She's a nice teacher!!!

Ms. Gong is a super nice teacher. She is also really laid back. She is very willing to help her students and wants you to do well. Only prob I can think of is she speaks quietly... but other than that, I would highly recommend her. Atleast for trigonometry.

She is one of the best teachers on campus. she kicks butt when it comes to teaching. She takes her time with students and helps them out whenever they have a question. She also stops in stop to make sure that all students understand the material. She is the total opposute from Rinkel.

SHE'S A REALLY NICE TEACHER, AND HAS ACTUALLY HELPED ME TO UNDERSTAND MATH. I KNOW EVERYONE HATES RANDOM QUIZZES AND RANDOM HW TURNING IN DAYS, HOWEVER, IT MADE ME DO MY WORK AND TRY AND UNDERSTAND IT. ONE OF THE BEST MATH TEACHERS.

Ms. Gong is the best teacher ever. I took her over the summer, and I got an A. She makes you want to do well in her class. I wish she was teacher MA 170 :( This teacher is in a tie for my all time favorite teachers. Take her, you will not regret it.

I loved Her!! Her class is not super easy, but she has great lectures, and really cares about her students, she helped me a lot, and I totally recommend her to anybody!!

She is a very nice person. As for her class, some say it easy, some say it hard. I think the tests are OK, not that hard, but she gave little bit too much homework. She explain everything very clear. Before each exam, she use her own time to help student.she did not get pay for it. GOOD TEACHER

shes pretty cool...if you're hard of hearing you might have trouble. also, if your class is an hour and 20 minutes long, she'll lecture for an hour and 20 minutes.

She is a very good teacher. I suggest getting her for math 148.

shes a great approachable teacher and she makes sure everyone gets whats she doing by giving out worksheets in class and coming around to everyone and helping them or giving encouregement

she's very very helpfull, she will help you any time, she always remind class to see her if we have problem in the sucject, i recommend her strongly, oh ya the best thing is the way she teach, JUST TAKE HER and you will know HOW FUN IS MATH

Good teacher, explains everything clearly. Alot of homework and she collects it randomly. You just have to really practice and do all the homework and show up to every class and it shouldnt be too hard to pass. She does make it easy to understand.

Ms Gong is AWESOME! If you have trouble with math she will bend over backwards to help, even on her lunch break. If you're a slacker, forget it!

She is a way cool teacher. She's always up for questions. Answers them clearly. She does give a lot of homework, so if you're trying to slide by and not learn the material this isn't the class for you. But if you're willing to put in the time you'll Ace the class like.

She was always very nice to everyone in my class. if you are a good student, she will appreciate you sitting in the front row. i absolutely Hate math, but she made it much easier than it had always been for me. its easy to stay on track if you just do the homework and classwork.

She is so helpful, when you don't understand something she will break it down for you in a way that is so easy to understand it's like a light clicking on in your head. There is a lot of hw and you have to pay attention. She gives pop quizzes but they aren't a huge grading factor. I like her, she's nice and down to earth.

Attention Horrible Math Students like myself!!! This is the teacher to take if you don't understand math very well!! Math is my worst subject and thanks to her I actually understand college level algebra! I passed with a B (I would have gotten an A if I did homework, which is very little of your grade). She is VERY nice, great teacher!!!!!

If you do the homework you will get it and pass.She will randomly collect hmwrk & it can make a whole letter grade difference. Tests are fairly hard but she will help you every step of the way. It isn't an easy A but with all of the help she offers its doable.Attend! If you miss less then 2 days u can drop a low test grade.She is so approachable!!!

Mrs Gong was a very good teacher. She explains everything good but shes always there! never misses a class. Homework is randomly collected. but all in all she is a good teacher and i would recommend taking her.

She helps a lot!!! I liked her way of teaching so much thar I'm taking her again next semester for 150. She goes over the hw with you and answer questions while she is doing the problem for the whole class to see up in the board that helps a lott. Also she gives a study guide for every test. Only 4 test the whole semester! She's great!

All I have to say is...the women is brilliant. There is nothing I can't stand more than a teacher who doesn't know their own subject. She knows math like it's second nature for her. Ms.Gong is incredibly bright,helpful and kind. Just do your homework! She gives outlines for the tests,extra time if you need it too. I sooooo wish she would teach 170

I agree with what others wrote about her. She is so nice and helpful. She explains everything clearly and gives a lot examples so that everyone understands it.I do not like math at all; but she makes the class learnable

Honestly she is one of the best math instructors ive ever known!!! Knows the material and will answer any question with ease and really shows you how to work out all the problems. She does give a fair amount of hw but you can finish it in no time after she explains it!!

VV are you crazy she the most down to earth professor ever! she seriously goes out of her way to help her students. and attendance is mandatory in most classes... its college time to be responsible and go to class, thats why you signed up and paid! BEST MATH TEACHER! TAKE HER!

I have taken Mrs. Gong awhile back. I have to say I couldn't have passed a Math class ever, without getting my first "A" in her class. She is wonderful. I worked my hardest, and she was very supportive and understanding. I could not be happier and if I could take her for advanced Math classes, I would take her in a heartbeat.

