Prof. Halliley is a gem! Her class is very insightful and does makes class activities fun. No homework except for a few readings & extra studying, exams are online but taken in class. I think this is an essential class everyone should take, it will help you so much in the real world. She is ALWAYS willing to help you. I LOVED her and this class!
One of the best professors I've ever had. She does everything she can to make her lectures interesting and engaging. Do not miss a class because a good amount of material is covered. I'd take her class again in a heartbeat. Can't recommend her enough!
Professor Halliley was one of the best professors- Her lecture notes are organized and she explains concepts simply yet effectively (doesn't just read off the board). No textbook was needed because the videos, PDFs, and lecture notes are more than enough. She wants you to get a good grade as well as actually learn valuable information.
BEST professor ever. a real role model. take her class and you ll not regret it!
THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER!! She explains finance so well that even a person like me can understand. The class is quick paced as there's only 7 weeks but she takes her time to make sure her students understand. Definitely take her, you won't regret it!! She also gives some opportunities to earn extra credit.
You literally can't fail this class. Professor Halliley makes everything make sense and makes the class interesting. SERIOUSLY if you fail it's because you didn't try. It doesn't getting better than Professor Halliley.
Professor Halliley is one of the few professors at Baruch that genuinely loves and cares for her students. Amazing lectures with material worth our time. I actually looked forward to going! And that say a lot!
Best FIN-2000 professor. Even though the class was on Fridays, I was still worth the commute and time spent. She makes sure you understand the material as she is passionate about personal finance.
blessing
The class structure was clear and covered everything discussed even with limited classes. The professor was a great lecturer and stressed the importance of understanding our finances and the potential everyone has to better their financial future.
One of the best professors at Baruch. TAKE HER! She is so understanding and inspirational. Definitely a role model. Even if you are not a finance major, she teaches you important topics that will be useful for you in the future. I wish she taught more finance classes. The only class I was never bored of.
Professor Halliley is great! Her lectures are engaging and she tries her best to make sure her students succeed.
The best teacher you could possibly take at Baruch. She was the only class i felt like attending. Her class doesn't put you to sleep like how other professors do. definitely take her if you can you wont regret it.
Professor H is super great and she really cares about her students and clearly enjoys teaching Finance. Makes her lectures really fun and engaging. She wants you to grasp all concepts. I would definitely take a class with her in the future, if possible. Take her, she's amazing!
Three hours none of which I feel that it is a boring class. All of the things she says is very helpful. The test are all the topic she talked about in class. Questions and some concepts are hard to understand at first but its gets easier as you progress. Ask questions when you really don't understand. Mostly importantly SHE CARES!!
Professor Halliley is one of the best professors on campus. She is very caring and understanding! Her lectures are the best, she goes over lectures giving enough time to write down information, but if you prefer listening and that is how you understand better she posts notes all the concepts are explained. A GEM! Beyong grateful to take her class.
Nice professor! She is not only knowledgeable and approachable, but she also cares about her students. I 100% recommend you choose her!
Great Professor! She has a passion for teaching and is an expert in her field. Has a strong background to prove it.
She really does care about her students. I have never had a more respectful and engaging professor. She literally is the GOAT!!! This is the only class where I learned so many useful and valuable things for life. Take her!!! BUT PLEASE PAY ATTENTION! IT'S AN EASY CLASS IF YOU PAY ATTENTION!!
Professor Halliley was one of the first professors I had at Baruch, undoubtedly one of the best, she made the class very engaging. We went over many topics in so little time, but she helped the class move at one pace. Nobody's questions were left unanswered, and I would highly recommend her to anybody signing up for a FIN 2000 class. 5/5!
Amazing professor, would take this class again if I could. Wonderful use of analogies and breakdown of complex topics. This professor is funny, inspirational, and you can tell how much she genuinely cares for her students.
Honestly, one of my favorite professors so far in Baruch. Definitely passionate about what she teaches, you will not regret taking her class. Some of her classes end with a quiz, and since its half semester, they really count, so its recommended to be there. 3 hours went by quick when she taught, cant say that for any other 3 hour lecture I took.
Prof Halliley is one of the best at Baruch, she cares about her students and you can tell she genuinely loves teaching. She gave two extra credit assignments which can increase your grade by a letter. The lecture was three hours but she made it entertaining and tries her best to make it under an hour and a half.
I enjoyed her and class and at the same time learned a lot. Her explanation is so clear and she made 3 hours class really fun.
Best prof ever, she really is so kind and helpful class was enjoyable and fun. We even meditated close to finals week which i actually really needed.
Easily one of the best professors I've ever met at Baruch. She is a sweetheart and extremely wise. I wish she taught fin3000 because I would definitely take her again. Clear grading criteria and very understanding if you ever miss a deadline. Take her you won't regret it.
