ugh.... hard. lots of reading
****in sucked!
she's a very good professor for such hard subject matter. always willing to help. Way too much reading though

I hate her. Impossible tests, horrible lectures, stupid books. Bad class, bad teacher
Absolutely horrible class. Probably the worst class I've had at BSC. She is conceited so don't call her a teacher or she'll flip. And she is irresponsible when it comes to grading things quickly. She gives horrible lectures, and horrible tests. Sucks!

horrible, hates students and hates you. Never grades things on time or hands them back. Too much work, always kept us right till the end
she is such a nice lady and is wicked funny too. if you dont understand what is going on in class(which might happen) make sure you see her before a test to go over the study guide and you are guarenteed a good final grade. loved the lady!
wicked hard!!! struggled to get a B!!! likes it if you to her office hours......but treated a GER like a 400 level course!!!
I foundthe class material to be boring and confussing bt Professor Womack was willing to help us butthat doesn't mean that I liked her... he was rude at times and giave alot of work to get donein short amounts of time
avoid this woman at all costs. make sure you dont call her a teacher or she'll curse your soul.psychopath about plagarizing; she's positive she'll catch you. textbooks are full of babble you'll never care about.
Evil!, Her lectures were boring, her test were impossible. Managed a B, have no clue how. Material completely over my head and she didn't explain it well at all. Never ever take it as a TR. Says y'all way too much.
Material was over my head, and she never stayed with the book...half the class talking about irrelevant topics. Tried to like her, don't understand her grading system at all...received B, but don't know how.
Very dogmatic! Will help during office hours! However, can be very condescending at times! I see no respectability in degrading students in order to flaunt her own views! And sick of hearing, "I'm not a servant to the rich!!!" Get over it alread
One of the worst classes I've taken at BSC...talks to students like they're beneath her. She's stuck on herself and the class was horrendous. I learned nothing from the course.
great professor, learned a lot. this is my third time in her class. extremely tough, but makes you work for every grade...favorite professor in my college years.
She isn't that bad.
can be nice, but class is very tough. can be very condescending and at one point in my class was completely unprofessional. many people did bad, but if you understand it you should be ok. she will make you scared about the exam, but it's not too bad.
I really enjoyed having her as a prof. yes she was difficult at times but she was always willing to help her students out. if you are having trouble, i suggest meeting with her before the test! that helps a lot. you wont do well if you skip class
Womack's great. She's humorous and animated and keeps the class interested and managed to get people to be lively and active in class. Very personable and friendly and approachable. One of my favorite courses of the semester and one of BSC's best.
Dr. Womack is AWESOME, one of my favorite professors ever. She's very funny and lively and makes the hard material easy to understand IF you take the effort to pay attention. You will do EXTREMELY well if u just stay awake and take notes.
WORST teacher in the world...never take one of her classes...she thinks she is so funny but really is not at all...gives so much work and is a hard grader...calls on you in class and makes u feel like an as* in front of the whole class...horrible teacher
In my opinion the class has potential but shes terrible with students...has a huge ego...talks down to students...constantly gets off topic. Dont take her if you can avoid it.
Sometimes she seems nice, but I get the impression that she thinks she's the best. She certainly favors students who are Philosophy majors. Like all philosophy professors she has to always be right, which is strange because philosophy is about opinions.
I'm beginning to get the impression she wants you to fail and will stop at no means to achieve that goal!
Most aggravating professor!!! You try and its like she doesn't try to help you what so ever. I hated looking at her with her faded black pants and c.t. (those who had her know what i mean.) Stay AWAY!!!!!!!! Her way or the highway
Nice lady, good teacher, expalins everything if you are unclear about it, test are a little on the harder side, you definately need to know the information!
you have to be arrogant when you're in a field like philosoph otherwise you're not getting anywhere...she's the best!
I am still on the fence about how I feel about Womack. Good luck getting a word in. Pretend you agree with everything she says and you'll do fine. Says uhh..wayyy too much, scattered, gets off the topic and can often be very arrogant. okay so maybe i don't like her that much.