My only complaint is that she would rarely collect the homework. Other than that, Ms. Gong is a good professor. Take her if you're willing to put forth a lot of effort in your homework with the grade only being reflected by tests/quizzes.

Very good and understand teacher. Will take the time and help with any problems concerning her courses. Her test grading process is a bit slow, but other than that she is a good professor for those who are willing to give a little effort to getting an A.

This is the second time I've taken one of Mrs. Gongs math classes and although she is pretty tough, her classes are really helpful when it comes to really understanding the course. If your looking to take her she's extremely helpful and takes much of her own time to help you out if you need it. She's a great teacher, just be prepared to do the work

She's awesome. She is very helpful. I'm not that great in math and she definitely made it easier for me to understand. I felt very comfortable in her class and she will always answer any question I had, I was never confuse or lost because she was always there to help. And the class worksheets were also very helpful.

Gong is the best!! Wow, she can really teach, and knows her stuff. I like the way she goes out of her way to teach students. I was happy to be in her class. Unfortunately I did not put as much effort as I should of, so I would have to retake this class. Her test are a bit hard, but if you study and ask questions you should be fine.

Very helpful and offers a lot of practice. you do have to be willing to help yourself though. she wont do it for u. her tests and quizes are very reasonable. theres a lot of homework but she gives u plenty of time to do it. i took this in summer so the class is accelerated and condensed but i am able to handle it b/c of her amazing teaching style

I took her class in the summer and she was great! She's such a great teacher and is there to help you in any way she can. Her test are fair and homework is sort of rough but it's easy. Her online homework is such a drag but it helps you solve the problems. Great teacher, I totally recommend her!

took Math 150. Homework was constantly given, never graded, but by doing the homework the tests were easy. Exact questions that were on the homework were used on tests. Do your homework, takes your tests, guaranteed pass. Oh and everything was worked out of the book so you NEED it.

Took her for Fall 2012. She is very helpful and explains everything thoroughly. She assigns homework but doesn't grade it. If you do the homework and ask questions you will pass. She is very nice and is always open to help her students. I definitely recommend this professor!

Most helpful math teacher I've had so far. I struggle with math alot , but she is so helpful and very understanding and she teaches in a very organized matter. Also uses My Math Lab which I loved because it had so many tools to help you understand your homework. Awesome teacher !!!

I am in the final weeks of this class and I have never been as confident in math as I am now! majority of that confidence is credited to Ms. Gong. she is very helpful and will move the tests around if she feels we need more study time! definitely taking her class next semester for MA 150.

She was very clear during class and was patient with teaching. She understood peoples questions and weaknesses and worked with them to achieve a good grade. I highly suggest Ms. Gong.

Lots of homework that she doesn't usually collect. Does give partial credit on test answers. Wants you to ask questions but sometimes embarrasses you if you don't get it. Hated not knowing how I was doing in class because she doesn't post grades throughout. But, she's very nice, patient and will answer questions in class and after.

Out of all the years I've taken math, Ms. Gong is the best! She's really helpful and understanding. If you do the homework she assigns & ask questions about problems that you don't understand, ask her and you will Definitely pass the class. I've never had a good grade in math & I passed her class with an A in the Fall 2012! Highly Recommend Her!!

I'm one of those ppl who really isn't good at math..even the easiest concepts confuse me, and I genuinely try. Took Ms Gong's class and she was a Godsend with all the chances gives you to make up work, it's really impossible to fail her class unless you really don't care! I would totally recommend her and can't wait to take her for 150.

Gong is a great professor she comes across strict and assigns a lot of homework the first couple weeks to weed out the students that don't want to work. She is willing to meet with you during her office hours if you need any extra help and is very caring, if you show the effort she will take time to really help. TAKE HER!

Awesome math teacher ! Very helpful and clear about the lessons, but this class will keep you busy because theres online homework and from the book as well. Some chapters seemed challenging but Gong makes them easy and understandable. TAKE HER!

She helps but can get frustrated with you if you don't get the material. She is tough to take. homework is on mymathlab and im assuming we have to learn it their. Expects us to know some of the steps already when she is lecturing. I mean if shes teaching how to do it she should do it step by step. I hate the pop quizzes that's what got me.

LOTS OF HOMEWORK!!!.Expect average of 35 questions per night, every night (this was a Mon-Thurs class) Will give you partial credit on quizzestests. No matter how stupid your question, answered without condescension. 90% of work done online, little book use

Math 30 can be taken for citrus college credit, but not transfer credit She's super nice, allows you to make up assignments you weren't there for can't miss more than 3 days Buy the online access code, not the book

This class was by far the best beginning algebra class that I have ever taken. Professor Gong allows you to asks questions if you need clarification at the beginning of class and also will stay after class if you need help. She will take the time to help you personally if you need it. She explains everything so well!

