Good teacher, tests are easy to get A's as long as you study what she tells you to study, no more, no less. Labs are easy too.
Way cool......... Has a lot of chances to get an A. She is sweet and hot!
awesome teacher. very helpful, nice and sweet. do the extra credit and turn in all labs! it'll help your grade in the end.
Dr. Egan was an awesome lab teacher. SHe was extremely helpful, kind of looks like Hilary Swank too!
Dr. Egan is sooooooo nice and nice looking also. Her lectures are clear and if you're still confused about a topic, she'd help clear things up in an instant. Awesome instructor. Highly recommended.
GREAT TEACHER!
Very nice, and helpful.
I was very impressed
If anyone has taken BIOL 155 - Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology with Egan C P, please rate the professor.
Excellent lecturer. Very knowledgable and presents the material in an easy and understanding manner. Loves to receive feedback from her students and interacts with them even in a 200 student lecture hall. I highly recommend this class. She made the material very interesting.
look up Dr. Katie Egan. I'm not sure why the schedule put Egan C P. I'm taking her for Bio 200 and my schedule says Egan C P too.
Dr. Kate Egan is an awesome professor. Even though lecture is 3 hours long, she is able to make the material interesting and worth listening to. Her exams are straight foward, as long as you study the notes she provides. If you can't attend lecture, she even makes audio lectures available via the web.
exam consist of short answer and multiple choice. there are 3 exams and 1 final examination.
Very willing to help students. She posts her lecture online in the form of video. Study her lecture notes carefully and often to do well in her class. Take advantage of her limited extra credit opportunity.
You take 3 quizzes and a comprehensive final.3 homework assignments and 2 5pt extra credit assignments. She gives you study guides for each test. All the material you need to know is in the workbook. She is very straight forward and i would recommend not going to class and studying and just coming for the tests.
She puts me to sleep.
Awesome Teacher! Very helpful and extremely nice. Will clarify anything. Just approach her. 4 Tests: straight from the study guide and book. 2 Practicals. Know the material and you will do fine. Make sure to take notes. Powerpoints are accessible online. Lectures arent mandatory but xtra credit is given randomly. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
kate egan is very approachable, helpful and makes class interesting. gives extra credit assignments. lectures available online. was late to class a few times. she's easy to look at too
She is a good teacher, she gets off tangent at times, but she commutes from catalina island, and teaches from 7-10pm, she knows her stuff =)
Great instructor. Had her both for pathophysiology and pharmacology, and I wish there were more like her. friendly, approachable, responsive, enthusiastic.
Awesome professor!!! she is very helpful, interesting and her lectures are great really makes you understand what she is teaching. 4 exams, weekly lab quizzes and 2 practicals. She gives study guides so if you do them easy A...it was a pleasure to have Dr. Egan as a professor HIGHLY recommend!!!
Dr. Egan is a good teacher: knowlegdable, relevant, & interesting. The material for Patho. was pretty hard, but Dr. Egan does help by curving the grades (85% = A, 75% = B, etc.). There are a couple of extra-credit assignments that you can take advantage of. Great class, I would take again. Even if it was 5 units. :)
Dr. Egan is a great instructor! Review the questions in the back of each unit in workbook - go to class and you'll do fine. She is very approachable and wants to help. Highly recommended. I just wish all bio instructors were so clear with their expectations.
Excellent teacher! Teaches straight from her workbook. Knows her stuff! The final is definitely harder then any of the other tests, so be prepared! She is very smart, and not to metion hot!
Eagan is the best, couldn't ask for a better teacher.
Fantastic instructor. Offers extra credit - take advantage of! Study the questions in the back of each chapter of workbook - many on test. A great example of what a college instructor should be.
Professor Egan is the best teacher I have ever had. She is energetic during her lectures and really makes certain that you understand what is going on. I had her for pathophysiology and pharmacology. Pharmacology I took during a six week summer course and felt that even though it was fast paced she really emphasized the important things to know!
She is a nice lady but sticks directly to the work book making it hard to pay attention to and hard to understand the material. She repeats "do you guys get it" 3 billon times and doesnt always wait for a response.
There is so much information for Prof. Egan to teach in such a short time that her classes can be overwhelming if you don't keep up with reading and following along. Other than that she teaches well, has a funny sense of humor, and is extremely helpful! Extra credit and make-up tests are always offered.
