Class very boring, she doesn't talk much about the subject. I heard more about peoples personal experience then I wanted too. Reading is boring and long. She thinks this is our only class.

Horrible class. I can't believe that people who want to become teachers have to take it. All we do is read articles, which isn't bad, but paying $500 for that class to read articles is rediculous!

Why would anyone in their right mind actually like this class?

Avoid this course at all cost. its def not worth the pain and torture.

Apparently, the two people who gave this teacher a good rating are either ****s or just plain retarded. This is, by far, the WORST class in history. Coe is way out of her league when it comes to teaching, and she should be fired/executed.

Worst teacher I have ever had- not concerned with students- poor speaker, overall not destined to be a professor. She should really go back to Africa where she studied and stay there!!!

I was warned by at least 50 people about her, and attempted to take her anyway. I'm an Honors student, I have a 3.8 gpa, and I, after the first day, knew this was too much. She CANNOT relate, and she was rude to me after I told her I'd be missing a day to take my PRAXIS!!!!

It’s unbelievable that this teacher hasn’t been fired yet. In no other field but teaching would someone with her incompetence level be able to not only land a job but keep it. She is the absolute worst teacher ever. The sooner she leaves this school, the better.

I was very upset by her methods of teaching i am a solid B student and i felt that rutgers should have fired her years ago. i finally dropped her class mid way through the semester i dropped while i was holding a b in her class. Ms. Coe expected a lot of trivial " busy" work as i like to call it,she wasnt really teaching & it was a waste of money.

where do i start. SHE IS CRAZY.assigned readings are like 80 pages per class section not to mention her 1950's articles. WHy is she teaching anyways? a total NUT. DO NOT TAKE HER your gpa will suffer.

Shes an ass.

There was only one thing I learned from this class...the type of teacher I DO NOT WANT TO BE!!!...There are six of us that are bonded for life because we survived her class. Even when SHE ADMITTED HER DIRECTIONS WERE VAGUE...she wouldn't change our grade on our project. She needs Jesus, all I can do is pray for her tormented soul.

STAY AWAY!!!! She is nuts....expects 60-70 page articles due every class, and expect a quiz on almost every one. I cannot stress enough that she is just terrible and pure evil. And her gold vest needs to be burned.

This woman has no business teaching future teachers. Her workload is more than substantial and she seems to have no idea that students generally have more than one class in a semester. The articles she has us read are outdated and based more specifically in anthropology. I have no aspirations of becoming an anthropologist.

WORST there is not enough room in this box to describe how horrible this teacher is. i'm in my last semester at rutgers and i have never had a teacher that was half as horrible as coe. she should have never been allowed to teach in the first place.

She was the absolute worse professor that I ever had while attending Rutgers. She is etremely boring, disconnected, and her readings were from five decades ago. Hypothetical note- If I was told that I was required to take one more class upon graduation and she was the professor then I would drop out of Rutgers.

Horrible Professor. She is all over the place. Here ideas are very weird and her lectures does not make any sense. Didn't learn anything in he class and reccommend anyone planning to take this class really give it a lot of thought. Worse professor i ever had. i think she uses pills or drugs because she never has a thought always forgets.

Among the worst I've ever had. She has ridiculous expectations of the students and her lectures and expectations are really unclear. Tough grader on top of it. Avoid her at all costs!

Cati Coe is useless! She doesn't give you enough time to finish your MidTerm, and it's almost impossible to pass the exams because she'll write "Excellent Point" "Very Interesting" etc. and still you'll only have gotten a 12/15 and when asked "you should have gone further". And her quizzes are 10 Q's multiple choice, but the Q's are so obscure.

She was probably the worst professor I've ever had. The amounts of work were beyond ridiculous..gave us 5 long novels to read in one semester and expected us to know every single detail. Also expects all essay questions to be answered in the way she thinks..if you answer any other way, its wrong. Would never, ever, ever take a class with her again.

I can't stand this class. You have to read 5 books in one semester and have a 500 word and over paper due every time you come to class. You have no time for other classes because if you don't put your all into her mini papers you get check minus and thats a D. Her lectures are long as hell and are about nothing you just read.

The lectures are long and the papers are even longer. She's a very smart professor but gives way to much homework and reading.

Assigns way too many books to read and only gives a short amount of time to read. Goes over books after she gives the quizzes. quiz on every book every two weeks. Midterm and final are all written essay exams. Try to take course in the spring instead or you'll flunk the course.

