She lectures every class period, and easily gets off topic. There were 2 tests consisting of multiple choice, essay, and vocab. Mult choice was hardest part of test. No study guides. NO final!! 1 very easy research paper. She is more than happy to help w/it. I definitely recommend her but you HAVE to keep up w/the reading!!
Doesn't believe in study guides. Two tests, and a few small grades, but you do bad on the tests - don't expect a good grade. 1 page (front back) essay on each test about half the grade. Would not suggest.
She is very passionate about government. There is 2 exams if you do bad on one you are toast. There is one research paper and 2 presentations. No study guides. Shes very liberal. Tough class.
It is clear she is passionate & knowledgeable about gov & the politics behind gov. Uses poor quality powerpoints. Prone 2 entering into engaging group discussions where you can state your opinions but hard 2 folow if you dont do your reading. Lienent grades on test essays. Has no accent. One of my best looking teachers ive had so far. Hard class.
Awesome prof! Loved her class!
Professor Khatri was absolutely wonderful! I took government 2 in the 3 week session and barely opened the book except for the essays. She goes out of her way to help her students and makes the class interesting.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I took Professor Khatri in a minimester. Shes good kinda hard. you have to you pay attention. Be ready to write and participate. She's really enthusiastic about the course and does put her powerpoints up online. Overall good class
Great class! If you do bad in her class, it's your OWN fault.
Ms. K was awesome I would recommend taking her! You have to read your textbook to follow along on the lectures. She likes to engage in discussions. And It's really hard to fail her class, unless you don't do anything. She has no finals so reading your textbook it preferred. And she gives you the whole year to do your final research paper as well.
She is the bomb.com! I took her for both 2301 and 2302 and loved this class. I used to hate government but she made things seem so clear. She is passionate about government and she loves her job. Super easy to pass. You have to read and take notes, but no tests except for the final! I recommend this class to everyone
Worst teacher ever. Does not help you AT ALL. just says to go over notes which is like 500 pages of slides. Any time you answer a question you better hope it's right because she makes fun of you if it's not. No outlines, quizzes or reviews before the one test you get. Your entire grade is an essay, one test and the final. Worst teacher ever.
She is a great teacher and is willing to help her students.
She is extremely unprofessional, and not at all understanding. (Pertaining to her online class) she sends all the e-mails, homework assignments, and discussion topics through her phone, which results in many typos and sometimes incoherent sentences.
She can be very rude. But if you study the slides you'll get a pretty good grade. I wouldn't recommend her.
Professor Khatri is funny. She's really passionate about her subject. The only reason people are complaining is because they don't know how to study for her class. She's not the professor who will hand out the test as a review for the actual test. If we had more professors like her we would probably have more motivation to study and not be lazy.
She was extremely rude to many of her students, and made it obvious when she didn't like someone. When answering a question, make sure you know exactly what you are talking about otherwise she will belittle you/roll her eyes/laugh. She will also do the same thing if she disagrees with you (she is very liberal). Also doesn't believe in study guides.
She is a funny teacher but doesn't believe in study guides, which makes it hard to know whats going to be on the test. She is very defensive and rude at times. I would not take her if I was you. If your enrolled, please get another teacher
DO not take her class. Her tests are somewhat hard, doesn't give study guides & she gives you 50 vocab words to study but puts 20 on the test for you to know. She is RUDE & has negative attitudes. Just pick another teacher
If you listen, take notes and read the required info you should pass. The final is a research paper that you know about at the start of the semster. Just pay attention and you will learn something. She is young but LOVES GVT.!!
If you are wanting to learn she is ready to teach! Not an easy grade, you have to earn it.
really gets you involved into politics.you gotta earn your grade..not an easy class. a unique teaching method, but not suitable for everyone. i dont recommend, nor do i think shes a awful teacher.
