Very good math teacher. She is very to the point and very willing to explain things over and over again until you understand. She gives great reviews for the test, your quiz grades come from writing a problem on the board before class and doing test corrections, and she never gives you busy work! Highly recomend her.
Thought the class isn't hard, you do have to work to make a good grade. But, she gives you plenty of opportunities through test corrections, and quizes (you just write a problem on the board, and it counts towards your final quiz grade) to make your grade up. She is very informative, and doesn't give busy work. Great teacher, get her if you can!
Great person all around, very easy class, ask a lot of questions..she loves feedback. Test can be a little tricky, pay attention.
The material of the class is somewhat confusing if you do not have that previous background in the subject matter, but through her willingness to provide extra credit and allow you to do test corrections there is no way you should not make at least a B in the course!!!!!!!!!!
This was my second time taking this course. I highly recommend taking Lockwood for this course. My grade dramatically improved.
I would recommend this teacher to anyone. She explains everything she teaches in detail. If you have questions about the optional homework that she assignes, she will explain that and take up as much time that is needed to answer everyone's questions. She can be sacastic at times, and if you don't like sarcastic people, then don't take her.
Ms. Lockwood is not the best teacher in my opinion. Cool person - very sarcastic (which i think is great!), but didn't explain the material well. She rushed through everything so quickly. She obviously didn't want to be there anymore than we did, but it made for some difficult self-study. Not bad if you are't too lazy.
I would not recommend her to anyone. She may explain material well in class, but her tests are very hard and very different from what she teaches you. She often lets you out early because shes too lazy to teach. And she is not timely in handing back tests at all or before the drop date.
half the time she isnt in the mood for teaching so you get days off, however, you have to cram the days she does feel like it to catch up. its a hard class, but she basically gives points away the last few weeks to bring up grades.
ok..first of all whoever fails this woman's class is an absolute idiot, and should reconsider college altogether. she GIVES away hundreds of grade points, plus she grades on a DRAMATIC curve! she does everything but take the test for you! i loved her class and I absolutely HATE math!
The length of her class time is very short. I loved just hearing some of her comments. Her tests are easy because she gives you a lot of time to prepare. The final was practically given to us. I would reccomend taking her if you despise math, but are somewhat good at it.
Short classes! Very concise and to the point! Over a hundred bonus points available and you are only graded on 400! Really nice! You get to choose on a lot of the things! Final is a giveaway 150 pts. if you do the review! Great class... TAKE HER!!!
I suck at math and passed her class with a B.
She does not teach, nor does she care.
worst teacher alive!!! she has easy grades but doesnt clarify how she wants it done and will not even grade ur paper if it wasnt typed. shes a complete ass about everything. better do ur**** perfect
Awesome Teacher! Very helpful, the book is needed only at the beginning of the semester. Gives many opportunities to receive an A. It's all up to you to do the work. Final is almost given to you, show up do the review and you'll have no trouble She does not count attendance against your grade, but it's to your benefit to show up.
WOW .. can i say easy math 199 teacher all my friends were failing while i was glad about her class. She gives tons of extra credit and answers any questions you have and will not go on unitl you understand will explain as many times as needed.
Although she gives tons of extra credit, and her reviews are exactly like the tests, she just does not care whether you pass or not. She goes through the notes really fast, she just reads off the powerpoint, she's very lazy, and doesn't clarify things at all. She really assumes that everyone already knowd everything.
If you want an easy A then heres the teacher you want! If you actually want to learn...choose someone else. She's very lazy, doesn't seem to care about your grade but at the same time gives an abundance of extra credit.
HORRIABLE! She didn't really teach anything just read off powerpoints. When I asked for help she talked to me as if I was stupid. DO NOT TAKE HER FOR THIS CLASS!!!