Tests were pretty tough. She is also awful about handing them back. Classroom time goes by quick, she is an interesting professor.
Not a bad professor. Learns names quickly and engages the class well. Tests were kinda tough, and final paper is short, but somewhat difficult. I took philosophy as a first semester- freshman, and ended up with a B+. Study hard and ask questions Do the reading and try not to argue and issue with her
Hard class. Doesnt really listen to students opinions or understandings of topics. Way too much lecturing. She goes on and on and on.
One of the best classes i've taken at bsc. She's not wicked easy, but she does help, and as long as you memorize thew first half of the semester it's easy. And if you go to her office just once to talk to her she remembers you and learns about you a little and even gives you a little bit of a break! take the time to do that!
class could be boring at times , but some of the topics she talks about are interesting

She's a really nice teacher. She seems really cool ^_^
worst teacher i have ever had grade k-college. does not try to connect with students, heartless, and thinks she knows everything. runs class like it is a graduate level class
answers cell phone during class. guest speaker used was not good at public speaking. every second class was a repeat of the class before it. has a hard time getting to the point, constantly throwing in information completely un-related to the course or philosophy in general. felt like i was back in high school again.
you're in college do the work! it's a lot YEA! but do it and you'll be fine...best professor in the state!
the worst of the worst of the worst. the only way i managed an A was surprise, surprise doing the work!
I really liked her. It's college not high school and you have to do the work. She's very funny and nice. I stopped by her office and talked to her and she was so helpful. She also made philosophy understandable because I was definitley struggling with some of the concepts. I would take her again.
not a good teacher at all. she thinks she knows every thing and brags about how she can teach the entire class in italain....good for her. she doesnt return graded assingments for weeks. not a good experience
I despise this teacher. I have never had any teacher ever think that she is so cool in my entire life. She honstly believes she is better than everyone in the class. And she is NEVER wrong, so dont disagree w/ her.
really nice teacher but the test are really hard. the class itself can get boring at time. also the test are relly hard.
Not my subject, and passed with a C. Hard teacher and somtimes hard to understand, but i went for help. Failed mostly all quizzes and tests, did 5 page extra credit and passed
If u r in to scattered, unprepared, multiple last-minute class cancellations & getting your midterm grade near the semester's end, then u r going to want to take Womack. I doubt she even likes teaching...at least that class. Seems to me, she just does it because it's required and she would much rather spend her time doing research or something.
She is probably one of the best/ easiest teachers I ever had. Sure shes a bit scattered and gets off topic easily but it then means our homework decreases. We rarely get homework and she hates assigning a book to read so she splits it up so you only read 2 chapters from a book. I would advise taking her especially if you have a crazy schedule.
CONTINUED...do not take her, her teaching skills are poor, she uses no notes...just randomly writes on the board and expects you to know and understand everything she says..i did not use the text book once, and on the oral presentation which she did not give instructions on i got a D
Avoid taking her for any class! She is very disrespectful and makes you feel bad about having a different opinion then she does. She never answers her emails. Thought this class was going to be interesting but ended up just being a headache all semester.
Not a nice person. She constantly puts you down. She brags about how she's from a wealthy part of south carolina, she went to M.I.T, goes to all these big girl confrences(it's your job..) and that she lives near boston. Congrats but your class sucks. Avoid this class..oh and the c.t. has got to go.
She will go out of her way to help if you ask. She loves students who ask thoughtful questions. Does not usually assign a book but will email or print pages of material instead. Don't use your cell phone in class. She hates that. Overall, a very easy, funny, and fun professor if you show interest in Philosophy and respect towards her.
She cuts to the chase with her approach. she'd be better off somewhere else with more serious students. She's serious with the material and it makes people mad at this place. I have found most Bridgewater students want it to be about BS. I wish I could afford to go to a better place and get a real education.