If you pay attention and go over the slides like she suggests, it's really not that bad of a class. She's hilarious with her sarcasm and she can relate to the younger students easily. She's VERY passionate about Government and she expects you to open your mouth and participate. If you put in the effort, you can learn a lot.
I took Professor Khatri online and I loved her class. I got a A as long as you do the discussions and go over the powerpoints you will pass. There are two test both are essays and one current event paper and a research paper. If you dont like writing do not take this class then. She was very helpful and you have to work for your grade.
she is not helpful. if a situation arises, she doesn't care to help you. She gives the same excuse that you have heard for every year you have been in school-"if i did it for you than i would have to do it for everybody." That is a joke. Some teachers see a student make an effort, and they will go the extra mile. She is not that teacher.
she was a good teacher she can be a little rude sometimes but she means well. he class was easy and fun. she tries to be funny but most of her jokes aren't funny at all. the test were a little hard so study a lot not much homework but you do need to attend class to pass.
Horrible professor and very inconsiderate.I would recommend this professor to any one.
extremely curt and non responsive. Does not give course work in a timely manner. Unable to reason on projects/papers. Should not be teaching, probably could not survive in the real world.
My first D in my college career. She's pretty tough when it comes to grading, to the point where it's kind of ridiculous. For an online class, you would think she would be a little easier..the work is really easy, no doubt but it looks like she knit picks every little thing. It's kinda of crazy. She also of comes off rude in her response.
She is a good teacher. If you ask questions, she will answer them. Too many questions and she will start to get annoyed. Don't pester her. Her grading is not that hard if you actually do the assignments. But most of the assignments seemed to be manageable independent of the lessons. If you can keep up with deadline, I would recommend this prof.
For her tests you have to write essays This was my first online class and so I accidentally submitted the wrong document (the directions for the assignment) both the test and directions were named the same thing And then she wouldn't let me submit my actual essay and gave me a zero I would have had a 97 in that class instead of an 82
as long as you read over the powerpoints on a computer and participate in class, everything will be smooth sailing. ask any question and she will answer as best she can. however if no one answers a question mid-class, she just doesnt move on until some one answers.
I took this class online and loved Ms. Khatri. The tests online are essays, but it's really not much, just make sure you are detailed and she grades it easily. Honestly, I didn't even read the book unless it was to delve more into the weekly discussions, which she actually gives you about a week and a half to two weeks for each discussion.
quite possibly the worst government teacher at lonestar. terrible. she breathes and lives government. i would not recommend. i was literally at .5 from a C and she wouldnt help me. her lectures are boring because no loves government like she does. she expects way too much from students who want to learn, but cant because of her perspective on gov.
This is my first time writing a review for a teacher. Her class is kinda boring, she haves you buy the book and read it but actually we barely touched it. She's tough, gives 2 presentations, 2 exams and a research paper that I think she expects students to have it done "properly" since she's doing graduate. Sometimes she could be mean too!
She is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. She is rude, she is NOT helpful at all. I did all the reading and work required but it was still a difficult class. It is very unclear what she wants and when you ask for help, it is still unclear!! Sad thing is I love politics but she is awful.
It was a winter minimester class so I expected there to be a lot of work. It wasn't really bad at all. Just read a chapter or two every two days and post one discussion and reply to two more. There are two tests and you must write 2-3 pages on two of four topics. There's a two page current event paper and a three page research paper due at the end.
So she was not helpful, her grading skills for govt are way too high 7 discussion questions, 2 research papers, 3 tests. SHE'S HORRIBLE do not take her if you are not so great at govt. She literally does nothing to help you pass. Only 2% from C
I highly recommend to NOT take this instructor. She is a very slow grader, does not keep in touch with her students and is an extremely tough grader. She takes a very long time to respond to any e-mails and not a helpful instructor AT ALL. I sincerely regret taking this pathetic excuse for a professor.
