his tests may be the map portions, however, if you study or use an app (the fun way) to practice where they are located, they are easy. He offers a lot of extra credit as well. He's awesome!!!

This professor is great. I had him for Geography 101. If you go to class, do the homework, and do some extra credit you will do great in his class.

Though attendance isn't mandatory, it's foolish not to go. He straight-up gives you the test questions in class and pulls questions from the online homework word-for-word. This class offers a really good basis for world knowledge. I received 80s on tests, but did all of the HW & got 100 on the paper so I received an A-. Very fair grader.

No text book needed if you show up to class, but you need to access a Pearson geography website at a cost of $35 to do the homework. Much cheaper than a text book. You really have to TRY to fail this class. Prof. Karacas makes it spoon fed easy, takes test questions directly from the easy HW multiple choice Q's. Also clearly marks info in lectures that will be on test as TQ(test ques.) He really tries to make lectures interesting. On top of that, he's handsome in dorky way. Think, Clark Kent! The subject is not really interested in me. But after I took this class, my mind changed a lot and a lot. First of all, the prof is amazingly kind and careful. He make a point really well, also he make a lecture so nor bored. I took a 9 am class. But never fell in sleep. He made me study ! MUST TAKE THIS ! YOU WILL APPRECIATE ME !!

My experience with Mr. Karacas was a positive one. Here is a professor that is knowledgeable in his field, with a real passion for teaching. This is an honors course, therefore you need to work hard for your grade. Took his course in the summer. Very intense due to such a short period of time, but Professor Karacas made sure we all passed by allowing us to make up previously failed work and by giving tons of extra credit. Extra credit turned my grade from a B to an A-. I've taken him twice already and I hope I get to take him again in the future. Love him!

He is a very good professor, if your dumb and lazy then you'll fail. Any person who has failed his class must have not been trying at all because his class was a cake walk. There are a ton of quizzes but there nothing to fret if you actually study for them.

Professor Karacas presents the subject matter in an engaging and interesting way. During the summer semester you might be doing assignments often but its never more difficult than you can handle if you read the chapters, pay attention, and study for the geography quizzes. Not a difficult A at all

If you take this class in the summer it will be tough but the Professor outlines everything you have to do to pass and presents an engaging atmosphere to learn in. The map quizzes might be a bit difficult but if you study and take online quizzes at sites like sheppardsoftware you will be fine.

Prof. Karacas is a great professor. But if you are planning to take his classes during a short semester like summer let me tell you that you'll have to work super hard for that A. Study the world map, do the hws and do the xtra credit it really helps alot. He is going to tell you what is going to be in the tests with a TQ in his lectures. TAKE HIM!

I took him in a summer session. He's organized & clear of his expectations. This, enabled me to stay organized & productive. The lectures were interesting, he presents the material in a way that is easy understand. The reading & writing assignments were due often because of the short session but doable if you follow his syllabus. Great professor.

If you pay attention, show up, do the work and take notes, you will definatley get an easy A. The professor is a good guy who genuinely loves the subject he teaches and that is shown in his both his knowledge and teaching. Tests are easy, he would tell us exactly what would be on the tests and use questions from homework.

Lectures are a little long and boring, but within the lectures he provides TQ's (test questions) & answers that match up perfectly with the exams. There is hw, but its very easy, and a lot of extra credit is given. OVERALL EASY CLASS TO PASS!

The best geography professor in CSI, only reason why you dont get an A is if you dont study the test questions or homework. I recommend, he knows his craft. Yet, he will be straight forward with some controversial topic, but that's his job.

No professor gives as many extra credit opportunities for students who need them and he always does his best to make sure he's clear about a topic. Definitely one of the best at CSI.

Professor Karacas is very outstanding and straight forward. He actually breaks down his grading process and tells you how to get an A. His extra credit projects are not that hard. The class is very easy, as long as you do your part, which is not that difficult, you will get an A 100%.

You actually have to try, if you want to fail this course. Karacas is a super chill professor and he does everything in his power to make sure all his students pass. His tests questions are pulled from the online homeworks, and he gives you them in class too. If you show up, participate, do the extra credits and homeworks, you'll do fine.