Dr. Egan was awesome, she is really interesting and easy to understand. Plus she has a good sense of humor. Her summer pharmacology class is very fast paced, but if you study enough you'll do fine. I hadn't taken physiology but I still got an A-.
The summer pharm class is great. You don't have to memorize a list of specific drugs, just categories of them. She is very straight forward about what she wants you to know. Study the power points. She has a good sense of humor and keeps the class awake even though the summer class seems to go on forever.
Dr. Kate Egan is the best BIO teacher I have had. Was a bit scared at first because I don't have any medical/bio background except high school. But she made it so interesting, easy to understand, and used real life examples. You need to be responsible adults though (read the book, study for quizzes, come to class)!
Dr. Egan was great. Very helpful and will always take the time to explain further; if needed. For A&P you need to be sure to use the Aris program. It helps.
She is a really good teacher. She explains things clearly and her lectures are pretty interesting. I think she is pretty easy too. She gives you a study guide of exactly what you need to study for her tests so you can get an A in her class. I did really well for the first 3 tests, but I totally stopped going to class and I didn't study so hard for
Pathophysiology is really tough! I had Dr.Egan for Pharmacology and got an A. I thought that Patho would also be easy, but I was wrong. Do not slack off in this class because the material is really hard to understand!
Easy to talk to, understanding, cuts you some slack, down-to-earth. She's helpful, but at the same time, very very very busy.
Dr.Egan is by far the best instructor that I have ever had! I had her for Pharmacology and Pathophysiology. Patho is definetely much harder! The trick to her classes is watch the videos a few times so you understand everything! I have recommended her to my friends and they also love her. I just wish that she could teach in the RN program!!!

Great teacher,Knows her stuff I got a B although an A is doable, I just didnt study much. Good class to take if you need a bio
Eagan filled in for our class bio 175. She was awesome! She explains everything very clearly. This is a hard class, and she made it interesting in her lectures. She taught our class plus her own, very dedicated!
Ms. Kate is absolutely knowledgeable in the science field because she covered our Physio ans still teaching other sciences (ex Pharma)..u couldn't asked for more! of course the class is hard like any other science courses..i recommend u to take her class..she's very helpful!
Very nice lady and helpful. She will explain things again and again until you get the concept of her materials. Responds to emails right away and very smart lady! she is one of the best teacher on GWC and i would love to have her again!
Taking pharmacology over summer was a lot of work, but Dr. Egan is a great teacher. She?s one of the most helpful and approachable professors that I have had so far at GWC. Take her if you can.
She's great. Really care's if you get it. Explains everything really well. Allows you 24/7 access to her powerpoint presentations online. Gives extra credit. awesome!
BEST professor ever!!
very helpful. study guide is very helpful goes over everything that is suppose to be on test. funny. give examples that are useful. i used the international edition for this class. same thing as the regular but a lot less $$. TAKE HER SHE'S AWESOME! lab practical she gives out a list. so just know your stuff and you can pass the lab practical
Dr. Egan is so chill! Her Pharmacology class is fun and you only meet once a week. She makes everything relate to your personal life, so it's so easy to understand all the info. Work online is easy, too. Simple and straight forward. This class also helped me understand other concepts taught in Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology!
Dr. Egan really explains everything you need to know for class. She posts lecture videos online so you can go back over the material at your own pace. The three homework assignments are not bad at all. I took this class during the summer and got an A. Dr. Egan is great.
Kate is the most amazing professor ever. Had her a few years ago in BIO 155 (intro to A&P)- completely prepared me to suceed in BIO 170 and 175. Just completed her Pharm class. Test difficulty?..Depends on if you're studied up and prepared. She provides great study guides and gives you everything you need to succeed if you do your part and study.
BIO 200- Pharmacology: 10 online assessments (worth 10 pts each = 100 total), 3 hw assignments (5 pts each = 15 total), 3 in class tests (100 pts each = 300 total), and a comprehensive final (150 pts); 2 extra credit opportunities (5 pts each = 10 total). Fun class, great teacher :)
Had her for Pharm and Patho. Extremely helpful- extra credits, online lecture videos, & easy homework/ assessments. She's really smart, pretty, and knows her stuff. Make sure to study and listen to the videos! Go to office hours (helps with the comprehensive finals). She's such a busy woman but she tries to help you and really wants you to succeed.