Amazing professor, and I would definitely take her again. She is very interesting, her high energy kept me awake at 8am, which is hard. I would go into my next class and sleep, but her class was interesting and had great lectures. Learned a lot from this course. Not a lot of work. Only 2 written exams, 1 research paper, and a two presentations.
Class consisted of Two tests (each with two 2-3 page papers on easy topics) One 4-6Page research paper. One 1-2 Page paper and 7 discussion questions you had to post on three times each. Yes its alot of papers but if your good at writing then its super easy. Easy grader. I would def. take her again for another course.
Show up to class on time everyday! Pay attention and ask questions. All she looks for in grading is that you are on topic and analyze everything. She is very strict on that.
I just love her!! She makes this boring class so interesting and is very helpful
Only two "tests" in her online course.. You have approx 48 hours to complete them. Be careful not to wait until the last minute- these tests are actually 4-6 pg papers! The writing prompts are not very clear and you can only use your book (not easy to do). She has never answered an email I have sent to her. Weekly discuss. questions - tough grader.
This teacher does not follow her own syllabus or grading guidelines. Assigns work during/in the middle of major holidays. No feedback or engagement whatsoever during the course.
This is a great class if you want to learn Government. Professor Khatri provides a beautiful webtext textbook that makes it very easy to learn and read. Usually Government is boring but the learning material makes it very simple and easy. Khatri is very helpful and to the point. If I had to do it all over I would've taken her for my History class.
Make sure you turn everything in on time. The grading is hard because there are only 100 points possible. No extra credit or change for recovery, so make sure you turn in all your work on time and correct.
This class shouldn't be as hard as an advanced accounting class but believe me it is. Prof had us read Princeton & Harvard law reviews and expect them to understand and use them on our papers. You have to participate on the discussions board and if dont have long paragraphs or grammer mistakes. She will take points off. Hard class overall!!
Professor Kharti is not the worst professor I've had, but not the best. I would not recommend taking her if you have better options. There are discussions every week and I would get points off for the littlest things and her emails are usually vague and rude. All tests are written essays plus a research paper and current event paper.
She's funny, she creates a fun learning environment. She doesn't give grades back until the end but does this so student's will not slack off. She gives you everything you need to pass the class. Just come to class, listen, and do the assignments. If you do the work you'll get an A, easy.
With professor Khatri you have to show that you're willing and know how to analyze. We would have some of the most hilarious discussions in class. She just doesn't take any BS. However, over all the class wasn't too bad. The only grades we had were two response papers and a group project then final term paper. If you show effort, she is helpful
I took this class online, I think it was wayyy easier than in person. she was not a tough grader at all. had many discussion questions and writing to do though but do able
Pretty lenient grader. A LOT of writing though. I took the may minimester and it wasn't THAT bad. The papers were really open ended and allowed you to make the class more useful to your interests. I only wish the readings were front-loaded/spread out more evenly toward the end when all of the major assignments were due.
She is very rude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the best prof. i have ever taken. She makes the class very interesting.
4+ essay assignments, doesn't stick to syllabus, is willing to help, passionate about govt., easy grader, and talks about current political issues.
Took her class online. wasn't too hard, she just doesn't work with you well or seem to care much. No extra credit. Not my best grade with her.
If your looking for an easy grade you came to the wrong place, you wont get something for nothing with her. Its a gov class, sorry if your not into discussing current events. However, with a little bit of effort she will work with you on just about anything. Show up, do all the assignments, and participate once in a while and youll do Fine.
Two reasons I don't like her 1. She has high expectations for her student. She thought her student should know everything. 2. RUDE!!!
Terrible. She won't reply to e-mails or try to help when you have a problem
I would recommended that people who want an easy A to probably not do it online. She will reply to your messages just let her know that you do not want to fail her class. I was able to pass with a B online but I did have a hard time with it but like I said contact her she is willing to help you but she does have exceptions
Took this course as an online class, she would never open the assignments on time and then fail you when it was her fault for never giving you enough time. Doesn't seem to care about the students - was very rude, never replied on time, no extra credit assignments, very stuck up and never gave you good material to study by.
