Professor Allen is awesome. Although I failed her class; it was on my own shoulders for missing too many classes. Aside from that, her class was so much fun. Kept me on me feet the entire time. One thing I most enjoyed about Professor Allen is that she is constantly giving feedback on both your writing and your performance in the class rooms. A++++

Class is pretty easy as long as you keep up with her assignments that she gives out-- response papers, in-class writings, & essays. She rocks faces into oblivion with her samurai like satirical wit. Bad ass teacher. Funny, Quirky, and helpful. If you need ENC take this teacher. Definitely my favorite class.

She's probably one of the best teachers at PBCC. She gives good feedback and is always striving to help her students when it comes to writting. TAKE THIS CLASS! You will get an A if you do the work.

Professor Allen is one of the BEST "YOUNG" teachers @ Palm Bch College.She shows YouTube videos to help the students understand the short stories from the textbook.Do the weekly essay writings & the extra credits & you should get an A! She is the best teacher I eve had! I never had an A in any English class until I took her. Her tests/quizzes are simple as long as you study a little; her papers are easy to write, and even if you don't do well, you can re-submit! She has a wonderful personality and makes learning a boring subject fun! I will be taking her for 1102!

You will actually learn something in this class, she is fun and easy to talk to. Not an easy A but she gives 2nd chances! I enjoyed lit and writing in this class, attendance might not be one of her requirements but trust me you will have fun in this class.

I took Ms Allen in my first semester for ENC1101. I enjoyed her class to the max. Her technique made it easy to learn. She never once made me feel uncomfortable and she made sure to clarify everything that needed to me. I would take any class that she's teaching. I LOVE MS ALLENNNN

This class felt like i was back in high school, the same stories and pretty much the same assignment. i lost interest pretty easily. aside from that she is easy and pretty straigh forward. just dont miss any important dates, she wnt be happy about that but will try to give u an alternate assignment if she likes u and sees interest

Such an easy class, gives quizzes that are ridiculously easy, then a couple easy papers to write, a group project and then has the last class before thanksgiving. Material is high school stuff.

Mrs. Allen is honestly one of the best professors at palm beach state college. She gives quizzes and two papers to write plus you can revise each assignment. although, her comments on the papers can be rough they are extremely helpful. Wonderful wonderful women, very nice and only expects the best from you. :) Highly Recommended!!!!!!! Easy Easy

Professor Allen is one of the BEST professors here. She is what a GREAT teacher looks like. Actually memorized each students name and responded to emails within a day. Highly recommend.

Such a kind teacher! Never ever mean, genuinely cares about her students. The class is honestly not hard as long as you do your work, which is basic english work. She is fast to respond to emails and is really helpful if you're ever confused with something. I think there were 2 or 3 essays and one research paper. I really recommend this professor!

I took Ms. Allen for ENC1101 and ENC1102, and have never regretted doing so. She gave me a clear understanding on punctuation and essay structure which I now use to my advantage in other classes. The best thing about Ms. Allen's assignments are that they are relevant to your life & you get to pick topics! Also, she is so fun! I miss going to class.

A truly nice person. Caring, interested and who will invest a lot of time in helping you if u need it. Workload heavy, and relentless, and she is a tough grader. You will learn many helpful things, but u will work for an A if an A is what u seek.

Shes the best, super nice and helpful, papers are not that hard and she tells you what she expects to see on them. Read the book and youll get good grades on the pop quizzes which btw are pretty easy

Professor Allen was terrific. She is very clear about what she is looking for and provides excellent examples of what an A paper looks like. Her feedback is very constructive and her advice on critical thinking is helpful. She is a great choice for ENC1101 or ENC1102.

This is the first English class I actually enjoyed. Professor Allen is super sweet and tells you exactly what she expects to get a good grade! Only 2 major papers to write, one in the begging and a lengthy final paper. The rest is just homework questions and participation. Loved her class!

Ms. Allen is amazing! I'm taking her again for ENC1102, she's really nice and easy going just show respect and show up to class there will be quizzes on the readings but they're really easy. Only 3 essays she gives you an outline and you can turn a draft into her for review before the assignment is actually due. She's really helpful I recommend her

She offers a lot of extra credit but its usually on a whim so watch out and grab them when given. 1 rhetorical analysis then the rest WA's are for a research essay: proposal, outline/bib, draft, final. HW is easy w/ textbook.