Gives quizzes every week, i took math30 in the summer, it is very tough expect alot of homework but tests are easy, make sure to print out extra sheets of homework she has on blackboard for extra practice. ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

I am so happy I took Math 130 with Professor Gong. Math has never been my strong suit, but after taking this class with her I discovered I am good at math and I even like it! There is a lot of homework online, but if you do it the day it is assigned it is manageable. I highly recommend her to anyone who feels like they suck at math! She is amazing.

Professor Gong is very reasonable and understanding. She has extended homework for us several times and has given us a lot of time to go over the sections together, as the content in this class can be difficult. She answers a lot of questions for us and has a lot of valuable insight to share with us from her own experiences. Explanations are clear.

Gives extensions and lots of reviewing time on hw. HAVE A STUDY GROUP/BUDDY, CLASS IS NOT LIKE ANY OTHER MATH CLASS YOU HAVE TAKEN. DO HW, not lots but difficult. DON'T SKIP. INTERESTING. TESTS? NOT MANY. EXPLAINS WELL AND NO ACCENT. I HOPE I DO NOT NEED TO TAKE AGAIN. I AM USUALLY AN A-/B GRADE AVER IN MATH. SO NICE & HELPFUL, LONG LECTURES.

Honestly, Professor Gong is my favorite math teacher I've ever had. She cares so much about her students, and truly cares how they do in her class. She gives a good amount of homework, but it REALLY helps prepare for tests, plus she gives out great study guides. She's so good at explaining the material that as long as you do the work you'll pass.

I took professor Gong for math 168 and she was great! However, the work is pretty tough! If u need to take this class, she will be the only professor teaching it, so u have no choice really. Lectures are helpful, but I preferably don't like her teaching method. There's quizzes once in awhile in we took a total of 3 tests and 1 project.

Professor Gong was always available to offer extra help both before and after class and did her best to answer questions students asked during class. The questions on the tests were not unreasonable, and she taught methods to understanding problems, rather than just memorizing facts. Would take a class with her again and would recommend her.

Because she taught so thoroughly I took Ms. Gong for Math 130 and Math 150. I had previously failed Math 130 after testing into it, but with Ms. Gong's clear steps and great lectures and the online program she uses it all came together. Math finally doesn't scare me. You can use the online book and don't have to use the hard copy.

I would have gotten a higher grade if I tried harder. She's a good teacher, the only thing is to make sure you watch how you do your steps on tests because she marks off points if you don't do them the way she wants it done regardless if the answer is right or wrong.

Prof Gong was very helpful, I went before class and after class and she was always very nice. She makes an effort to help the class, she extends homework assignments and she met with the class before the final. She also gave out study guides before tests that were very helpful. I would highly recommend her.

SUCH AN AMAZING PROFESSOR! This was a Math for Elementary Teachers class, so she said multiple times that she gave us a lot of slack because we didn't have many resources. But she genuinely cared about you and your success. If you are having trouble, talk to her, she is more than willing to work with you.

Prof. Gong is a great teacher! The final is cumulative, so keep past Quizes to study and past chapter tests as an outline. She will hint when quizzes are coming and give outlines for tests. Participation matters. She uses MindTap which is required bcuz homework is submitted through there (very helpful) Really have to pay attention and do your work.

I really enjoyed taking professor gong's class. You definitely need to work for the grade that you want and you need to do all of the homework in order to understand the material. She is very understanding and is always wanting to help. Make sure you practice and study before test!!

Professor Gong is such of caring teacher, very accessible out of class, willing to help when you cant understand anything. If you want to learn math, shes the right professor for it. Excellent.

Catherine is a caring, kind soul that manages to make a very difficult class enjoyable. She is always willing to answer questions and is very flexible. While there is a lot of work to do, if you just ask, she may offer an extension on due dates. She offers many resources to assist students as well. Great professor, great class.

I think this class was fairly easy as long as you understand the material, do the homework, and ask questions. She does lose some students in between lectures, but you can always ask her questions and she will clarify. Quizzes and homework were not that difficult if you, again, understand the material. Overall, I think she is a great a professor.

I have never had a math prof who puts in so much effort to help all of the students. She is 100% there to answer questions or set up an individual meeting time to help you as often as you need. She genuinely wants you to speak up if your getting lost in a lesson so dont be afraid even over zoom. Work load is average for a math class.

Out of all the professors I've had during COVID she by far put in the most effort to really teach the material. Genuinely wants you to succeed. If you struggle with math she is a great choice. She had extra resources for us and always made sure we knew she was available for individual zoom tutoring. 10/10

Great professor! She takes her time to write directions and explanations for everything. I thought that was helpful for homework and tests. She doesn't math seem so scary but be aware. Participation in this class matters. She'll randomly choose people who don't speak. Lots of homework but manageable.

Professor Gong is a sweetheart and an amazing math teacher. Her lecturing is clear and comprehendible and she offers extra support if you need it. She requires a textbook and an online homework subscription, but honestly you don't need the textbook. I barely opened it and aced the class. Just listen to her lectures, do the homework and you'll pass!

If you have any previous math experience, this class is super easy. All of my classmates hated it and struggled, but the material we learned was super easy stuff. I had already learned all of it, mostly in elementary/middle school. There is a participation grade and she does drop your lowest test scores if you need it.