The 1st half of the class was easy (the calculus part). She gives you tons of powerpoints with the information and the tests come straight from the reviews. The 2nd half (statistics) is harder. She makes you do tonsss of projects & LONG, DETAILED take home tests. She teaches really fast so if you're not a fast learner dont take her!
for a college algebra class, this was really hard. I'm not good in math, and I've barely got a C. She doesn't care, gives ridiculous projects, and just reads powerpoints. She gave like half the class a 0 on a survey project. It's retarded. DO NOT TAKE HER! unless you want to fail or lower your GPA...
Yes, she does read off her powerpoints. Yes, she gives tons of projects. Its really hard work, but as long as you go and talk to her she will practically do it for you. The only reason why half these people don't like her is because they probably went to late to talk to her.. she is wonderful
Worst math class ever! First ever C I made at Sam. At first the class seems fine, you take tests over the chapters, but then she assigns these projects that are horrible. Also, she waits until the week before finals to give you your grades back. Don't take unless you absolutely have to.And i did go by early despite what the previous comment says.
This teacher is HORRIBLE.The class starts off great come to class get the powerpoint notes have her read them to you and then leave 5 minutes later.BUT THEN she assigns these STUPID 20 page projects that you HAVE TO TYPE and TURN in like the NEXT DAY.Going to her for help is UNLESS because she talks to YOU like your DUMB.
She is very lazy and does not care about you unless you talk to her in class, laugh at her dumb jokes, etc. I thought I had earned a B in her class but got a C. You dont get your grades for anything back until the LAST day of class. And her projects are ridiculous. I made a 20 on one b/c I forgot to do one question on the project. Tests r the revie
The only reason i put her clarity at crystal is because you can clearly read the textbook supplied power point slides. Other profs and the math dept. dean agree power point is not the way to teach any math class. Don't ask questions, she will just show the slide and not go any further. Worthless as a teacher and a wart on SHSU's butt. Get a tutor.
Class was so easy. Go to class get notes leave. Do optional homework (1 problem) and get extra credit. Got to use note card on every test. She helps if you ask questions if you go to her office she never minds helping. Awesome teacher, if you like math and catch on quickly I recomend her.
The teacher doesn't teach nor explain well. She is usually very lazy when it comes to work on more examples to get the matter closer and clearer to the students. not concerned for student's progress and doesn't have nice attitude. not capable of explaining what she's teaching. shouldn't teach high level classes. I don't recommend to any student
Reads off of slides. rarely is interested in the students. Likes to single you out infront of the class if she knows you are struggling. if math is not your best subject then i would not recommend her! slide show presentations can not teach you math!
This teacher is HORRIBLE!! She does not teach you anything. All She does is read off the slides.. This is not History class, you can not learn math by reading off slides. class is extremely boring and she does not care at all about your success. When youn ask her a question, she answers you like your a little kid.. DO NOT TAKE AT ALL!
Math doesn't come naturaly to me. Its true that she goes through powerpoint slides then (if no questions) ends class. But I still made an A. Extra credit points just for writing a homework problem on the board before class (points just for trying). I was shocked at how many students didn't take advantage of all the bonus points.
Her teaching method is through powerpoints which are to the POINT. They will only make sense if you go to class prepared!!! She may seem indifferent but I think that's just her style of being laid back. Offers tons of bonus pts that might bump your grade a letter. Would take her class again knowing full well I would have to work for my grade.

Lockwood is AWESOME, although the class is a little difficult she offers ALOT of extra credit. TAKE HER!!!
She teaches math out of ppt and it's an uneffective way to learn. She gave quiz, hw, and review Qs for every chapter. Online quiz is easy(somtimes unqnnounced). Online hw is the "hardest"(few chapters later, takes forever to complete them). Review is easy and is similar to the test. She also offers many ex. credits. Overall, i don't recommend her.
Loved the class. She is helpful, but sarcastic, so do not be offended. I would definetly take her again.
She is sooo awesome, pretty weird, but awesome. she offers so much extra credit. the online homework sucks but it's an easy a. and you don't have to take the final if you have an a in the class.
she is an awesome professor, powerpoint notes and goes over homework. she gives reviews and extra credit oh and TEST CORRECTIONS.. the only thing is there is a lot of homework but she helps you out with it... she sometimes semi solves the problem so make sure u ask her if ur answer is correct.. other than that shes AMAZING!!
