I really like this teacher, I am going to take her again in the fall for English 101. She is very helpful and caring and you will learn. The assignments are not hard as long as you do your work you will earn an A.

she excels in helping her students learn to write. she is also understanding and listen to us.

If you turn all your work in and try you will get a good grade in this class. She is easy to understand and her teaching methods are great!

Class is fun, however, you must do the work. She wants us to be successful in the next classes so she spends time helping us understand what is expected and why. She uses an online program for grammar which is better than worksheets, and she chooses really interesting readings.

This professor not only takes the time to give feedback on every assignment, but will also go out of her way to find methods that help you understand anything that may be unclear. There's endless amounts of useful information in this course. Read everything and ask lots of questions! You won't be disappointed in this class.

Good choice for an English 101 class. I took this as a hybrid so attendance did matter but it was only one day so it wasn't a big deal. She's very sweet. Only did 4 papers, 3 were minimum 2 1/2 pages, last one was minimum 5 pages. Not bad for an English class. She wants you to do well, pushed deadlines back multiple times if she saw us struggling.

She's very helpful and wants to make sure her students understand the assignments. Ask questions if you're confused or she'll assume you know what she means! She replies ASAP via email. Great sense of humor, easy grading, follow her instructions and you will pass. Class requires reading to understand different methods of writing. Would recommend!

I enjoyed this class and learned a lot, I read the review from the angry student. She must have done something wrong, because we were told that we were not going to learn citation in this class on the first day. The instructor cares about her students, I am going to take her for English 101.

I have never had an easier class. Very helpful. Leaves feedback. Responds very fast. Wish she had a 102 class. She emailed me when she was concerned if I wasnt going to send homework in. She really cares. Points out specific issues and will review your essay.

One of the best professors I've had so far! You can tell that she really enjoys what she does and brings her passion into her lectures. She's really funny, which makes the class less boring than it could be. She seems to take her time with grading essays, but it's okay because she gives a lot of feedback, which is really easy to follow.

I scored with Ms. Beauvais! She has nailed lecturing this class. Love her stories relating to the topics that helped me learn the material. Uses extremely helpful PP slides. Grades fairly. Responded to emails quickly. I havent nodded off in b/c she makes it interesting.

I really like Ms. Beau, she is caring and wants her students to do well. She will help any way she can. We did 4 essays, not to hard but they do require some thought. We read a lot, but the discussions were good.

Ms. Beauvais is an amazing teacher, sure there is plenty of homework every week, but still, she is very understanding, and helps you so much in class. Only one quiz, and a bunch of essays. I had a really hard time with MLA citation , but Ms. Beauvais was there every step of the way, to help me. She responds fast to your emails. I just love her:)

An easy A if you do the work. The work itself is easy BUT reach out to her to clarify what you don't understand about the assignments. I missed some things bc the format of the class makes it difficult to understand clearly what you need to do. LUCKILY she is very lenient and will let you re-do something if you ask! Good teacher. :)

This class was great, it is a hybrid, which means we did our work online, but had to come to class for instruction. The in class work made things clearer and easier, if you don't go to class you will miss out.

I learned a lot about writing in this class. The assignments were not too hard, but they challenged you to think. She explains everything, and is always open for questions. I wish she taught 102.

Awesome professor. If u have a chance to take her class, I would definitely recommend it! Unlike some professors that try to make class the hardest thing ever to accomplish and do so with little or no intention of helping you through it, this professor really wants you to succeed. I always find it funny when I look at rate my professor and I see students who are angry. I just finished English 101 with this prof. and if you read and follow directions you will do well. This is college, we have to read, especially online.

I took this as an online class and if you do the work correctly she tells you how great you did and boosts up your self esteem. I really enjoyed being in her class she is very simple and is easy on grading,homework and once in a while on quizzes. Highly recommend her!

Anthropomorphism in folklore class. Lots of reading and discussions, but not anything truly difficult or over the top. Only needed to purchase one book, the rest was provided in lectures or links. She was great at communicating and made everything easy to understand what was expected. She was great.