Dr.Egan is a great asset to Golden West College! I took her for Physiology, Pharmacology,& Pathophysiology! The material she taught is invaluable! As a beginning Nursing student, I feel very fortunate to have had Dr. Egan for my pre-reqs and co-reqs! She is very understandable, organized & fair! She is also always available for help!
This was a very organized hybrid class. 1 hour lecture/wk at GWC, and the rest of the lectures are posted online which is very convenient and easy to use. Test questions will all come frm those online lectures--be sure to do the study guide and study all the online assessments and ch. questions in the white book. I highly recommend this class/prof!
This class was fairly easy. The only frustrating part was that her online lecture videos were not that great. They were very confusing, and she talks extremely fast. The required text is a must for this class. Her test questions come straight from the textbook.
There are shortcuts in this class, she tells you what you need to do. She's very patient with students having a hard time. There are study guides for tests and practicals. Labs are surprisingly fun. Highly recommended. :)
She is a very smart teacher. First exam fairly easy. Second exam extremely difficult if you do not study hard.
good teacher
What does her syllabus consist of? How many quizzes and tests are there? Are the exams multiple choice, fill in the blank,and/or essay format? Assignments? Extra credit? Would someone give me feedback, please about her 16 week course?! Thank you!
Anatomy/Physiology; what does her syllabus consist of? How many quizzes and tests are there? Are the exams multiple choice, fill in the blank,and/or essay format? Assignments? Extra credit? Would someone give me feedback, please about her 16 week course?! Thank you!
Took her for Intro to Anatomy and Physiology. She is awesome. Very very very helpful and cares a lot. Study guides for practicals are amazing.
Ms. Egan knows her stuff and seems to live and thrive in the pharmacological world. The online/lecture hybrid is a very easy course, and convenient. Attendance isn't mandatory, so I rarely went to the lectures, but I did study the textbook and the online lectures. I thought her tests were very easy, and she did give a good amount of XC.
Great teacher, very clear, very detailed. I took the Summer course and had to drop, but I will take her agiain at 16 weeks. Pay close attention to book. Exams are not memorizing facts, but understanding practicality of the way physiology and medication's effect the body. Make sure you put aside seven hours just for the on line lectures for exam two
Finally, a Science professor who is easy to understand. Dr. Egan takes the hard subjects and compares things in terms that students can understand. She cares if you get the material and will find something that you can relate to in order to explain it.
She is very intelligent. Her lecture is interesting because she realates the material to everyday life so we can memorize it better. Very caring toward her students and always making sure they understand the material. I took the summer course 3 exam and 1 final. Be sure to study the practice questions at the end of each chapter and the online asses
crazy smart, and speaks very fast, very helpful and funny. It was very difficult for me. got a B. no "real" textbook.
Great Teacher !! Made class easy to understand but you need to study. Would love to take her as a teacher again.
Dr. Egan is hands down the best teacher at GWC and best i've had. She is not only very knowledgable with the material but very helpful and approachable. This was pharmacology, A&P is strongly recommended prior to taking this class, I had neither and received and A but needed a tutor. If you have any kind of option take your sciences with her.
Dr. Egan is fantastic. Knows her stuff and happy to explain it that is understandable. Very down to earth and funny. If every teacher were like Dr. Egan, I would happily pay the tuition increase(s).
GREAT, SMART teacher! She could teach at at an university if she wanted to! Class is fast-paced & has lots of info. A&P is recommended before taking it. 3 MC tests w/ free response, 7 homework assignments, 1 MC final. Offers EC! Easy class if you do the SGs, know the homework question content well, watch videos multiple times, and study in groups!
Not the most interesting class to me (Pharmacology) but she is a great teacher. Really focus on her study guides and you'll do awesome. Class is basically 3 homework assignments, 10 shorts quizzes, 3 exams and a final exam. She's very fair and a good teacher. Don't slack at any point, the class will build off of previous knowledge. I recommend!
Mandatory class only the first 2 days of class and the day of exam. If you took already Anatomy, Physio, and Micro, you will not need to go to her class at all. Just memorize the drug's name and mode of action and you'll be ready for exam. I never went to class and i got an A. Don't get me wrong, you still need to study.
