class is easy, but to many lectures makes u wanna sleep...she also puts lost of emphasis on it may be difficult for those esl students, to understand...
this teacher's lecture is kinda boring..does make you very sleepy. she is really nice and understanding..she gave me an F, but gave me another chance to turn it into a B in the end. (she takes attendance seriously and notes writing
boring lectures/easy class. Takes attendance at the beginning of class. 2 tests (final and midterm), and an essay on a museum visit.. Listen to the lectures cuz they're on the test. Test consists of 10 m/c and 6 slide identification.
Great Instructor. Her experiences are diverse and help to offer an interesting point of view.
Very exhausting and long lectures. Everything that she will test on will be in the lectures. Do not miss a class or you will miss something important. She has you buy four books for the class. If you attend all classes and take good notes you will not
lectures the whole class but it was interesting as i was into the subject matter. visit to asian art museum at Stanford. tests are super easy becuz its on the same exact subjects she's been lecturing about all class long.
Nice teacher.2 papers required for the course and it's easy to get an A as long as you answer the questions she wants you to answer. You don't have to be fancy or anything.Extra credit available which is worth 5 whole points added to your final grade.
very boring, two lame papers, tests are easy but worded like she's retarded, she is an easy grader though, and she's really into the subject, even though most students are sleeping. oh, and she's a hippy
She is pretty boring I'll admit, but it's a relaxing class. The tests are really easy if you study enough because she tells you what they will be on. She is pretty strict on attendance so if you cut a lot, I wouldn't recommend this class. She seems to care
Really nice teacher. Class is mostly to do with slides of artwork and discussions. Quizzes and tests are easy, just make sure to study those slides becuz they're worth a lot. 2 research papers were easy to do. Fair grading, gives extra credit!
Professor Cadge-Moore is an awesome teacher. she is very helpful and is always trying to make sure her students understand the material. her tests and quizes are pretty easy. and she is just really nice.
This HIPPIE teacher is really Easy!!!Really Into the subjects and all you have to do to get a good grade is to attend the classes and take good notes. Easy Grader just BS the essays and your guarunteed a B.
If you can take notes and read you will make an A in this class. She requires two essays but she is a very easy grader. You just need to do a lot of readings but the quizes and the tests are fairly easy.
She was very nice but gets easily annoyed if you interupt while she is lecturing. She will makes everything simple and to the ponit. She is also very fair.
This class sucks! BORING! If you stay awake you have a good chance on the exams. I thinks Cadge-Moore is RUDE. She makes comments about people who don't do so well on her papers.
I HATE THIS CLASS! Cadge-Moore sucks!
the class was interesting some of the time, but for a majority of it, i had to try hard to not fall asleep. she is a great person though. she's real passionate about the stuff she teaches. (too bad the lectures were boring...)
pay attention & take good notes and you really won't have to do much reading! make flash cards for the study slides, they make all the difference! she is an awesome teacher!
Very little reading. If you take good notes and study the slides, you'll do fine. Lectures are boring but the class is more enjoyable when she has the class participate.
very easy class, little homework, takes notes and study them. but boring class.. easy to fall asleep
This was one of the easiest classes I took in De Anza! All you need to do is photocopy the slides and write at least five comments on them to memorize. She quizzes everying from her lecture. I never read any of her books.
Very interesting class. Papers are fun to do. Teacher is very nice and you learn lots on art and culture. Highly recommend..easy A.
Excellent teacher. Must pay attention and show up. Take her don't pass her up. She'll take everyone just show up and don't leave.
I felt cheated out of learning something interesting. She lectures about the utter basics & teaches nothing more than you could figure out for yourself. Lectures consist of a few regurgitated paragraphs from the readings, but nothing beyond the books. Very easy A, especially if you show up.
Pretty easy class. Not much written work but alot of reading. Lectures will put you to sleep and she jumps around alot so its hard to take notes but stay awake and listen and you will do well.
She's a awesome teacher. She's got a hippy sense to her so it makes the class interesting when she talks. Her tests and quis are not to hard you just have to review the material. But overall she's pretty neat, and if your looking for a interesting class she's the teacher to have.
take her.. not too much works...
I sure do give her credit for trying to make a boring class interesting and trying to get the students involved. SHE REALLY WORKS HARD, probably harder than the students do... didn't like the subject but liked the teacher and the way she presented it. Clearly and Effectively RECOMMENDED
Class is based on 2 papers/quiz/midterm/final.Four books were required for this class, I bought all of them and didnt even read them, but I needed them for the art work. Easy A, come everyday because if u miss a day youll miss alot. She moody at times&takes it out on the class other than that she co
She jumps around a lot. You have to buy 4 text books. Quite boring subject, but she is helpful. She is very liberal.
Easy class, don't buy the books. You won't need them. Pay attention to lectures.
She is very sweet and informative. She took a subject that isn't always exciting and made it good. Her voice and facial expressions start to annoy you a little bit after a while. But overall I liked her class it was very good and would recommend her. She works very hard!
