I know alot of people struggled in this class, but I also know alot of people who did really well. It is really just about going to every class, taking strong notes, and studying regularly (I went to every SI session She gave out some extra credit which helped me and her grading got easier towards the end. She's so kind and energetic, I like her.

Of course the class is hard because it's bio. But she does a really good job at explaining things just make sure you go to every single lecture. I never bought the book and I never needed it anyway so it wasn't a problem. Just pay attention to all her metaphors cuz they're really helpful. She also gave us donuts the day of our final. Very good prof

Professor Scollick REALLY knows what she's talking about. Take notes on the lecture slides all class, which are on blackboard, so you aren't technically required to go, but she does a great job at explaining things. The class is hard, and you will need to study a lot for her difficult exams. Online lec. quizzes and HW almost weekly, not too hard.

Professor Scollick was funny, and knew what she was talking about. Biology is a hard subject, so you will need to study. She is always available if you need help, but she likely won't respond to you until late at night. Homework and quizzes are online.

There are 5 exams including the final which is cumulative but you get the opportunity to raise your grade with online lecture quizzes, homeworks, and two extra credit opportunities throughout the year. She is energetic and very polite. I would take her again because she gives extra work to raise your grade, rather than just doing poorly on tests.

She was a really good professor and explained everything really well! BIOL 191 is a hard class but she breaks the material down to make it easier to understand. She provides study guides and extra credit. She is really sweet and will give you feedback on your homework. She is kind of a hard grader on the short answer portion on the exams.

Very caring and depth professor. For lab, the content was adequately easy, and she did a great job explaining it. If you need a refresher for bio, I'd take her class for lab and lecture

I had her during the COVID-19 pandemic. The class was focused on group projects which were time consuming but not hard. When the pandemic started the shift to online distance learning sucked because lab wasn't really the same anymore. She's a caring professors and teaches very well. I wish we could've had more time in lab.

I took this class during covid which I think made it significantly harder. Professor Scollick does not grade on recitation of facts but rather grades on application of material. This makes studying hard especially if you cannot attend the si sessions. I got an A- so Im happy with the class.

Absolutely love this professor! So much so, I took her for another semester. I love her classes bc they're very straightforward & she is evidently EXTREMELY educated. She has been consistently upbeat & caring throughout the classes & she is approachable! The classes aren't the easiest but she creates a great environment to succeed! Highly recommend

Prof Scollick has done a beautiful job teaching biology lectures through the pandemic. She always posts her videos on time (class is asynchronous as of rn), she's clear and concise when she speaks, and obviously extremely educated. You will know of all assignments well in advance and be given the resources to complete them well.

She's a very nice professor and explains the concepts well. Learning during Covid has everything from the lectures to review sessions being recorded so you can do the work on your own time but you can choose to attend the review sessions live and ask questions. Take good notes during her lectures and you'll do fine. Would take her again!

Professor Scollick is one of the best professors I've ever had. She is so sweet and enthusiastic about teaching biology. Her pre-recorded lectures weren't too boring and she had many review sessions during the week and was always available. You definitely have to take good notes and study to pass the tests. Professor Scollick is such a kind woman. She is super enthusiastic about what she is teaching and is a really good teacher. This course involves a lot of preparation out of class, but professor Scollick is great at assisting you and makes you want to do your best. We didn't use a textbook, just viewed powerpoints/lecture videos.

Have your lab manual and attend class and you have yourself an A

As long as you have your lab manual and complete the assignments you will do well. In lab she offers help if you are struggling most of the time. Communication with your lab group is what will ultimately determine your grade.

Out of all the professors she was probably the best. She was always there to help whenever needing clarification and you could tell she wants her students to succeed in her class. She is a very passionate teacher and is very enthusiastic even at 8 am. I would definitely take this class again and the only 8am I would recommend.

Ms. Scollick is a good teacher. If you do your work and attend class then you'll be good.

Professor Scollick is amazing. I had her for both lab and lecture and you can tell she really cares about her students. You have to apply yourself and read the rulebook for lab, but it is an easy class and she is a great teacher. Take her if you can!

I took Prof. Scollick for lab, not lecture, so this review only pertains to lab. Scollick was GREAT and I would totally recommend taking her for your lab (and honestly? I've heard great things about her lectures). She's a fast grader, friendly, and is an amazing teacher first and foremost (breaks down concepts really well). 10/10, would take again.

Professor Scollick was amazing! When my lecture with a different professor wasn't going well, she allowed me to sit in on her lectures to take additional notes that helped me not fail the lecture. You can tell that she cares about her students understanding the material and passing. Recommend her for both lab and lecture honestly.