Class isn't too hard unless you study. There are 4 exams, but the 2nd one is the hardest! Go to tutoring sessions, Will helps out a lot. Her Online lecture videos suck though. A but of "Um..." "Er..." and "Wait, sorry, I forgot what I was going to say." She needs to rerecord them for sure! She uses the same one from 2007-2008
she is GREAT TEACHER as long as you study her outline and book you should be fine
Eagan is a great teacher. She stops taking attendance early. All of her study guides are exactly what's on the test..sometimes word for word questions. She gave around 20 points extra credit and suggested Will Do for a tutor who is awesome for extra help. Definitely take her for an easy physiology class.
best professor. her voice might b annoying & she sounds like she had a little too much jameson the night b4 n she might lose her train of thought (a lot) during her lecture videos online but she never minded when i would email her in the wee hours of the morning trying to dispute my online assessment grades lol She's very knowledgable n awesome!
This class was so hard and time consuming. Not recommended if you have a full time job and no time to watch 4 or more 60-90 mins lecture videos a week.
This class is not easy and time consuming but she really knows her stuff. Do the study guides, gives EC, 4 exams, 6 quizzes, and assessments. she does say umm a lot and "do u guys get that". study hard becuz u need it for lab which is the same material word for word. study for exam 2 in and lecture a lot it was really hard.take her! I got an A
Dr.Egan is a great professor. Interesting class. She's very laid back. There's a lot of extra credits opportunities. Just read before labs and lectures. Do the study guides and do online assessments early.....Most quizzes and lecture exams have repeated questions from online assessments.....Follow along the study guide and u will get an ez 'A'!!
Excellent teacher and very knowledgeable. She'll consistently go out of her way to help students.
You might as well discard the instructor's email because she will not respond. The instructor seems to be able to hold a lot of information in her brain, but sometimes it seems she confuses some of that information and gives contradictory statements in live lecture versus the video lectures and/or the textbook.
Do all the study guides, read ahead, and do assessments. She is reasonable and by far the best biology teacher I've ever had in terms of realistic and reasonability.
very knowledgeable instructor. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Read the book, follow her study guide you will get A easily.
Was always quick about responding to my e-mails, answered questions after class, gave extra credit opportunities on exams and as homework. Easy A.
Amazing professor. Gives concise, interesting lectures and clearly really knows what she's talking about. She tests only on what she lectures, and most of the time she'll tell you explicitly what topics to study if she's planning to test on them. Highly recommended!
Hard.
Great Professor, very clear and extremely helpful. She goes out of her way to explain things and make sure the material is understood. Take her class!
I don't know why I took this class for my bio pre req lol. She seems really cool but I attended lecture less than 10 times I think. Her tests are challenging but she provides u with more than enough to succeed. Just do the study guides. She's not a bad looking gal either.
Dr. Egan is by far one of the best Biology professors I have ever had. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable in the subject, her passion comes through in lecture. Pathophysiology is a fascinating subject on its own, and she really owns it in class. If you pay attention in class, do the study guide and homework, there's no reason not to get an A.
Dr. Egan is a good teacher. Helpful and explains things well. Attending lecture not necessary, but helpful. Would take again.
Excellent professor, always provided answers to all our questions. Straightforward tests, material straight from PPT/lectures. Attend tutoring session by Will which guarantees a good grade.
Professor Egan was a doll! She makes labs interesting by tying in concepts to everyday life. Lab homework is easy, as are the quizzes. She never tries to trick you. What she teaches is straight forward and she wants you to understand overall concepts instead of nitty gritty details. Always ready to answer any questions. Definitely recommend!
Dr. Egan is a wonderful teacher. She is clear about everything, and explains well. She is very nice and helpful, study what she tells you. Do the extra credit, I forgot and could of had a higher grade if I had done it.
I love Dr. Egan! She's very down to earth, and can easily relate to students. Labs were all very fun and full of purpose! She is always willing to help, so don't hesitate to ask questions.
She is super sweet! I took her for Bio 100 and i wish she was teaching bio200 or bio220 because I would totally take her again! super helpful, and never made you feel stupid when you asked questions. I enjoyed class!
Amazing teacher really cares about her students and teaching always e-mails right away and answers all your questions
Great content in the class. She generally wants you to attend. You sign her attendance sheet. Lecture every class. Come from book. Tests are multiple choice with some short answer questions. Nice teacher!