Shes a great teacher but the subject is boring as hell, she makes it somewhat interesting, shes really easy because she assumes you dont know too much about art, she goes over all the slides you need to know for the midterm and final, so there is no way you can fail if you take notes. her papers are easy as long as you do them. great teacher
This is a very easy, semi-interesting class. You don't need to read the book if you take notes and come to class. As a teacher, she is VERY condescending and treats students as children.
Aside from the fact that she loves to belittle DeAnza students and tell us we are essentially "nothing". This class is pretty easy and she explains things rather clearly, just try to stay awake.
She's cool meaning she's really easy. Just one precaution: don't take a class directly after hers. Or if u do, make sure it is in a close location because, this quarter she has let us out at least 2-5 minutes late every single day. Which is really irritating.
She's nice. Her tests are easy because she goes over everything. There were two papers, which is unusual. Her PC attitude and dumbing the subject down so that Everybody can understand takes time and can make you fall asleep. Even when the lights go out so she can show slides. But don't worry if you do, she's nice about it.
Class is relatively easy, she goes over the material in depth. I just studied the all the midterm slides and took notes for each slide from the text a day or two before the test and studied them like mad. Class participation assignments are VERY EASY. Two research papers, one short, and 1 long, just be descriptive.
very interesting class, she is really helpful, enjoy this class very much. it is an easy class if you take notes. don't worried about reading, just study the slide review.
i hate her. she isn't helpful at all. late reply email. and she isn't willing to help students.
not a hard class at all but shes the worst teacher to listen to.one of those teachers who are way overly sensitive and PC.She talks way to much for the amount of info you get.If you can manage 2stay awake,or have the motivation to go to her boring lectures, then its not too hard.Ive taken 4 different ArtHist classes & this was not typical, its harder
Catie, is a great professor, and the class is really easy. I would not recommend buying all 4 books, instead go to a library and check them out, Or take notes, you'll be fine.
she's an alright teacher. very knowlegable and passionate about art. it's a hella boring class for me because i don't have an eye for art, but she tries her best to keep u interested though. not a bad teacher.

Very good teacher. May bore you with lectures but she wants you to get the stuff down on the mid-term and final. She's also friendly and helpful. Take her if you have the chance.
One EXCELLENT Professor! Her class is NOT boring at all like other people says here. She is fun and helpful and will even allow you to make up for EC.Just attend her class as she does not like people who are absent all the time. Her lectures are fun,and taking notes will really help you.I totally recommend!
She's a really nice lady and her class is really easy, but she has major issues with being punctual. Don't expect to get exams back the next day or even the next week, try 6 weeks later. Same with assignments. She didn't turn in her final grades in on time and I almost missed a turn in date for a final transcript. Just be worned.
I passed both test passed the Museum visit paper and she still failed me cause of bad attendence....

Excellent class! Great teacher, you learn a lot and if you follow everything she says you will do well in all the quizzes and exams. For someone who has never studied US art and history, in six weeks I have learnt a lot! Can't go wrong with this teacher and class. "Spoon-feeds" you all the stuff you need to know for the exams, what more can u ask!
Very easy, very lenient. During exams will give prompts if students look puzzled. Point structure a little odd, and lectures not terribly engaging. Tries really hard, and is very enthusiastic about the material. Repeats herself many times, and it's easy to tell which slides she will choose for an exam. Nice lady, very helpful. Online textbook.
She's pretty easy if you read your textbook. That's where everything on the test comes from. Good idea to keep an art index for each art piece with the artist/title/points next to it. On a side note, the light and mood of the classroom tends to make you sleepy (I don't deny I've fallen asleep). Good luck! She's great
Online textbook.very passionate
its pretty easy if you take notes, read the online chapters and thats it, youll pretty much get a B or higher. the only thing is, she goes on and on, she doesnt know when to stop and just hand out the damn papers! her lectures are boring but it helps on the tests. her tests are easy: multiple choice and short essay for slides. shes really nice!
Do the following and get an A. Stay awake and take a lot of notes as she lectures on each slide in a dimmed room (laptops help). Go to the review sessions. Exams: she show the slide and you write as much as you can about it. 1 class paper, visit a local museum, take pictures, write about it.
this must be the easiest class i had since PE! exam (2) are very easy. in class she will lecture on a bunch of art works, but she will tell you which one to study (study slide). just take notes on those and you be fine. she very kind when grading the exam too. overall, she wants you to pass her class!
personally, i thought this class was really boring. dont take it unless you really enjoy art. because she shows slides, the room is always dimmed which makes me more sleepy. pay attention and you'll do fine. one essay, 2 exams. a few handouts. one extra credit.
shes a good taecher bc shes passionate about what shes tyring to teach but seirosuly if u DO NOT LIKE ART DO NOT TAKE IT.I am not interested in art. this was supposed to be an easy class but its NOT. Its alot of memorization. Her final and midterm consists of u memorizing about 20+ slides and info about them and what they mean and such.