Such a fun and educationally rewarding 3 hour class, this was a dream course. She only gave readings, homework, and a quiz about what she talked about - nothing more or nothing less. All of the assigned work was beneficial and not a waste of time. She explained complex concepts with easy and always made sure we understood before moving on! Loved it
Fun activities & her course is what you call "Top Quality". She's the reason why all Finance majors exist at Baruch. She has lots of expertise: enthusiasm & excitement are peak when teaching it! I can vouch that you'll learn/take away smth important, even if you don't like studying; just listen to her TALK. Waited 2 semesters to take her, worth it!
Great professor! She is so knowledgable and kind - knows so much about finance and has so much passion in that field. Very clear expectations on what we needed to know for the quizzes and exams and lays everything out in weekly emails. She also gave extra credit opportunities. If you don't take her you are missing out!
I regret not taking the online section.
prof was passionate and made a 3-hour lecture more bearable. clear grading and prepares you for her quizzes and exams. take her class!
Professor Halliley is great at making a 3 hour class not boring. Half semester class, so make sure you do well on the small amount of quizzes & assignments so your grade won't go down. Put in enough effort & this class should be relatively easy. She's very kind & has sent emails about opportunities for current & former students. Great professor!
One of my favorite professors at Baruch. Attend class and ask questions if you don't understand. You should finish quizzes and homework on time to get a decent A. The quizzes were not hard but tricky, requiring careful consideration before submitting answers.
Professor Casey manages to make this class fun and engaging and she truly wants you to learn financial literacy because she isn't there to collect a paycheck only. She is smart, and hardworking and has worked in Wall Street for many years so she shared so many stories and examples of her work with us. She is so inspirational to so many.
Professor Halliley is one of those few professors you will never forget! I wish more instructors were like her. Her passion is contagious. She structures her lectures, so that they are engaging as they can be. They were easy to understand, and what I loved most is that she teaches you how to apply the lessons in real life.
Shes a teacher i admire. She treated all her students fairly and she always used 200% of her energy when in class. She was amazing and gave great advise for when i need. She made sure everyone understood she deserves a 10/5
Professor Halliley is a very passionate lecturer who cares about her students. This course has given very good advice that I can use for the rest of my life. Definitely recommend the class .
Please do not ruin your 7 weeks by taking this as an only Friday class. FIN 3000 itself will be difficult, so make sure to take the online section and not this one. Ruined my GPA by taking her even though I studied before class and was good in Excel!!
I was lucky enough to register for Prof. Halliley's class, not realizing that I would be signing up for the most important course of my life. The major difference is that she is teaching not because she needs to but because she wants to. She is giving back to the young people of New York and making a lasting difference in the lives of thousands.
This professor is very knowledgeable and passionate about her lectures. the lectures are long but she aims to let you go early and take breaks. happily takes any questions, does office hours, and answers emails. you will learn a lot in this class because it is also a life skills class.
Honestly if there were a Fin 3000 I would totally take her. Her lectures are pretty manageable, she's so knowledge with finance literacy, she speaks about her own journey and she's truly inspirational. She warm hearted and has given up her time to help others. All of her lectures are engaging and as long as you pay attention in class you'll be fine
She has a really interesting background in finance, and you can tell she actually enjoys teaching it.
Great professor!
LOVE HER, highly recommend taking her. she's very well known in the topic of finance, makes the class really easy, couple quizzes but lets you take it whenever, she encourages students to ask her questions relating to finance and she tries her best to answer them, honestly a very interesting class and would take her again and again
Amazing professor and great class
The best professor out there! Talks about her own successes and motivates students to shoot for the stars. I enjoyed learning about financial investing along with life lessons that can benefit all of us for the future. The structure of the class is very simple to follow, very respectful, and well spoken. 10/10
The sweetest professor you'll ever have
She's a great professor for this class. Makes it very easy for the student
Professor Halliley is very nice and inspirational. She knows what she's teaching and easy to understand. It really is one of the important courses you need in life. Take her if you can
Very good lectures and she's also a very caring professor!
A very engaging professor who not only knows her stuff (she walk the walk), but also CAN teach
Great Professor, highly recommend taking her class.
Amazing professor!
Professor Halliley is passionate about her lecture, if you come to class every time and pay attention during class, you will get a good grade.
Great professor and a relax class
The lectures were concise and interesting, and the work was easy to follow and understand.
Great professor, you can really tell that she cares about her students and that she really wants them to learn this information for the real world was well! i would recommend
Interesting lectures. Topics aren't too hard. Online quizzes. In person final
she tries her best to make engaging since the course i took is 3 hours long. she also has great stories that tie to her lectures! also very easy work!
Clear lectures, thorough lessons, amazing person! Attendance is mandatory but you'll want to come every day (only half a semester). Lectures are fun and interactive and she is very easy to contact and responsive outside of class.