Dr. Egan is an incredible teacher. There's a decent amount of hw and usually a quiz every week but she gives your everything you need to do well in her class. She posts the power points she uses for lecture online and her study guides go over EXACTLY what you need to know for the test. Show up, pay attention, do the study guides and it's an easy A
Fantastic teacher with a really passion and knowledge of biology. Interesting lectures, though she has a tendency to go off on certain tangents, but it usually is still closely related to the lecture topic. Lots of participation with homework due before the first class of each week, but fairly easy and clearly outlined work.
She is the absolute best teacher ever she makes sure her students are taken care of and understand the material. Very clear and concise in her teaching. And she tells the funniest stories in lecture as well as lab that coincide with the material!
This was my 2nd time taking biology and I took Catherine Egan this semester and Im happy to say I loved every second. She makes sure you understand the material, tells funny stories and shows true knowledge/passion for bio. I expressed to her that i have issues witht test taking and she did everything in her power to help me pass. LOVED HER.
Took her all Friday lecture and lab, and it was very good. You can tell she enjoys what she is talking about, and she makes class interesting. There is online homework, but it was not difficult. Exams are a multiple choice and short answer mix.
Extremely personable and charming, good-looking Professor( I am a straight female- it's OK to compliment)- Gives you lots of extra credits throughout the semester. I did 23 units (!!!) and still got a final grade of an "A" in both her lecture/lab-class. Easy tests that are derived straight from her lecture Powerpoints and lecture notes. Take her!
Professor Egan was one of my favorite professors by far. She is so passionate about bio and her love of the subject is contagious. She has a very upbeat tone which really helped me get through the three hour lecture. She even provided us with access to a free online textbook which was an extra bonus. I would 100% take her again.
Professor Egan is one of the most caring Professors that I have ever met. I had difficulty with pregnancy while in her class and she was there to help every step of the way. She did not add any extra stress. She is an effective professor and instructs you on what is important to know. She takes a unique approach to teaching. 100% recommend taking.
Her lectures are well thought & funny. She made everything easy to comprehend & she's always very patient with everyone's questions and will help you after class if you need it. Her study guides are true to the tests. The final is NOT all inclusive. The lab is 30% of the grade which helps a lot. There are extra credit opportunities.
She's flexible about class attendance. I personally would either attend her Saturday or Friday lecture, at my leisure. She uses a free online textbook and gives in-class study guides for students to use. I personally found the tests not bad (but they do make a % of your grade). And I found that she broke down and explained hard concepts well.
I loved taking this class with this professor. She is a very caring teacher, and makes sure you understand the lecture. She's the type of professor that gets into the lectures, instead of just reading off a power point. Her study guides are the notes to her exams, so make sure you study study study them!
For me professor Egan is one of the best professor in GWC. I took both her lab and lecture class, and so glad that I did. She always care and wants her students to get good grades. Her tests are all on the study guides, just study them carefully, it should be an easy B, try a little bit harder for an A. Highly recommend taking her class!
I took Dr Egan for Pharmacology over the summer. She is truly one of the best professors I have had the privilege of learning from . She really knows her stuff-her acumen is off the charts. At the same time, she is very accessible and cares about her students' success. Take her if you can.. She is as good as it gets.
I mean, class is obviously mandatory and it would benefit you to listen to the lectures because she is really good at diving deeper with what she is trying to teach. She talks extremely fast and goes off on tangents but she is overall a great instructor. Be prepared to receive "In-Class Study Guides" that you fill out during her lectures!
Shes the best teacher Ive had. So caring, exams and quizzes are straight forward. Answers all your questions, great at explaining, does not try to trick you or make the subject more difficult. Not hard to get an A. Much recommend EQ
She is a wonderful professor that i have had. She is so caring about your understanding. The quiz and exam are very straight forward as long as you study the power points. She is so helpful during tge exam also of you have questions. I had a language barrier but she understood and helped me alot. I love her. I recommend her 100 percent. NM
Took her for Physiology lecture and lab, and I have nothing but great things to say. You have to study to get an A but her tests are very fair and quiet easy if you review the material. Only HW is 5pt little quizzes on the lecture online, super easy and multiple choice. Definitely would take her again!
