He's a nice guy, the class isn't too hard (just make sure you participate in discussion and show up to class bc attendance counts). Every two weeks-ish you have to ready about 40 pages and that can be kind of hard, but that's the only assignment besides the mid-term and final. Would recommend this class to non-art majors looking for a VP credit
Prof Levine is an acquired taste. He's pretty savage, which is funny until you get caught in the crossfire. In and out of class, he will be brutally honest. He can do a little better with providing feedback and clarity for assignments, but he's a great professor overall. Really makes you think.
This is not an easy class. But if you want to begin to understand contemporary art (emphasis and begin), then you will not do any better anywhere else in the world within an academic setting. He fits the perfect NYC art critic description. And he knows his stuff. He is literally writing the history of contemporary art. He will challenge you.
IDST 190 (gender) is a really easy and interesting course. Highly recommend for first years trying to check off some gen eds. The class is really easy and straightforward. If you just go to class and do the homework, it's really easy to succeed. The only exams are the midterm and the final, and both are really manageable.
He clearly cares about his students. Unfortunately, class assignments were vague and the discussion was as bland and conceited as you might expect from an honors class about contemporary art history. I'm not sure he graded any of the assignments himself, but grades were harsh without much explanation.
Fairly vapid course full of base-level knowledge of artists and artworks. All the information/material provided to us felt like it was gleaned off the Wikipedia page of each artist before class, nothing very insightful or interesting. Assignments were vague, with no true rubrics ever being created. Not accepting of critiques he doesn't agree with.
Dr. Levine's 285H is a pretty good class. He is funny and approachable. The discussions weren't as interesting as you might expect them to be considering the material. The papers weren't too hard. We had to meet in groups periodically outside of class to discuss the readings, so he essentially added an unofficial recitation to the course.
Prof. Levine is a real art world guy. I gained a lot of base-level knowledge from this class, and found the lectures interesting and easy to follow. However, they could have gone a bit more in depth -- a lot of it was repetitive. If you attend lectures, take good notes, and do the readings (which are pretty easy/short for ARTH), you'll do well.
Prof Levine was funny and pretty approachable. Lectures were were pretty interesting and if you take good notes you'll easily get good grades on the midterm and final. There were two essays for this class but they were easy and only had to be 2-3 pages. Overall, I'd recommend it.
they don't even know what they are talking about. They are giving tremendous amounts of readings, and quizzes for every class, and never give practice for midterms.
so annoying. the worst person to listen to ever. not understanding. toxic.
Levine might be a good professor for art, but for Gender, try to steer clear of him. He went the whole semester telling us we only had to "interpret" art subjectively, and then 2 classes before the midterm, he told us we had to memorize a bunch of art that we covered, their creators, and their history. Highly disappointing, do not take him.
Terrible professor with no common sense. Did not have a clear syllabus, plan, or anything regarding how the course works.
Do not take gender as your triple-I. The class overall has very little structure, and the professors do nothing to help. Levine is very condescending and expects everyone to think art history is the most important thing in the world. This class is definitely harder than it needs to be, and the teachers DO NOT CARE.
Do not take gender (IDST116) The material is boring, class is not structured well, way more work than any other Triple-I. LONG, boring readings 3 times a week, 3 difficult quizzes on those readings. did NOT prepare us at all for the midterm. I'll be happy if I get a 70 on the midterm because this class is so dreary.
awful. so much reading for no reason. midterm and final take up 45% of grade and isnt even what we discussed in class.
literally horrid. IDST 116 (Gender) is a fine class EXCEPT for Levine's portion. He expects a class full of freshman that were automatically enrolled in this Triple-I to memorize 50 art pieces, their artists, history, significance (in his pov), that we've maybe talked about once, if even at all. Class is horribly unstructured.
Prof Levine is the worst professor out of the 3 professors in the Gender Triple-I. He literally screamed at the class to "shut up" and humiliates students who are sleeping/on phone in a 300+ lecture class. Showed fake s*x scenes and then never discussed it?? Class graded on impossible midterm/finals that are worth 45% of your grade. DO NOT TAKE!!
Gender is a great class and Levine is the best of the three. I don't know what the neg reviewers are talking about. Levine is clear and passionate and caring about students. Most of the negativity is bc he doesn't let you off easy. Your in college, grow up! Levine is excellent as is this class!
