what a waste of time! i thought a big class means a cool teacher but boy was i wrong!! she CAN'T teach, everyone learned the topic on their own. seating chart for a size of an auditorium?? she's not one of those teachers who likes their students 2
if u ask this teacher a question, she will answer something else!! constantly interrupt during lecture and demands things from her T.A.s checks IDs before testing (who does that?) made copies of scantron answers so students won't say it's a mistake.c'

Knows the material and how to explain it easier than the book. Does not know the logistics for running a large class. Do the homework, show up, and study the online quizzes and classwork and you'll be fine.

Worst professor I've had at CSUN. I felt like I had a handle on the course when I read the book, but lost everything after attending lecture. She would also play favorites in class (letting her pet students talk at will, while kicking out others)

UGH! HATED THIS TEACHER! Arrogant, egotistical, and horrible at explaining topics so students understand. Everyone had to learn from book and each other. Confusing/hard/stupid tests. Worst teacher ever had!!!
One of the worst professor I ever had. I am a deaf student and she always takes control of what is my needs. I dislike that. Plus when I raised my hand, she constantly ignores me. I would not recommend her to students, especially the deaf students.
Difficult teacher for lazy students. Work hard, ask questions for clarification and by God read before you come to class. Accounting is difficult enough, not reading the book kills you. She is totally there to help you at office hours if need be.

This was one of the worst teachers I've ever had. Does not teach or explain herself clearly. 2 midterms, homework, and final. Doesn't grade on curve, even when 60% of the class fails. Attendence counts. She's a horrible person and I would not rec. her.
this class is like an internet self teach/learn class, professor jeppson's in class lectures are worth a pile of sht. online hw server is terrible. only reason to show up for class is for roll sheet. 3yrs at csun, worst yet.

Tests are Very Hard cuz u have no idea where the questions came from. Her lectures are long, boring, and confusing. Very little interaction with students. She makes you intimidated to ask questions because god forbid if you get lost.
How did I pass?! SUPER hard test, lectures confusing (she forgets it's an intro course), and takes daily attendance. More than half the class failed the midterm (including me) so I think she tries to enhance people's grade that she sees trying. Good luck if ya get stuck with her...
Don't take her. Here tests are hard b/c the questions come from the sky. She is not helpful and boring. You have to go to class everyday which is useless. Even if the whole class fails a test she wont curve. HEARTLESS!!!! She doesn't teach and just tells her TA to do things. Why is she teaching??

She doesn't really seem to know how to teach Account or maybe any subject for that matter. I would not recommend her for a subject such as Accounting, it's to difficult to teach to yourself.
She'll explain a single paper that is due in May but won't explain what's due Thursday. Gives no higher than 80/100 on anything!! Can't spell, frazzled all the time, is mean and talks nonstop about nonsense just to hear herself talk! She says she's anal ALL THE TIME but I think she's just excessive!
hw is`easy, but exams are kinda hard. extremely boring. grp proj was annoying. u never know what kinda mood she will be in, but she's not mean. approachable. she's not as bad as Zvinakis. Sources say she's freakin hard for Gateway

HORRIBLE TEACHER. the first "lecture" she gave she made sure to tell us "i cant teach a class like this, u have to teach yourselves & im here to answer questions." that was her meathod & she stuck to it. i think she curves the grades at the end. tests very hard! if u can take someone else. good luck

SHE IS THE DEVIL. She made my life a living hell. She should never teach; She doesn't know how! I would go into class having read and understood the text, she would confuse me. The tests have nothing to do with anything. Drop the class if you have her even if you will graduate a semester late.

shes hard and unorganized teacher. don’t ever take her class. her grading is very unfair. you turn in a perfect case paper, but for her its unperfect. she loves to fail thats her way of grading. good luck if ur stuck in her class cuz you will need it major time.

Compared to the two other accounting teachers I had at Moorpark College (The class is divided into 2 parts there) she is A LOT less monotone. Her tests are also way easier. She's real ANAL, but her class is not overly hard FOR AN ACCOUNTING CLASS and her tests are on scantron which is a plus.

She's really nice and really easy. I don't know what these people are talking about. her tests are super easy and she always gives bonuses. Take her you'll learn a lot. Very easy to get an A if you work a little bit hard. Cannot be lazy.
Recomend her 4 220-learn alot & not really hard-got A. Worst most disorganized teacher on the face of the earth. She has no heart and no soul to be teaching anyone or anything. She does not know how to account herself. She is the reason CSUN lost its accredidation. Very unorganized, and makes it so that you do not know what you should. We had a substitute that taught more in one day then she did.
I took gateway during the first semester. Not only was this class complete confusion, but Jeppson and the other professor contradicted themselves constantly, causing more confusion. She was not even nice!

