Casey does well on his teaching, he has his funny moments too. The book is mandatory,but there are times when I hardly read the chapters. If you pay attention in class then it's easy. He gives 3 quizes (10 points ea.), a research paper (simple), and final. He also wants you to participate in class, meaning you WILL be talking infront of the class

Great Teacher ! some of the assigments that you have to do are entertaining to do. Questions he ask can be a bit challanging , but it can be found on the book. Book is a must thing to have in order to succeed in the class. I enjoy his class.

Hes a really fun professor. His assignments were entertaining. And i really looked forward to coming to class. this is a pretty easy class, however if you are uncomfortable speaking infront of a class, and even more so acting infront of class, dont take this class cause you will possibly fail!

Best class/teacher! I just took the 8-wk class. Very easy, he gives 3 video reviews, 2 quizzes, 1 powerpoint project, and a final exam. Everything is short answer, no multiple choice, but he gives you like 4-5 days to do the quizzes and exam. He grades very easy on the quizzes. You just have to make sure to keep up with your readings.

Just finished the 8week course and class was pretty easy! The questions were clear and not hard to answer. Just make sure you read the book! The video review were pretty easy as well but also interesting. I never thought I would like humanities however; after taking this class it wasnt so bad!! Great teacher and he post grades in a timely manner!

Amazing professor, I usually don't rate professors but I must rate him. His class was so interesting I learned a lot. It took a lot or reading but most importantly understanding the concept of each chapter and each story. He gave 3 quizes, one major project which I enjoyed very much and a final. Highly recommend. Great teacher overall.

Casey is the BOMB! I love love loved his class so very organized no surprises he is just AWESOME!!! No hard work its an easy A just turn in everything he asks! I got a B and I wasn't able to turn one assignment in due to technical difficulties but still an easy class!

Wonderful teacher, he made everything easy and his ready to work with students. He pay attention to his students and repeat things he think they didn't understand. Accent is not a problem because he will take his time and make sure he understand you.

Attendance is mandatory. If you don't miss any of his class, he will give you 2% on the whole class percentage. Homework every week but easy, just need to read the chapter. There is only one powerpoint to do, the topic is up to you and it due till the end of the semester.

Great professor, but work is hard, but overall the experience is worth it. He assigns wkly hmwk. Do not procrastinate or do things last minute. He likes work to be thorough and to know that you are learning. Both hmwks and exams were essay questions. He assigned one major project, which was a powerpoint and gave a whole two months to do it.

I took this as an online mini-mester so it was pretty fast paced.If you read & watch the assigned videos,there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to make an A in this class. There was only 1 project due,which was a powerpoint. Material was interesting. My entire family enjoyed watching the videos with me. Great teacher/class.

I highly recommend taking his course. Not only is it interesting but he provides supplemental videos for further understanding which was extremely helpful for a visual learner like myself.

Great for an online class! The only reason why I would give him 4/5 easiness is the literary structure that some of the assignments are graded to, but I don't think he was unfair. Its pretty obvious when a piece of text is rushed by a student! Assignments due always at 5PM of date.(Watch the clock.) I enjoyed the class and wish I could meet him!

I took this class online in the summer. Pretty easy over-all. We did have to do some reading and watch quite a few videos, which you will then write about. Information was interesting so it wasn't to bad. I would take him again.

Casey is a great teacher. He gives weekly challenges so its easy to get bonuses if you read, you have to read. Weekly homework, one major power-point which he gives you 2 months to do. He keeps the class interesting and fun. would take him again. easy class, just don't take it for lightly or you will fail. you have to do the work.

Is a good professor, but he expects a lot from students. He wants to know you understand the material, and makes testhomework with open ended questions that you have to answer in essay form.. usually a few paragraphs.. one major powerpoint project. 2 major tests midterm and final.. study study study.. make sure to do homework it helps..

He's a really good professor but you have to work for your grade. You cant slack off and you have to be very focused. He doesn't take any late grades. but i would recommend people to take him

Great professor, there are only two exams, one midterm and one final. If you pay attention in class and interact in the discussion the exams are pretty easy. He is really helpful if you need extra help. You definitely need your book! Do your homework it is essential to being able to participate in class. All in all loved this class!

Professor Casey is really cool. All you have to do is the home work, pay attention, the syllabus is your guide. I would take him again if he was available and there was just a midterm and the final. Has challenges to give you a boost on the exam. If you don't pass his class then you didn't do the work.

Professor Garcia is a little rude and not very understanding about missing a class. He told us "there's no such thing as an excused absence". Make sure you read your text book because he has "challenges" to make sure you're reading and his test are essay style. If you don't read the book, you won't pass the test. There is weekly homework also.

