Great teacher. Wants to make Biology fun and not work. Never any homework in the lab class and work is easy. Limited homework in regulard Biology class.

She's always quick to answer any question I have. Anatomy is a difficult subject for me, but her films, labs, and handouts helped me understand more than I thought I could. Her labs were difficult, but I learned a lot.

Teaches the most important info within the subject. Follow the powerpoints, take notes and do labs. Note main points in reading, not small details. Great Instructor! Labs are fun too.

She is a great teacher that makes learning fun. Fair with grading and does not make you feel stupid.

Great teacher! Had her for Anat I and did well, then took her for AnatII. Her powerpoints help out a lot, as well as the labs. She doesnt ramble or anything. Very clear and understanding teacher.

Class was interesting and not boring at all. However her test while they were multiple choice and take home were murder. Also the book used for this class sucked

She doesn't hold grudges. I, of all people, should know this to be the case since it was I who influenced her to adjust her attendance policies. She's a great professor who can appreciate a student's ability to find loopholes so long as he/she works.

I don't know what all these people are complaining about. she said that we have to spell correctly on the exam so why are they crying about her marking down for spelling? come to class, do your work and study hard for tests and you'll do fine. it's silly to blame the teacher if you can't spell!

I think that she is fair with her grading and gives extra credit asignments if you feel you need them. Everyone has a fair chance in her classes. Heck, she got me for spelling on one test, but I still managed to get out with an A

She is great. If you do not pass her class you just did not do anything. She does everything but give you an "A"

this class was hard! I heard she was easy but her tests are way hard and if you don't study like crazy you'll get a D or F on them. half the class dropped or failed because the class was too much work.

While I learned a lot, this class was very difficult. The quizzes are not straight out of the book, rather you must be very capable of applying what you have read. I would expect this out of a college course, but not necessarily one at this level.

The most challenging class that I have ever taken, although I constantly felt overwhelmed, I will have to say this was the most rewarding A I have ever received. Do not take this class if you do not have plenty of time to study and learn all the material (and I mean all)

I don't understand some students. she graded the assignments. does that means her brain doesn't work? you have to turn in your assignments to do well in a course - this is college after all!

She is so much fun. The best teacher I've ever had. She is easy and her class is never boring.

i loved her! she is sooo nice! i love science, and she made this even more intresting she doesnt give a final or exam just 3 take home tests that she gives plenty of time to complete. she gives out cross word puzzles and small assignments that arent even hard to go! i would totally recommend her to anyone that loves science, or is struggling....

Dr. H is very helpful and was very clear. her class is a bit challenging, but once you finish her class you will have actually learned something. Her tests are all take home and you have the whole weekend to do them. She doesn't care how you learn the information just as long as you learn it. Irecommend that you take her BSC 1005L with it.

Dr. H is very helpful and was very clear. her lab is fun and informative. Once you finish her lab you will have actually learned something and enjoyed it. She does off-site hands-on activities every few weeks. That made her lab the best. I recommend that you take her BSC1005 with it.

Awesome teacher who really knows her stuff. She doesn't do the rote memorization thing and prefers for you to learn by reading comprehension and application of knowledge. I liked her so much I signed up for two of her classes back-to-back!

Professor H, she's really nice..I took her for bio and now im taking her back again for Eco..She's pretty funny with her Wittyness and humor..can be tiring, but she has take home test which oddly enough arent that easy! lol.. but she swears there not hard.

Wonderful! I will get my AA degree this sem. and she has been the best teacher yet! You must do homework, come to class, and try. But, these are things you should already want to do if you are in school. She is nice and FUN! She really cares about what she teaches. You will learn something if you try. I would take the class again and again!

BE ON TIME! Use your brain and common sense. She likes to use powerpoints, book, labs, videos ect. She is always very helpful and explains in laymens terms to get the point across. She likes to draw pictures & to give fun ways to remember complicated topics. Says um alot somedays. Lots of cute personal stories. Gives some study guides. Clear tests.

I had the lab class only. A lot of micro-slides, videos and field trips - no textbook. I learned a lot, the labs were fun and she was a quality professor. Show up every week, do the labs, and you'll do fine. Note: be careful what you post here. She visits this site OFTEN to read her reviews ... so nothing personal okay!!!

I took her online Biology class. It is pretty easy if you keep up and don't get behind. Be sure to use proper grammar in your online discussions and papers as she will deduct for it. I found her to be extremely helpful and responsive. This is a great class if it is an area of interest to you. You can learn from her if you apply yourself.

I really liked this online class. It worked out great for me because I just needed to complete my sciences for graduation. I was afraid she wouldn't be accessible, but she was always quick with responses and very helpful. I'd suggest her to anyone.

She is an excellent instructor. I took her for both HAP1 and HAP2. Attend class, pay attention, read the text, study the powerpoints and complete the assignments in the lab book and you should do well.