Would NOT recommend!! Her lectures are on powerpoints, honestly who know how to math just by looking at it? Homework is online and is much harder than the book and notes. Quizes are similar to exams, the only good thing is she give test corrections. EVERYONE FAILS her test!! Class average is failing! Prepare for the math lab or to teach yourself!!
goes over powerpoint very quickly and rarely works problems out during class
EASY tests. Reviews are the tests. She teaches off of powerpoints which isn't very clear. Used the textbook to teach myself primarily. Does random quizzes toward the end of the semester. Singles people out and does not teach you anything other than reading off her powerpoints. Easy A, but recommend taking someone else.
IDK who these other people leaving these comments had but it was not Mrs. Lockwood. she does not accept anything even 1 second late. she does not offer test corrections. she does not take homework for a grade. 90 percent of her notes is from pwrpoints and you cant learn math that way. i went to her office for help and she did not help me.
She is super strict and teaches math through power points...terrible way to teach math..i got a c in this class every other math i took i recieved a b or higher...this is not the teacher for you if you struggle
Attendance is mandatory. Not good at teaching, reads straight power point. BUT! She is very helpful with tests. Lets us a calculator, has more bonus questions than actual test questions. The test reviews ARE pretty much the tests.
I didn't like her at first, but once i got used to her it was pretty chill. As long as you understand your reviews you'll pass her tests. She is helpful during tests and very nice to girls. She won't let you fail.
Lockwood teaches solely off of powerpoints, and moves through them very quickly in class. When it comes time to study, you will go download the ppts, only to find out that a solid 75% of the solutions or formulas are missing. Ask for help and she will just tell you to pay more attention and send you on your way. Barely passed, DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
She is the best math professor I have had in a while! These people are crazy!!You get so many extra credit points you are stupid if you get a C!These people obviously didnt come to class because I'm making over a 100. She does teach off power point but she also works it out on the board as well! She is so helpful I go to her 30 hr before every class
You dont have to ever go to class. She gives lots of extra credit. One project that if you just do its a 100..dont have to buy a book she puts all slides online..you get to use one side of notebook paper as a cheat sheet on every test.. SO EASY!! and im horrible at math and never went got a B.
Lockwood's class is EVERYTHING. I hate math, not my strong point at all, but L's class is CAKE. Actually learned some stuff even though I was very uninterested (& it showed). She is really a sensible person, doesn't want anyone to fail. Go to class when you want, just make sure to keep up w/ PowerPoints & show up for tests (on BB)
Lockwood does teach from powerpoints but she'll work out problems on the board if you ask. I stayed behind after class to ask questions a few times and she made sure I understood and even talked to me about what kind of careers I could get into with my major. Ended up with an A in the class, absolutely love this prof. take her if you can!!
I definitely didnt like this class. The math was semi-easy but the way she teaches is hard to understand, I've never learned math from a powerpoint. She would go through the slides so quickly everyone in my class would be confused. Very condescending when asked questions. I would NOT RECOMMEND to anyone.
Her class is very easy! You don't have to buy the textbook everything is on the power points. The tests are exactly like the reviews. Just do your work, and make a good cheat sheet and you should be fine.
Chill teacher. She really likes her students. You try you will pass. A lot of computer stuff though. Like powerpoints and stuff. I'm not computer savvy and I did well. Like I said attend class and you can pass.
She's a very helpful teacher. As long as you're trying she will help you regardless of the situation. She's very chill and friendly. Make sure to pay attention to the powerpoints, everything you need is in there.
short class. Lets you leave early all the time. reviews are pretty much the same as the test.
I've had her for two courses and she is literally the best! Super easy and will go out of her way to help you. And as mentioned before her reviews are almost identical to her test! She's awesome.... I would strongly recommend her!
