Great professor - feel like I learn a lot - it is obvious she cares about the students and their success. The one professor I know really cares about her students.

Was long time in the field of social work - she knows her stuff. She is a real person - you can talk to her about anything. Even when she is busy - she will make time for you - She is super easy to talk with. Her classes are great - she tells real life stories about social work and she doesn't sugar coat a thing.

She is kind of hard to describe. Her classes are very interesting..she has a lot of great stories. She can be a little intimidating sometimes, but I do feel like I learned a lot from her. I would recommend taking her class if you really want to get into social work-I learned a lot!

I find some of the comments on her weird. Like she is never moody. She is always really clear and helpful. She wants students to succeed and she is totally and completely honest with you. She doesn't give you any B.S. She helps out a lot and she is a wealth of information. She obviously loves her students and spends time showing her care.

She was helpful when I had questions. I worked very hard on my 6 page paper which she had graded by that night, so she really didn't read it. she is slightly weird, but helpful.

I read through the comments and wonder if some people were upset over there grade of something. She has been very helpful in class and out. She is always considerate - doesnt look down on students but treats each with respect and really tries to help you succeed

I really like this professor. You can ask her any question and she will answer it. She explains the reasons behind everything. She likes that you follow directions in assignments and if you do that you won't have any problems in her class. I had a lot of fun in this class.

Very easy to talk to about matters related to class and those not related to class as well. Very knowledgeable about the social work field with tons of information to teach. Very approachable especially when the class being taught is stressful for the students.

This class is about international issues in social work. I didn't have great interest before the class it was required was all. But this class was most interesting one all semester. Makes me want to change the world.

This is different from other social work classes but it is a really great class. I learned a lot of information about environment, sustainability, problems faced by social workers internationally, and how to prepare for disaster. Would recommend this class to anyone.

The field internship is a lot of fun. I am at an agency with disabled adults. It wasn't what I thought I wanted. Cathy encouraged me to try it and I am so glad I did. Cathy is open to answering questions and meeting with students. She has been super helpful.

This class is extremely interesting especially if you are majoring in social work. There are speeches almost every other week, but they are super easy since you do them all but one in a group. There are no tests, only the final which is all open book and open note. There are also countless extra credit opportunities.

I took this class as an elective and really liked this class. Professor is easy to relate to. She shows high level of empathy and compassion. There is small group discussions and lectures in this class. Presentations are mostly done in groups and this makes it less stressful. Professor provides stress reduction exercises to help with this.

Super easy A and this professor is a hoot! Take it but most likely you are required to for social work and don't worry because it is a great class. Only downside is that it only meets once a week and she never lets you out early.

Easy class but there are a lot of presentations. Most are group but your final one is alone. No tests, midterm and final were online and open note. Cathy was a great professor for my field experience class. This is a great class to take to get some experience. You have to do 8 hours each week for 15 weeks. There are two papers that you have to write and other things like evals. Overall an easy and beneficial class!

This professor responds quickly to your questions by email. She tries to work with you and offers a lot of extra credit if you are falling behind.

This was a difficult semster with corona virus and the internships were stopped but this professor was fantastic and helped us to have group assignments and activities that helped us to finish our internship. Cathy responds to emails faster than any prof I ever had.

I LOVED THIS CLASS! Divided in three sections the class covers disasters, environment, and international issues. Lots of group work. She gives you the exams in advance and open book.

I had this class at MNSE and this was my favorite class so far. Cathy helped me to decide if social work is the right career path for me. We met on zoom and talked for quite a while. She discussed several different options with me for completing a degree. The class helped me learn about what social work is.

Professor Faruque is retiring this year but I had her for a few classes. She is the best professor in the social work program. She is honest, genuine and tells inspirational stories about her social work career. She will be missed by a lot of students.

I am taking Intro to Social Work with Dr. Faruque. Class is really interesting and she iresponds to my questions quickly. She had an error on a quiz and gave me the credit, thanking me for pointing out the error.

Cathleen is my introduction to social work teacher at MSCSE. This is my favorite class of the semester. Cathleen communicates regularly with students and lets us know progress in the class and if we are behind. She responds quickly to questions and concerns.

I really enjoy this class and taking field experience next semester. Cathy said she would help me with getting ready to apply for my bachelor in social work admission. Class has a lot of group projects, but they are interesting. Cathy replies to emails quickly and has met with me on zoom or phone when I needed.

I am at Southeast and took the pre-social work classes with Cathy. She is the nicest person and is really very helpful. The class is online and she keeps in regular touch with the class sending regular emails and she met me several times on Zoom. If you email her, she responds right away. I even contacted her in the summer when I had questions.

This is my favorite class so far. I changed majores and Cathy was really helpful in answering my questions about social work. Taking PSWK2510 right now and I know this is the right career for me.

Prof Faruque's INTROSW class was a highlight this semester. Her engaging lectures and Unstuckstudy made the material click. Highly recommend for aspiring social workers.