One of the nicest professors Ive had for science. Textbook is not necessary but lab manual is. Lecture tests are based on power points and quizzes only. Theres no lab practicals just labs and quizzes. She gives lots of extra credit as well, so its very possible to get a good grade without getting perfect scores on tests. Shes the best!
Professor Egan is very passionate in the way she teaches! I really enjoyed her class, and her exams and quizzes were really easy if you studied well for them! Make sure you look over the study guide and know the lectures in great detail to get that A! Easy A!
To summarize, she gives a lot of extra credit. Talk fast, goes off topic sometimes, but really caring and passionate. Do not try to memorize the material, try to UNDERSTAND. Memorization won't work in her class. She's really patient with the student, has a good sense of humor.
Professor Egan is SO smart. Any questions you have, she can answer. Her tests and quizzes were straight forward. If you do the work, youll get a good grade. She gives you every opportunity to do well.
She is a great professor, I am also taking her for Physiology and Pharmacology. One of the best professors I have ever had, gives extra credit on exams so don't ask for more. No book need it everything you need is on her power point very Fair Grader, if the class over all doesn't do well on a question in an exam she gives the points
I took Professor Egan for physiology and now pathophysiology. Pathophysiology was a LOT more difficult for me. Professor Egan is phenomenal however. She's brilliant and genuinely wants her students to succeed and do well. I've never had a teacher that is as fair as she is when it comes to grading and expectations. Take her. She's a gem.
doesn't respond to emails, doesn't prepare you for exams. this class should not be online and I strongly regret taking it. I feel I did not learn one thing I was simply just trying to pass.
Dr. Egan is a really amazing professor, probably due to her medical background. She gives thorough information during lecture, she often goes on tangents during lectures but most of them are really interesting. Since the second half of the semester was online, she was really communicative and responded to emails rather quickly. Recommend taking her
Dont take her, especially if you are taking her online. She stutters so much in her videos which make her seem like she does not know what she is talking about half the time. She barely offers extra credit. Want your grade to to be an A? Learn the material on YouTube t getting As on all her exams because she has no sympathy
Catherine Egan is a wonderful professor! I took biology, physiology and pharmacology with her, and each class has been such a rewarding experience. She cares for her students and wants the best for them.
I took her intensive 6-wk Summer course (during COVID) so this was EXTRA challenging. Don't recommend working. Fall/Spring are likely easier. Study AT LEAST 3-6 hrs everyday. Good lectures/labs. Exam & Quiz heavy! Go to her Q&A sessions w/ Q's prepared! Heavy concepts so use YTube, Khan Academy, etc. She's knowledgeable, responsive, generous, nice.
It's a hard class but put in the work and you'll do fine. She offers study guides, reading guides, tutoring, and is quick to respond through email. She is very clear in what she wants you to understand. I wish there were more professors like her. Most of the time I studied her power points but read some chapters for more in-depth information.
Long lecture videos up to 3 hours for some modules. Zoom wasnt mandatory so I never went. Study guides are helpful but will get you a C or B on the exam. You need to study from the homework and slides if you want an A. Gave us 25 points extra credit and extended exam/quiz dates for working students. Very independent class gotta put in the work.
Physiology is hard enough, but taking it online with no mandatory zoom/ classroom meetings means your'e practically doing it on your own. You have to be very self motivated to get through the hours and hours of recorded lectures. You do not want to get behind. Study the lectures/slides, do the extra credit and study guides and you will pass.
Lectures are incredibly long and filled with unnecessary information sometimes. She's not very good at teaching online but maybe she was better in person. Likes to go off on tangents and her study guides are a hit or miss. The exams were okay as long as you put in the extra time to read the book. Take this class if you like teaching yourself.
Pharmacology wasn't that bad - a lot of quilts for her class are online that help to study. I followed the study guides, what she went over in zoom and will probably end up with a solid B. Homeworks are easy and overall the class was not that bad. Just review what she goes over herself and that is what is most likely on the test.
Had the privilege of taking Dr. Egan for physiology fall sem. Her lectures are great and she goes over everything you need to learn for the exams. If you put in the work youll get an A. Dr. Egan is truly passionate about teaching and it makes a huge difference to have a professor that actually cares about you succeeding. She goes above and beyond!