Its an easy class, she clearly lays out what you will be graded on and as long as you pay attention or go over the slides you will be fine.
Absolutely one of the best professors I have had so far. It really doesn't get more simple and straightforward than that. She is so kind and such a nice person and always is so accommodating to peoples life. Quizzes and exams are also very straight forward and let's you know what will be on there. Couldn't recommend her enough.
Great professor, explained concepts super clearly. Available outside of class and hilarious. Highly recommend.
She's really nice. I'm a transfer so I'm already familiar with the topics of this course but I had to retake it and she introduces the topics very clearly. Her assignments are straight forward. You should take her.
Great class for learning the fundamentals of finance, especially for young students because what you learn is applicable to real life. Lectures are engaging and fun to listen to.
Prof Halliley is an amazing professor. I would take her class again I can. She's very knowledgeable in her expertise and has a very welcoming environment for students to engage in class and ask questions.
She was awesome
Professor Hailey was great for finance lectures were very clear and she cares about her students. Makes these long 3 hour classes easy and everything is made clear with her.
Passionate about teaching. This is one of the few classes that you can learn and apply in the real world.
Wonderful professor who cares and is extremely informative in her lectures. Very clear on her criteria and upcoming dates!
Super passionate about what she does, good teacher, easy to understand.
Honestly a fun class to be in. Lectures aren't boring and straight to the point. There are opportunities for extra credit, like friendly competitions for who understands the material better with fellow peers. For a half credit class, she really makes it feel like a half credit and not like another class you have to study for hours in.
Professor Halliely really cares about teaching finance to her students. Not only for the curriculum but also for future and prepare for reality. Informative course with amazing professor!
Professor Halliley is a great professor. Engaging and interactive. Made the 3 hour class go by quickly. Not many assignments.
The coursework is not alot and is very straightforward. Easy to understand lectures. Would take again.
She's honestly really great and recommend her class, shes so passionate about her teaches and treats everyone so kindly. The three hours lectures aren't boring and goes by really fast. Love!
Professor Hailliley has had a amazing course at Baruch, for a half semester course the assignments are relatively simple and directly connect with the lecture on that day which makes it easy for students to review their materials and gather their thoughts for a easy assignment. Her lectures are very well drawn out and she loves answering questions
everything you need to know on the final is taught in class, just show up and pay attention. Her teaching style is great, highly recommend.
She always makes sure you understand the topic and answers questions. Her slides are very clean and she definitely knows what she's talking about. The quizzes aren't so bad as long as you pay attention.
One of the best professors I have taken at Baruch. Professor Halliley is very caring and enthusiastic about her work. I learned more about personal finances with her than in high school or even throughout college. She cares a lot about students understanding financial literacy and she explains the concepts very well :) 10/10 recommend
This is the best professor you will find at Baruch College. Everyone should be forced to take this class with her. She's a complete expert in the topic that just by attending and paying attention you don't need to study much for the final! I would love to have her for more courses, she is a gem!
Great Professor!! She knows what she is doing and teaching. Learn more in the 6-week period than I thought I would!! Would take her class again
Great teacher
One of my favorite professors because of how straight forward she is in terms of grading as well as the life lessons she gives to us which is primarily based on her own experience working and investing in herself. She teaches the importance of tax avoidance/optimization, real estate, investing, etc. You need this class for the rest of your life.
An excellent professor, her lectures are entertaining and engaging while not being too hard to grasp. She very much deserves to teach at a higher level as she may be possibly one of the best, if not the best Finance professor in Baruch.
She's a very good professor, and she really cares about us learning so it can actually help us in our future. The work isn't difficult but you do have to try on doing the work. Aside from that she's a really good professor take her!!!!
I wish I can put more positive tags towards professor Halliley. She was amazing and simplified hard to learn terms in personal finance a breeze with engaging with students often, making fun scenarios and group thinking activities as well as being fully accessible and free to student who needed to see her in office hours. Could not recommend enough.
Great prof easy class just pay attention and you'll do good
She is very accommodating. Passionate in her profession and her teaching, making the lecture easy to grasp and understand.
Professor Halliley was an exceptional instructor, providing valuable guidance both inside and outside the classroom. She had a unique ability to break down complex topics in a way that made them easy to understand, ensuring that every student could grasp the material with confidence.
Having this class definitely made me interest into finance, if Professor Halliley teaches another class in the future I'll definitely take it!!! *for me it was a 3hr Friday course but pretty doable
She is very understanding. Doesn't give too much work. An easy grade. Worth every hour spent. Learned alot about investing, saving and many more financial things that can help me make more income
I thoroughly enjoyed this course, it's a 7 week course so it does move at a quicker pace. Professor Halliley was very clear on the grading criteria which made the course enjoyable rather than overwhelming. Her lectures are very informative and engaging. The quizzes are straightforward and her lectures help prepare you.
be prepared for each class, and she explain very clearly after that the quizzes are very easy if your paying attention the whole class.