Take her classes. I took both her BSC 1005 and BSC1005L. She's very fair. Read your book, show up on time, take notes from lectures and you'll do fine. Very easy to work with. Oh and don't bring food to class that requires both hands to eat ;) 3multiple choice exams online(no time limit) handouts in class(very easy)you even get to watch movies

Dr. H is wonderful! She has a great personality and really tries to help her students understand the subject. Tests were a little tricky. In class work was easy and not demanding. I highly recommend this prof. and also her Bio. lab class. It was a great class also!

huh? I loved this class. we had lots of field trips and lab activities. whoever said the teacher was rude to students was nuts!

I took professor Hurlbut for Life in the biologic environment. This was an online class. She is great! She communicates with you and lets you know exactly what is expected. There is a decent amount of work and the tests are difficult, but you can retake them to get the highest score possible. Take her class. she is great and so was her online class

The class was very easy. I bought the book, but did not open it once. The majority of your grade depends on the weekly quizzes, which you can retake as many times as you want. The class was interesting. The discussion boards are easy, quizzes are easy, and the 2 papers are easy. I would recommend her. Definitely an easy A!

Great class to understand importance of respecting the Earth. Easy class, because topic so interesting. Professor has so many rules, she doesn't even follow them. Tendancy to communicate sharply rather than gently, but overall great.

Dr. H has a sincere passion for the sciences and enjoys teaching. She utilizes movie watching in many classes, so don't go to class tired! (She'll take points off if you sleep. I'm sure of it). Her tests are really easy, she gives you a week to do them. She's a great teacher and I recommend her :)

She was an awesome professor. I thought she was funny too. Homework assignments are very easy. She gives 1 week to complete the test which are open book and online. Would recommend her to everyone. I am going to take her for Lab too.

I had her lab class and it was super easy but, you have to show up. There are no test and some field trips but, it is super easy if you do not like bio and are taking it to get it out of the way TAKE HER

i took her bio class and lab, both were insanely easy, just show up and take a few notes and thats it.

Mrs. H was awesome! she really has a passion for science and is a great person. Very sweet and is understanding. Her tests are not hard the class work is easy! Take this class!! She understands that students have a life other than school and really works with you! LOVED THIS CLASS, TAKE IT!!

took this class online...8 week course. 1st week and last week, very little work. All in all...a 6 week course. 1-2 HARD quizzes each week that you can take as many times as you want during the week. 1-2 EASY assignments during the week. No final. I got an A...but it took a lot of work for the quizzes. Doesn't respond quickly to emails.

She made it clear that this class was a "non-majors" course. She is very knowledgeable in the subject, but wouldn't say I learned a lot(or anything). Actually wished this class was a lot harder than it was! Class consisted of watching movies, and then doing a 4th grade level crossword puzzle for homework. Definitely an easy A.

Loved this class. We went on 3 field trips and did labs. No final. It was really fun.

Great/easy nonmajors bio. Youll never need text during class, but it comes in handy for online tests which you have an entire week to take. Attendance wasnt mandatory but points will be deducted from grade at end of term. Watched quite a few movies, including Schwarzenegger film. One paper about your diet. Just show up& take notes from lectures.

Follow instructions and read chapters for quiz's.

great class. take your tests & final on blackboard & you have a week to do it. almost NO homework except for a few worksheets here & there. shes funny & seems passionate about the subject. totally recommend

The best online teacher ever!!! She is so helpful and such a great teacher. She honestly wants her students to pass. Not a hard grader at all.

I really enjoyed Prof. H, great teacher! Go to class, listen to her lectures, and complete your assignments; you are sure to Pass. She uses Blackboard, which is a plus. All tests are on-line and you have an entire week to complete each one. She makes biology very interesting by drawing ugly stick figures on the board to bringing in specimens.

She is a bit of a scatterbrain and disorganized in class, but very knowledgeable. She is very sarcastic, and she knows that students think biology is boring. Follow directions! Go to class, take tests and quizzes; how can you not pass? Take her!

i loved this class and i loved the teacher she was so funny and she really wants her students to pass she is willing to work with you with any personal problems you have just talk to her i know from experience, the work is easy, she gives you a week to take the online test, i made 2 A's and 1 B on the online test. Passed class with an A

She is such a great person. She relates everything she it teaching to our personal lives. She loves to laugh and wants us to learn and pass. I love her method of teaching. Movies, notes and group work. Not much on h.w and only 3 test that she gives you a week to do! Take her! I finally understand "the way of life" :)

Marine Biology had it's ups and downs, the class is overall an easy class. The field trips are far away but fun and an easy grade. The tests are easy if you study. There are a lot of worksheets and group activities that will either make or ruin your grade. So don't miss lab days, you can't make those up. She's a cool lady but a little unorganized.

Dr. Hurlbut is a great professor! The course is challenging but you will succeed if you always attend class and take the time to study. She was very clear with instructions and was enthusiastic about the course. Take her!