Ms. Allen (she prefers to be called by "Ms." rather than "Professor") is the most down-to-Earth professor you'll ever have. She makes writing easy, and gives very clear directions, good feedback, and is lenient with deadlines. She's always there to help. She's a bit hard on herself and emotional, and it gets to her. But it shouldn't, she's great.

Ms. Allen is a great teacher, thought I was not going to pass this class but her outline for the papers were really resourceful and helped with my writing. Do the homework, it'll help your grade. Lots of reading, but it's an English class, go figure. You def need the book.

Very good teacher, easy to approach and talk about anything u need to clear up, supportive and available. At the beginning youll read a little; Easy quizzes and homeworks. Broke the process of making a research paper in parts and the assingmesnts helped write the paper itself at the end.

Prof Allen cares for her students a lot, and she'll spend extra time outside of class with you if needed. As long as you turn in all the work and follow directions, you're good to go. She also give great feed backs for every assignments on where you need to improve and lets you revise your papers if its not an A. I definitely recommend taking her.

She is an amazing professor and is always accessible outside of class. Responds crazy fast to emails which is good and she is super nice. The 5 writing assignments suck and she is kind of a strict grader.

Ms. Allen's assignments can, at times, be tedious. It requires lots of critical thinking skills but put in enough research and work, you'll be good to go. She gives clear instructions, good feed backs and helps you through and through with whatever you lack or have trouble with. I've taken her for ENC1101 & 2. Would 100% take her again if I could.

Even though I hate writing papers this class helped me out so much in writing a good paper for future my classes. She honestly wants all of her students to pass and will help in any way she can. Glad I took her and would recommend for both enc1101 and 1102.

Professor Allen was amazing! If you have trouble writing take her her feedback is straight to the point and she explains how you can improve she really cares for her students. I would take her again but it was full! Just do the blackboard assignments on time and work well on your essays and youll be good not a hard class at all.

I love Professor Allen! She is a very nice and understanding professor. However, her class is difficult, and it is very frustrating when you work so hard- just to get a little over 1/2 credit. Very misleading and frustrating.

There are weekly assignments and 3 essays. Professor Allen is great professor, her grading criteria is clear and simple. She is available outside class. If you feel you are struggling, don't hesitate to reach out to her. She is very knowledgeable. If you really want to improve your writing, she is the one. Take her, you will not regret it.

Professor Allen is a good teacher. Although its an easy A class you really have to work for it. Each week is heavy with assignments about 4-6. Grading is super easy she grades for completion and not how accurate. Only time its graded for accurate is tests or quizzes. The essays are graded for completion (if you include everything she said to)

Mrs. Allen is great and gives good feedback. However, she does give alot of work and it is an easy A if you are willing to put in the effort. I do not recommend taking her class if you can not focus all of your attention on the work that she has assigned as it is long and you will need to make the time.

Ms. Allen was one of the best professors I have ever taken. The bad reviews are because of the amount of writing. She uploads videos explaining EVERYTHING she wants for her assignments and is always willing to help. She accepts late work up to 7 days late with only 1 point off for everyday, so you can still get a 93.I wish I could taken her again.

I took her during fall 2023; she was one of the best English professors I've had. Her instructions were always clear (in multiple formats too) and she gave detailed feedback for each assignment. She gave us so much time to prepare for the final paper. This can be a difficult course, but if you put in the work you can do well.

She is very nice but in total is a tough with what she grades if you're one of those who use AI just dont treat you own words.

She was such a caring and understanding teacher. Her feedback on work was amazing, and she gave you enough time to look at feedback before the next big assignment. Quizzes were literally straight from the textbook (allowed extra credit), and you are only writing one research paper throughout the entirety of the course.

Ms. Allen is an amazing teacher! You will have no issues passing this class if you put in the effort and don't cheat. Details: Her dry humor is hilarious. She's a fair grader. There are 4 major writing assignments which are geared towards 1 final paper. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Open book quizzes. SLC tutoring. God bless! (Romans 10:9)

Miss Allen is truly one of the best teachers I've had. There was a lot of writing, but the way she structures her assignments makes it so that you don't have to do too much all at once. I ended up falling behind at one point, and she kept me motivated and encouraged me to excel. Her late policy is amazing, and I wish more teachers were like her.

Very nice very sweet. You have to write 3 papers so be prepared to do all the work. She gives you outlines for the papers and makes things very simple. Be sure to do the extra credit because it cost my A to a B. would definitely reccomend.