Honesty, great class overall, very informative and very knowledgeable
Really good professor, lecture is clear and easy
She is a very good professor and gives a lot of insights into finance. It is very enjoyable that she turns lectures into practical real-life examples and tells about her personal experiences. She is also accessible after class and via email. Attendance matters as her tests are mostly based on what she talks about during the lecture, so be on time.
nice professor she cares about her students and tries to make the lectures interesting esp cuz lectures r 3 hours long, she also tries to dismiss us early if possible, u should take her if u can, you'll learn a lot if u show up to class
Professor Halliley was amazing all throughout the semester. She knows a lot about finance and makes her lectures really easy and understandable. Final grade is 55% quizzes (online), 30% final exam and 15% participation. If you need to take this class do yourself a favor and take it with her ASAP.
She has a lot of real-life experience and it shows. She is able to teach the class and provide some of her experiences to tie everything together. The PowerPoint/ slides are useful, clear and to the point. As long as you follow through class and go over it anything you missed at home, you'll be fine.
Strongly recommend!!
Passionate about her work and genuinely cares about educating students on financial literacy, it's reflected in her teaching.
Communicate quickly & teaches effectively. Also makes learning Finance fun.
If you could take this class with this professor I would do so ASAP. Even though the class is only 7 weeks, you are not overwhelmed with a lot of information that you have to learn. The professor is very understanding, there is no homework, and for the quizzes she gives enough time to complete them. The material learned is not hard to understand.
This class for being half the semester isnt that challenging. even though you would think its alot of information condensed into half a semester she makes slides easy to read. she elaborates alot out loud and records the meeting so you can rewatch them. she is great overall barely any homework. overall would recommend.
Professor Casey is great. For the short amount of time we had for the fin 2000 class, she taught us a lot of information that's valuable to pass the class as well as for the future. She also does immersive activities to make sure we understand and enjoy what we're learning. She gives a few assignments and quizzes so it's best to do all of them.
If you want an easy 100 class for a half credit course, DO NOT TAKE. If you want to know more about Finance, take it. If you want to know accurate information about Finance, Dont take. Googles answers and her definition, does not match. No extra credit, In-person final exam with no cheat sheet, tricky quizzes.
This is by far my favorite class and the best class I've had in my 4 years of college. We really dissected every major aspect of finance in our everyday life and made real live exercises which was very helpful. I highly recommend this class if you are into finance, business, marketing, or just great financial knowledge that will help you.
Easy class and explains well, plus she adds zoom recordings
She is friendly and nice to student.
Genuinely loved her, it was a half semester class so things went by fast but if you keep up w once a week lectures it's light work. Tries to make class fun and is passionate and super knowledgeable abt financial literacy, assignments are light even tho they're so few I wld probably take any class if she taught it
Does a good job keeping the lectures interesting and covers a lot of ground in a 7 week period. Class is fairly easy as long as you pay attention in the lectures.
She's actually pretty cool, I'm glad I took her. If she's available, take her too!
Prof Casey is very sweet and approachable. Her lectures were dynamic and assignments were somehow easy if you're active in class.
Lectures are very clear, not heavy. If you will attend all the classes, you will easily get an A.
Professor Halliley is a great professor who is clear on expectations of the class. In the first class you will know what assignments are to be done by the end of the semester. Very understanding and helpful. Would definitely take again
she made us write ratings for her for extra credit so people are are giving good ratings. She's not a difficult professor but her lectures are 3 hrs long and it could be done within an hour. She spends a lot of time doing extra things and promises to let us out early but doesn't end up following through. Her class was SUPER BORING
Classes were VERY LONG (3hrs, no break, never left early) and can be kinda boring. However, the class was simple and she explained everything very clearly. There was 1 quiz, 2 assignments, and 1 in-person paper final. The topics were based on the slides. The only negative to this professor is the long class time but trust me its worth the easy A!
She genuinely cares for her students and it shows ! Very clear grading and gives you enough time to study! Take her
Truly the best business professor I've ever had. She was a breath of fresh air and not only taught the curriculum but financial life advice that is good to know. She gave us book recs at the end of the semester and offered an extra credit game. Everything on the last test was reviewed on, so no surprises. She truly cares about her students!
Super simple and easy A class. Lectures were a bit boing but the tests and assignments were super simple and based on what she talks about in class. Prof was sweet and always easy to reach. Def recommend.
She is passionate about teaching and able to explain the material in simple words. There aren't many readings. The quizzes, assignments, and the exam aren't too difficult. There are 2 in-class quizzes and 2 take-home assignments. The final exam is in-person (multiple choice).
