She seemed to be ok but to anyone who had her in the Spring 2005 session need to recalculate your grade. I took her syllabus to the dept chair. Mr. Luby had to get with her b/c she said she wasn't good in math. I somehow went from a D to B. I know they did not alert everyone, but if you know anyone I bet your grade is wrong unless you got an A.

She's a very nice person and made class enjoyable with a variety of hands on activities. it was not what i thought speech class would be like and she really understands a person with stage fright. as long as you show up and do you best she's a very easy person to be on good terms with. i definitely recommend her.

THIS TEACHER IS AWESOME!!! Everyday we get a good laugh in her class. She makes up games that are very easy and help you understand her lessons. She has such a great sense of humor and she is very nice. Her class is based on showing up and speeches. I HIGHLY reccomend her!!!!

Great Teacher! I have had alot of fun in this class. I have taken other speech classes and other teachers just lecture from a book. She has the class participate in exercises to help you understand communication. This makes it easier to make better speeches. I would take this teacher again.

I dreaded going to this class but it was one of my most fun and interesting. If you are worried about speech class then take this course. The final was so easy it was rediculous. This class gives you real world help and job marketability not just text book instruction. One tip though. She's a little hard of hearing but very nice.

She's the coolest professor on campus. Not only do you learn a lot but you have fun doing it. In my opinion her approach to teaching is something the other professors should be doing as well. She tells you what you have to do to get an A from the very beginning. There is no reason why someone shouldn't pass her class.

I was dreading speech and wanted to drop the class before I even started. Take this teacher if you are nervous. She makes your feel comfortable. She is fair, you will definitely get an A as long as you try. She puts you in groups to do activities which helps you feel more comfortable with class mates so you don't mind talking in front of them.

I love Prof Madden!! Her class was so much fun only because she made it that way. We did a lot of group activities that made us feel really comfortable with our classmates, so by the time the speeches came around you weren't as nervous becauase you weren't just giving a speech to a bunch of strangers anymore. Take this class--you won't regret it!!

An absolutely wonderful professor. I was not looking forward to taking speech, I used the ratings of students to select her. I was so glad I did. You have to read the assigned text, and do the research on your speeches. But the classes were really fun and interesting. You will really enjoy this class and will take something with you afterwards.

I was so scared to take this class, but it really wasn't bad at all. Professor Madden is super sweet and makes you feel comfortable. She takes attendance, but I missed a bunch of classes and still got an A. There were maybe 10 group exercises that were very easy, 1 informative, 1 persuasive, and 1 impromptu speech. Not hard - TAKE HER!

If you are terrified of public speaking like I was, you definitely need to make sure your schedule can work around one of prof. madden's classes. She makes things so comfortable and there's only two "real" speeches and they're easy as pie. I'm so glad I took her for speech this class changed my life.

This class was fairly easy and not as stressful as I thought speech would be. Few homework assignments. You don't really use the book unless you personally want to read it. She gives you an outline for your speeches. If you give your speech on the correct day and its long enough and you turn in assignments you get an A. ok teacher

took her for intro to oral, aka "speech" class. easy, fun, and interactive. not a class you will have to fear sleeping through. true, quantum mechanics may not have much to do with speaking to a crowd, but it was a good break from daily routine. speeches that are late, as much as 3-4 weeks STILL get decent grades as long as you make an attempt.

Great professor! She is very much old school and will give you the respect she deserves. Show up, participate and deliver all assignments on time and you will get an A. She gives ample time to get the assignments done and even partial credit to those that can't do the whole thing. She's recommended!

The professor was an engaging lady. Took her summer course... making things go by a bit quickly. Very simple assignments, and only 3 core speeches. What I would consider two, simply because the "impromptu" speeches were less than a minute in length. Very easy grader, and incorporates some interesting class exercises into her lessons.

I have an almost phobic fear of public speaking and Ms. Madden helped and was very understanding. Do the homework and put forth an effort in your core speeches and you'll do well. I cried thru the entire impromptu speech and still pulled an A. Thanks Ms. Madden!

I hate public speaking (public anything), but the class content was surprisingly not much about speech and more about communication, and was totally fascinating. Professor Madden is clearly knowledgeable about her subject, engaging, and fun. I wish she was more direct about how the class is graded, but if you do the work you're sure to get an A.

WOW. Easiest class ever. youd literally be dumb for not taking her. This is what your speeches are graded on, 1 visual aid, the time, works cited, and outline. So stutter all you want, move back and forth, dont even look up, and youll still recieve an A. this girl did her speech A MONTH late and got a B on it..... This lady is awesome. and funny!

Wonderful teacher! Our first lesson in class was "schmoozing" and how it's the currency of life. I took this class over the summer and actually looked forward to going. She keeps the class engaged with thought provoking material IN ADDITION to teaching students how to give a speech. Her grades are fair and straightforward.

She's the best speech teacher out there! Other teachers make you dress up for speeches and give quizzes every week but she doesn't. She gives you simple homework assignments that you knock out in 10 minutes or less. She gives you the speech outline and you fill it in and use note cards for the speeches.This is a no fail class.

i love this teacher. we did little work and had a lot of discussions in class. also we only did about 3 major speeches and class and she is not a hard graded. we did watch a lot of videos i can tell you that but i didnt mind. if i had a choice to take her again i surely would . Great Teacher !

This professor is wonderful, and incredibly easy. I do not suggest taking her if you do not like to participate in class. She shows a lot of videos on what is happening in the world, and although it is quite thought provoking, definitely not someone you want to take if you don't have much going on in your mind to talk about. You have to try and fail this class. Her class is fun and interesting. It gets you talking about what the world is around you. She teaches speech unconventionally because she wants you to go out there and use the skills you've learned in real life. If you're interested in thinking and having a great time, take this class.

Prof. Madden is a fun teacher. She really tries to get everyone involved. I'm not a huge fan of speeches, but had no problem doing all of my speeches in this class. She really is huge into conspiracy theories, but I'd rather debate on conspiracies then other boring stuff, so its really not that bad if you're open minded. I'd take her again.

Professor Madden is the best teacher I've ever had! She talks about information that's actually useful in the real world. Some people may think she's crazy because of all of her theories, but it 's actual information that everyone should know. This class has given me so many interesting conversation topics and my overall experience was amazing!

Awesome professor! She's all into conspiracy theories but she's interested in making the class think and give their point of views. DO NOT buy the book she never uses it..there's easy work sheets one group project and 2 main speeches and there is no final exam she uses the last speech as an exam. I had class from 5:30-9:20, luckily she would give us a few breaks. Occasionally she would mislabel the handouts. The best thing to do is print all of the handouts out and have them on you. Her lectures are amazing! Great feedback, and creative activities which were super enjoyable! She is funny and respectable! I enjoyed the class bunches!