No book...definite plus. Counted as a humanities requirement...another plus. Most the people in the class were philosophy majors; but I am not by any means. Class was hard, but fun. If you participate and do the work you'll do fine. Open conversations were the best because you got to state any opinion/ argument you had, as long as you backed it up.
Took her class completely online (which I recommend)and found it very organized. Class was a little difficult, but presentations and assignment were clear. Overall I found this to be an OKAY class.
Took online course. Material can be very confusing. Not easy by any means. Required for all students. Hw and quiz every week. mid term. final. and discussion board posts online. She was helpful and replied to emails somewhat fast.
U cant leave the room for any reason, no cell phones, no laptops, miss more then 4 classes a full letter grade deduction. Got a A- on the midterm, B on the reading quizes, and failed the final presentation because it was a touchy subject? DONT RECOMMEND
She is awesome. Extremely helpful. Wants students to succeed. When I originally started his class it was because I had to; now I plan on adding Philosophy as a minor; because of Professor Womack!
She's horrible. Falcons in on you if you text, deducts your grade a third of a letter point and no laptops for notes. gives easy practice work then screws you over on exams.
She is awesome! Took this class because I had to. She is there to help you succeed and will do everything she can to help you. No textbook required and all the notes you need are on the powerpoints. Lets you use a full page notecard for all exams. Can retake homework as many times as you need until you get 100.
She's a great professor and very personable. Definitely knowledgeable in the subject, but she's also very strict about attendance. Definitely don't want to miss a class! Sometimes she'll go off topic (which is mostly due to student questions)., but I feel like we're still learning the information and real world applications. Definitely a fun class.
Very tough teacher. I had her for Honors PHIL 111. She gives quizzes and homework assignments every week, and tests every few weeks. A few projects throughout the semester. Very confusing class. Interesting at times but very abstract. Kind of confusing grading, I think she gives you what grade she wants you to have. Nice lady, tough teacher.
She wasn't very clear in anything and I had to fight for my correct grade. She grades on a 4.0 scale so she would constantly convert my scores wrong. She was a mess and talked more about her life and problems than anything else. Plus she had tenure so I couldn't even do an evaluation. Do NOT recommend.
The course itself isn't great, but she's not bad. Took it online and did the bare minimum and it was alright. Just confusing content all around. Scales the tests and gives you an extra credit assignment. Homework and quiz every week but let's you take the homework over and over until you get 100.
The things I could say about Catherine Womack. I had her for PHIL111 and it was awesome! Yes, the course was difficult and made me want to gouge my eyes out, but Catherine makes it all worth it. Very personable and funny. If I could take another class with her I would in a heartbeat.
I think Professor Womack is awesome but this course is horrible. I took this course online and if I had to do it again, I would rather have taken it in school. Very difficult. She makes up her own questions and some of them are not easy to grasp. Everything is pretty similar.
Took her online class this course is very hard but she is very nice and tries her best for you to understand. She can be sassy ecspecially on the discussion boards but shes also nice. You have homework and a quiz every week and 5 exams in total. Overall I recommend her.
She said on the first day that she is a procrastinator, and she wasn't kidding. Tests were prepared right before class, or just skipped in general because she didn't do them. NOTHING was graded until the last day of the semester. She can get very off topic, but if you take notes, and participate you'll get an easy A.
She is SO funny. Barley any homework. Learned so much.
I took this class online. I feel as if I havent learned much from it because its just PowerPoints and then homework/quizzes. Some of the stuff is hard to understand just by a powerpoint.
I loved Dr. Womack, her class was difficult for me I couldn't get it. She gave power points every week & explained different things in the discussion group. You had to use the discussion section online it was part of your grade, that wasn't hard to do because I had so many questions. I love the way she graded, she scaled everything.
This professor is very friendly and easy to communicate with. She responds to emails and can be met with out of class. She is strict with electronics. No cell phone is to be out at all, not even in your pocket. They must be off the body and placed away so you cannot access them. This is a severely strict policy. Laptops are allowed though.
Her class is easy to participate if you try.