Three tests, but he gives all the TQs before. Homework every week, some of it on tests. He cares about his students, gives so much extra credit you can pass on that alone, he wants everyone to succeed & gives career/life advice. His class was so interesting I almost changed majors. CSI is lucky to have him as a professor!

I took this course over the summer thinking it would be a breeze but it wasn't, there was a semesters worth of work jammed into a month. He had us go on field trips to the city that I dreaded but I actually had a lot of fun. The professor just wants you to open your eyes to things and learn and I definetly did !P.S Know the world map before going

I took professor Karacas in the summer. Even though he used his original syllabus from a regular semester, he made the class both educating and worth-while. You will come out from the class's with much knowledge regarding your city, the world, and cultural societies. I would definitely recommend him for future students.

I took the summer intensive course and while many of my classmates complained about the course load, I honestly felt like it was very very doable. He offers way more extra credit than he should so there is no reason that anyone shouldn't get an A. His map quizzes were a pain to study for but Im honestly grateful for them now. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND

I took prof. Karacas during summer of 2016. He knows history inside and out. He will answer any of your questions. He gives extra credits and respects each student equally. The field trips that we took were amazing and inspired me to do same with my kids. he has a great sense of humor and is very understanding of your needs.

This was my 2nd time taking him and he gave amazing lectures and the class was very interesting. The field trips around the city were great and you learn so much from them! He also gives a lot of extra credit if you do poorly on tests.

One of the best professors in CSI, if not the best. He truly cares about his students, and wants them to pass. His test are LITERALLY the notes and hw questions word for word. He gives plenty of extra credit, so even if you do poorly on tests' you can always bump your grade up. Very intelligent and charismatic professor. Would definitely recommend.

Prof. Cary Karacas is the best professor I had for my first semester as an International Student in the United States. His class is an easy A for the students who pay a little bit attention. A lot of extra credits and the exams are easy because he gives you the Test Questions from the lectures. I totally recommend to everyone to take him!

Dr. Karacas is truly an amazing professor. He has a deep passion for geography which shines through in his lectures. The lectures are always entertaining and informative. I took Professor Karacas and I couldn't of been happier with the result. He makes the guidelines of the class very clear, the class was actually enjoyable, lectures were interesting. Studying for the tests is very important, if you do than it should be very easy. The best part was the excessive amount of extra credits he gave some even worth 15%.

Karacas has to be one of CSI's clearest and straight forward professors. The test are exactly like the homework, he gives extra credit during EVERY class. He takes his job seriously and you're in college at this point also. You'd be a dumbass to fail his class. Its an Easy A and youll learn more than u knew about the world.

Prof. Karacas is a great guy. This class is really easy, you have to really put in A LOT of work to get anything lower than B. He gives out so much extra credits it's really hard to fail. All of his questions for the test are from his hw and lecture. I would definitely take him again!

Professor Karacas is really nice. His exams are a bit tough but he gives lots of extra credit that helps you make up for the low test grades. Lots of homework but they are all multiple choice. And again I must repeat, lots of extra credits!! Impossible to fail this class with the amount of extra credits that he gives!!!!!

Easiest A I've taken! He gives out so many opportunities for extra credit and even gave one that was worth an entire test grade! It is entirely your fault if you fail the class. I personally believe he is a very good teacher. As long as you study, do homework and show up to class you should obtain an A. Hes down to earth and if you talk to him he will try to help you as much as he can i enjoyed taking his class.

It's really hard to fail this class! All you have to do is show up, pay attention, take notes, review the homework questions and use a world map App on your phone to review the countries assigned and you will get at least a 90 on every test. I really enjoyed this class. You'd be surprised, some of his extra credit might teach you and thing or two..

Professor karacas is my favorite professor so far. He is lecture heavy however he knows what he's talking about. Do the homeworks and THE EXTRA CREDIT HE GIVES SO MUCH. If your not a good test taker do the Extra Credots and you'll be fine. Study for his test they are not hard considering he uses all hw questions and notes. I would take him again.

I was never a big fan of geography but I wanted to take this class to enhance what little geography knowledge I have. Easy class. There are three tests and one paper. The questions from the tests are comprised of a combination of hints given in lecture and in homework questions.