DON'T BUY THE BOOK!!! Very easy teacer, as long as you understand basic math, financing and charts. She likes to use powerpoints for explaining material so get used to using blackboard. If you don't get something, ask her, she will go into detail. can be late but sign te ttendance log befor you leave. short class if shes tired, like 15 mins. short
Save your money! doesnt require that you buy the book. very short class if your in a 1:20 hour class, but off of class vote. Shes very helpful and cool, loves to laugh at jokes and such, so please ask questions if ou need to, shs usually into more detail if you do. Tests are exactly like reviews, sooo, DO THE REVIEW! and you'll pass tests easily.
Go to class, she recognizes who attends class and who doesn't. Print out powerpoints prior to class. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK- you will never open it! She will help if you have any questions at all.
She goes off of power points and is very fast. You will need a proper Ti-84 calc to even get through one step in this class. She is very helpful and responds to emails very fast. There are test and projects but all are pretty simple. She also gives out a review before hand with almost identical questions.
When you ask for help she looks at you like you've asked the stupidest thing. Her lectures go too fast and she's reluctant to explain something twice. She's also super sarcastic so no this was not an enjoyable class.
Material is hard but she's willing to help if you ask. Lots of assignments, 5 tests, 10 chapters of online homework. A lot of material to cover for 1 semester but she was caring enough to stop & help when you ask. If you're going to take stats you might as well do it with her, at least she slows down when asked & re-explains if needed.
Mrs. Lockwood is awesome. Teaches things you need to know. She doesn't like dumb questions and won't answer questions for you. She makes you learn. Doesn't take role, but has pop quiz days where only role counts. I hate math and she changed my perspective!!!
Material was hard but Dr. Lockwood was willing to help out as much as possible! Definitely recommend her! She truly cares about helping her students pass. 1 project, 3 tests & final, plus assignments & online homework. A lot of work but possible. If you don't understand something just ask. People don't pass because they don't try!
She's nice and funny but tough. She reads word for word off PowerPoints and goes SUPER fast! She has a grader that grades EVERYTHING for her, and let's just say the grader she uses has NO SOUL WHATSOEVER!! Pay attention! The class is all on computers. Tests are nothing like the worksheets and are SUPER HARD!!!
Her lectures are confusing and not very helpful because she just reads the powerpoints to you. She gives assignments all the time! If you don't pay attention and know 100% how to do everything you will definitely struggle with the tests
Lectures were so bland and confusing. I had to teach myself most of the course with youtube videos and such. Expect random things youve never heard of to be on the test.
Lockwood is the angel and her grader is satan. The tests are way harder than they need to be. You have to work really hard for a decent grade. The lectures don't really help and you will be teaching yourself and others.
She is a great teacher and teaches math that will help you in the real world.
Ms. Lockwood is a great professor. I failed my first exam but ended up with an A at the end of the semester. If you do your work and "care" about your work, you will be fine. She's friendly, her lectures are funny sometime, straight fwd and understands her student very well! If you need help, go to her and ask her questions. Very approachable!
Prof Lockwood has a great sense of humor and makes math interesting. Fair warning though many people drop this class because it's meant to be though. She is always willing to help in office hours but you have to work for your grade.
she is a wonderful professor stats is a hard class so expect to work hard for your grade. she will help in her office hours and is straight forward.
PAY ATTENTION and do your homework. Connect math isn't that great of a website but it will help you grasp the concept. Tests are "real world" questions, not straight forward. Don't let your 63% average upset you, she will help you if you ask for it. Also, she says she gives quizzes but doesn't usually. First few weeks are the hardest, push through.
I felt like she read the power point the entire time rather than actually teaching the lesson. She doesn't really demonstrate how to solve problems/equations. She does however do take questions, just that whenever you do ask i feel like she doesn't answer it & expect you to know it (lose the point of what a question is). each hw is like 5yr long
Good professor. She's pretty cool and she's kind as well. Tests aren't easy but the course is pretty difficult overall. office hours and her extra credit was extremely helpful too. Really recommend taking the class. At first , i was failing but just stick through the class. DO NOT DROP IT; don't give up .extra credit bumps grade up drastically.