I would defintely recommend this class and Levine. All around good class and prof
He makes it fun and interesting. Yes, he's a little sarcastic and doesn't take bs from students. But you shouldn't sleep in class anyway. I never thought I would like art history, but Professor Levine makes it really interesting and relevant.
DO NOT listen to any other reviews. The people posting are mad that they had to pay attention to do well on the midterm and blame him for their incompetence. I didn't always pay attention either but that's not his fault! He's very funny and knowledgeable about art, and his portion of the class was pretty easy, albeit weird. Pick this triple-I!
This is a really good class and Professor Levine is the best of the three. Really made me appreciate art in a different way. I would def take him again.
Professor Levine was clearly dedicated to gender representation in art history. However, his lectures were very monotonous and at times vague, with very little guidance on what exactly we should be taking away. If you enjoy art history, you'll most likely enjoy him, but if not, good luck.
Do not listen to other people's ratings of the gender triple-i. The class really isn't that hard. You can get by just skimming the readings, and the papers are pretty easy. The professors are friendly and genuinely want you to succeed. Everyone giving this class bad reviews plays games the whole lecture and expects not to have to actually learn.
Cary was a terrible gender professor. He did nothing but continuously repeat different words for the female genitalia. He is very problematic and out of touch with reality. gross never take this class again/
Anyone who thinks this class is hard has no idea what a hard class is. His lectures are very interesting and entertaining, and he is clearly extremely passionate about the subject matter. Makes lectures fun and interactive, I look forward to coming to this class.
In a class full of ultra-sensitive losers, you'll see various reviews on here that are simply a spiteful attempt to hinder Professor Levine's reputation. In actuality, he is a fabulous lecturer in a class that is possibly easier than any I took in high school. Any rating below a three on here is the result of an ego hit to low-achieving students.
if you think this class is hard, you should not attend university. sir levine is my idol and i will take any one of his classes that i can. the TAs grade fairly easily. its a lot of readiing but its not necessary because the midterm is short and the class is mostly common knowledge.
Yes what these last ones said is right. Class is not so hard and professor Levine is great. The rest are just complaining about having to actually do their work and be in college.
Good class good professor. A little hard with 3 subjects but all triple is are like that. Professor Levine makes it interesting and fun.
This class is a lot of work. He is not very understanding and not a kind person at all. While it's not the most impossible class, it is hard and it's a lot of boring memorization of art pieces and their artists. You'll learn something for sure. Up 2 u whether it's worth the stress of memorizing 60+ art pieces, their artists, and their significance.
Very caring and passionate professor. Really cares about students. I had an issue and met with him and he was very sensitive.
He wasn't horrible, but I definitely did not enjoy having him as a prof. He tried to be funny but it was always just awkward, and his lectures were either insanely boring or insanely weird. He always wanted us to know more about the authors of the readings rather than the actual meanings of them.
Really good professor. He kept things a little light but also really interesting. Highly recommend.
Professor Levine is the worst professor out of the three in the gender triple-I. This course is terrible and I dreaded going to class M,W,F. Levine's lectures are boring and offensive to women. Almost every image of artwork shown to us had a naked woman in it. He is rude to students and likes to pick people out from 300, and humiliate them.
Loved this class, Levine is clearly super passionate about his topic and is great at teaching it! Grades can be a bit hard to follow since there aren't a whole lot of graded assignments in class, but would absolutely retake this again and take another class with him. Super interesting!
Levine is a great professor-- anyone who says otherwise needs to grow up and learn that memorizing a few term is not some great injustice. His lectures were very funny + engaging and he was always available to meet with students. Great class would take again.
Really good class and professor. Will try to take him again.
Professor Levine is definitely not as bad as everyone makes him out to be. He made the class quite entertaining at times, and I learned a lot from his lectures, though there was a lot of content, especially for the midterm, but you are sure to do well if you put in the effort.
I really enjoyed this class with Dr. Levine. He challenged me to think in new ways about the world around me. Every work and reading he chose was intentional and he was a really well spoken and interesting lecturer. My only problem was that he asks leading questions that are posed as open ended but have a right answer. It is not discussion based.
IDST-116 (gender) is not a bad class, and I feel that I've learned a lot (I actually enjoy the lectures very much). However, the midterm and final (which cumulate to 45% of your final grade) test your ability to memorize hundreds of terms rather than requiring any real depth of knowledge, it's ridiculous.