She honestly shouldn't teach. That's all I have to say. Oh, and she made us all buy a book that her friend wrote. The readings were immensely boring, conversation dull. Do not bother. Take any other immigration course but hers. And if hers is the only one, don't bother. Watch a documentary or something. You'll learn more.

Terrible. She wants short answers on exams. There's no textbook and there are like 5 books you have to read for her class. She expect you to read them in a week or two. Wtf she acts like her class is the only class people are taking. People nowadays have jobs and go to school.

Professor Coe is very tough. Doesn't care for athletes. Makes you read 5 books and has quizzes and exams on specific things from those books. Exams are basically all writing. Quizzes and exams are worth 90% of your grade, so if you do bad, you're screwed. DO NOT TAKE HER, TAKE ANOTHER ANTHROPOLOGY COURSE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

She is terrible. You have a small amount of time to read each of the 5 books. There is a midterm and a final that are nothing but essays. She grades really tough and if you leave out one detail, she does not like giving partial credit.

Definitely the worst teacher I've ever had in my life. I had to withdrawal from her class because it was literally impossible to pass. She makes you read about 6 ethnographies throughout the semester and they're impossible to understand. Don't take her or you will fail.

Her quizzes are easy.. BUT the amount of reading required for this intro class in just insane. It's suitable for a part time student. If you somehow manage to make it through the reading, the writing assignments will screw you. Basically if you don't write exactly what she wants you to say, you get a bad grade. Do not take this class by choice!

For an Intro to Cultural Anthropology class or any intro class, there is way too much reading. You only get 2 weeks to read each book (Theres 5) and then you take a quiz on the book you read. If you dont read, you fail.. The point is if you are gonna take her course, read the books. The exams are on lecture!!!!! You must show up to her classes.

She is very difficult. Se makes you read 5 books over the course of a semester that 300 pages+. As soon as you are finished reading one book you are expected to start reading the next while you will be quizzed on what you just read and in a weeks time examined. It is way too much for an elective. To much of a reading load.

Her class ruined my GPA. I needed to take her class because of my major but couldnt drop it because of my full course load . Worst professor I ever had. Do not take her class! I read all her books and still got a D...

Professor Coe is a very difficult professor, she does not extend anything, DO NOT BE LATE TO HER CLASS!!!! She keeps track of that too and will tell you at the end of class to come in on time. We started with 14 students in the class and we are down to 6. She makes you write tons of papers, she grades your papers as if you're writing a book. AVOID!

Soc of Ed She requires about 3 essays outside of the written response for every single class based on a reading every class. She grades hard. But if you absolutely have to take her its bearable just expect a c if ur lucky a B. I dont think an A is possible. She gave us a second chance for our first essay. But I dont know if thats a guarantee.

She also always spells my name incorrectly which is makes zero sense considering it is on my papers and emails.

Professor Coe is so into Anthropology she forgets that almost no one else taking this class is into anthropology. She expects you to write many papers, read four books, and take lectures with quizzes embedded in them. Be ready to work harder in this course than any science and you still won't get an A. Do not take her!!

There arent enough characters to explain how awful this class was. Get ready to write a ton of papers that she grades according to how she would write them. The quizzes in the lectures are based on tiny details in the 4 books were forced to read. Dont ask for help, shell tell you your work is fine then turn around and critique it to no end.

WORST professor Ive ever had. Wont thoroughly read your paper yet she assigns so many. We have had conversations with her about it and then shell change the grade to keep us quiet. She expects you to somehow read her mind and write what she thinks despite her years of experience. She doesnt want you writing your own perspective EVER.

This professor is the least favorite professor Ive ever had. She is rude and thinks that her class is the only class you are taking. all you do is write papers that seem impossible to pass because you get one thing wrong and she fails you. Shell mark you late even if you arent just because she didnt see you at the beginning of class.

class requires 4 books, 2 papers each. back to back due dates. really descriptive prompts. you don't get a break, ever. taken writing extensive courses before but this ""intro"" class is HORRIBLE. strict on attendance and participation... props to her for remembering everyone's names though lol LET THIS BE YOUR WARNING!! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!

Do not take this professor. Very egoistic and thinks her class is the only one you have in your schedule. Four 200+ page books, harsh grader. If you don't write what is aligned with her opinion you will fail the paper. 8 papers in total, each prompt is VERY DIFFICULT to process and write. Deducts points everytime you don't talk in class. All nuts.