Tough class, but she works with you when you need help. Hard tests, online homework.
Lockwood is a really funny professor and will joke around with you a lot. The lectures are pretty confusing but if you ask her for help she'll help. She does give a lot of extra credit towards the end of the year to help out with your grade. The first test everybody fails. You'll probably not like her at all at first but she grows on you.
I have to admit I didn't think there would be any way I could pass this test and I was intimidated by her at first, but when you show her your efforts and work as hard as possible for a good grade she will help you succeed in this class. It's hard but very possible and she's a lot nicer than many seem to think at first. She genuinely does care.
Has a different approach when teaching. She will have alot of homework to help you get as many points as possible. She is understanding and will come off as not acessible but that is not the case at all. Her reviews are a little different than the test but still good practice. You will be tempted to skip, but dont it will hurt you in the end.
YES, there is lots of homework, but that really helps your grade. She is sooo nice when it comes to helping you, just ask. At first, she seems like she is not approachable, but she is. She will help you, but you HAVE to ask. She goes over everything in class, she goes fast sometimes, but thats why you have to ask for help. EASY!
Loved having Professor Lockwood this semester! If you have a chance, take her. She's so obviously passionate about what she's teaching and she has a great sense of humor. I've actually enjoyed sitting through statistics all semester.
I took her for biomedical statistics. It was a very tough class but she tried her best to explain everything well. All of her tests were short answer style and she tries to give points for everything. I missed a test and instead of a zero, she helped me gain points from the final to make up the test. She is very nice and humorous.
Lockwood is a professor that makes you WORK for your grade. Attendance is not mandatory but if you don't show up to class, you will not understand the material. Her grading system is confusing so you really don't know what you have until the very end... which sucks. There is online HW, regular quizzes, 2 projects, & 5 exams, TAKES EFFORT.
1. Professor Lockwood will LITERALLY never respond to emails (EVEN IF SHE READS THEM)! 2. Takes FOREVER to grade tests. Our class literally took the second test before we even knew what we made on the first one. 3. Professor Lockwood is a likeable person, but her class will make you not be her biggest fan. Oh, and she loves pop quizzes!
She is always ready to help, never has a bad day, and is always excited to teach! Her test are challenging but she does offer extra credit to supplement test difficulty. If you ever need her she is always in her office during office hours unless noted otherwise. Everything is planned and spaced out. Only complaint would be having test grades sooner
Professor Lockwood is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. The class is difficult not even going to lie, but as long as you attend her office hours and talk with her about it then you will do just fine!!
Professor Lockwood is a nice lady and trys to make things easy for her students. Its a fast paced course but you get to work in groups for assignments. She takes FOREVER to grade things, typically 4 to 5 weeks to get a test grade back which really irritated me and she cancels offices hours pretty often.
I would strongly recommend going to every class because if you don't you'll be very lost on all the quizzes and homework. You definitely have to work for your grade, but if you pay attention in class you'll pass. She really knows what she's talking about and made an otherwise challenging class seem do-able.
Dr. Lockwood is the BEST professor at SHSU. Statistics is a very hard course, but she teaches in a way that students are able to understand the material by making real world connections. If you are unsure, she does her best to explain until you're able to understand it.
Professor Lockwood is one of my favorite professors I have ever taken! She is so funny. She is very helpful whenever you need help. I wish I could take her again because she made me laugh and made me feel comfortable about a class I was very scared about. We became best-friends, and I will miss her so much. 4 test, final, and project.
Lockwood is the best!! She goes kind of fast during lectures but it isn't too difficult to figure out. Ask lots of questions to make sure you have a good idea of what you're doing. 4 written tests and a multiple choice final. One project that isn't super difficult. She's hilarious and is overall a great professor!