Gives everyone an A, just a pain to deal with all the class trips and the assignments and the presentations to give.

If you do your work, this class is an easy A. He is a very nice person, and offers a ridiculous amount of extra credit. I went from a D to a B solely because I did the majority of the extra credits. Long lectures, and 2 100 question tests. Study a little bit, do your work and you will get an A.

Professor Karacas is one of best in the department. If you show that you care and actually study you'll be fine. The only thing I dreaded was the trips we went to but even those turned out to be cool and informative. He gives a lot of extra credit and his finals aren't that bad so if you study a bit, you can def get an A

Professor Cary Karacas IS an AMAZING professor. He provides so much extra credit its insane, so even if your grades aren't the best due to hw/exams, he gives you so many chances to make that up with the extra credit. The class is pretty long but we are let out early for the most part. I would 100% recommend.

Professor Karacas class is definitely an easy A. However if you dont even try you probably wont pass. Theres a huge load of opportunities for extra credit in this class and exam study guides are a real gem. He does have his own views on society that you SHOULDNT take personally. Professor Karacas is one of the most helpful professors I ever came across. I was struggling in his class. However, he offered 20% extra credits towards the final grade, which got me a B in his class. Dont hesitate to take him and hes always available to provide feedbacks. Also, the questions are straightforward from the study guides he provides.

I made the mistake of not going to classes and let me tell you, unless you have a friend that will give you the TQs youre not going to do well on the tests. Truly enjoyed attending lectures. Professor Karacas is very clear and direct regarding the expectations he has of his students and offers plenty of opportunity to earn extra credit as well. Would 100% take him again. I had him for a summer session that was supposed to be in class, but due to COVID it was moved online. I had Karacas this past fall. Homework's and map quizzes were giving online every week which were pretty easy. A lot of extra credits. Attendance is not mandatory but test questions are giving in class. Best part about this class is the fact that I now know where every country is at.

From the very beginning of class you have a road map of the dates assignments are due, and what exactly is expected of students. All the online lectures were available from the first day, so you can get a head start. He is super organized and attentive, and the material is interesting and relevant. No textbook costs! Professor karacas is actually the complete opposite of that negative review. He is very fair and does not in any way give you a lot of work. He actually gives less work then most he even reminds you everytime something is due, unlike most professors. As long as you do your minimal quizzes and HWsI cant see why you dont get a good grade.

great professor not having him in person for this semester but my cousin had him last semester. A lot of reading for homework but his quiz is quite easy so i would say it is a good pick if you want to boost your GPA. Beside he offer decent amount of extra credit throughout the semester.

Took prof Karacas for GEG 225 over the winter. It was asynchronous and only for about 3 weeks. He is very knowledgeable and knows how to interact with the students. Homework every week and the answers were either in recorded lectures or the readings he provided. In addition, he will give map quizzes which were easy and a zoom map test. Take him!!!!

Professor Karacas is just amazing! I took his class GEG 225 online through winter semester and I just loved this class. He posted all quizzes and assignments week before we started semester so I was able to complete all of the assignments before we even started. Because of this class I decided to minor in Geography! If you can take it!!!!!

The best Professor I've ever had!

There's no way any one should fail this professor's class. He offers multiple extra credit in order to get an amazing grade. The tests are super long and lengthy, 100 questions on both the midterm and final. The readings for the homeworks are long also. But other than that this professor was great, he tells you where to find EVERYTHING!!

I took Prof Karacas for Winter semester GEG 232. He was so understanding and helpful. Everything is as told in syllabus. It is so straightforward. One of the best professors in CSI.

Professor Cary was overall a great professor. He allows extra credit and answers emails very quickly as well as grades quick. I took him for a winter class and I am so happy that I did. Just be prepared to read and have homework every day of the winter class. Also prepare for the zoom test its important to study. If youre a serious student .

He's a very fair grader and does offer extra credit. The class itself (Cultural Geography) is very interesting. It's like geography + history. He is specific when it comes to assignments so make sure you do everything he asks for, but I highly, highly recommend him. Nothing that's on the tests are things he didn't teach.