I enjoyed this professor a lot. Expect weekly video review homework, midterm, final, and slideshow project. He assigns extra credit too. There is a lot of reading and watching the videos he assigns, but worth it. If you participate, you will get a good grade.

Following the instructions in the syllabus are key. Beware of changes to specific papers turned-in on the syllabus turn-in dates. (changes which papers are due when) 8 plus sentences for each paragraph, and explaining thoughts and what you read is a guaranteed A. Plus spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

MR. Garcia is awesome, just do all you work and you should be fine, only two test midterm and final. You will do a lot of reading and watch videos on YouTube, as long as you do all your work it should be an Easy A. You do go by what is on syllabus so if you do your work you will pass easily.

I must say I really enjoyed and learned a lot in this class. It requires tons of reading. He assigns 6 video assignments sometimes 2 in 1 and you have to write about it 8 sentences per 2 paragraphs, videos are typically 45-55 mins long. A midterm and final was handed out 5 questions 2 paragraph answers. Easy A! Just DO THE WORK & PASS!

Had so much fun in his class! Most of lectures are videos that relate to the chapters which helped a lot to understand the architecture and paintings. He does have group participation and does a fun game over the chapters SO READ! His test are straightfwd- answered in essay form AS LONGEST YOU READ & Study you will do well. Awesome Teacher!

I took Humanities online and was really into it. I enjoyed reading about past civilizations and philosophy, arts, and culture of each one of them. You watch videos and do a response paper for each one. One short research project and final exam paper finishes the class. I recommend taking this teacher you will learn a lot!

I took his 8 week online class and it was fairly easy. Follow syllabus everything is stated clearly. You are to watch youtube videos, read assigned chapters, and write essays. There was a total of 13 essays and 3 of them were for the final. Each paragraph must have a minimum of 8 sentences. There is also a research project due with a powerpoint.

Mr. Casey is very informative with his feedback; which is very helpful for future endeavors.

I took Professor Garcia class for 8 weeks in the spring semester. If you read the syllabus thoroughly and follow all instructions you'll do good in the class. I recommend anyone to take his class!

Take him! This was probably the easiest class I've ever taken! Show up, TAKE NOTES, do your homework, and TAKE NOTES. I typed "take notes" twice because they come in handy in the long run. No, he doesn't give extra credit, but you won't need it if you just do what you have to do. Good luck!

Weekly one page papers analyzing films (for about half the semester) and weekly discussions on the textbook chapters or film theory articles. He always has plenty of feedback written on the papers when he returns them. 100% attendance results in extra points, and points are taken away after 2 absences.

It was an absolute pleasure to take Professor Garcia's Public Speaking class. Attendance, participation, and quizzes are all taken seriously in his class, and with good reason. This class was NOT boring. Professor Garcia gives very clear instructions and is very approachable and humorous. I really enjoyed his teaching style.

Mr. Garcia was a great professor. I took the winter mini-mester and was very pleased with how direct the syllabus and course were. As long as you do the work you will pass. Heavy reading, light essay writing, a few videos to watch. The information you learn is pretty enjoyable as well so that helps. I would def take him again!

A lot of information but he makes it interesting. The hardest part of the class is making a 15-20 slide power point over anything that is covered inside the book. Tons of options and is very clear on his grading criteria.

I wish every professor was like Casey. He's very firm in attendance, gives great feedback in terms of grades, and makes the class enjoyable. Homework or quizzes every week, but nothing difficult as long as you put in some effort and read/watch the videos. Although I was required to take this class, the way he taught made me enjoy it.

Complete the exams by the deadline, watch the provided material and power points. Teacher is clear about what is expected. Not too many assignments and gives more than enough time to complete. I took 6 week course. Book was required but I didn't use it.

I took his 3 week mini semester class, the 3 weeks went by pretty fast so make sure you space out the chapters assign within a reasonable time frame. There was 6exams and 1 essay, if you read the chapters and watch the videos its an easy A. Youll need a lab top for the exams which require a software download.

Not many assignments given. Just watch documentary films and do exams about it. One paper about 1 of the films, need to write it good unless you did good grade in exams then don't worry about this, just fill the required pages. He gives plenty time to do the exams, but short time for "rating yourself" assignments. Overall, this is an Easy A class.

Great professor! Although you have to work extra hard on quizzes and one research project because they are very important. He also add 2 points towards the final grade if you don't miss any single class. But overall, he's awesome!

Took this class as a 3 week class and overall it's an easy A. There are 6 exams but he drops your lowest one. The exams consist of questions of documentaries you watch and of the chapter. 1 paper based on a documentary that you have to do. I would highly recommend you take his class. It was pretty easy. Not a whole lot of work.

He is so open minded and attentive. He is a respected professor and he is very intelligent. Class participation is crucial and there is much work outside of class but it is not too heavy.

