Excellent professor! Willing to help any student who wants to understand the material. She is extremely enthusiastic about Anthropology, which really helped me to stay focused on the material.

mrs. fuentes is a great professor. she really wants you to understand the topics and is always willing to help you. she loves the subject ans makes it fun to learn. i would absolutely reccomend her. also, make sure you purchase the coursepack from the bookstore...it has ALL of the lecture power point slides in it so it helps when studying!!!

awesome teacher: her style was great because most anthropology teachers are biased about what they have to say, but she respected everyone's opinions, liberal or conservative. she is also very helpful and is more than happy to answer any questions you have. BE SURE YOU BUY THE TEXT BOOKS

Professor Fuentes is a great teacher. She knows what she's talking about and she goes out of her way to help you in any way. Attendence isn't mandatory and you can probably get by while skipping a couple of classes. Make sure you get the coursepack with all her slides and read the book though. Great teacher!

Professor Fuentes is awesome. She is really clear and totally willing to answer any questions you have. Be sure to buy the coursepack at Grey's, or you'll be writing until your hand falls off. Take her!

She's really nice, cares about what she teaches, doesn't take attendance. Just read the course material, try to be in class, go over the exam reviews, etc. 3 exams, 1 project = total grade. Book helps a lot with exams. Oh, and don't be late... she doesn't like that very much. My advice: better never than late.

Really has a passion for this subject and that helps understand it. If you're going to be late don't bother showing up- she flip out. Class lectures were def. useful on the tests, but overall easy to begin with.

This class is super easy. I went to class the day before and the day of the tests and I have an A in the class. Just make sure that if you aren't going to class that you do most of the readings and really know her study guides. The test aren't cumulative. I learned a lot despite not ever attending... and she's a really good teacher.

She's a sweet lady and very willing to help you, but this subject is the worst. I can't believe people major in ANTH. Ugh. I guess they have far more interest in it than I do; I found the class to be boring most of the time. She does what she can with it, though.

Fuentes teaches in a very straight forward lecture style. If you buy the course pack, then you pretty much have all the basic notes. Assigned readings from the text books show up on the tests (which are not cumulative), as well as various info from lectures/notes. Tests are very simple and easy - multiple choice. Sweet, knowledgeable professor.

I wasn't interested in Anthropology before taking this class. I took re-took it to correct a past mistake. She is awesome, what more can I say. She is fun and interesting. She enjoys her own class. If you get a chance take her course, you won't regret it.

Easiest A I've ever earned. Attendance is not mandatory. I rarely went to class on days other than exam days and still made A's on every test and the final. Her lectures are interesting though and provide extra explanation that is not in the course pack. But everything you need is in the course pack, study that and you'll be fine.

Please do not buy the book. I REPEAT DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. Just buy the course pack ($6) and study from it the day before the exam. But go to the lectures because you learn so much (you could make an A without going, but I learned so much)! She is very knowledgeable and omg I wish all of my professors lectured like her. This class was a pretty easy A for me. Her lectures were the only ones I could pay attention to this semester and she is a nice, funny, and knowledgable teacher. Many people say not to buy the book but I actually used the Park textbook and it made me much more confident, and I made an A on every test. You can read about the Forest people online.

Its a very easy class. I didn't go to most of the lectures because we had a notebook with all the slides on it. If you study that notebook before the exam you'll get an A. Some test questions are about the reading but won't harm your grade. There's a project that will take a few Fridays to complete but its the easiest project ever!

Fuentes is AWESOME! If you can't take a full on lecture class don't do it, but she literally starts at the time and tries to end at the right time. Very interesting class, DO NOT BUY THE BOOKS. I aced every exam and the project without them, and sit back and enjoy her class man, she's very funny and loves what she does!

Professor Fuentes has a great speaking voice and adds humor to her lectures. Books are not necessary AT ALL. She has like 2 questions per test related to them but read a summary instead. The movies are also pointless. Buy her course pack, you'll get an AB on her tests and you don't need to go to class if you have it but class is enjoyable anyway.

Didn't know anything about Anthropology before this class, now I'm considering it as a minor! She's clear, funny, and makes what is typically a dull subject and makes it fun! Textbook is optional but helpful. Some days are movies or documentaries and can be dull but even they have a purpose! Take this professors class!

By far the easiest class of the semester. Her lectures are quick and to the point. Textbook readings are "required" but I stopped reading after the first test and still achieved high A's on the rest. Honestly, just sit back and enjoy the lectures and you'll get an A.

You can tell she really has a love for anthropology. She's nice and keeps the class entertained. She knows her stuff and wants students to succeed. Her tests aren't terrible and there's extra credit. She shows videos in class too. Try not to get too bored with those!

She emails and updates us on everything so no one misses a test or assignment. She's not a real tough grader and if you email and ask her why you didn't get a good grade, she replies and has a good explanation. I would definitely take her again. The workload is not much compared to other online classes.

I thought this class would be easy by what I read in the reviews, so I slacked on the first half of the semester. I started off very bad. I realized that I actually had to work for a good grade, I actually started participating in class. She was a very good lecturer. Luckily, after a bad start, I still managed to get an A. Focus, and you'll pass.