If you are someone who struggles in math she is not the prof to take. I have always struggled in math and I have to see all the steps in order to understand what to do, and Lockwood is the exact opposite. She will be working out problems and she will skips steps and go straight to the answer assuming you know what she just did. She works too fast.
This was easily my favorite class this semester. Professor Lockwood makes stats so easy and she is always willing to help, if you don't understand. 3 test and 1 project. One of my favorite professors I have ever taken at Sam. Would take again every semester
Professor Lockwood was okay. She is nice and sarcastic, but sometimes it can come across as rude. Her lectures were so hard for me to grasp at the beginning of the semester because she goes fast, so prepare yourself to focus. Don't zone out or you'll be lost within seconds. She does not respond to emails well and they are often dry.
She was honestly one of the best professors I have ever had. I'm currently taking her for Biomedical Statistics (Spring '19) and in February my 3yr old son was diagnosed with autism. She really worked w/me on bringing him to class so I could make it to his appts and helping me stay caught up. I'm truly grateful for her.
Biostats: Super laid back and helpful. Starts out hard then gets easier if you stick with it (end up being able to use notes on quizzes/tests). Online HW for each unit (you pay for this). Attendance isn't mandatory but you WILL be behind/lost. PAY ATTENTION- lectures are fast paced. Notes are given online but take additional ones. Practice.
Professor Lockwood is a fun professor with a good sense of humor. Although, her tests and quizzes are not multiple choice and graded by someone else that may mark your friends right and yours wrong. Her lectures are straight from a PowerPoint that wasnt very clear to me. Her stuff takes LOTS of practice so take this when youre not super busy
This class is difficult due to its fast pace, but Professor Lockwood does her best and is always available to help you. You have to buy an expensive online textbook that comes with the HW you'll be doing. Showing up to class is crucial and if you don't you won't pass. Just practice a lot and you'll be fine.
Lockwood is the BEST!! She is very caring of her students and will go out of her way to help the ones who need it. Extra credit is built in the course. I did not take the final and still made an A. The material was hard, but it was not difficult to learn. 4 tests, some quizzes, a project, online homework, and a final. TAKE HER!!
Professor Lockwood is a great teacher, however the class is very fast paced. Tests are not multiple choice and can be tough. Definitely need to attend every single class or you WILL get left behind, especially if you are someone who struggles with math. She will take the time to sit with you and explain if you need it.
Professor Lockwood is a great professor!! I too her for Intro to Biomedical Statistics which provides an extra point on your GPA for nursing school. She will help you out with group work and end of semester research paper and extra credit which is extremely easy if you just do it!! You wont regret taking her I promise!! 10000 RECOMMEND!!!!
Professor Lockwood really helps out her students and makes you laugh!! She is sarcastic and light hearted! Definitely take her for Biomedical Statistics because she provides word documents so you dont actually have to do math!! Also, you get to use notecards on exams after the first exam and everyone drops! Extra credit, 4 exams, final.
Prof. Lockwood was great! I took her for Statistics (Math 1369) and she really helped me understand the material, being that math is my worst subject. Only complaint is that she takes forever to respond to emails and puts grades in blackboard at the last minute. Just go to her office during her hours and print the powerpoints beforehand!!
She is a decent professor, but stats was just difficult for me. Lots of homework/worksheets, but they're easy. The test were hard, but like I said, bad at stats. She talks really fast in her lectures so be ready to pay attention. Do the homework after the lectures; it makes more sense back to back. 4 exams, 1 project, worksheets, & hw.
Not a quick learner or good at math, I suggest you choose another professor. Her communication via email is very poor and is slightly rude in person. She runs through her powerpoints and barely explains steps for problems. Don't get me wrong, she can be a sweet lady, but she doesn't seem to be considerate of her students. I did not enjoy this class
Since the COVID-19 situation forces everyone online, learning a tough subject like stats was made even worse. Her powerpoints make no sense, her explanations were terrible. I asked if she could lower the homework questions by 2 or 3 since I started working 2 jobs and I had no spare time. She emailed back basically telling me off. DO NOT TAKE
Hardest class I've taken so far. Lockwood moves fast and if I hadn't taken stat in HS I probably would've failed her class. I barely made it through but if you show up and try she won't let you fail.
