Dr. Seney is a very cool person and a great teacher. The material isn't easy at all, but she is very helpful and very clear in class, and also makes it fun. She also is a great mentor outside the class room. I greatly recommend her for chemistry.

I had to retake this course during the summer. Not the best time to attempt chemistry! Dr. Seney made it a wonderful experience however. She truly cares about her students and busted her butt to help us in any way possible. Highly recommended!

Dr. Seney is great! She's very personable and always has fun in class. Sometimes she's a bit quiet w/ overwhelming classes, but always gets the job done. Hard grader on dailies, but wonderful in class!

She is very straight forward when it comes to the material she wants you to know for an exam. Be prepared for each class (quizzes), do the problems, and study for the exams because they are not easy. You will learn a lot.

She was my first CHM111 professor, and I HAD to withdraw. She's very nice and very pretty, and she is more than willing to help a student fix their problems. She isn't very clear on subject material though. I had a hard time understanding EVERYTHING she said. If you want an easy grade, do not take, but if you are willing to work hard, go for it

Dr. Seney is challenging but not impossible. She really wants her students to learn the material and she is way better than the other Gen. Chem. teachers. She just loves Chemistry. Tests are moderately difficult but if you know how to do the homework and attend class then you should do fine.

She is soooo sweet, and she definitely gets you excited about chemistry at nine in the morning. She was kind enough to invite the whole class to her house for a home cooked meal and a study session. She's very clear about everything she teaches and tells you exactly what she expects you to know

She is by no means easy-you have to study a LOT, she gives pop quizzes (which aren't hard if you're keeping up), and she moves pretty quickly, but she is always ready and VERY eager to help. I highly recommend her to anyone who can keep up.

But if you do the suggested problems and ask questions about the ones you dont understand, you should be ok. Keep up so you'll be prepared for pop quizzes. Study HARD for tests. Good class though!

While attendance isn't mandatory, you have to go to class to learn, otherwise you will fail. Tests and pop quizzes require you to actually study every night. Tests are hard but fair.

Dr. Seney is the hardest general chemistry teacher at Mercer; however, her extreme organization and clarity of her teaching as well as her willingness to help make this class worth taking. She's completely covers the material in a way in which it very easy to grasp (so I muct disagree with the prior comment; Pounds is the hardest), and everything comes from the notes and practice worksheets she gives out in class. Dr. Seney is an incredible teacher! She is by far, my favorite professor at Mercer. However, you NEED to study every night because she gives a weekly pop quiz. Her tests are difficult, but passable. You need to write down good notes and do a lot of calculation problems. BEST PROFESSOR EVER!

If you really want to know everything about chemistry she is the one to take. She goes through things very fast but she is willing to slow down if you just ask. Dr. Seney is my favorite chemistry professor so far! She is extremely thorough in her notes and explanations of subject material. If you go to SI and the majority of her lectures you will make at least a B. Be warned, her class isn't easy and requires a lot of extra work. At the end of the day, it's worth it because the material stuck!

She teaches with great clarity, and in such a way that I understood exactly what she was talking about before I walked out of class each day. I have never had a class where I didn't need an SI or tutor to fully grasp the material. However, for this class, I did not have to attend SI even ONCE.

She is amazing! I truly recommend. I hate chemistry, but had her for gen chem and she can really motivate you. She would give amazing motivational speeches like every class comparing the class to basketball or whatever other sport. It was pretty inspiring, I'd take gen chem again if I had her! She has students get involved in her lesson to help you remember concepts better. If you've done Chemistry before, it's not too difficult. The textbook was mainly used for practice questions.

Great person who genuinely cares about the success of all of her students. She routinely asks in class if anyone is struggling and ensures they get help along with giving motivational speeches to urge people to not give up no matter what grade they have.

Dr. Seney is amazing! Tests are fair with good feedback and a lot of free-response (partial credit!) if the class doesn't get a concept she notices right away, explains differently, and doesn't rush. She will periodically give little motivational speeches, and she will tell you to practice, which you must. Do the Burdge problems, they really help!

She gives very clear lectures, and is always willing to help her students succeed. She is also very motivational, and even refers to the tests as "celebrations". While there are pop quizzes, they don't count much and only a few are actually counted. Also, she gives out plenty of suggested problems that similar to test questions. Also fair grader!

The best chemistry professor for those that have never had chemistry or are really weak in it. She really cares about her students outside of class and is very encouraging. Gives partial credit on exams as long as you show your work. If you are struggling go to her office hours, she will work with you as often as you need.

She understands how rough college can be for students and constantly encourages them to keep going. She is very clear on what she requires in lab reports. You never have to read a textbook. If you understand the concepts, you should do well.

She posts detailed guides to complete lab reports on her youtube channel, effectively making them free 100s. The tests were not too hard and had cute extra credit questions like "what is your dream travel destination".

This amazing human being is who helped me push myself through chem 1 and chem 2. Literally the best professor I've had so far in college she is a blessing, her class was hard but that's because chem 2 is hard. She does as much as she can to make it okay, you need to have her for chemistry.

Dr. Seney is the best professor I've had so far. She truly cares about the success of her students, and will make sure that everyone feels confident about the material. She will even come outside of any class/office hour and do a practice exam review session so that anyone who doesn't feel confident can do even more practice questions with her.