Her online class is AMAZING. She is so sweet and understanding if things come up. Her online work isn't that extensive and is what you would want from an online class.
she is funny. I would take her again. don't really like how she grades by a few things
Catherine is a funny woman that is understanding to students needs and wants you to understand the material. She likes to interact with the students and makes it a point to learn every students name. Assigned a book but barely, if ever, used it. Will call you out for phone use- hates them. You need to go to class to pass her class though
She's a hilarious person, genuinely so funny and chill. You'll do homework every week, read articles on moral problems and answer 3 to 4 questions. Lots of discussions in the class which is interesting, almost everyone will participate.
One of my favorite professors at BSU. She has amazing lectures and treats her students as equals. Hilarious and inspiring. Would take her again and again
One of the best professors! She got us prepared for every exam and was considerate. The assignments were simple and she was an easy grader. She really cared about her students. I recommend!
Was a relatable professor. However, sometimes she was not really responsive to the Discussion Board where you could leave questions. Sometimes, you felt as if you were waiting awhile for answers. Would take it this way again over doing the class in person. Not as bad as everyone says it is.
Dr. W is amazing and one of my favorite professors at BSU. Shes kind, understanding, and Im specifically taking a class I dont need so I can take one she teaches. If you show up, say a few things every now and then, and do the work youll pass.
At first she was great and then horrible. She does NOT respond to emails or discussion boards. Says she will post assignments and then takes a week or more to do so. Changed our schedule many times. If there was a week to do an exam, homework and quiz, it would quickly get crammed into a weekend. Very unorganized and frequently skips office hours.
She's legit awesome, bees knees
Professor Womack is genuinely such a sweet person. She would always talk about campus events and loved to hear about her student's lives. However, she cancelled more classes than she showed up for. Most times, the cancellations were last minute - really inconvenient for commuters. She also stopped responding to emails and didn't grade anything.
Kathy is a sweet southern woman. However, she canceled class multiple times throughout the semester and took literal months to grade one paper. She was sick a few times so I will cut her some slack but it was a little ridiculous. Easy A course and she was pretty funny too, just don't expect too much academically.
She's a caring person who's passionate about philosophy. But she never responds to emails and she said she would give feedback on all 3 essays for a final draft, but we only ever got feedback for 1 essay months after it was already due. She's a procrastinator who grades at the last second and you won't know your grade until the semester ends.
Nice professor, hard to manage blackboard. There was a class final and a 4 different department finals & on the department ones there were things that were never mentioned in the powerpoint through the semester. She gave extra credit thankfully, but she does need to go through her pp's for students to know what to expect.
Professor Womack is very caring & has the betterment of her students in her mind. I took her for crit. thinking and only had her class once a week for a large chunk of time. When it comes to her teaching style, avoid the long class as she is a little bit lecture heavy. Pay attention and communicate when you are struggling and she will help you.
Worst professor at Bridgewater State. Extremely disrespectful and disorganized when it came to blackboard and requirements for the course. Also doesn't answer emails as well. Stay away.
Best professor you can take for a philosophy course. She is a very sweet southern woman. My only warning is she can be very unorganzied but she owns up to it and makes sure this will not affect your grade. Lectures were fun!
Professor Womack is a sweet, relatable instructor. While organization can be lacking, her online class structure works well. Unstuck AI proved helpful for study prep.
Professor Womack is a great professor and goes the extra mile to be sure her students succeed. She is kind. If you do all your work on time, you will pass this class no problem
Very sweet lady, do not expect to get grades back for a while and uses full class time for each lecture but she is great at what she does and makes every class fun. She is very understanding and accommodating.
Professor Womack is a bit disorganized in terms of due dates and grading, but the class was a breeze other than that. Gives clear study guides for exams that are nearly exact to the exam questions. She truly wants her students to succeed. She's also hilarious which made the class that much more enjoyable!
I would take her again. She's super nice and understanding if you get sick and need an extension. Good course and nice professor. I took Crit 111 with her 10/10