This guy is one of the best professors you could take. He genuinely cares about his students and wants you to succeed. If you get anything below an A in this class its because you didnt try, not only is he an easy grader that explains everything in detail and gives fair assignments, but he also gives multiple opportunities for extra credit!!

His Geography classes made me minor in Geography, and I have learned a lot of places on maps, which helped me be more aware and prepared for my educational career. I loved this class! It was so informative and interesting, and the content presented is so important! The professor spells out everything from the grading rubric to the syllabus in great detail. He lets you submit work early so you make corrections to get an A. He offers extra credit and wants you to succeed. Take the map test, and take his class!

Professor Karacas was a really great professor. I took him for a winter session and it was a lot of reading material in a short time, however very interesting reads in my opinion. He genuinely just wants you to learn. He gives multiple opportunities to practice the map quizzes so you can pass the live map test. He is also very caring. Take him!

I’m not sure what this other person was thinking when they gave him a 1 star review but this professor is great. He shares his opinion but doesn’t impose it on you. His lectures are really informative and enjoyable. The text messages he sends are great reminders when you’re having a busy weak. AMAZING professor!

Honestly as a freshman, I didn’t know what to expect. My first semester teachers were, questionable to say the least. After watching the introduction video on Professor Karacas, I felt both inspired at the level of commitment he has towards his job, and hospitality he has for his students. He’s a very good educator, and I respect him immensely!

The online course was clear to understand and professor was quick to respond with any questions. Professor puts his political views in a lot of the questions, but if you can look past that, it is an easy pass.

By far my favorite class. He uploads all the assignments and their due dates but if you want you can do all the assignments ahead of time because he leaves it open until the due date. Everything you need is there. Tests are open note just pay attention and take good notes.

Professor Karacas is extremely caring, knowledgeable, understanding, and is easy to talk to. He is by far the best Professor I've ever had. I wish there were more Professors as wonderful as him. HW, quizzes, & tests are super simple. Stay on task, take great notes, and this class is an easy A.

He is a kind man . The work is straight forward , you either do it or do not. There is plenty of extra credit opportunities so even a "B" student can get an A. I did not care much for all the discussion of politics , but I can tell he is passionate about it so I respect him for his enthusiasm. Very cool class , he will do right by you .

Professor Karacas is an amazing professor. By taking this course along with getting an easy A, as long as you complete all assignments, you would become more educated in geographical, political, and racial spheres. He gives extra credits. If there is any question, you can email Professor and he gives you a very quick response. Highly recommend!

He is very clear on his grading criteria for the class. If you have questions ask and he will reply. The class is very clear and easy. Take notes and pay attention to the lecture. This class is only easy if you pay attention to the lectures and you do what is needed. By far one of the best and very informing classes I've taken.

This was an easy A. You have to watch his lecture videos because he tells you what information will be on the exams. Quizzes were based on readings and maps, which were all insanely easy. Do the last assignment early. If I could take him again, I would. Great professor

Professor Karacas brings new purpose to asynchronous and typically impersonal online courses. He is extremely knowledgeable and I learned so much from his class. Map quizzes help you become more geographically literate and his lectures are unbiased and engaging. He follows the syllabus to a T and that makes it easy to know whats expected of you.

Although the course is only online, the reading material provided by the course is very enlightening. The course work also helps me develop good reading habits. Great professors and courses!

Cary is an amazing professor! He is caring, understanding, and he wants everyone to get an A in the class. I often forget I'm taking his class. He gives examples for his big assignment, which makes it 100 times easier. He answers emails within the hour. His work is all on blackboard from the minute the semester starts. TAKE HIM AND GET THAT A!

I had all professor Karacas classes. His course materials always interesting, and Professor Karacas has his own unique teaching way and no complicated . His class in fall 2023, was fun material . Getting to getting opportunity to know New York City by fun trips along with some reading two week. Prof. Karacas is generously grading our assignments

Geography 229 is a course centered around field trips across New York City, which attracted me to take the class. Prof. Karacas was understanding and provided me with a lot of help throughout the semester. The field trips are fun and the work isn't hard in my opinion. If you want to explore New York City, I recommend it! It was a good experience!