Professor Jeppson is a hard professor. To pass her class one must have experience in the Accounting career.
She talks, and talks, and talks, and talks, and talks, and talks, and talks, and talks, and talks, and talks. She wont let anyone get a word in. And your freedom to think is deffinately oppressed here. she will say something, then repeat it, and then repeat it again as if she is traning some form of animal and not university students.

I thought it was going to be useful to have a teacher that has taught this course so many times, but she is so anal about having everything her way, she doesn't give you any help and if you EVEN try to sound like you disagree with her she get's angry and won't listen. DO NOT TAKE her class, even if it's open (that's what happened to me) there is a reason why its open!
By far one of the best accounting professors. She is passionate about the subject, and knows alot. However, she is a very difficult grader. You cannot afford to miss a class or stay behind. But overall, you will learn alot from her. Just be aware that you will need alot of time and effort on this class.
The class is already dumb and pointless, but SHE MAKES IT WORSE. It's a lot of work but SHE MAKES IT HARDER AND IT TAKES MORE TIME. Take anyone but her. AND I MEAN ANYONE!!! She is actually a pretty good teacher. If you do your work, study what she tells you study for the test you'll get an A. She is very clear on what she expects from you for the exams. Make sure to turn in hw assignment. They are worth about 20% of the grade.
she is a tough grader. you can never miss or forget your name tag. she pushes you to work really hard. we had to complete the last case for only 1 WEEK!!! i don't recommend to take her for gateway.

I think she is one of the fairest professors. Participate in class a lot, before turning your paper show it to her. She can make u feel dumb and maybe in 1st grade sometimes,play by her rules. Don't be late, be polite, and just keep up with the work. One thing i learned from her is to complete work precisely and on time. Thanks Dr. Jeppson

people who are accountants shouldn't ever become teachers. expects students to understand the concepts of accounting and talks the material AT you instead of teaching the subject and making sure it's understood. if you love numbers and accounting, take the class. if you're not a math lover, find a better teacher.
As much as people complain about Jeppson she isn't all that bad in gateway, i had one of the crapiest groups in Gateway but i still got a B. As long as you put some sort of effort into the class and get your reports done on time (which she is very fair with) and you show up to class you will pass.
I think she is one of the best accounting teachers at CSUN. Her tests are based on the homework + the lectures + it's not that hard. She gives bonus questions, so that helps your score. Not a hard class. Those who complain, it's becuase they're lazy and think they can pass the class by just listening to her lectures. Put some effort into it people.

If you miss middle-school this is the professor to take. She is confusing and boring. If you read the book you'll be fine. She needs to learn how to teach at a university level.

Got an okay grade, too. Very serious professor, and she is persistent. Come to class and do your work and she will like you. Present your cases well and you should be fine. Don't think so much about her personality and just do your thing. Clear on the courses and is organized i would say. Class is a lot of work!

She is a scatter brain. The first 15 minutes of class is spent with her trying to figure out her computer....the same computer that she uses everyday! She assigns homework everyday but doesn't check it very well. If she wasn't all over the place I might have enjoyed this class more

She's a hardball. Always takes attentdance, always collects homework (every class), never takes excuses. She can come across very mean and cold, but she did want us to learn the material. She's been teaching for a while so she knows her stuff. But be ready to study your notes for those exams because she does things differently than the book.
For Financial Acct, she did a great job. Her slides and lectures are a great learning tool. But you can pretty much teach yourself out of the book, considering you concentrate on the material at hand. Her tests can be tough, unless you are equipped and well prepped. She gives you plenty of work to do where you can make up missed points. Nice lady

TOok her for managerial accgt. Not so easy class but if you read the book you should be fine. read book & study practice tests b/c thats exactly what the tests are like. Makes us buy a remote that we didn't even use. Weird personality but overall ok. Go to class everyday!!
I took this class...and I have to say that it was a real nightmare! Why pay so much money to learn...if in the end you have to learn it all by yourself? No point in having a teacher! Dont take her...you might as well take it online because most of the stuff is self learning and an online interaction with the instructor!

