VERY good teacher - helpful, clear, funny, not very boring. Recommend: Take her!
She's funny, always high on caffeine, and not boring
very good prof.!! hyper with coffee. very helpful!!
accent, very easy homework, and practice tests same as test
what did she just say?
Hard to understand, but easiest Econ teacher there is
Laid back class, She's always on a caffiene high
easy tests, nice lady, went to class twice all semester, still got an A
Cooky, tests have changed, still not that hard
Sexy accent, she is extremely nice and animated, all the graphs look the same!

the tests are hard
Very hard to understand! She is not very helpful and her tests and homework are hard.
She is always in a good mood.Very nice and makes sure you understand what she is talking about by going clear, yes?, yes?, yes?!!! Very cool teacher. Tests are MC, she gives you practice tests so you can be ready.Go to tutoring for help on ho
ReaLLy NiCe aND uNDeRSTaNDiNG. VeRy iMPoRTaNT To STuDy & Do THe HoMeWoRK! No QuiZZeS!
She is nice and understanding. Hard tests though. Could ge worse. Didnt go to class that much and got a C
class seems easy but its not tests are hard and so is homework...her accent makes it hard to understand material,,no curve
She is a good teacher. No cumlative final exam which is a huge help. Homework is challenging and so are the tests. Grade is determined on 3 tests and 3 homework assignments. Do good on hw and you will get a C or better.
Lectures covered everything on the test. Homework just an expansion on bookwork. Tests hard if you're too lazy to go to class. Test mimics practice-tests she posts online.
Easy class if you study an hour or two before the tests. I barely went to this class and got a B+. Homework can be done in class as she explains it on the board. She makes every effort to get the classes' attention but fails. Funny to watch =)
This teacher is very exciting. She is always excited and ready to teach. She is one of the best if not the best teacher at SDSU. Very polite and always has a smile on her face.
She's a very good teacher, just go to class, copy her notes, and you'll be fine in the class. Her tests can be a little difficult, but she grades on a curve.
She is a fairly easy teacher. Goes a little too fast when explaining things, but overall a pretty good professor. No Final! YEA!! Only three tests.
really a sweet lady. From Spain, sute accent and is obsessed with Starbucks. Econ itself isn't easy, but Amuedo is really a good teacher and responds well to questions. Dont really have to go to class, if you study the chapter, but she breaks it down
Good teacher. Count how many times she says "O.K." per class session. Last count: 175... no joke
nice, pretty easy
Nice woman. Talks fast but she knows what she's talking about. She doesn't just read the text like some teachers do for lectures.
Entertaining to watch and listen to, laughs all the time. Very good professor, although she moves fast within the subject. Helpful and intelligent.
Her tests are pretty hard, but shes a pretty easy grader
I must say she is a terrible teacher. If you don't buy a new book, you can't get some test materials on her site. You have three exams in class. You fail one, you fail the class. It's hard to understand her English. Her accent is very thick. Don't take he
a lazy teacher. always dismisses class very early. Having thick accent. Only Spanishs understand her English.Tests're tricky.Need to buy new books to get access # for practice exams.she sucks. not recommend.
Very challenging course. She lectures very fast. Her test are also challenging.
Class was always entertaining. Very nice lady that has a good sense of humor. Although, class seems like a breeze because you don't have to go she grades very hard. That is the only downfall.
good sense of humor.Tests are not diff. just go to class. Tests are based on class examples and book examples. Its not as bad as everyone made it seem before. I am getting a B+ and not even putting much effort.
tough class. You cannot coast through this one. Tough grading and very hard to understand. She is pretty nice though
Great teacher. Has a slight accent but it is still easy to understand her. She's very enthusiastic and makes a lot of corny jokes. Tests are easy, just go to class, they are the same as the example problems. She also makes sure you really know your stuff.
Very nice, laughs a lot. First 2 tests are hard, next 2 are easy. Overall, a B is not too hard to get. She is really nice and helpful and hot in a motherly way. Eww.
wonderful teacher and realy wants you to learn. Class is not hard and funny in a wierd way. Slight accent but i would reccomend her to anyone
catalina is very funny and laughs a lot. talks very fast but ask questions and she will clearify the problem. very helpful w/ homework, show her some of the problems and she will give the answer. study her study guides and nothing else, will get good grades on 4 test.
Reminded me of high school. The teacher could not control her class. I've never seen coffee effect somebody like that. Hard to understand. Few tests or assignments. The worst teacher I have ever encountered. Study guides don't help. If econ is not a natural subject for you don't take her!
