Dr. Skidmore-Hess is a great teacher. World History is definitely not my forte, but she was very helpful when I didn't understand something. Her lectures that I did get to sucked though. And she has a bizzare obsession with the holocaust. As in she spent 2 full weeks of a 5 week summer class talking about it.

She is an amazing professor. Her class is straightforward, 3 book quizzes and 3 tests (including the final). She does take attendance daily. You do have to purchase TopHat so be aware of that. The book quizzes are all easy reads. I bought the textbook but haven't touched it. The tests are the same exact questions from the study guide she gives you.

Th class isnt hard there is just A LOT of ready that you have to do for tests and quizzes. She offers extra credit but never but on my extra credit even after I asked her in class and sent two emails so I ended up with a high B. Lectures are very boring and tests are just like the study guide.

This class wasn't difficult. Once you figure out how to prepare for the tests, you will do just fine. She gives a study guide for each test that uses the same questions and answers as the tests. There is a lot of reading you have to do though, but overall shes great! Her lectures are long and boring but you will do well if you put in little effort.

Shes the most boring and unorganized professor youll have but the class is a breeze. She gives you study guides that are word for word her tests. There are a few reading quizzes but you can pass without reading. Never touched the textbook or took notes in class and Im ending with a high A. Class is a good time to do other homework

Overall really good. Her class is lecture heavy and they can run on for awhile so its hard to pay attention sometimes but she dose give study guid for each test which is super helpful. She dose have us read different books before each test and quizes us on them but its not super bad. 4 test, few discussion post and the books. Thats pretty much it

Dr. Skidmore-Hess was always willing to answer questions. She also made lecture more personal, humorous, and entertaining. Also, she is always available for office hours and easy to talk to! She truly cares about her students. Dr. Skidmore-Hess has graphic novels as some of the required texts for HIST 1112! Highly recommend for HIST 1112! ^-^

definitely recommend her for HIST 1112, it was an easy class. we had 4 exams and weekly discussions, 2 of the exams were 20% of your grade and the remaining were 25% while discussions were 10%. she had study guides which really helped, most of the answers were on the textbook and the others were from videos/docs she posted.

I don't know what it is about her. She is a great lecturer, but I could not figure out how to take notes in her class. It is very hard to figure out what assignments are due and how you are supposed to complete them. Her study guides are basically the exam. The only bad thing, she requires 8 textbooks and they are just comic books. Literally.

HIGHLY suggest her minimester course! I dreaded required history & got an A+. Tests straight from the material she gives in content. It's a lot since it was condensed, but being a mini 4-week course means it wasn't dragged out for 16 weeks! 1 test, 1 post, 1 reply each week, plus 2 short essays 200~ words, so not many grades but EASY to get an A.