I have never had to taken a class where responding to others comments on a discussion question counts as HALF of your grade. You can spend your whole time researching, citing, answering dozens of questions she gives you, and you wont get any credit for it UNLESS you reply to someones comment. Are you kidding me? You fail if you don't reply.
If you want a teacher that actually seems to care about you, stay away. 50% of your grade is based off of the work of other students. You get no credit if you're one word short from her word count. Good luck getting a rubric for anything. Her syllabus is vague and her grading criteria is based on how she feels that day. I regret taking this teacher
Gives a definite syllabus with dates to plan ahead. Replies immediately if you have questions. Doesn't participate in class. Do not procrastinate on papers because does not accept late papers. Provided materials to learn from. Learn mainly from textbook - get ready to read. Lenient on discussion posts. Tough on papers - majority of grade.
Super tough Grader! I consider myself a good writer, but there are never enough examples in the essays to make Khatri happy. Government is easy, but the amount of work makes it kind of hard. Work for it! The class is boring, and there's no interaction between you and the teacher, unless she posts something. Test are a killer! 10 pages twice
students have to work by themselves, syllabus not clear. Never satisfy her. Don't take her. No phone in class
Great teacher and knows what she is talking about. Not a lot of homework but you MUST read the text book. Look over the notes she posts beforehand. Only 3 papers but they are long and lengthy. If you do your work you won't have a problem in the class. She responds to emails super fast and always answers questions.
Professor Khatri is the reason I dropped out of college. When I turned in all of my essays, and discussion questions, she took off more than 75% of my grade for NOT COMMENTING ON ANOTHER PERSONS DISCUSSION QUESTION. If THATS whats more important than my actual work, than college to this lady is a joke. And when I emailed her, she could care less.
Khatri continued being lackluster in addressing my concerns in a professional manner. Khatri throughout the semester made numerous mistakes in inputting the correct due dates and criteria within discussion posts, therefore confusing what is genuinely needed. She changes grades on a whim. Not helpful, and came across as condescending within emails.
While her lectures did bore me a bit, she seemed incredibly passionate about what she taught, I always appreciated this. She's very nice if you do what she asks, which is sometimes hard. Her tests are long but there are only 2. She responds VERY quickly and is always willing to help. If you want a challenge, take her class. I personally loved it!
Worst EVER n/j. Working on her PhD, so she acts like she's got something to prove at the expense of her students. Condescending, likes to make students look stupid to make herself feel superior, grades based on how much she likes you. Expects graduate level work from freshmen, I know 2 ppl. who left school because of her, not there to help THEWORST
I ended up getting professor khatri after signing up for my classes too late, and this website had me scared for my life. as far as the online class goes, she is extremely accessible, nice, and clearly outlines what is expected of you. tests are written so its not as easy as others who may use quizlets but as long as you have the textbook ur fine.
Does not stick to syllabus sometimes, or reuses syllabus from previous years. Changes grades without notice, essays and discussion posts are hard to do. She will reply to your emails, but if you send too many she will get fed up with you. She has really high expectations nobody can fulfill. I shed so many tears, and was thinking of dropping out.
Awful teacher, if you email her asking questions she will either hit you with a one sentence response that's barely helpful or talk to you like you should already know what your asking. don't waste your time with this teacher. she gave us a 2 "tests" that were 4, 2-3 page essays done within three days... 2!! i have to work that time line is awful
Cassandra Khatri is the worst professor i have ever taken in my entire college life. She just talks in the class and does not have any activities at all. she automatically expects us to know stuff and get it done on our own from home. Nothing is discussed in class about any assignments or presentations. PLEASSEE DO NOT TAKE HER AT ALL !!!