Very enthusiastic. Knows the material extremely well and will do her best to help you in any way. Easy B.
very easy class, 4 assignments and 4 tests. tests are exactly the same thing that the homework... super easy!!! she is a very nice teacher, and she will help you as much as she can!! i never went to class except when she handed assignments, and on the exams days and got an A+...
This was the eaiest class ever. If you know the basic priciples of econ, you don't ever need to go to class. I got 100% in the class and never studied.
makes econ enjoyable by being hyper... will help you if you need help at anytime.. you have to look at it from the aspect of econ. econ is boring she makes it somewhat exciting any teacher who can do that is definately worth taking. easy b study a little you got yourself an A very reasonable grader
The first 2 tests are hard, the last 2 are easy, the final is optional and way easy! She's very excited about the material, definately take her!
the class average was 83, so yes this was the easiest class I have ever taken, all lectures were about 15 minutes long and she is very funny
Never really went to class. 4 Tests, 4 HW Assignments...tests are nearly the same as the HW assignments you complete. She is a very nice teacher, got out of class early nearly every day.
most of the class recieved less than a C on the first of the four tests. That was supposed to be the easy one?3 more tests left and they're all worth 1/4 the grade? avoid this professor! She speaks so fast, and she begins new topics before she even finishes writing what she was just talking about on the board!1/2 class h8s her,the rest econ majors!
I had an absolute blast in this class (when i did manage to attend, of course). She is a native from South Spain; Sevilla in Andalusia for all you who are curious. To do well in this class, you should read the text and go over the examples she covers in class. The homework can be hard, but the test are like a carbon copy, so don't slack.
She is really clear and this class is supper easy if you took econ 101. The first half is basically a repeat of 101. You always get out early and class is usually about 45 min. There are only 4 test, 4 homeworks and an optional final. If you understand the homework then you will do well on the test.
she sucks, very unintelligent, i am going to stop going to this class and retake course with a smarter teacher now thanks B***H
Lectures are straight from the book. Class notes are on blackboard. The only thing missing from these notes are the graphs and you can get these from the book. Tests are similar to homework. She curves the class. I would recommend this class to econ majors. Her accent is easy to understand if you're from San Diego.
the class isn't too bad, and if you've taken econ 101 you'll do fine on the first half of the class. the aplia assignments are cake and the last two tests arent bad as long as u go to class. optional final is nice, and for fun, count how many times she says "basically" in one class period (i'd say about 500).
Not a very good teacher. Hard to understand. Uses Aplia online for HW and it is lasses are usually about 30 min. optional final.
you dont really have to go to class because all the lectures are straight from the book...the aplia assignments are fairly easy and so are the test...you just have to know the material...she was a little hard to understand at first because of her accent...but you get use to it and when she laughs it is hilarious...a very nice lady though!!
hard to understand but nice lady. tests were kind of hard and if you dont know one question you basically fail. applia was ok but she had 3 chapters due at the same time every time so you have to do everything all at once which sucks. never kept us in class the whole time which was awesome
I had taken an Econ102 class last sem before dropping it for scheduling reasons and after the other prof and then taking this one the improvement is incredible. As long as you go to class all things in lecture are exactly the same on the exams, so you'll do fine. She also always lets class out early. If you must take Econ102 I highly suggest her
Great teacher...her accent is pretty cute. Tests and material are pretty hard to comprehend, but she grades fair unlike many teachers.
HOLY**** she is totally awesome teacher, not that clear she lets her love obsession with the author the infamous 'borjas'!!! Timed her she says 'unkay' 6.5 times per minute! But I have to say studying period for the last two test is kinda stupid, just study for the first ones and do well on the hw cuz there are only two, buy your book online!
if you can retain three chapters of notes and really know them per exam then you'll do ok.do NOT miss a class b/c you will miss a third of an exam.take good notes and study.there is a slight curve and she drops one exam.if your 1st four exams were great=no final.if not the final is your last hope.no extra cred/no papers/out early always.
On the first day of class, she said "ok, mmk, or k" 396 times. Yes, I counted everyone. Although, she teaches right to the test and I got an A with not much effort. Go to class. Take the once a week class becuase she never goes over an hour and a half out of the almost 3 hours that she could take.
didnt study, didnt learn, didnt attend class, got an A. 3 hour once a week class, lets you out after 1 hr. Never went though, 4 tests, 1 optional final, 4 internet homeworks...does it get any easier?
how does this lady have ONE good rating??? she is absolutley horrible and belittles her students in class when they ask for help or for her to slow down. she seriously pants and is out of breath from talking so fast. is that really necessary? aren't we paying you to TEACH us the material? bottom line: avoid this teacher
worst econ teacher ever! tests were completly problem based. she tells you to pratice problems in the back of the book but dosnt give u an answer key, so impossible to know if your practicing right! very unclear and hard to learn from. just dont take her if you want to learn anything. deff. not an easy A and horrible professor!!!