Honestly, this course sucked and I'm sorry the professors are getting bad reviews but it was mostly from the TAs. There was NO clear grading criteria, pretty much graded however they wanted to grade. NO FEEDBACK, and the few feedback they gave, when you would correct it, they would take points off and contradict their last feedback.
Interesting material but lectures tended to be repetitive/oversimplified. Assignment descriptions were vague and the second paper is unnecessarily due on LDOC. All grading is outsourced to a TA who never attends class and whom you will never meet. Her grading is fair, but pretty harsh. The final was hard. Take the class if you're ok with an A-/B+.
This is such a good class. Professor Levine makes art interesting and so relevant. I recommend this triple I.
Don't listen to the bad reviews, they're all whiny freshmen who make the class seem a lot worse than it is. Levine's lectures are organized and thought-provoking, and he's hilariously cynical. The readings are long, and it's a decent amount of work (nine short papers), but it's not that difficult. Looking back, I'm really happy I took this class.
Such a good class and intro to college. Profs are smart and caring and Levine was the best of them. Interesting lectures, made art fun and relevant
The coursework was a nice balance to harder courses, however, there were two papers due at the end of the term that was extremely vague, and graded by an TA you will never meet. The midterm and finals were not bad only a having a time constraint that caused anxiety. He sometimes contradicts himself when giving feedback, so double check!
This was an amazing course all around. Part lecture part discussing. Prof Levine is really passionate and makes this challenging art come alive. Highly recommend
Professor Levine is overall a decent teacher, but he can come across condescending and insensitive at times. The class itself was interesting but there were a lot of readings and essays. Sometimes he would show triggering art images without any trigger or content warnings, the only warning being at the beginning of the semester.
Prof. Levine is a great teacher. Lectures were interesting and concise. The work load was pretty light, with the exception of two end-of-semester papers that were graded easily. If you participate and show interest, he's a really engaging professor. I'm taking his 588 class this semester!
Professor Levine has bad ratings for a reason. I found the content to be very interesting, but his approach was seriously upsetting sometimes, and honestly I frequently felt that he was very condescending and rude towards the students. If you have the misfortune of having a class with him, go to class because he lectures and doesn't post the slides
Professor Levine is an okay professor, but not for Gender Triple-I. This class has potential if organized and done well, but if you think this is an easy class, do not take it. There are about 9 papers that you do and the midterm and final are hard. He does care if you can't take an exam on a day and will find another day for you.
Prof Levine is really great. Lectures are interesting and he really cares about his students. Highly recommend.
Professor Levine is a good instructor, but he can be rude to his students and make them feel bad for asking questions. Other than that, he has a lot of knowledge of Art History and explains the concepts well.
While he does go over the material, it seems as though he is just spending so much time on a particular topic that he then does not end up asking about in the midterm. The lectures are long-winded and sometimes difficult to comprehend
Professor Levine is fantastic. I look forward to taking more classes with him.
Terrible lecturer he goes and just talks about paintings the entire class and most of them are irrelevant to the midterm or final. He picks one out of 15-20 you analyze over the semester on the midterm and makes you recount several things about the painting. Most pieces of art are also highly insensitive, and he rarely gives respect to them.
Some of the content is very interesting but I never felt comfortable asking questions because I found him to be pretty condescending and rude.
Dr. Levine is a polarizing professor. His sense of humor is dry and he may seem condescending, but I don't think that he is. The art history readings were fairly long and academic and there was a midterm question asking you to recall a specific piece's artist. Regardless, his lectures are interesting and he will explain the important takeaways.
Prof. Levine likes to ramble. A lot. His lectures are dry. The majority of the work we looked at was made by cis women from 1960s-1990s. The class mainly focuses on the gender experience of cis people and only briefly discussed non-cis people. Pretty disappointing for a class called "gender". The work he assigns isn't hard, but can be dense.
Cary is someone who loves to ramble with dry humor and even drier lectures. Many of the readings and art pieces he brought up were quite interesting, but the commentary that followed from him was less interesting. "Ok" is the best way to describe him.
Lectures are so dry so it was often hard to pay attention no matter how much I tried. Slides are unhelpful because they only show pictures of the art he talks about in class but doesn't offer a description of them. Tests were difficult to study for because it was heavy on memorization and it was hard to know what he wanted us to focus on.
Compared to the other Triple Is, this one is definitely hard. You have to memorize so much information for exams and especially for art history, a lot of it comes straight from the lecture itself. Classes are tedious and there's a good amount of work.