Do not take her if you have a learning disability!! While everyone's grade was caught up and current, I had to badger her about getting my exams from the disability center because she neglected to walk up and get my exams (the building is right next the math building) I finally got my grades 3 exam grades during spring break.
No extra credit, we met one time a week for 45 minutes (when we were suppose to meet 3 times).Didn't finish the IN CLASS problems with us in class, no partial points on tests, and no help on video quizzes. I don' understand why this class was so difficult. Basically everyone is failing in my class. Good luck.
Professor Lockwood is the hardest professor I have taken here at Sam. I am horrible at math, and Professor Lockwood does not make it any easier. She has 4 tests with no curves. Along with one major project. She rushes through the PowerPoint, and the videos are confusing. I suggest you take another professor if you want to pass.
Poor communication, kind of short/rude. Would not suggest taking if youre not strong in math. Shes fast and teaches shortcuts but not where you understand what youre doing just how to get the answer the easiest way. exams are hard- its fill in and sometimes she throws stuff you hardly went over worth 10 +pts.
Mrs. Lockwood was a hard professor. She moves very fast through her powerpoints, there are 3-5 quizzes weekly, and she moves meeting in person to only one day a week, no matter if you signed up for a T/TH or M/W/F.. so alot of it is on you to study. She cares about her students but you have to work for it. Tests are all fill in the blank.
Lockwood was rude and unhelpful. Any guidance I asked for was given a blank and "figure it out" attitude by her. Mathematics is already difficult enough and she makes it even worse. Either grab a friend, a tutor, or some spiritual guidance for this class if you decide to take it.
This was the hardest class I had to take this semester. Ruined my GPA. No help was offered by the Prof, I'd gone onto a Zoom to prepare for a test and she never showed. I emailed her about what I could do for extra credit and she NEVER responded. If you're going to take Elementary Statistics at SHSU, do not take this professor.
I got an F on the first test and thought I was doomed but I got a B overall. To study for her tests do her practice problems until you have mastered them - they are very similar to the tests - the Connect Math homework will not help you! Final project is easy - just follow her template and you'll be fine. Professor Lockwood will not let you fail!
Prof. Lockwood is the BOMB. She will lay it out for you what to do and how to do then you on your own. If you dont follow her YOU WILL NOT PASS. She has a little sarcasm but if you actually take it in, youll see where you went wrong. Take her! Dont be fooled by her attitude you wont fail this class unless you dont follow her!
Math is usually not my strongest class, but this class and professor make passing IMPOSSIBLE. I reached out to her several times via email concerning my grade and was offered no substantial feedback or assistance. She always has an attitude and tells you that she is too lazy to do her job. Her videos offer no help and ConnectMath is so confusing.
By far the WORST professor I have come across. Way too sarcastic and rude. If you want to maintain a good GPA, DO NOT take her. Stats is not a hard class but she is such a tough grader and her tests are very confusing, that she will make you hate the class. I know these reviews can differ but I personally made an account to let yall know.
This professor is no good, do not take unless you want to drop the class, or maybe even drop out of school. Not a good class.
This class is HARD but Prof. Lockwood will help you. If you are sensitive, do not take her class. She is hilarious and tells it like it is, but extremely understanding. As long as you ask, she will help you with anything. Theres lots of homework and she teaches fast, but is willing to give you any extra assistance you need, just ASK. Love her
DO NOT TAKE HER UNLESS ITS THE LAST THING YOU HAVE! She treats her students like her peers but not in a good way by one uping us with her knowledge in statistics. She makes you feel bad for not knowing the material when you are taking the class to learn, not to compete with the professor and deal with her snide remarks.