She doesn't make you buy the book, which is nice because it is very expensive. But she covers everything in it. If you take notes on the power points you should do great on the tests. She makes the class super fun.

Dr. Hurlbut can come off as tough at first, but she is very fair and helpful. I only took her for the Bio Lab and each class had something new and fun. We even did a field trip lab all about snakes. Basically, if you attend every class and do the lab packets correctly, you should find the final exam fairly easy. Do recommend.

Took online during summer semester. Quizzes came straight from book, and you can retake them. Discussion board posts that were required were easy. Essays a little harder - be careful to use MLA citations or lose ALOT of points. You WILL have to work to get an A but if you spend a little time and watch the deadlines you will be fine.

She's awesome. Just do the work and you'll do fine. All the homework she gives you will actually prepare you for her exams. Do your best not to miss any classes because she lectures in each one of them. Her lectures aren't even boring, they actually apply to real life sometimes. She has 3 exams, no final & never used the text book!

overall Dr. Hurlbut was an OK Biology professor. The science information she provides is accurate and on point. I find her sense of humor dull and somewhat condescending. She is very liberal and loves to publicly voice her viewpoints about her political opinion job. On these notes I found her unprofessional and I would not suggest her class.

She's alright, pretty easy. She's never prepared for her class though. Always seems like she shows up and is like, "alright, what are we doing? oh yeah...". And her audible ques are distracting. "um..., um..., um..." in between each thought. I wouldn't take her for a harder to learn subject. 3 tests, multiple choice/true false. study 2 hours,easy A

Dr. Hurlbut was the "lecture" professor in conjunction with another professor. She didn't do any of the grading, but did all the lectures. They were pretty informative, but long. She had a tendency to be disorganized when it came to loading files and editing powerpoints to her liking prior to lecture.

Professor Hurlbut was always there to help and had a very clear grading criteria. There were a few discussions and online activities, but mostly short quizzes. As long as you read the material, you will make an A. I would recommend her to anyone!

Can retake quizzes until you get the grade you want. Lots of reading, posting, and mini papers but easy to get an A if you do it. The course was more interesting than I had expected. She will get back to you via email in a timely manner.

She does not appreciate lateness, but was overall surprisingly laid back. Heavily textbook based online quizzes every week. Compared to many other professors who make you feel lazy for slipping up, she really made it known that we are all human and was forgiving of some of my mistakes. I HIGHLY recommend this class & professor to everyone.

I took her Bio in Life class and found out that it was pretty easy to pass with an A. I am an international student and my English was not good enough to help me understand all what she said. But, I did take note and do her easy homework and passed with an A. would def recommend others to take her class.

Dr. Hurlbut is a knowledgeable educator with lengthy experience teaching Biology. Her teaching style for Biology non-majors (me) is to teach informatively in an interesting manner. Rewrite all notes shes writes on the board and do all the homework. Know the homework and each term on the test review sheets to earn an A grade. You'll love her class.

Do NOT skip class, you take 2-4 pages of notes a day. The lectures give you a lot of information but she makes it easy to remember. She wants you to pass & is very passionate about Bio! A lot of worksheets for homework, crossword puzzles and matching to help with tests. I had 3 tests, and 1 online discussion. Just go to class and you will be fine.

Professor Hurlbut was an amazing professor. She genuinely cares about students, and wants you to do your best. Take thorough notes, and study homework worksheets. If you do this you will get a B or better on all tests. in BSC1005 30% of your grade is homework, and 70% is based on three test scores. There is no final. Easy A if you put in the work.

Grading is clear, She does take a few days to reply BUT does so well. Ended up helping find errors within an assignment to correct for all, and she was thankful. Overall a great professor.

Professional professor. She makes biology fun and easy. She truly loves to teach. One of the best professors I've taken in my life. I would take her again if I had the chance to. She knows a lot about biology she's been studying it for years. Great personality, can be funny in lectures. No final, three exams, extra credit, do the homework.

She keeps Biology basic and easy to understand. Not a ton of homework or online assignments, mostly just taking notes. So study your notes for your tests and youre fine. Shes humble and humorous, and genuinely enjoys what she teaches. Very glad I took her, I recommend her to anyone taking the class.

Professor Hurlbut is a gem! She gives pretty easy homework and accepts late work. Tests weigh a lot of the over all grade but are SUPER easy, she gives you reviews of what's going to be on a the test. Great Professor

Dr. C is a great teacher. I would definitely take her class again. Make sure you do your work and attend class. The class only has three tests throughout the semester, so it's not difficult.

Dr. Hurlbut is a great teacher. if you're thinking about taking her class do it! This class is easygoing if you paid attention during her class lectures and took notes. Most of the assignments revolved around the PowerPoints and the tests as well which were both easy to do. I would most definitely take this class again.