I took her in my first Semester in college and I hated it, she 100% has an ego problem. She is the absolute worst when it comes to explaining assignments, She expects us to know things she hasn't even taught the class. She is very difficult when it comes to assignments and turning in work. Do not take this teacher its not worth the time.
This is by far the worst teacher/professor I have ever had in my schooling career. I sent 8 emails over the 8 week course I took and only got a response to 1. She also takes off way too many points for what she considers an "error." She does not post any assignments until the last minute as well. Worst professor ever, do not choose or move out ASAP
Class was UNECCESSARILY difficult. The two tests were essentially 10 page research papers. Fit for a graduate law student!! The powerpoints provided were useless. no explanations or lecture videos to help, Im not sure if she did ANY teaching at all other than assign work and grade it harshly. I dont feel like I learned anything in this course.
Hardest class ever!!! Although there are only two test they are 10 pages each. I missed out on so much while taking her test. She can be funny, but she expects you to know a lot. There is so much reading and podcasts involved. I wish I hadn't signed up for classes late or else I wouldn't have gotten her. Please don't make the mistake of taking this
The WORST teacher ever. She is very anal about things and expect you to do assignments and does not teach. She likes to cram big assignments in a small window. Her test are only 2 but guess what... those 2 test are 8 essay's split into 4. Don't think about extra credit. She's just a harsh teacher with a chip on her shoulder.
This class isnt an easy A, but you will learn a lot from the class. The professor is passionate about government and likes her students to be involved in lectures whether it be answering or asking questions. Her tests and essays are take home but will require you to set time aside. Shes a tough grader but is understanding of the lives of students.
Probably the worst professor in University Park. If your're registering for classes and came here to see if she's worth taking this is a sign NOT to take her class. I took her in person I can't imagine how worse she is online. She is a very tough grader, will favor you if you're a teachers pet, very unprofessional and cusses every 5 seconds in cla
HORRIBLE teacher. DONT take this class. A downright rude teacher doesn't understand that students have lives outside of GOVT 2305.
VERY TERRIBLE TEACHER!!!!!! REALLY DON'T TAKE HER CLASSES. SUPER RUDE TO STUDENTS VERBALLY AND IN EMAIL. DISORGANIZED. ASSIGNMENTS ARE WAY ABOVE COMMUNITY COLLEGE LEVEL BUT SHE'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO WORK AT 4 YEAR COLLEGE. GOTTA BE PSYCHIC TO KNOW WHAT TO PUT IN PAPERS AND DISCUSSIONS. KNOWING WHAT TO TURN IN WHEN'S A CHORE CAUSE HER STUFF'S A MESS.
Taking this class with Prof Khatri turned out to be one of my worst decisions in 2020. For lack of better words, she was a horrible professor. She was extremely abrasive in emails and correspondence, demeaning and very condescending. The class is unnecessarily difficult and her syllabus does NOT correspond with the class. Do NOT take this course!
This Professor is incredible. I truly do not understand why she has so many bad ratings. I was hesitant at first, but she always responded all my questions. I absolutely loved her class you learn a lot!
Most of its busy work and it's not hard.
She needs to make her curriculum easier to understand. A class should never be this draining.
Honestly, this class was heavy work! I personally enjoyed the class you learn so much, but there were due dates every 2-4 days.
Immediately started talking about white men and diversity in a Federal Government class. Absolute leftist hack. I'll update this rating as I continue the class.
Horrible instructor. Does not know how to effectively teach. Condescending and rude--take anyone but her.
I think some students might be mad because they have to work in this class. I found it to be enjoyable, and she is very knowledgeable in the subject. I learned a lot, and I worked for my grade. Follow instructions. Its that simple.
She is nice and passionate. It matters if you know the professor believes in what she's teaching you. I don't think she's getting fair ratings. If you have the mindset to give your professor a bad rating because of the heavy work you need to do outside the class. Maybe college is not the right path for you. Give reasonable and objective ratings!