She seriously says "mmk" 32409732 times in one sentence. She doesn't speak clearly and doesn't really care. Had class once a week which made it even harder to understand because theres something new each day. Hate it. Don't take this class, please.
If you're taking an upper division class, don't look at the lower division ratings. She expects upper division students to be Economists already. If it wasn't for the curve & everyone doing bad on the exams (class average of 53%), I would have gotten a D. To anyone taking Labor Econ, get used to learning on your own from the book or internet.
This is my second time taking this class and she is by far the better teacher! Took Lee last semester and got a D, took her this semester and got a B+! Tests are hard because they were all pretty much free response and drawing graphs. Easy to understand and easy to predict what will be on tests. VERY EASY class!
not so great. difficult to understand; all the tests are written and you have to teach yourself.
Do all the homework and show up to class. I just studied off homework and lecture notes and I got an A. Sometimes I would study probs in back of chapter, if you have questions you can ask her. Tests are bit hard and all prob based. Pretty simple graphs, but make sure you understand them before the test. Would have got B or C without optional final.
if you have a problem with understanding accents and people being less then intelligent then do not take this class
VERY GOOD TEACHER. Smiles & laughs a lot which is sweet. I was a bit sceptical in the beginning but then started to like her a lot. She's much better and more intelligent than Morales, especially when it comes down to explaining concepts. Answers all questions and is very friendly & helpful. I would take her always again. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDABLE.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE professor. Do NOT take ECON 102 from her. WebPortal said that Morales was the teacher, but she only taught for half the semester and Ameudo-Dorantes taught the rest which SCREWED me over!!! Morales is the better professor. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH AMUEDO-DORANTES!!!
She's extremely helpful and sweet if you visit her OH! Test with written part is based on probs (from the book), multiple choice is from the slides. Make sure you review those and understand the graphs. I did Aplia and compared answers with my classmates which helps to get an A!
Honestly, if you can find a different teacher then do it. She is so difficult to undersand and on top of that boring. He test would be easy if she lectured better. Her accent is so strong it is distracting.
1 day a week course, attendance 10%, 6 homework assignments 30%, 1 Poster presentation 10%, 2 exams 50% (optional final could replace lowest exam score). her accent is not bad at all. tests can be hard. poster grade is mostly based on presentation and poster, not so much content. she does curve grades.
Lovely woman, extremely intelligent, interesting sense of humour. Subject itselt is not too easy, but she does everything to make you understand it!
I can say she might be one of the worst teachers I have come across in college life, and I'm a senior. She's nice, but she goes way too fast with a pretty thick accent. Her examples in class are terrible, and her tests are even worse. I was on a constant scavenger hunt looking through the book to learn anything. Don't take this class
Hard to understand. Homework is the worst part of the class because you have to get every question right and its not just completion
this should be an online class cuz i couldn't hear what she said and she wrote on the chalk board rather than used powerpoints for a 300 + class. very difficult to see and hear. the tests were pretty easy if you understood the aplia. another reason why it should be an online class (you teach yourself through aplia).
She's not all that bad. Some people can't get over her accent, and most of the problems w/in our class was the dimensions of the damn room, not her. Don't get freaked out when u guys start off w/ partial derivatives the first day of class, we hardly used them. Optional final, 1 group presentation, low text book use but u need it.
DO NOT TAKE HER! Strong accent, not helpful at all. Exams were OK, the aplia online assignments suck! Doesnt curve at all. I didn't a couple of more points, but grades are not negotiable at all. AVOID TAKING HER, IF YOU CAN!
EVERYTHING IS TRUE. This teacher is extremely unhelpful & rolls her eyes when you ask questions. I got 2 A's on 2 exams, a B+ on another, & a B on the optional final which didn't help at all because she takes your 3 highest scores. I am getting a C- in this class because of clicker pts & i failed to complete 3 hw assignments out of 12! THIS IS BS!
1) this website should allow you to leave longer comments cuz im not done. 2) AVOID HER. accent is thickkkk cannot understand a word she says. 3)make sure you do the aplia assignments
Good teacher and good powerpoints. Aplia assignments help out a lot. Takes 3 out of 4 highest exams. Only need 75% of clicker questions for full attendance points. Easy to zone out because of her accent. Study the powerpoints and Aplia questions and you'll do well on tests. I got all A's on the exams.
