The first writing class I enjoyed. Instead of stupid "write about some important experience in your life" topics she had the topic of "Fear" for the entire term. She was quite enthusiastic and engaging as well.

This class is fun, and it pushes me. I dreaded taking college English, and now I am a 3rd year student for Catherine. I even waited 3 years to take her class, because her class is always full. She is young, extremely smart... Looks are deceiving.

EXTREMELY helpful. She explains everything very well. Excellent writing topics. Our class theme was "Fear." Plan on doing all reading assignments. She helped me get motivated. Otherwise, class would have been really tough.

She is a very talented teacher. She expects a lot out of you, but it is well worth it. I dreaded college english and she made me understand it. Her literature classes are mostly discussion, which is even better. I would definetly reccomend her.

Just overall an excellent teacher!

She is the very best instructor I've ever had, English or otherwise. She has high expectations but I always find myself striving to meet them. She's brilliantly creative and concerned that her students actually learn, and has very interesting classes with fun and unusual assignments.

She is awesome. A lot of homework, but I liked the topic and she kept it interesting. I highly recommend her!

I will definitely take the rest of my English classes fom her. I actually found myself looking forward to her class. She assigns a lot of homework, but you will definitely learn a lot from her. The assignments are original and fun and there's a lot of class discussion. Plus she's really young and very cool and nice.

Fantastic instructor. She will challenge you but it will bring out the best in you. She is inspiring, she is beyond smart . She has an Incredible heart for her students, a fabulous sense of humor and is an overall outstanding human being. It would be a shame if you didn't experience what she has to offer. PCC is lucky to have her.

Mrs. Landwehr was a great teacher and has a great personality. Her class was fun and interesting. She had the theme "Fear" for our class and, except for the horror movie, that really worked well for me and helped organize the class. I would definately recommend her to all.

Super smart. Very diplomatic. Listens to everyone with an open mind. Has very specific parameters for assignments, like no staples, single spaced, 1" margins, etc. As long as you follow instructions and work hard, you'll learn a lot and get the grade you deserve. Great teacher.

Very articulate, intelligent, and understanding. Deadlines are flexible and she offers nine hours a week for you to conference with her about your work. Three papers per term (including the final) so make sure you put your heart and soul into them. Recognizes potential when she sees it. Will challenge you to grow into a stronger writer. Choose her.

Catherine is a FANTASTIC teacher. She's flexible on deadlines and will bend over backward to help you improve your writing. She really cares about making sure you get the most of her time and your education. She's also incredibly intelligent and her lectures are very interesting. HIGHLY Recommended.

She's amzing! She really helps you understand what you are writing about and will bend over backwords to improve your writing (but only if you show effort outside of class). She doesn't give any busy work. Everything you do in class is specific to YOUR essay. She's great! I recommend her to ANYONE and EVERYONE!

Although Catherine is hard, she will make a good writer out of you. Class was a lot of fun and she made an effort to include everyone. The assignments are hard, but like I said, they will sharpen your skills. After Writing 122 with her WR 123 is a piece of cake!

I absolutely love her! She is a fabulous teacher! If you get the chance to have a class with her you should definately take it! She doesn't give any busy work like a lot of teachers and she really cares a lot about her students! If you show effort outside of class she will do whatever she can to help you with your essays!

She is a great teacher if you like to talk and to share your opinions in classes. You got to work very hard in her classes whether or not you want to learn anything; otherwise, you may fail in her classes. Don't treat in her classes since she will get you. Being in class on time is also a better way to do in her classes.

I love Dr. Landwehr. Not in that way. In a way that fills me with inspiration. She is a gifted teacher. The way she sets up her essay assignments allows the student to not be overwhelmed. Difficult but in allowable chunks. She is funny and sharp. Don't cheat! She is also a natural gumshoe to boot!

Dr Landwehr can be pretty funny to talk with. She makes a major focus on her essays. You better put a lot of effort into these essays since she will grade them pretty hard. I didn't like the theme of the class, but I like her a lot as a teacher. If you want help from her on your work, then visit the Writing Center when she is working .

She is a passionate teacher who has an EXCELLENT talent in teaching writing. Especially, her comments on essays are always worthwhile because she tries to work hard with you for your essays.

Class includes lots of discussions; she likes to call on students to encourage participation. More participation, the better. 3 essays total, one of which is a movie rating essay (movie viewed during class time). Be prepared to do lots of writing for HW b/c she checks them every class meeting. Be focus and you will be fine

Though this is my 2nd term in college, she is the best teacher yet. she gets to into the assignments and excited to write.

Professor Landwehr makes class interesting, especially with her amazing taste in writing and film. She can always make a paper exciting, and I almost wish her classes were longer.