8-week classes are always tough for any subject, but this teacher was clear in her assignments and was there to answer questions when I needed help.

Professor Beauvais was great! Took her hybrid class. 4 essays, 3 discussions, lots of little videos to watch, journals (you have to show up to class to do these) and a few readings. It seems like a lot but it's really not and as long as you try you get full points on most of it. She is helpful and responds to emails quickly!

Ms. Beauvais was an excellent teacher, I had her for English 98 and decided to take her again for eng 100. Its a hybrid class, but since covid happened.. everything is online for now. As long as you stay up to date with your modules and due dates. You will pass her class! 4 essays and they were not too bad. Just listen in class, you'll be fine.

i loved taking her class. i cant even explain why. her assignments were fun, and getting books to read rather than a fat ugly text book is a GREAT approach. shes a real gem, and super kind and caring in all her emails. explains everything if you need a second explanation, and even checks up on you time to time.

I took the class online, it wasnt hard at all just a lot of readings but she doesnt ask much from the readings. The class consists of discussions, and a couple of short essays, theyre easy I didnt even read the stories completely because thats how easy the assignments were.

I took her Charms and Hexes lit class. You read three books over the semester. She provides PDFs for two of them but you have the buy the third. Was fairly easy, the discussion posts were opinion based and the quizzes were easy to google answers and find questions online. If you're looking to actually learn not a good teacher.

This class was busy, but i learned a lot. I didn't realize that college work would be so intense. This was my first semester and I was confused, but she helped me figure it out. I got a little behind and she helped, except at finals. Overall i really liked her, she seems to care how i did.

I learned a lot in this class, the professor takes her time and helps you learn. If you do not understand she will break it down for you. She is also very responsive and involved in the class. Make sure to read her emails, though.

I just finished Eng 101, it was not as bad as I thought. I was scared at first, but then Prof. Beauvais was helpful and I passed with an A. There were 3 essays and some other work, but not so much that I couldn't get it all done easily. The book is so interesting to read that took me 3 days to finish it. I loved this class so much and will miss it!

The books were interesting so I didn't have a problem reading them. There's a lot of discussions and readings. I only had to purchase 1 book which was like 5 dollars online, she provides the rest of the books for free. I had to write a couple of essays and the final is a research essay. Easy class just get ready to read.

online; there were modules for each week & they were straightforward and organized. she used a lot of different media like movies and books based on what we were learning and it was interesting content for the most part. a lot of discussions and readings, just make sure you post when you need to. there are also a few short essays and a final essay.

She provide great information and she will take her time to make sure you understand the assignment. She gives extra credit that you can do anytime you want and it is pretty easy to do. Also, if she see you trying she will give you more time to complete the assignment. Doesn't require books but you do need to read what she assign for journal.

Literature class. so expect to read. The class was straightforward, just reading intense, but the topic was great. I might have been in the same class as the previous post, but I had a completely different experience, if you pay attention to the modules, you cannot fail because everything is laid out. I loved the class, it was fun.

Professor Beauvais was a great professor. The class was very easy and I didn't really try on the papers. It is two week modules and there is about one reading each module and two to three assignments. The books are not hard readings and I actually found them very interesting. There are no tests just 4 papers and they are only 500 words minimum.

just finishing haunted house class, so much fun. Most of the books are provided, there are a couple that have to be purchased but very cheap. unlike other lit classes i have taken this held my interest. I would recommend the class.

Awesome class, awesome professor! I loved this class a lot, all the material was so interesting & things I'd read/watch on my own. We did have to read about 4 books, & yes you actually have to read them, but they were easy and fun reads. The discussion posts & movies we had to watch were fun. She responds quickly & doesn't grade harshly at all.

going to class was mandatory, but we did a lot of work in class, it was not as terrible as I thought it was going to be, I actually learned somethings.

love this teacher, she is helpful and sweet. If you are new to CSN, take this class! the feedback on my essays helped me a lot. You will have to buy a book, it is required. The quizzes were not hard, and we did work every week. I took this class during pandemic, so it may have changed but everyone else seems to agree that she a good professor!