AVOID THIS TEACHER. She is extremely unhelpful and does not teach concepts well. This professor does not grade your exams and has her student TA grade them. If the TA has graded something improperly the teacher just says thats how the TA graded it and won't change your grade. Worst Econ professor at State
Mediocre professor. Her rasp of the English language is not 100% so she fumbles for words often. Easy class and she is very sweet.
dont take this class. she cant speak english at all so its a little hard to understand. she laughs like a hyena and it gets pretty annoying especially when ur trying to figure out the impossible test questions. dont take it.
This class is hard. Attendance is not mandatory but she always has clicker questions that count, so go for those. First exam I got a low F, she curved it so I got a D. Had to study a lot for the next exams and took optional final and ended up with a B-. Do the aplia hw!!! It does make a difference in the end!
AVOID if you can. Aplia assignments are the worst part of this class but do all of them and try your best because in the end, every single point matters and its based on your average score, not your best score. Aplia can make or break your grade in this class.
She has a strong Spanish Accent so don't take if you don't understand Spanish accents. The Aplia Assignments suck, because they count every time so be careful with your homework. I could handle the accent thought she was a good teacher minus the accent. I got an A in the class by studying her practice test and the Aplia Assignments.
I really liked this professor. At first you all think that she is hard to understand and this is a difficult class but then if you go to her office hours I assure you she is one of the best teachers. She really wants to help and see that everyone succeeds. But the first step has to be made by you.
Hardest class I have ever taken. I took so much notes, never missed a class, averaged a B on aplia and got a C in the class. Its not the teachers fault whatsoever, its just the aplia, tests, practice tests, lectures do not add up. I would study the practice test, (even went to A + review), vocab, and aplia, and lecture notes and the test would be s
Easy class for me. Best to have a friend to do homework with, helps when you get stuck. Final is optional. If you do well on all of the tests you dont have to worry about the comprehensive test.
AVOID. this course might as well be called Econ 102(Spanish course)... Her accent is so thick and she laughs like a hyena. She is not helpful at office hours whatsoever. She is a very nice lady, and she means well. However, her teaching style is difficult to grasp. Take another econ teacher if possible.
She is one of my favorite professors at State because I felt as though she knows her material very well. Her lectures are very important so it is a must to go to every lecture or else you will fall behind. I didn't go to A+ review, to her office hours, and I didn't take the 4th test (optional) but I still managed to get a solid B. Highly Recommende
She's a really nice lady but it is impossible to understand her accent. Literally couldn't understand a full sentence she would say. Test were difficult as well. I would avoid this class at all means.
If you have a hard time understanding accents, don't sign up for this class. She teaches concepts well and the book use is minimal. Make sure to go to class, because of clicker questions. Got an A- thanks to Aplia, and averaged on the midterms with a B. Optional Final which I didn't take. Take this teacher.
She is a huge accent, very hard to understand throughout lectures. Teaches the subject very well though. there is online homework due every sunday night. she uses the Clicker to take attendance, EVERYDAY!!. there are 3 exams and an optional final. she does curve most of the exams depending on how the class did. but overall recommend her class!
I like the teacher, hate the structure of the class. We the students teach the class as our project is to present the chapters. The quizzes and tests are short answer and the questions i feel are unclear, I seldom score more than a 4/6 score due to nitpicking and interpretation, on the tests ive received low scores as well. Its a Recipe for failure
Economics of Immigration. This lady knows her stuff. Class structure is strange. Student presentations every class period throughout the semester. 2 Midterms with optional final, 7-8 simple quizzes, 1 chapter reading presentation, 1 research project presentation, she grades participation and attendance. Overall seemed easy and I enjoyed this class.
Dont even take her Immigration class. Her quizzes and exams are unclear. The students teach the class. The final is optional if you somehow did well on the first two exams. I would NOT recommend you take the class since 6 of my friends and myself disliked the way the class was designed.
Good teacher but explains way too fast and doesn't really ask if help is needed. Tests are difficult and homework is not that bad. Overall a do-able class but somewhat difficult.
AVIOD this professor for this class. She has a heavy accent that makes it really hard to understand. I had to concentrate harder on understanding her than actually trying to understand econ. Got my first C in the class :(
This class is a translation, transcribing, and econ class all in one. Her accent makes it really hard to understand, attendance is mandatory because of clicker points, and she goes extremely quick. It was difficult to understand at the pace she taught at, but if you attend class, take notes, and do the homework, it's doable.
