She was a nice proffessor. Sometimes she would get confusing. Tests are not that bad if you study and pay attention in class

Poliak is an alright professor. She takes attendance by giving out pop quizzes but she gives you the answers at the end. There are 3 tests. There's HW and online quizzes (but u have 20 attempts). If you understand how to do the problems then you should be fine on the tests. Also, if you have B or higher you can opt out of the final which is a plus

Poliak is enthusiastic about her subject, seems like she has been at this for a while. All the technology seems messy at first, but it's the dept, not her. and you get used to it. Course is organized to help make sure you understand basics. Great professor, would take again!

This class made a woman out of me. No joke. She provides you with practice material, good preparation homework, and tests that will surely prepare you for the final. I liked that she was always responsive to my questions and it really appeared as if she cared about my grade. I would definitely take her again for other math classes.

This is the most amazing math professor that I have ever taken. She is sweet and kind and a fair grader. I made a 100 in her summer stats course and while it took some sleepless nights it was all worth it in the end. take her if you can because you will not regret it.

This was a hard, and there is a lot of homework. For the 3 tests throughout the semester, if you take the practice tests then 10% of that score counts as extra credit on the test itself. You can compare homework/quizz answers via discussion boards. Discussion is mandatory but helps your grade. Quizzes are multiple attempts. Lots of help available.

A great STATS professor. Im not a number person but she made STATS actually pretty interesting. Her notes are well organized, formatted very well. This helped me alot in understanding the lectures. Had weekly homeworks that were similar to what her in class examples, her quizzes were pretty straight forward. Her exams are not tricky, take her!

Dr. Poliak is an amazing professor. I was scared about taking stats, but she made this class super easy. Just do the quizzes and homework, and you will be prepared for the tests. Her reviews are very similar to what the tests are like. Easy A! Definitely recommend her!

Mrs. Poliak was amazing. She is so kind and genuine and taught her class to the best of her abilities. She responded to all questions & usually wouldnt move on until all questions were answered. Yes, her slides were about 30 pgs long, but that consisted of about 10 pages of informational slides and the rest she would work out problems. TAKE HER!!!

Took Statistics online, as long as you attend the live lecture sessions online or watch the recordings it is easy to make an A. Textbook is only used for homework. She's a good teacher and explains the concepts clearly, don't try to learn the material on your own.

I was terrified of Stats before this class, math is my worst subject and I was able to make an A. Just do the hw every week as well as the quizzes (check course hero) and you will do just fine. She is a wonderful professor and will answers any questions to help you understand. Opting out of the final is an option if you have a B after your exams

3 tests with final. Tests are 65% of total grade. Heavy workload. Tests are from reviews and not that difficult considering other University classes. 10% quiz, 5 % poppers, 5% discussion, 15% homework. Lectures are great. She is a great professor. Always help you on the quizzes and homework if you ask.

She is an amazing professor! She definitely cares about her students because she stays after class to answer questions and has office hours multiple times a week. She also puts her blank PowerPoint online before class and then completed ones after. She also works out every problems which makes is so much easier. She also stops for questions.

In an auditorium sized class, she still made the class feel small and personal! lots of assignments but if you pay attention, they're easy! She is also very adorable and fun! She seems caring (even though I never talked to her) Her ppts are actually very helpful and she reviews things that will be on the test on sometimes what is on quizzes.

Really awesome professor whose lectures genuinely got me interested in statistics. Course covered fundamentals of statistics including distributions, sampling and hypothesis testing among other topics. Invest some time in learning R, it will save you a lot of time later when you have to take exams at CASA (since R is available to use there).

RECOMMENDED! She is really clear and straightforward. She is willing to go an extra step explaining to you so you can understand in and outside class. Excellent lecture pace, with around 15-20 minutes early class dismissal. Really nice and always waits for students who may need to ask question after each slide. She provides popper answers.

Dr. Poliak is a very great professor. She seems very devoted to her work and really wants her students to learn. Sometimes she rushes through, but if you ask for help, she will explain the subject. I would take her again. Do the homework and retake the quizzes and practice tests multiple times and no reason you shouldn't pass.