I took the Haunted house lit class and was surprised, it was so much fun. it was not hard to keep up either, most of the books were provided and the one or two i bought were like 4-5 dollars. what I liked is the two week modules when a book was to be read. great class irecommend it.

this class really helped me get into the swing of things, especially as a new college student and she really helped me out understand what I should be doing in the class and how greatly I started to understand the stuff she was teaching even though the workload was about to give me a mental break down, especially with essays, but she really cares.

Each module lasted about 2 weeks and had 2-4 assignments per module. Assignments are composed of short essays, discussions, short answer responses, and/or quizzes. Lots of reading and movie watching. None of it was too hard, but definitely stay on top of the work, it is easy to let things snowball out of control. Kind grader too.

Assignments included discussions on weekly topics, commenting on magic related music, and quizzes on assigned reading. There were a few short essays that were assigned (nothing too difficult). Most of the reading involved were short stories. We had to also watch a couple of movies. This class was so much fun, I highly recommend taking it!

Lit classes mean lots of reading but the haunted house section of the class was fun. You only have two weeks to do the modules but the class is well structured and none of the assignments felt like busy work. Don't procrastinate on the reading and you'll be fine. Her instructions were very clear and she put lots of effort despite it being online.

Cathy Beauvais is a great professor with a straightforward teaching style. Attendance is required, but no textbook is needed. Homework is simple if you manage your time. She's responsive to emails and offers help when needed. Be aware that she uses occasional profanity but informs students on the first day.

I overall enjoyed this course, the work wasn't too bad she just is pretty strict with deadlines and putting effort into your work. Besides her strictness she's cool and the assignments were pretty simple as long as you followed directions. It is important to show up to class so you don't miss anything important. She does offer extra credit too.

this was definitely the fun class in my course load. we read 3 books which honestly were pretty good. a few movies and she does a playlist every week for the material. i loved this class honestly.

The class wasn't too harsh but the way this particular professor grades is certainly unfair. My Final paper wasn't even marked 10% AI, it was under though she accused me of using it regardless because in her mind the way I write is robotic. I called off work to have extra time to finish the final and it went to waste. Highly disappointed.

Prof. is a great teacher, she always checks to make sure we understand. i was afraid of english, but i passed and understood everything,so happy i took her class. the hybrid format takes was good because i only had to go once a week.

i just finished eng 223, and i loved it. No, she doesn't like you to use AI but i did'nt find the work hard We read short books and a couple short stories, did discussions,quizzes based upon the books. 1 final paper What was fun was what we read and discussed, it was not like some of the boring lit classes, it was more like todays reading.

I loved ENG 223 (Magic in Lit. & Folklore). There was a lot of discussions based on the short readings we learned about. The work was fairly easy, and since it's mostly reading and writing, you'll have no problem getting through it all each week. I also loved the weekly playlist she put together! Try out something new with this professor!

The haunted house class was fun, the end book was great as it was a blend of comedy and haunted house lit. I learned a lot about how people see haunted houses. It was an easy class.

I took this class over the summer last year and enjoyed it. You have to do the reading, but it's spread out over the course so it's not too much at one time. Great lectures, and no groupwork. Professor cares about students, and is quick to respond to emails.

She is a very nice, sweet lady! Her lectures are pretty straight forward, and she is willing to help you and answer any questions you have. She gives readings to read before meeting each week but they're short. She leaves A BUNCH of comments in essays for feedback on your writing. She doesn't sugar coat it, so take it with a grain of salt :)

Professor Beauvais' ENG223 class is great! Lots of reading and only a couple creative writing assignments. Lots of discussion posts. My only warning is if you're enrolling in Spells, Charms, & Hexes with her and don't like horror, one movie and one book may not be pleasant for you, at least in my experience. But overall, great class and caring prof