DO NOT TAKE HER. She is a good person but a horrible professor. When asking a question she is very sarcastic, rude, and unprofessional. She does not help with questions and answers in an attitude like you should know how to do it already. So many people dropped the class where it was only 15 students left. Do Not TAKE HER.
If you are someone who struggles with math, then I would not suggest taking her class. She isnt always the best communicator and takes awhile to input grades. Does not respond to emails quickly either. I am a visual learner and the PowerPoints did not help much. Would not take her again. If you do, find a group of students and help each other out.
Professor Lockwood was a great teacher! The class itself is very hard definitely NOT an easy A. She is sarcastic. She cares about her students and will help you on any assignment. If you are struggling go into her office hours! There is A LOT of work, so be ready. If you actually try and don't expect an easy A you should be fine. We also had 6 test
She's a very nice lady who will try her best to help you. Online homework (I hated it) and in person exams. Gave extra credit. I would take her again
This professor is literally one of the worsts ones on campus, why? Well if taking her three times didn't come into account, then the fact that she goes too fast in the classes, so even when you do go, you don't understand. Only started understanding when I got a tutor and even then it didn't help. DO not take her if you can help it.
She is hilarious&personable, genuinely cares-GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS! I'm not a quick learner, but she cared that I understood&was patient with questions. She just has WS (u get multiple tries),homework&exams. Do the WS,optional reviews&you'll do great. Attendance is not taken. My FAVORITE prof. This is just a tough course, regardless of who you take.
The class moved pretty fast. you have assignments due every other week, but she teaches well. You just have to pay attention. The work itself is confusing but just go to her office hours and she'll explain more. Every test we took the class average was low, but extra credit is built into her grading system and she gives it at the end of the sem.
Worst professor ever! taught way too fast, asking for her help is useless she will not help. Her worksheets are supposed to resemble her test but they do not at all. This professor sets you up to fail. Highly recommend you NOT to take this professor if you struggle with math and don't already know how to do STATS.
This class itself was not that difficult. I will say that this professor in general is not a good teacher. She does not care about her students. She is unrelenting about assignments and does not reply to emails. She is very clearly only teaching for the money and should honestly be fired.
Professor Lockwood is chill and super understanding. I had her for stats and I did an honors contract with her. She will help you if you need it and she won't make you feel dumb. Her class isn't bad just attend lectures because she explains things in depth there. Aleks hw isn't bad as long as you don't procrastinate. Overall I would take her again!
She is an amazing teacher and a very nice person, but this class is fast-paced, and you need to show up and pay attention. She helps as best she can and spends days ensuring you understand, so ask her questions. This class is hard, but she makes it bearable.
Lockwood can be tough, but if you put in the work and use resources like Unstuck study, you can succeed. Her classes are challenging but manageable with the right mindset.
Professor Lockwood's class is rooted in self-paced online homework, assignments, and timed tests. While she does tend to rush through lectures, she provides Excel templates for every chapter, in class practice problems, and helps students without judgement. An awesome sense of humor and provides notes, tutorials, and extra practice on Blackboard.
She does not give a grading rubric which makes it very difficult in a Stats class where the FRQ are very dense and without the proper examples you are left for failure. She was a good person just not a good professor.
There are more exams than normal, but they are very easy and often only testing on one topic. If you have an A in the course, you do NOT need to take the final exam. She is very helpful in class and her lectures are very easy to understand. If you DO NOT attend class, it will be hard to do well. but if your there you'll get an easy A!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, this course is a little difficult. It is a college-level statistics course, so I'm not sure what you're expecting. Professor Lockwood made my time during her course very simple and straightforward. She is very willing to work with you if you are willing to put in the work to get a good grade. You will get out of this course what you put in.
Computer grades, not her but honestly she is genuinely a doll professor. If you are stuck just ask… she's a little EXTRA sarcastic but she doesn't mean any harm. Have A? Exempted from final. It's math.. and stats. No its not gonna be easy, but she teaches with excel and makes it super easy to plug everything in.