She spends most of the class futsing with her equipment, uses a seating chart, rambles about nothing topics, discourages asking questions unless you sit in the front, does not allow you to leave to go to the bathroom, uses confusing online sites like turnitin.com, answers cell phone during class, and seems ditsy.
I actually like her. She does fuss with her equipment but it's okay, that mic trips out anyway...she knows alot and teaches well if you just pay attention to her and not your cell phone...she just needs to review the tests more
BUS 302 sucks regardless of who you take because all classes do the same things. Overall she wasn't that bad, she really does want everyone to pass the class.
She was an Ok prof for gateway. If you ask her for help she will help you. She wont give you the answers but will point you in the right direction
I don't know why everyone complains about her. Yes she has a seating chart and yes she is strict in regards to her cell phone policy. This class was great. She does a good job of explaining somewhat difficult concepts. I recommend her if you don't mind a seating chart. Very helpful if you go to office hours or even if you just email her.
Horrible! Avoid at all costs. Made us miserable for 5 weeks. Grading is arbitrary, depending on her mood. Didn't let people to the restroom. Rambles in class but strict on others. Takes points off for everything. Does not like students. The other prof. made fool of her all the time because she looks idiotic. AVOID!!!!

Quite possibly the worst teacher I ever had. This class was bad enough that if a serial killer went to this class after he passed it would be hell enough. I would like to know who made this women a Dr. cause that school made a serious mistake, she has the iq of a monkey, and acts and talks even worse. She's so bad I wanna sue her for harassness.

In order to succed in this class you have to read and ask questions. Go to her office hrs if you dont get anything she does not mind helping you out.
Yes She is demanding Homework is mandatory, reading is VERY recommended. But she will constantly ask during her lectures, is everyone with me? and you aren't and you dont tell her. I got very frustrated with this teacher. I am an A student. I spent around 8 hours per week (at least)on her classwork yet I still failed. Growing up as a professor's child, I know that the mark of an unsatisfactory teacher is a high fail rate, which is exactly what she has. She is always unavailable and I found her incredibly unhelpful.
She makes a seating chart and if you aren't in your seat she will have one of her lackeys mark you absent whether you show up later or leave early. Her writing is short of legible, she has exam questions that aren't discussed in class and wants you to dedicate 9 hours a week. Basically show up, do the homework, read the book, and pray you pass.

The first day the teacher said you need to devote 8 hours a week if you want an A in the class. This is exactly true. If you aren't willing to put in the amount of work the teacher is asking you will get a poor grade. Weekly homework, 3 tests, and a few quizzes. Time consuming, hard subject but I am 4.0 student and kept an A in the class.
Lets start off by saying that Accounting is a hard subject. That being said when she says that you have devote a certain amount of time into class she means. Professor Jeppson is a good accounting teacher keeping in mind that the class was at 7pm on thursday. She answers questions clearly and really helps student.
I am an accounting major, this class is easy and it really comes down to reading the book. Attending class will clarify a few things, but overall I did not learn much in class that I already had by reading the book. If you're lazy and you're not looking into business, this will be difficult for you. 3 midterms, online homework and PLF/alt assgnment

Accounting is a hard subject. 50% of people who take ACCT 220 do no pass. It's just a fact that applies to all professor. Jeppson is probably the hardest of them all. If you are an Accounting major, and you can not pass this class, you should probably change major. It just gets harder from here on. This goes out to my Accounting peers.
The professor knows Accounting. But, what's the most helpful (because she isn't really helpful) are her TA's. I had Jaewoo and he's really clear and explains it so well. I followed her advice and read the chapters 3 times each. Once quickly before lecture, once during lecture, and thoroughly after lecture. The tests are straight up. :) T'was fun.

Got thru this class and entirely depended on the textbook and the TA's. She is not that good at explaining or making concepts clear. Prof's lecture time was only useful when the TA's took over. Brave yourself for first exam and commit to using the additional resources and it will be fine!
This professor is honestly not the best, but she is not the worst either. I personally learned more from the TAs and I hardly paid any attention in class. Just read the book, do the study guides, and practice exams and you'll be fine. Accounting is hard and you have to put in the effort in order to pass the class.
stay away!!! accounting is not an easy subject but she makes it to be a rocket science. If you have any other choice, go with it and do not take her. Exams are hard, 50 % of the students fail her class. If you want to pass you have to dedicate an enormous amount of time to this class.
I took this class long time ago. I don't know why CSUN hire this professor. She is not qualify to become professor for accounting. Stay away from this class if you can. She is not very clear and not good at explaining. I suggest anyone to take accounting class at community college like Santa Monica College.