Poliak is AMAZING and SO SWEET! The class is basically all on Courseware so there are lots of quizzes and homework assignments. She also does poppers at every class, so I would not recommend skipping. The material is fairly easy, if you have any problems she's happy to help. TAKE HER!

About 2 assignments and 1 quiz (can take multiple times) due each week and 3 exams during the semester. You will need the book to do homework assignments. I had lots of questions throughout the semester and she would always email back pretty quickly. Only thing I didn't like was that when you took a quiz and got an answer wrong, no explanation

I like her she is a great professor and would take her again. Warning stats starts off really easy, but ends kinda hard so towards the end of the semester don't slack off like me because the material is not that bad but a little confusing if not paying attention. Attendance mandatory because of poppers and lots of hw, 2 tests, final.

Condenses the class to the simplest way possible, lectures are very straightforward and please just put a tiny amount of effort and you'll get the A.

Mini Summer Session- It's the easiest 3 week summer math class to take especially with Prof. Poliak, 3 Test (Only have to take 2, opt out Test 3--Online Test), 14 Quizzes, 1 Final (In Casa).

I came into this class thinking Statistics would be really hard, but Professor Poliak was INCREDIBLY helpful! She told everybody (with a smile and a laugh) that less than half of her students get an A, and more than half fail. Don't let that discourage you though! Her lectures are really easy to understand and she's always available to help you out

Excellent professor for the Online Math 2311 class. Dr. Poliak is MOST helpful with HW, quiz assignments, and tests. Very helpful for students enrolled with CSD :) She makes Statistics approachable for the non-inclined Math student population. Thank you Dr. Poliak!

Took online over the summer. Very forgiving grading criteria (drops 1 out of 3 tests, drops 2 out 8 hw, 10 pts ex-cred from each practice test). Watch all the recorded lectures (abt 2-3 hrs per week), attend the live lectures (2 hours per week), ask questions, do hw and quizzes (quizzes have up to 20 attempts)... easy A if you actually work at it.

She's really clear! I loved taking her summer online stat class. Super friendly and responsive.

Got a 102 in this class and I hate math. Professor made it easy to learn the content. PTs are harder than the actual test and they are EC on the tests. One quiz, 2 HW dropped. She is very responsive on the discussion board! Participation counts as a grade on the board also. Struggled with content at first, but an A was not hard to obtain.

Super responsive and supportive for you. She is willing to spend some time with you after class for help. Her lectures are clear and concise. She assigns multiple choice homework. There are quizzes and tests too, but she will remind you at the beginning of class everyday. I would love to take her again!

I took this class over summer semester online. Dr. Poliak is very organized, patient, helpful and a clear grader. Do the work, get the A. Try to attend all live lectures if you can. Offered EC and last test was opt out. Wish this professor taught more math classes, I'd be set.

Amazing proffesor, she is clear and will answer questions. One quiz and 1 homework each week, poppers everyday. Tests are not hard just attend class, test reviews and study the study guide. Class requires work, but its not hard to get an A.

The class (STAT) is REALLY EASY. The material is easy and she gives many examples. Her reviews are exactly the same as the tests so I got more than 100 on all 3 since she also offers extra credit. 1 sheet of homework every week not a lot but worth the same as quizzes in the end. This class won't give you any problems.

Homework is the usual as any other math course thats not upper level, with the online quizzes, practice tests, and written homework to be submitted online. Not really much to say. The tests were fair, and pretty easy. She is a very great professor who cares very much about her students.

GREAT teacher! her tests are super easy, you could study the material the day before and get an A. 1 quiz and 1 hw assignment every week, daily attendance quizzes in class. i thought i would struggle in the class but this turned out to be one of my easiest classes! i definitely learned a lot in here. If this class is mandatory, take her!

She's so great! I don't know how she does it but she makes statistics fun. The tests are easy and you get up to 10 extra points on each exam with her extra credit opportunities. There are weekly online quizzes and homework. They're frequent, but an easy A if you understand the material. I got a 101 in her class. Take her!