Dr. Levine's part of this course was by far one of the most boring classes I had. Not only did he go into excruciating detail in his lessons, the readings were difficult to fully understand. He was also very rude to students when they asked questions.
This prof. is going to say something like art is neither good or bad nor neutral. You'll learn nothing other than women is being objectified. Other parts of this class are way better. His portion only includes much memorization of art works that do not relate to gender.
Gender is the worst Triple I, do not take it
I found Levine's section to be the most interesting of the three because of his lectures. The professors have tweaked some of the subject matters from the past to make to more relevant to gender. The biggest struggle in this class was the reading check-ins but as long as you put in the effort, the class shouldn't be too bad.
Professor Levine is awesome. His lectures can be dense, and you look at a lot of art, but by paying attention in class, taking notes, and reviewing art for exams, you will be just fine. Very funny and cares about you as a student. Definitely a polarizing figure but he means well and is knowledgeable about art.
Gender is the worst Triple I. Of the three profs, Levine was the worst as well. Had no content in his slides except pictures and his readings and lectures were pointless. Nothing he said or made us read had any significance or relation to the midterm/final. Just avoid it/him in general
Honestly, this class is super weird, especially the art history section. He pretty much only showed us art work of naked women or of genitalia which was pretty weird and annoying. In general, if you like art history, then this part of the course might not bother you too much but otherwise its pretty boring and at times highly condescending feeling.
Gender was the worst class I've ever taken, especially because of the Art History section that Cary Levine taught. He would yap for a whole hour and the only thing I learned from his lectures was that women felt oppressed. The exam FORCES you to memorize artist names and dates for no logical reason in which you will forget about the next week.
Gender was an unnecessarily difficult Triple-I. The content was interesting enough, but Professor Levine's art history portion was the same concepts on repeat. Lots of memorization was necessary for exams and the in-class quizzes were also unnecessarily difficult. I would not take this class or one of Professor Levine's classes again.
Prof Levine is really great, and this class is too. I learned so much, and the art history part was fascinating. He is a great lecturer, fun and entertaining while also packed with important info. I would definitely take him again.
Don't listen to these whiny freshmen who don't have any interest in Art History and are too lazy to memorize 20 paintings for an exam. Most of them are too immature to handle looking at a nude painting in a gender class. In reality, Prof Levine is a great teacher who really made me appreciate art, looking forward to taking another class of his.
He said he was going to give us extra credit the day before Thanksgiving break, but then he said he was just kidding. The other 2 profs from this class were great though.
if you are taking a tripe I don't take gender. The exams are hard and the reading check-ins are almost impossible. much harder than any other Tripe I. For his exams you have to memorize many paintings and he is such a boring lecturer.
Really great. Highly recommend Prof Levine
Loved him and his part
This was a good as can be expected. The art covered by Professor Levine was so interesting, and his teaching style is casual but smart. Highly recommend this triple I or any other class he teaches
Professor Levine is one of the best at UNC. This class was an inspiration to me, covering so much complicated art and in a really fascinating way. He's a gifted teacher who is caring but also pushes you to think hard. One of the best classes I have taken
I really think he's a top professor. It's tough to fit all the material in to his portion, but he did so in a really interesting way. The art he covers is not easy, but it makes you think
I really enjoyed the class
Great class
The way he talks about women in art is creepy and objectifying, and he teaches this class like the concepts about gender are revolutionary when in fact they are common sense. Grading depends on your TA except for the midterm and final which honestly aren't too bad if you pay attention and briefly review material. Be prepared to memorize paintings
Professor Levine is really great. Lectures are super interesting. I never appreciated art before.
Not my favorite. He's rude to some students and his part of this class is kind of unstructured. I think sometimes he's trying to be funny but it just comes across as mean and insensitive. I absolutely hate this class though, so my review might be biased. Just don't take gender and all these problems will be avoided.
Levine is amazing. I live the class and hope to take more from him.
Very nice and understanding guy, and really wants students to be involved. Lecture based with readings due each week, but easy. Grades aren't posted until end of semester, but midterms and exams fairly easy if you go to class and pay attention. Easy to zone out during lectures but participation counts, so be wary. Enjoyed this class.
Some of these reviews are from students who just don't want to work. If you are on your phone while he is lecturing, he might tell you to put it away, but that's disrespect on the student's part too. If you don't like art history, this part of Gender will obviously not be great to you but if you pay attention and do the readings, it is not hard.