Lecture is full of unnecessary info. Study guide actually does not help when she gives out what is not in it. That really confuses me if I should study only what she put in the study guide or just everything. There's no other Prof teaching this class at GWC anyway. No choice.
Lecture videos was recorded in 2017. WTH!!! Science needs to be updated every year.
Well-structured class covering many Pharm concepts. Her Lectures are thorough & well explained. I mostly studied from those. LOTS of material so must be rdy to study hard. Quizzes & labs were tough but manageable. Tough exams so must take seriously. This course has been useful for me in Nursing School so I recommend keeping your notes. Some E.C.
Her class is well structured and organized. You have a clear understanding of how this online course works without having to ever talk to her directly. However, her lectures are horrible. The content is all over the place and she just seems to be a terrible speaker. Study guides only overwhelm you with information, not worth it. Disappointed.
Omg! This professor reads her lecture from the book in all her recorded videos. Unbelievable. How could a professor read from the book during lecture, while the student cant open a book during an exam.
Aweful! She reads all her lecture videos from the book. Its an online class, We dont see her reading it, but comparing her words during lecture from the book is exactly the same! Unbelievable! This is prof is somewhat like a student who cheats in class. Dont take her, she's not a good prof during online class.
Amazing amazing amazing professor. She knows her stuff. Shes got great communication. Clearly is passionate about her career and students. I like get so much im taking her again for Pharm.
It seems like she overwhelms you with a ton of information, many which are completely unnecessary, because she can't organize all the content herself. Sometimes she reads straight from the book and when she explains something herself, she just keeps on going on and on, and of course, your time is wasted. Terrible lectures, period.
Her exams are extremely hard, the exam averages would be C's and close to D's and she refuses to curve. She mentions people fail her exams every year, so why don't you change your teaching style? Her lecture videos are from 2017 as well. So many people dropped with W's because this class just felt impossible and useless.
This was one of the toughest classes I have ever taken so far. Her exams were very challenging and little information from her lecture/PowerPoints was on it. The exams required a lot of critical thinking, so you basically have to know the material 100%. She never curved any exams and the class exam average was always C's and close to D's.
Pharmacology is not an easy class in general so requires LOTS of studying. She uses study guides for her exams but i didn't use them. Her lectures can be confusing but Homework is easy and open note quizzes come from her PowerPoints. You must know the material to do well on the exams. I used flashcards and did well.
One of my favorite professors! Took her previously for physiology and again for pharmacology. This class requires A LOT of study time so be ready to fully commit. My advice would be to know her lectures 100% because her exams require critical thinking. Dr. Egan in an amazing and caring professor! Truly an admirable person :)
Professor Egan cares about her students. She is willing to work with you and accommodate so you can do well. I took the 6 week summer class and it was tough, so be prepared to do a lot of work and put in the effort.
I took the summer class and worked part-time. Wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be and the critical thinking aspect of the exams aren't that bad compared to nursing school exams. You really have you know and understand things than just memorize. She's super accommodating and there to help you.
Dr. Egan is a very good lecturer. She accommodates to students as needed. Her exams are not super hard and she gives many opportunities for extra credit. She do expects you to understand material rather than just memorizing. Everything you need is on the slides, just read as a supplement to understand.
She rambles on her lecture videos and information is not streamlined / all over the place. You should not have any other commitment for the summer term to be able to keep up. Her questions are quite tricky so be sure to read carefully. Nevertheless, she is very knowledgeable, kind, and accommodating.
She takes forever to respond to emails. Each unit is HEAVY lecture material. Exam heavy and very few HW assignments. Her videos are from 5/10 years ago. Her video audio tends to glitch out and is barely audible at some point. Her exam includes free response questions.
I really loved this professor! She really cares about her students and wants you to succeed in her class. She is very, very knowledgable in Pharmacology and explains things in length to help you understand. Her lectures are long but informative! Very little homework assignments, your grade is basically made up of your tests. Very accommadating!
She provides opportunities to make up for her heavy lectures. She rambles on her lectures which can get annoying and can make watching her really long videos even tougher to get through. Someone please her edit her lecture videos/re-shoot it, she is such a smart & caring person it's a shame her lecture videos are painful to watch
Even though I got an A in her class, I always felt anxious and worried while taking this class. Because she would like to provide us with tons of information that we need in the Nursing program, her lectures are lengthy and painful. My advice is to make your own summary in every unit. It will help you a lot when you take her cumulative final exam.