Tests are very easy as long as you follow lectures. There are plenty of extra credit opportunities. There is a lot of homework and online quizzes but that is the usual. I took the online lecture and participation matters via casa. She is very available outside of the online lectures and is a very sweet lady. Probably the easiest stats professor.

Poliak is really great at teaching and explaining the material. Shes also really nice and doesnt mind repeating and answering questions. The class was also easy. It can be hard to sit through her class because she is kinda soft spoken. She seems to enjoy teaching so that is nice.

This class is as easy as it can be. Find old exams they are great practice. She records her lectures and emails back quickly. There is a HW and quiz due weekly. 2 midterms and a Final. Exam 2 is a little difficult and is usually curved. I would take her again.

Great professor. I'm not usually good at math, like I barely passed college algebra, but she makes the material really easy to understand and I got an A. She has poppers everyday (but she gives you the answers) and one quiz and one homework assignment each week.

I took professor Poliak for statistics in the fall(2 months). She honestly cares for every student and wants everyone to understand the material. If you are stuck on a subject, ask. She will repeat it over so you can truly understand the whole subject. If you follow the lectures, hw,quizzes and tests are easy.

Really cares about her students and teaches many different ways to help her students understand. Gives a very clear outline of what will be on the exams as well, plus will help with homeworks.

Professor explains everything thoroughly. The homework will be somewhat tougher than what she covers in class. This is a 3k level course, so expect to put maybe 2 hours a week outside of class, or pull an all nighter before the test and you will get an A on all tests easily. If you did fine on calculus 1 or 2, you're fine for this class

Really great professor. Cares about students and wants everyone to do well. Clear grading scale. A lot of material to learn but not unexpected for a 3000 level course. Theres a discussion board for the online section that you have to keep up with for "attendance" so make sure to check it. 2 midterms and 1 final (replaces lowest midterm score).

Sweet and caring professor. The honors section has a Group Project, choose your group wisely. Just make sure to understand the problems from homework, quizzes and practice tests, you'll be fine.

I rarely went to class, but be sure to review lecture slides and past pdfs of exams and understand the work. 2 exams and 1 final, super easy if you make time for it. Final can replace lowest midterm grade. Dr. Poliak is the sweetest and receptive to questions. Homework is bulky. EC is offered (up to 10 points I believe per exam). TAKE HER!

The class is A LOT of work, but that isn't really her fault since the entire math department is quiz heavy via CASA. However, by doing all of the quizzes, it forces you to learn the material. She's really sweet.

Very wholesome and passionate professor. The format of the class is neat and consistent. Tests are a bit tough on grading but it was an enjoyable course overall. There is a group project final at the end of the semester that was pretty lax and definitely saved my grade.

Poliak will be the first to let you know she is very passionate. I took her course during the Summer and, while it was slightly fast-paced, it was reassuring to know that the professor was easily reachable and did her best to help us students whenever possible. We had to participate in discussions, but as a result, everyone supported each other.

MATH 3349 is not a trivial course, but prof helps you along every step of the way (patiently answering questions during lectures, promptly replying to messages outside of class, providing EC opportunities) to achieve the best grade possible. I'm no math major or genius, but this course was pretty digestable for a 4000 level math course. If you actually put effort in the homeworks, the exams are a breeze. All assignments followed along with the weekly lectures pretty well. The group project was simple. Presentation is optional for extra credit. First exam in class, last exam take home.

I took Dr. Poliak's MATH4322 and MATH4339 back to back and you can tell how much thought and care she puts into her lectures. She genuinely wants everyone to understand the coursework and is very patient when you ask questions. There are homeworks,weekly labs,2 midterms,and a group project due at the end of the semester instead of a final.

MATH 3349: she was great. a homework every other week and she posted every single lecture and the completed lecture notes online. No offense to those other two reviews but they just weren't that smart or something - I only did the cheat sheet and got a B. Very clear, very savvy, makes jokes. Major figure in the budding stats department. Take her!