Great teacher. I took all my writing and english classes from her. Very fun, engaging, and friendly, easy class if you do the work. She basically helps you write your paper with homework assignments before its even assigned.

had catherine for writing 155 and writing 121. AtfirstI was a bit nevervous taking Catherines class but after I got to know her, and her expectations you come out of her class knowing howtowrite well. She may behard but she loves what she doesit shows if you meet her half way she'l bend over backwards foryou. Catherine's classis must sign up early!

best teacher I've had.

she is a nice teacher, but the work just wasn't hard, she goes very slow so you can clearly understand what shes trying to teach but i felt that i could have learned a lot more.

she gave out the right amount of work and was easy to get along with. she also a good balance of strict yet relaxed. gave lots of time to perfect your essays.

She is the best teacher i think i have ever had. She's personable and really wants to see you succeed. She will do anything to help you out and doesn't hesitate. She loves her students and makes you feel important. She saves face and is just an all around great teacher. Take her if you can, you won't be sorry. Plus, she's pretty easy!

I had a fear of this class until I got started in her class. Very informative. She does everything she can to help you along. As long as you do the work, you will pass with flying colors. It was the most interested class I have taken so far.

The best teacher at PCC

Catherine is an excellent professor. She is strict but very willing to help. She clearly desires to see her students succeed. It is very important to do the work and to attend the classes. She does not accept late homework. She gives excellent critique and is open to discussion. She doesn't let her opinions & views interfere w/class & grading

I'm now a senior at a top tier research university, and not ONE of the professors I've had here even compares to her. Her assignments are creative and actually interesting, her expectations are high but reasonable, and she will bend over backward to help you out. Just do the work...you will learn a lot from her. She's very smart and knows her stuff

I took the online version of Landwehr's 121 class. I really enjoyed the class, she gave good feedback with every assignment and was always quick to respond to questions. I felt her assignments were pretty easy, but if you don't turn them in you won't do very well. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a good writing class.

My favorite teacher so far. Her main interest is in whether you read the material. All interpretations are welcome in class. This made for a hefty workload, but she wasn't a harsh grader in the least. Attend class, read the book, and the rest is easy. The homework is interesting enough that you will -want- to do it. Great class, amazing teacher!

There is quite a bit of close reading as well as a great deal of writing required for this class. She lets up a little bit when she notices how much work there is. Interesting discussions in class with many references to pop-culture and current events. Her quizzes test whether or not you are reading the material and how well you are getting it.

This was the most entertaining English class I've ever taken. The essays are on interesting/fun topics that you actually want to write about. Stay on top of your due dates! Late work will kill your grade. Great teacher, very thorough!

The BEST teacher I've EVER had in my whole life!!! and I am quite picky with my teachers. She's very helpful and fun, she made the class very interesting and a delight to attend to,do the homework, show up and you will pass; participation is important too, so be ready to speak up!!

She is awesome! The class is very focused, to-the-point and everything is done in preparation for our essays. It really forces you to become a better writer - I'm glad I took this glad, and I would definitely recommend this teacher if you are looking to become a better argumentative writer.

Catherine is amazing! Her teaching style is unique, fun, and she is exceptionally good at communicating what she is trying to get across. She really wants her students to succeed, and spends over a half over grading and writing comments on each paper you write. AMAZING!

interesting writing topics!

I found this teacher to be extremely helpful. She explains things very thorough. If you do not get it, she will explain it in a different way. She wants you to succeed. She is, however, a very harsh grader. Not your typical community college grader. She expects A LOT!

I took WR 121 online, and was very happy with the way it was constructed and taught by Dr. L. She was extremely well-organized, had a creative topic we focused on (fear), and always had excellent feedback & communication. There were many discussion postings and essays, but I personally found it easy & enjoyable. Fantastic teacher; highly recommend!

She is very helpful teacher. She help student alot. I have learnt many things from her class. One thing that you should know about her is in class time u have to turn off all your device caz she will irritate her alot. Good teacher that i ever have

Dr. Landwehr is a fabulous writing instructor. I learned so much from her through the copious comments she makes on papers. I can't imagine how much time she must spend grading. Her on-line class is perfectly organized and very easy to follow. She's very quick to respond to emails. You have to work really hard to get an A, but you'll learn so much

Some of the most interesting writing topics I've had so far. The weekly discussion posts are helpful and relevant to developing your essays and her feedback is exactly what you'd expect from a college level professor. She also forces you to utilize tools such as eTutoring, which are surprisingly helpful. Highly recommend her to anyone at any level.

Dr Landwehr is the best professor you can dream of. She is super intelligent, fun, caring and strict at the same time. She loves what she does and takes pride in it. Watching her work so hard to help you succeed makes you want to push even harder, and do the best you can. She is also very respectful of her students.