Prof. Levine gave me a newfound appreciation for art. Out of the 3 gender teachers, I find him the most entertaining and pretty knowledgeable. He tries to interact with students, but sometimes comes off as a bit passive aggressive. Overall, he picks interesting content and you can tell he's passionate about his lectures.
You have to memorize paintings… He's sarcastic and he makes me fall asleep out of boredom Don't take this idst if you don't like art history because it's a third of the test…. :(
Professor Levine is great. His lectures were interesting and he really cares about the material. People who complain clearly don't want to learn because he's a really good teacher and cares about students understanding.
had him for gender, and he was okay. my least fav prof. but he was still nice. gender seems widely hated but I highly recommend the class, I enjoyed it. his lectures are boring but you have to take notes on the art pieces because he only shows the paintings, which makes it hard to study for his portion of the class if you don't take good notes.
Kind of an oddball, and likes to belittle students. I wouldn't recommend. The content was decent, and he is a competent lecturer. I disagree with other reviews saying that he takes a creepy approach to art. There is occasionally a painting with a boob in it, oh well.
There is something with just how creepily he approaches his lectures and the sensitive content. I can't quite put my finger on it. I don't mind memorizing the paintings. His lectures are boring, and he is a little rude to students sometimes.
I took IDST 116, and out of all the teachers, he was the worst. He did not put any text on his slides, so when it came time to study, if you didn't take notes, it was impossible. He was rude to students and made fun of them. The class as a whole was horrible. They never gave study guides for any of the exams, and attendance was mandatory.
Artwork was very interesting.. need to take notes. Didn't love this class, and some triggering art work of self-harm.
professor wasn't that bad but do not take this class for your triple-i. i showed up to every class, did all the work, studied for tests, and barely got an a-. there are much better triple-is to take. also, art history portion of the class was the hardest to study for and lectures are so boring.
The art history part is the best of the three and prof Levine is an amazing lecturer. I never thought I'd love the art history.
Wow this class is life changing.
Professor Levine is so dedicated to the students and the material. This class will change your perspective on so much. Take this class if you can!!
He is a truly gifted teacher. This class inspired me to love art.
The art history sections were really good. The class is a little chaotic because of the 3 disciplines but Levine was the best part. I hole to take another class with him.
This was the best class I took at unc. Prof Levine is a gem, take his class if you can
At first I wasn't sure about his topic but Professor Levine made it so interesting. He cares about his students and wants them to really learn.
Such a good class. It's basically lectures but with lots of discussion. He makes the art really seem relevant and we discussed so many interesting issues in this class. Highly recommend.
It took a little time to get used to the class and the art history but Levine was really good and by the end I have a new appreciation for art and how it relates to gender.
Do whatever you can to take a class with him. Lectures are great and he really cares about students.
Take this class if you can!!!
Anyone who takes Prof Levine knows that he is passionate and a great teacher. He's funny and smart and this class will inspire you to love contemporary art
I LOVED this class. It took a little time to get used to the topic but then it all came together. Levine is an inspirational teacher.
I wasn't sure I was gong to like the art history but I really did. His lectures are interesting and I gained an appreciation for art.
Prof Levine is a great teacher and this class is everything you'd want it to be. I learned so much, not just about art but about the world and life. Each day he challenges students to think differently.
I highly recommend taking a class with him while at unc. One of my favorite professors and I wish I took more classes with him.
Amazing professor. Professor Levine made our class so engaging for everyone. Highly recommend, even for non-art history majors. I loved this class so much!
This is class is so great, one of the best. Professor Levine makes it interesting for everyone. I wish I could take it again :)
Professor Levine was the best of the three professors in this class. The class was overall really interesting, but his lectures were so fascinating. I never imagined I would be this interested in art!
Take a different Triple-I. Levine is an ok lecturer but had no structure. Impossible to study for and would not help push you in any right direction of what you should focus on for exams. Make sure to study the art he has you do in-class assignments on. Disrespectful to students and would make fun of them (he had to send out an apology).
Great teacher! I hope to take another class with him
I never thought I'd like art history, but I was proven wrong! Professor Levine gave insightful lectures and his humor was always appreciated. He was accessible outside of class, and was incredibly encouraging. In preparation for the exams, take detailed notes during his lectures and find a Quizlet on the art. I hope to take a class with him again!