3 midterms and 1 optional final that are curved and each worth 20%. Aplia assignment is worth 35% and make sure to do it with a friend. Be sure to go to class everyday for the 5% iclicker points. Overall, class is easy if you study a lot.
She's tough to understand and you have to study a lot.
The main thing about this professor is that she has an extremely thick Spanish accent that makes understanding her very difficult, and goes through the lecture slides way too fast. I ended up using the book and (generous) study guides she provides to basically teach myself. Tests are multiple choice & curved and final is optional. I got a C+.
She is really hard to understand and does not give great examples at all, like its SO hard to even understand the concept. Do not take this class, it's a waste of time.
This class is impossible to get an A in. Tests are really hard. 3 midterms, and optional final. Her accent is REALLY difficult to understand. Aplia homework is assigned weekly due sunday, and its also difficult. Don't take this class if you don't have to.
I took her because people said it was easy to get an A in her class. IT IS NOT. Hard midterms and homework. Clicker question in almost every class. Try to take another Econ 101 professor.
Econ 380 -- The book is a must! The multi choice questions on the books web site, are like the quiz questions. The questions at the end of each CH are like the written tests. Focus on the book questions that she covers, as they are they ones most likely on the test. I would take this Professor again.
REALLY thick spanish accent so quite hard to understand. Would recommend sitting near the front if you want to do well. Clicker points will help you pass the class because tests are kinda hard but she curves it so it's easier. weekly quizz which is about an hour of work if you want to do well, this also brings your grade up a lot!!!
Her accent makes it impossible to pay attention. Exams feel like you are asked to multiply all knowledge you got from that class times 10, super hard. Says "okay" after every single sentence which is extremely unprofessional and annoying.
I would avoid taking this professor. She is a nice person and very understanding but her teaching style needs work. I learned from the work I did by reading the chapter and doing my own notes but I wasn't able to pass the exams. Homework, three midterms, one final, and clicker questions. I worked really hard and failed.
She's very friendly, helpfull and she's really into her research. I liked her and her way aof teaching a lot while it can be a little boring from time to time.
She is very nice and loves her job, but hard to understand because she has a strong accent. There is online homework every week and clicker questions the last 15 min of every class.
STAY AWAY!!! The worst professor I took this semester! You can't understand her, and she doesn't explain the material well. Micro is hard to begin with and she didn't make it any easier. You basically have to teach yourself and do lots of reading. Clickers required. Don't take her unless you absolutely have too.
Her study guides were almost identical to the exams. Numbers may be different but concepts the same. If you did them and the book questions, I don't think you could have a problem.
I'm not a fan of her knowledge, teaching technique, and would not recommend her as a professor.
It's really not that bad of a class. She teaches everything you really need to know for tests so you don't really need to read. Do the online practice problems before the homework. Uses clickers last couple minutes of class and give some room to miss class or homework.
She is a very nice woman I'll give her that, but when it come to what matters she is a bad professor. I ended up getting a 69% and she still woudn't round up my grade, ultimately forcing me to stay another semester at SDSU for ONE class. Homework is a huge 35% of your grade and it's extremely difficult. honestly just stay away. I HAD a 3.5 mind you
She is positive, cheerful, kind, and really helpful. Even though I am an international student, her accent didn't bother me that much. Its not that hard to understand. I got an F from her but that was totally on me. You just need to be an average student to get a B. Attend to her lectures, study for the exams and DO YOUR HOMEWORK. You're good to go
Mediocre teaching! Stay away. Makes your GPA go down
She is sweet and has a great personality but her teaching format is really bad. I can't really understand her sometimes because of her heavy accent but I can look past it. What is really annoying is that her handwriting sucks and I never know what she is writing during lectures. Make sure you try in this class.
The WORST teacher Ive had at state. She goes way too fast and does not even look up to see peoples hands when they have questions. She writes on a piece of paper for lectures, but she barely zooms in on the projector so nobody can see anything shes doing (even when people ask her every class to zoom in, she just does not get it). AVOID!
Think accent was tough, but she was nice. An optional final would drop a midterm score if you scored higher. Clicker points count for correctness. Curves every test. If you put in effort you'll be fine. I didn't watch a single online lecture in a hybrid course and I got a B+ without taking 101 first (I took 101 and 102 in reverse order)
This professor is by far the worst Econ professor on SDSU's campus. I took it hybrid and the homework was impossible to get 100%. Her accent is very strong and hard to understand. I took ECON101 after this class and it was insane how much easier economics can be with a better professor. If you have to take Econ take Cullivan!