Everything you thought you knew about speech throw it away. The class isn't hard in itself its just alot of work to do, on top of that Casey is a hard grader.

I took an 8-week course with Mr. Garcia and he was a great Prof. It's pretty much average expectations just read the chapters he gives and you will pass. We had a documentary to watch every week for every test as the course was shorter along with 6 discussion posts. I loved how organized he was as he opened all assignments on the first day!!

Professor Garcia is a good professor that is very easy to communicate with and gives responses in a timely manner. A lot of material is covered in 3 weeks, so be prepared to put in the work. A little warning: THIS IS NOT AN EASY CLASS! If you want an A, put in the effort. Take detailed noted while watching documentaries and you'll do fine.

This professor gives a clear schedule of assignments due and your allowed to work ahead. The quizzes are on the textbook and videos he provides but most of the answers you can find online. There are class discussions that are easy. It was a easy A!

His syllabus tells you it all, it is very organized. In all seriousness, this course was actually easy. Read the chapters assigned, read the chapter PowerPoints, and watch the videos. I point this out because this is very vital and you need to pay close attention. All of his other assignments are really easy including the project.

Don't be fool with his rate ,this was the hardest and toughest course take my advice never ever take him u will barely pass I am a good student but he demotivate me in his approach.

I took his online course which was a huge mistake. He only grades you off three things each week; a discussion, a video quiz, and a textbook quiz. He honestly makes this class harder than it has to be. I'm sure I wasn't the only one struggling.

Very passionate about humanities but not about actually teaching his students and making sure they pass. Leaves you out to dry and only cares if your submitting assignments in on time. He'll only give 1 day extra to make up anything. Goodluck if your taking him.

I liked his class, but when it came to talk about philosophers and I brought up how they influenced harmful colonization, he got upset and graded my final project low! You also have to watch a lot of 30 minute or longer videos for the discussions and tests, so if you arent down for that dont take this course!

He doesn't like it if his students are against what he believes he is teaching the class. If you state your opinion regarding the material he doesn't appreciate it and gives low grades to them. Be prepared to watch 30 min or more videos on YouTube that he thinks is informative/ 25 quizzes. The material is so old I'm pretty sure it's out dated.

Too much work for an elective class. Picky at grading. Today is the day after grades are due for the end of semester and he hasnt put the final grade in. Also the due dates are all over the place just randomly.

Alright guys i see a lot of mixed reviews but you can take my side with how you want. His class is fairly simple and easy to understand. Do the discussion board, which then allows you access to the textbook and video quizzes. Yes there is gonna be some work involved but that's part of it when is a quick 8-week class. I took him for a mini course. This was not my first and wont be my last mini. But I had an A ALL through out the course until the final group project. he failed my group project with was worth a chunk of our overall grade. He did give us a rubric & I thought I hit everything but I guess it was not great. My grade went from A to a B. 89.0 so close.

I have had the pleasure of not only having Professor Garcia as a professor but he has been an amazing mentor. Professor Garcia is extremely passionate about speech and helping students become more confident in their public speaking abilities, which has helped me tremendously in my career. Professor Garcia has also acted as a mentor for me.

Mr. Casey Garcia was a good teacher. When he gives you feedback, he will tell you what he likes about your submission, and what needs more work. The setup of his class is easy to navigate through.

The requirements for the discussion posts were ridiculous and the final was a PowerPoint but the concept was difficult. Don't take this as a mini-mester if you already have a time-consuming class. He only gives you 18 or 30 minutes for each quiz. Also, he doesn't email back immediately.

I took the 8 week course and he crammed 16 weeks worth of work into the course and I hated it at first. I will say that I retained so much from the class and due to the heavy load, so there is that too.

Prof. Garcia frustrated me as he did not give clear instructions but would give sarcastic work reviews when you do not follow his unwritten rules. Seemed like no matter what I did to correct the next speech I did there was no improvement in his eyes. No learning done, only how to survive his mood swings.

Interesting summer course! The good thing about it is that it drops the 2 lowest grades of the Quizzes. The course includes a semester project (it was fun!) and discusssions. Ms. Garcia provided students with assignment checklists, calendar with due dates, chapter powerpoints, and study questions that have been very helpful.

Professor Garcia was absolutely great throughout the entire class. He gave great feedback and responded fast when you needed assistance. This course was very easy, but Professor Garcia lacked the communication skills needed for a speech course. He was sarcastic when asked for clarification on certain assignments but overall the semester went well.

Prof. Garcia's course is structured weekly, and due dates shift depending on the assignment. Assignments in his class require his grading/feedback before you can proceed further. His course has extra credit which can improve your grade! Personally, having him as a Prof. was taxing because he graded slowly and lacked communication with students.