Professor Khatri was professional and very educated on the subject she was teaching. She provided good slide shows and other youtube videos for the subject each week. GAVE NO tests, but you do have to complete the Inquizitives that go along with your text book, but all on your own time. Final was a research paper on a political cartoon.
I couldn't buy the book as soon as the class started. so she decided to drop me.
Dr. Khatri is a great professor, the work is : packbacks, rough draft paper, inquizitives, and final paper which is the final exam. I took her online class and whenever I had a question or difficulty in an assignment she would make time. I would take her again just make sure to not submit your work late because she doesn't accept late work.
Very helpful and Hilarious the workload can get a tad overwhelming if you don't stay on top of your work but the amount of work is very small she's very open to different ways to take in knowledge and is more than willing to give feedback on any work you give her 10/10 professor.
I read the other reviews, those students were not being sincere. There is NO WAY the class could be easier. Just read the chapters, take online quizzes til you pass them all, write 3 simple questions to the class, answer 6 questions. 1/2 podcasts are boring, textbook also leans left. If you think this class is hard, get ready for the real world!
I was skeptical to take her course after reading some alarming reviews, but my experience with professor Kharti could not have been better! As long as you put in effort, stay on top of assignments, and communicate you will be fine. When she gives feedback it is helpful and she doesn't deduct points for it. Mainly Inquizitive and packback forums.
Don't take her. About to graduate and still worse professor I've had my whole education span.
I took a 3-week minimester and Dr. Khatri did a great job at having us cram in a semester's worth of knowledge in just a short amount of time. She took the time to create playlists, give resources and feedback just for us to understand the information better. She has no problem answering any questions and does so rather swiftly. I would take again!
Don't be deterred by the bad reviews!! I loved her! I took a summer 6 week course with her and we had 3 original questions, 6 total responses, and 16 InQuizitives. She's not a hard grader and the work is very spread out. She answers quickly and has videos that explain the platforms she uses. Great summer class for those who work!
Took Prof. Khatri's 6 wk for Govt 2305, and she made the course easy to navigate! The workload was also very easy -- 3 discussions in total with 6 replies and 17 inquizitives. The inquizitives could be finished within 2 weeks if you work on them daily! I'd probably take her again if I get the chance:)
Only take this professor if you enjoy learning government. She makes us write a short essay about a question we want to ask the class. The following week, respond to two classmates questions with a short essay type response. Plus the assignments with the textbook. She hadn't put any grades in until four weeks after class started.
She was very passionate about her material, and there wasn't much work. My course was primarily based on discussion boards and essays. She did not have many lectures but graded essays with a higher level of rigor.
16-wk in person course consists of wkly detailed discussion posts(1 question one wk,2 responses the next). Around 16 online assignments. 6-8pg final research paper(outline and wrksheet are separate grades). No late work, if you cite incorrectly it's a 0. Do NOT take if you don't enjoy Gov but ig her passion in lecture sometimes makes it interesting
Absolutely do not take this class unless you are a Democrat. Her rubrics and instructions and feedback were unclear and she let her politics influence her lectures. She didn't respond to emails and made factually incorrect statements like "America is a socialist country." Do not take her class.
Prof. Khatri's class has mixed reviews, but unstuck study helped me stay on top of the workload. The course content is challenging, but her feedback is valuable if you engage with it. Worth taking with proper study habits.
Does not have too many assignments, but does not respond to emails within 24 hrs
Took her during the election period, I really enjoyed this class and she respected everyone's beliefs. Don't let her ratings scare you, I struggle with politics but I actually ended up passing with an A. You'll do fine. Everyone seems to be upset that she gives out papers, but you're no longer in highschool, this is expected in college.
A lot of writing was required it probably doubled my time in this class alone compared to the other four classes I was taking. If you want to make federal government apart of your career and would like to write your own laws this could be for you, I do not suggest this instructor for needing a general requirement.