Professor Fuentes is amazing! She is very diligent in responding to emails and is very helpful when asked! She gives the information in a very clear and easy manner to follow and understand if you pay attention and read the required documents and texts. She gives very detailed feedback especially if you are confused about the topic. Great!

Best professor I've ever had, Dr. Fuentes is very engaging and knows what she's talking about. Is great at explaining things, is very patient and passionate. She gives 5 bonus points on every test, plus a 6 point extra credit question that she specifies the answer to in class (so people who attend class regularly get extra points.)

Took her class for my social science and I'm glad I had Fuentes as my professor. Her lectures can be long, but having the course pack helps by saving A LOT of writing. She also gives an extra credit question on all of the tests that she normally goes over during class, so if you show up, you know what to do for the extra credit.

Nice and passionate about Anthropology. Easy B, but not easy A considering you only have 3 tests. Bomb one, you're done. Don't have to go to class to pass. A lot of videos. Cool class. Don't recommend buying any of the books. Buy the course pack.

greta prof, she is so professional when it comes to class, explains well, lets you know what readings need to be done. be prepared to read a lot and understand it.

By far one my favorite professors. She is extremely friendly and always on time. You only have 4 grades in the class with 3 tests and a writing assignment. If you just study the notes that she gives you, it's an easy A. Tons of extra credit is offered on all tests.

Grades solely on 3 tests and a project each test has 5 point curve and the bonus question is worth 6 points which she gives the question and answer to In class gives other test questions during lectures Lectures are extremely interesting final is not cumulative and also has 11 point curve like the other 2 tests

One of the best professors!

She is fantastic, she answers all questions you ask in the most detailed way and often connects her lecture to everyday examples. She has 4 grades total for this class; 3 tests and one Community Action Project that takes place for two weeks($18). All you need for this class is the coursepack ($8) and the Parks Text ($20+). The best professor I have taken this semester. She is very helpful and wants her students to past. She tends to repeat her self a lot, but NOT in a bad way. She does this as like a freebie when it comes to take the test. Three tests, and one community action product were the only grades for this course. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Fuentes. AMAZING

I love Dr. Catherine. Shes one of the best and caring professors at UNCC. She always reminds her students to study, about projects and exams. Her exams are multiple choices and with 11 points extra credit. Take her class and youll like her.

There are daily readings, PowerPoints, (sometimes) videos, and assignments - along with a required novel. This can be difficult to keep up with, but the material is very interesting and helpful for the exams. Despite the amount of material, I learned A LOT in this class and I would definitely recommend this professor.

She is my favorite professor so far. She has three tests & one paper. The paper is so easy to write and the tests are fairly easy. She gives out test questions and the exact answer in class so its beneficial for you to show up to class. Her lectures are interesting & she is happy to explain if you don't understand. Her final is NOT cumulative!

I enjoyed Dr. Fuentes' class a lot! Her class can get kind of repetitive but hang in there, its not that bad. She is very caring and wants to see all her students do well. No tests, just discussion posts every week and two major papers. She is a very lenient grader so you shouldn't have a problem passing this class. Take her if you get the chance!!

Her class is delightful, my favorite and Im a senior! This class is very opinion based thats not hard to follow readings, basically do the discussion posts and somewhat skim/read the articles and you have an A. She gave up to 50 points of extra credit.. this professor is amazing and understands students needs.

very approachable and friendly. quiz every week on the lectures/readings. i didnt use my textbook and made an a in the class. exams arent too bad, uses lockdown browser but no webcam. it was asynchronous so you really have to plan out the work yourself. lectures are a bit lengthy and time consuming but some quiz questions relate back to lectures

Cleary very intelligent and self-aware instructor. Even though this is only a gen ed requirement for me, I enjoyed what I learned and it was not a burden on my week at all! We were not required to attend class and she had lecture videos over everything preposted for every week and a very clear course schedule. I chose the latter.

Has all the material online as well as lectures. Each unit has 3-4 weeks worth of work that's all due in 1 day before exam so you can do it whenever. All quizzes are 5 questions and super easy, exams on lockdown but no camera. Overall not too hard I got an A with only taking notes on power points, overall very easy. She is always available too.

Literally the epitome of the perfect professor. She literally wants to see her students succeed. She has unlimited amounts of extra credit and is super responsive to emails very quickly (even on weekends). She will extend due dates and gives buffer points on EVERY exam. Lectures are engaging, insightful, and easy to understand.

Dr Fuentes was a breath of fresh air. I had her for my 8 am and she was always very upbeat and ready to go, even when it was so early. She encourages students to ask questions and to challenge her. I absolutely love Prof Fuentes. She really cares about her students to the point of when my high grade of a 97 on our first exam dropped to an 84 on our second exam, she reached out to me and offered her help and office hours. All her classwork and tests are very straight to the point and don't make you second guests. Would recommend!!!!

LOOVE Pr. Fuentes. I would take her again if I had the chance. In total all 3 exams are worth 80% of the grade which can sound scary but if you pay attention to the lecture videos she posts, you will be fine. She gives you about 3 days to take the exams along with giving extra credit. She's also very understanding and is there if you need any help.

Her course is versatile to where you can learn at home, in person, or both! I liked her lectures and thought they were interesting. She gives plenty of extra credit and wants her students to pass.