No one could take this guy seriously all semester. If you aren't VERY feminist the art part of this class is gonna make you uncomfortable. He'll spend a half hour of a lecture deconstructing a nude painting and it feels like he's beating a dead horse by the end, analyzing each body part. Need to know titles, dates, and names for exams; very tedious
Levine gives amazing lectures. Highly recommend. I learned so much from his parts of the course
This class was incredible. Truly life changing. Prof Levine cares that each student is engaged and learning and the class changed my views on so much.
Just a great class all around. One of my best at unc.
This was one of the best classes I've ever taken. Professor Levine teaches but it's really a conversation. Each class is interesting. I wish I could take more from him.
He made art history surprisingly less boring in a terrible class, but it was still bad. I had to memorize 15+ paintings, authors, and titles for tests, plus all the information said in the lectures. This class is overall bad, so it's not fully his fault. His lectures were all over the place and felt repetitive, like the rest of this class.
Professor Levine was funny and engaging. His section of the Gender Triple I was really interesting and I enjoyed his lectures. If you complete the readings before class and take decent notes you will be totally fine! The reading checks were super easy and the project and exams were straightforward. Highly suggest taking.
Such an amazing professor and class! I will definitely be taking another with Professor Levine. I cannot recommend him more.
Great great great. I LOVED this class. Professor Levine is fair, and his class is so interesting and inspiring. Will change your idea of what art is and can be!
I honestly had no idea that this class would be a good as it was. He is such a good teacher, and I learned so much. I was skeptical about contemporary art but now LOVE it
I loved his part of the class and am already enrolled in another class with him. Highly recommend
Hi lectures are very conversational, and he's super approachable and really wants students to learn. This class changed how I think about art and the world.
TAKE THIS CLASS. It will change your life!
wow, such an incredible class and professor. Consider yourself lucky if you can take a class with Professor Levine!
This is really a great class. It gives you an overview of many art history topics, and professor Levine helps tie them together. The whole thing is interesting, and I hope to take a class with Professor Levine in the future.
This is great class that is pretty easy but also introduces you to a lot of different topics in art history. Professor Levine keeps it interesting and it's a pretty easy grade and gen ed
Really good laid back class covering different kinds of art and history. Highly recommend.
Mostly guest speakers, but Dr. Levine's bits were incredible. Great humor, in touch, helps expand upon our ideas, and asks questions/confirms to understand us as well as possible. Choosing Christina as our TA was superb; their personalities complement each other well. The assignments are fun to write, and he appreciates us!
this guy literally belittles his students and clearly has a big ego. the class itself was very poorly run, but his section was horrible because the slides itself included no notes, just images of the paintings. if you didn't attend class or get the notes from someone else on the paintings, you were screwed. easy A tho.
As someone who has taken other art classes that focus on gender/female anatomy with no issue, I feel like Prof Levine really put an uncomfortable emphasis on certain topics. He was also condescending / seemed annoyed with certain questions. The only good thing about him beating strange topics into the ground is that it sticks with you for exams.
This is a fun, pretty easy class with lots of guest lectures. Levine ties it all together nicely and is super nice and easygoing and helpful. I highly recommend
I really enjoyed the class. Professor Levine was excellent and Christina the TA was too.
Loved it and look forward to taking more classes with Levine
Such a good class. Professor Levine challenges students to really think. Lectures are loose with time for discussion. He really cares about the students and their learning.
The class is unusual because it's mostly guest lectures, but I really enjoyed Professor Levine's sessions and am planning to take his class next semester. ARTH 150 is a pretty easy class that's interesting
Amazing class, amazing professor. Try to take a class with him
Professor Levine is amazing! His lectures are super fun, and he makes art history feel relevant. I actually looked forward to class every week!
Dr Levine's passion for contemporary art is contagious, and he really makes you think about the artists and their worlds.
I really got a lot from this class. Professor Levine connects contemporary art to today's issues, and his classes are always interesting. Loved the discussions
This is a wonderful class. The guest lectures touch on various art movements, and Levine connects each topic back to historical events, making it all resonate.
The class is pretty easy, and the guest lectures on various periods keep things fresh and engaging.
The course is straightforward, and with interesting guest lectures on all kinds of art, it's a fantastic way to learn without feeling overwhelmed
Interesting easy class with guest lectures. Professor Levine is really good at connecting the lectures to big themes and ideas