Go to class, read the assigned reading, participate, have ideas & opinions. She loves class discussion! It seemed like she enjoyed content over length in writing assignments. Dr. Landwehr fosters an amazing learning environment, is extremely intelligent, there to help if you need it. Practice MLA format for the final!!!! I worked hard for that B.

I have taken two classes with Professor Landwehr (Intro to Folklore & Mythology & Writing 121) and I enjoyed both. Professor Landwehr is caring teacher and she wants to help you understand the material.

Prof Landwehr is a great instructor. She is invested in her students and has high expectations, but is clear in her expectations. She is respectful, thorough, and professional. She is also available for her students and provides great feedback. Put in time and effort (as with anything) and you should get an A.

Catherine is very attentive to her students--send her an email about a question and she gets back quickly. Her assignments were fun and sometimes included that of general media, such as a movie or newspaper. She helps you get into the mindset of structuring an essay to the point of being organized and thorough.

Dr. L is an amazing teacher. She is involved, provides clear and insightful feedback, and her class structure is genius. There were 3 major essays throughout the term, and the progression from week to week, assignment to assignment, helped build understanding and clarity. She is above and beyond helpful, especially if you ask.

I took my first online class w/ Dr. Landwehr and it was great. She is very organized with her material and is very clear about assignment expectations. I would take another class with her!

If you are a strong writer looking for an easy A, look no further. You have to put in a bit of work, but it was doable. If you struggle as a writer, Dr. Landwehr gives clear guidelines of every aspect of the course, and provides excellent, timely feedback on all assignments.

Dr. Landwehr was perhaps one of my best professor. Very clear in what was expected and required for class. Involved, easily approachable (an online course). She provided exceptional feedback, encouraged conferences whether phone or e-mail when big papers were due. Accommodating and a true professional at her job! wish there were more of her

Dr. Landwehr is a great professor overall. She gives superb feedback, grades consistently, and her assignment instructions are very clear. My only critiques are that the syllabus was minimal and lecture material didn't 100% support the assignments, but... If you give the effort and aren't a potato you'll do just fine.

Dr. Landwehr has been my best professor to date. Her feedback is personalized and superb, she grades consistantly and quickly, online questions are responded to in a quick manner. Anyone willing to put forth effort will do well in her course.

She will make you a better writer! Even though it was an online class, she made sure to make personal connections. Take her class, you won't regret it!

Dr. Landwehr provided detailed expectations and "road maps" outlining how students needed to write essays. She communicated her availability in the writing center for face-to-face feedback, allowing on-line students the opportunity to meet with her personally. I would absolutely enroll in another of her classes.

such a great teacher, i took her online classes for WR 115 and 122 and she was so helpful. her grading criteria is also very clear. along with all the work online. i had no trouble figuring out what i had to do and when it had to be done. such a great teacher. she responds to emails fast too!!! always gave me great feedback. 100% recommend!!

I had Dr. L for both WR121 and WR227 during winter and spring. She is extremely attentive in her feedback and focuses on improving your writing. Very responsive via e-mail, fast grader. If you want an easy A, take someone else. If you want to develop core writing skills to make the rest of your college career easier, take her classes.

Catherine is an amazing writing teacher, especially for being online, she was super helpful and have feedback when you needed it! She seems like she really cares about her students and wanting them to succeed which I can appreciate a lot from a professor. The topics that she has chose to do essays have been eye opening and I highly recommend her!

I loved this instructor! Her feedback was personable and beneficial. You do have to put in a lot of work but it doesn't go un-noticed! I had a terrible instructor for WR 121 and she was such a breath of fresh air! She also has a sense of humor which makes a technical writing class fun! Pick her if you can!

She gives great feedback and encourages you to send her any questions you have about the assignment youre currently working on. Shes super helpful and made a writing class enjoyable and seem less daunting. There was a ton of homework though, and peer reviews were annoying because half the class seemed like theyd never taken a writing class before.

One of my favorite teachers. Great feedback, clear grading criteria, interesting writing topics, and fairly communicative. The only English/writing class I've ever taken that I didn't hate, and it was my favorite class. Definitely take her class if you get the chance!

This professor really wants to inspire you to become a better writer. Excellent feedback and clear grading criteria. Weekly readings that were not overwhelming, fun group discussion boards, peer reviews, occasional quiz and three main essays. I would recommend this professor to everyone.

Catherine is wonderful! She is caring, understanding, funny, and a genuinely good teacher. I learned so much from her, and she gives really good feedback. Genuinely best and nicest teacher ive had. Feedback is super in depth and personalized, and the articles she has you read and respond to are actually really interesting. The essays are graded more on if you did them or not, she's very lenient. Amazing teacher.