Professor Karacas is amazing! He is so knowledgeable and really passionate. This class was awesome, we went on 5 trips around New York City that were very informational. Even though I am a Native New Yorker, I learned so much about NYC. I would totally recommend this class because it was so much fun!

Professor Karacas is passionate about this course and wants all his students to do well. We went on 5 trips to New York City where we gave a presentation about different locations we visited. He gives you ample time to prepare for these presentations and gives you an easy-to-follow format for each assignment.

Great teacher, super passionate. Class was about the geography of NYC. Every 3 weeks you researched a topic to present based on an area we would visit in Manhattan. Presentation required you to read and do research beforehand, then memorize your presentation for the trip. You do have to work to earn your grade, but he doesn't ask for TOO much

He's is a great prof. Our class was only 5 times in the whole semester. We have field trips to NYC. I learned a lot of nyc even as a native of nyc. I would take the class again. There is hw to prepare for the class so little warning but you have three weeks to do hw that you can do in one day. The easiest A!

Great proffesor, took this class for extra credits and honestly didn't think I'd be into geography. His lectures give you good background history on countries around the world and the homework are easy. If you dont show up to his class then dont expect yourself to pass.

To be honest, before this class I used to hate geography, especially maps. If someone asks me where I am located on the map, I didn't know. After taking this class I now know most of the countries on the map. This is amazing for someone who hates learning maps.

No talking and sit in the back to use ur phone are the only two rules. Show up to class and put in effort and this class should be easy. Map quizzes (done at home) and homework are very easy. He talks about politics so if you get triggered easily don't take him. 9/10 I would take him again.

I am HORRIBLE when it comes to knowing a place on any map. I went into his class thinking I was automatically going to fail but the assignments are helpful and I have more knowledge about geography! He gives extra credit which is great if you want to increase your grade. I learned a lot from this class and I am thankful I took it this semester.

Before this class, I was terrible in geography, but now I know where most countries were Located.Homework was extremely straightforward and taught me a lot about countries that I previously knew but didn't know where they were located.

Professor Karacas made receiving anything below an A virtually impossible. The homework was extremely straightforward and was just locating countries on the map and watching short documentaries. The extra credit was to go to the MET and take pictures with a short reflection (+5% to overall grade). The map test was literally identical to the HW.

Professor Karacas is one of the best professors. I am glad I took his class. I never liked the map, but now I know most of the countries' locations. His lectures and assignments are very well explained.

Professor Karacas keeps this class engaging with fun NYC field trips. While there's some prep work, it's manageable. The lectures are worthwhile, and unstuckstudy ai is a great study aid alongside the materials. Would definitely take again.

Professor Karacas's class was so interesting to me. The map quizzes made me much more knowledgable of the world. His lectures are amazing and you can tell he is so passionate about what he does. He is an amazing professor and I would recommend him to anyone. His class is not hard at all, it just can be time consuming work but is so interesting.

By far the best professor I had in CSI. His knowledge of what is happening around the world is amazing and he is not ashamed to share his viewpoints. I loved how he relates current situations to his curriculum. The map quizzes literally took 30 seconds to complete and helped with locating countries on a map. He offers a lot of extra credit as well

I took Prof. Karacas last summer! His class is an easy A+, if you do the work. I actually enjoyed the maps, and feel like I learned a lot from doing them. I would definitely take his class again.

Good teacher, a lot of work although very rewarding work, everything may seem repetitive at times but you feel like you are actually paying attention and learning. Which I sometimes don't get with actual in-person classes

The topics are so interesting. Only downside, lecture notes take forever and can be stressful. But the film responses and map quizzes are fun and engaging. I really wish no lecture notes. It stresses me out the most 4 hours to get it done. I definitely would take him again though. He's amazing just wished he didn't have us do the lecture notes.

Very easy compared to other 4 credit classes. Just do the work and u will get an A.

Prof. Karacas is the best professor at CSI by far! He allowed me to take an individual world map assessment with him in the beginning of the semester, so I would not need to take the weekly map quizzes. He is extremely vocal about IMPORTANT topics relating to the current state of the world, which most of the students appreciate very much. Take him!