6 weeks for physio is INTENSE. The way Dr. Egan set up the subject material in lecture, makes sense why her lectures are long. Listen to lecture and take notes on her lecture slides. Than as review do her study guide. Get key concepts solid, her exam questions are a bit detailed but you can do well if you have the concepts solid. Sweet professor.
How in the world does she have a 5/5? Her videos and lectures are so painfully long. We should be given 5 credits instead for 3 for this course. She uses videos from 6 years ago. I have never disliked a class this much. If you can memorize all 10-15 ppts for one exam, then take it.
Currently taking Dr. CE she is a great physiology instructor in a 6 week time frame. But luckily, they offer this class online in the summer. A lot of flexibility doing online work, but it is still a lot though. She is great with details and allows notes during exams, however watch the due dates!! In 6 week courses, it can sometimes throw you off.
In 2021, This class really discourage me. Pharmacology harder when you are taking it the first time. It was tedious and I had to ask"why can't I retain any information". If you are taking Pharm first time and really want to learn. DONOT TAKE THIS CLASS bc her teaching skill will ruin your confidence and don't prepare you anything for the future.
Dr. Egan's class is intense, but engaging if you put in the work. Lengthy lectures require diligence, but she offers great support. Unstuckstudy was a game-changer for my study prep - highly recommend alongside other resources like flashcards.
She is a good teacher and person
She was the best professor ever, I was scared of physiology because of all the rumors but she gives so many chances to pass and is a relaxed grader. I had an amazing time in her class but you have to put in the same amount of work and effort.
Dr. Egan is an okay professor. You learn a lot in this course. Just make sure to stay on track of the McGraw Hill assignments as they are time consuming.
I love this teacher. If you want to get inspire by science enroll in one of her classes.
This professor cares about her class to the point where she holds everyone back if one person can't understand. I have an A in the class right now and it's honestly the easiest A of my life, but this professor is awful. I have never disliked a class so much in my entire life. Take the free A. This class is designed to be against good students.
Dr. Egan is absolutely amazing for this introductory pathophysiology class. I really enjoyed watching her lecture videos for the most part. Grade is based on learning discussions, varied assignments, and exams proctored via Respondus. Make sure to study for the exams because the material is quite detailed. Overall, I definitely would recommend her.
Dr. Egan is great for this class. Her lecture videos really help. Grade is based on exams that are proctored via Respondus and a variety of small assignments like discussions, quizzes, and lecture assessments. Make sure to study for the exams because the material is a lot. Overall, great professor and would highly recommend.
Professor Egan doesn't provide PowerPoint, but rather suggest that you read the book. I've never experienced that with other science courses. Her lectures are hard to follow Because she rambles. The test consist of mainly essay questions and she grades you on how you write it, not the content. I think she tries, but her teaching style is not for me
This professor is very caring and does try with her students. However, some things that I do not like about the class is not giving us slides. I need slides or some sort of note when I am following along with a lecture so I didn't even watch her lectures because they're so hard for me to understand. Please give us the slides!!!
she's pretty easy-going, but like other said she does not provide slides for the lectures. I was able to just read the book and take notes that way I think she's good at taking large contact concepts and breaking them down.
Her lecture style feels much more like rambling, difficult to follow along and grasp onto what she's trying to teach (no slides provided either). Textbook not mandatory but no matter what kind of notes I took, it felt like the exams were much more detailed and unrelated. Stucture of assignments felt unengaging even they're meant to be engaging
Professor Egan is an amazing teacher she is very understanding and accommodating she allows open notes on tests but be ware the tests are long and the essay questions are hard and the more notes taken the better she always answers emails and any questions as well
She was a decent professor. Her lectures were often difficult to follow because they were long and she tended to ramble. However, her assignments, labs, and tests were fair, and she offers plenty of opportunities for extra credit. I wouldn't take her again if given the opportunity because of her teaching style.
Would not take again
The professor is nice and kind. However, the video were very long and painful to watch, and the information was presented in a confusing, mixed-up way that made it hard to follow. She didn't provide PowerPoints, which made it more difficult to understand the material. The exams didn't clearly reflect what was taught. I wouldn't take this class again