She really cared about trying to help me pass. But you have to reach out and tell her your struggling and need help. As soon as I started reaching out for extra homework/ review help started getting better grades. I still may not pass but this is my second time taking it and she was so much better than the first professor.

Professor Scollick is a good teacher but be ready to work outside of class because her lectures are all online. You watch the lecture before you come to class and then when you get to class you "review" the information. Graded off of 5 big tests including a final that is cumulative and theres a lot of material and work to be done!

Reviewing and watching the lectures is a MUST. The workload isn't heavy but the content can be overwhelming. She is a picky with wording, but she allows you to send assignments in early for her to review. However, do keep in mind that she has a lot of students so, she can take a while to respond, so manage your time accordingly. Grade now: 92%

How well you do depends on you. 6 quizzes, 2 assignments per unit (she will check them before submission) & 2 extra credit opportunities. I ended up with a 97, but you do have to study. I recommend flashcards, go to lectures, watch the videos & take notes! You get 4 absences before it's taken from grade. I would say take her 100%- don't be lazy!

I am a pre-nursing student who needed bio191 for it. Bio191 is a hard class in itself but if you are a science person you will do fine in her class. She is very respectable and you can tell she knows what she is talking about. You NEED to study, exams are hard. Homework and a health assessment every unit, some extra credit, final. Pre-lab videos.

I don't know why she has such a bad rep, but I took her for lab. She's so sweet and helpful, and she will answer all one million of my questions in lab. She is really helpful and gives a lot of extra credit in lab. I recommend her for lab 100%!!!

Professor Scollick is a very nice person and Professor Bio class is split up into 5 units and has pre-lab recording videos that you watch before class and review the topic in class. Your grade will be determined mostly by the exams 150pts each, Hws and other things are small points. Exams are not bad as long as you review the material and study!!

Her Bio Lab class is very very easy. You have an assigned group that you work with that semester. Come on time!! she does take away points for being late, she gives a 5-minute grace period. Has Pre-lab quizzes (easy as long as you read the lab manual), tough grader though, so just put your effort in assignments

STUDY!! i cant stress this enough, STUDY. u won't pass if u don't study for this class. she has lectures posted on bb before the class & the classes are review, so its not much diff but she does emphasize what u really need to know for the exams in class. i mostly taught myself most of my time in this class but she isn't a TERRIBLE prof

Professor Scollick is not a bad professor, and she tries her best to answer all questions. However, make sure to study HARD for this class since it contains a lot of material. I personally liked how she recorded lectures. It makes it easier for students to go back to the videos to take notes and study. She also offers two extra credit assignments.

Not a bot Professor Schollick is truly the definition of a great professor she's very knowledgeable, shes very nice and caring of her students. She explains things thoroughly and she was easily the best professor i've had a Towson. I think where people fall short on is studying bio isn't the easiest subject I can understand why some would struggle

Scollick is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about biology. To do well, you MUST watch the lecture videos before each class and take notes. NOT an option! You get the same amount of homework assignments each unit, that aren't awful, but are application based. You have to study thoroughly and put a lot of work in outside of class to succeed.

first of all if i would've knew to check this beforehand i would not select her as a teacher. MAJORITY of your grades is based off exams and she's not lenient at all. You literally have an exam every 2 weeks. Then i'm literally teaching myself because she talks mad fast and just isn't a good teacher.

Scollick completely changed my perspective on Biology. No glaze, she made the subject more engaging than any teacher I'd had before. I liked it so much I even decided to minor in Bio. I'd rate her a five, but she's slow at replying to emails. She's very nice yet firm and ensures students respect her authority and do not take advantage of her.

Prof. Scollick was one of my favorite teachers from last semester. She is so smart and so passionate about biology, it almost made me think about becoming a bio major. She is very thorough when answering questions in class and responded to my emails quickly. I highly reccomend people take her for lab.

Did not grade prep-work, just gave prep-work quizzes to be completed before coming to lab. Most post-lab tests were from home which made getting a good grade way easier! Explained everything clearly and emphasized when to ask questions before the actual lab work began so when you started and couldn't ask anymore questions you were ready. Show up!!

Go to her office hours! Everything in the textbook is on the test! She really cares about her students, attend the lectures and ask questions. She's really enthusiastic about bio. I had her for 191 lecture & lab, she is a great prof, don't let the ratings scare you. But you MUST study and connect the units tg bc everything will be on the final exam

Really good professor definitely knows what she's talking about. Each lab was explained clearly, and she helped a lot whenever you needed help.