She is very clear and it was great taking her class. Just pay attention and learn something new about each slide. I really enjoyed this class I learned a lot about asian cultures and their religious beliefs. A must take class!! :)
This class was exceptional. I really enjoyed how we learned about the context of the artwork along with the history behind the pieces. I think this class should be mandatory. I would take one of her classes again and again and again!!!!
Catie is a good teacher I took arts 2f last quarter, this class was fun and the teacher is great. I learned alot in Catie's class, and was able to raise my grade to a 3.8. Don't be lazy read the material, and study at test time, and you'll get an A.
Wow, how to describe Catie...this class was the biggest waste of my time in all my years at De Anza. I am an art lover, but the way she teaches makes me never want to visit a museum again. VERY patronizing (is you are an ESL student, prepare to be degraded), and has the most annoying voice I've ever heard. The material is only the art SHE likes.
OVER ALL SHE IS A GREAT PROFESSOR. THE CLASS DOES GET BOARING BUT IT PAYS OF IF U LISTEN TO. IF YOU READ THE ONLINE TEXTBOOK UR WILL DO FINE AND ATTEND CLASS AND TRY TO STAY AWAKE U WILL DO FINE. ALL THOUGH SHE DOES LIKE TO POINT PPL OUT THAT ARE LEAVING CLASS EARLY HEH
While this class is incredibly easy and she is helpful, the information and artwork presented is biased and the facts are skewed. This class should be reviewed for accuracy of content/style of online text. Little discussion is made time for and disagreeing with facts is not encouraged. Go to this class if you don't like to think much.
I liked Catie. She's really nice. Although the class can get a lil' boring at times, but her material was actually pretty interesting to learn and read about. I would recommend to sit in front so you can pay attention more, because I noticed that the people in the back would either fall asleep or just be in their own worlds.
Catie is a very nice and sweet teacher. She is so friendly and very approachable if you are in need of help. I took this class for credits and ended up taking her class again. Shes a great teacher.
Her class was extremely boring, but maybe that's because I hate art. It was not a hard class. She is kind of annoying and has really weird face expressions. She constantly degrades international students. She'd explain a concept and right after, would say, it's often hard for international students to understand.
She is such a moody person. Yes, she is helpful and trying hard to be nice, but you will learn nothing from her. I am sick of those meaningless and stupid discussions. Boring and not interesting at all. Waht a waste of time. I mean it!
One of the nicest teachers I've ever had. She treats the class like five year olds but not in a condescending way. Easiest class I've had at De Anza for sure. The subject matter is not very interesting but she makes the class a cake walk. Good way to get your ICS credit done easily. Easy grader too. Shes almost too nice to be a teacher.
No textbook in her class! Every material is given out to you from her site. Read all the chapters and listen! you'll be good! Gives extra credit options like go to the museum. You have to go to class to do activities. I like her cause im interested in art but most students find this class boring.
Very nice person. But her lectures are sometimes confusing, so try to do the reading before you go to class. STUDY THE STUDY SLIDES!!! She's not good at pronouncing foreign words, some people would find that annoying, but you just have to learn to deal with it. overall the class isn't hard, just do the work and try to pay attention in class
I was not interested in art history before and will never be thanks to her. If you don't like droning lectures don't take her. She's a really nice and helpful prof but if you like a challenge do not take her. Needed to make this a P/NP class because it was going to drop my GPA.
She is one of the best art history instructors ever! She's much more challenging than Pasturel or Mjelde. There are actually hw assignments unlike most other classes. Her class is interesting and she encourages us to join in the discussions. Very nice and very helpful. No textbook- she provides online readings.
Wonderful teacher, She knows her stuff so well and made me interested in what she has to teach. However it was pretty hard remembering everything especially foreign words. However she does her best and she is relatively easy. I recommend her! I learned alot from this class and shes so passionate about teaching us. Very understanding also!
Great art history teacher! i had little interest in this class but she made it fun and very interesting. She is extremely passionate about art that it makes you want to learn more. The text book is online and free! Another plus! Also if you're a foreign student she seems to really make sure you understand the material. Definately take her!
I personally couldn't get engaged in lecture but she is very passionate and knowledgable of the subject. Essay exams are easy if you pay enough attention in class and study, attendance is necessary for points, easy ish essay..I ditched a lot, opted out of a small pt presentation, gots A's on tests & essay, and got a B+ overall. There's EC too.
class is too easy. just read up on her online text about the study slides, show up for class and listen to her lectures about the slides you have to study, i did all my studying in her class, passed with an A. offers EC and a presentation, but I opted out of that and still got an A. 1 midterm 1 final, and in class assignments - go to class!!!
The midterm and final are the same format and in-class. Another component of the final: paper of museum exhibit. Extra credit really helps. She's very passionate so I think that's what makes the class interesting. Recommended!
Great teacher, and is very passionate and knowledgeable about the subject. If you need help, she always seems joyful to help you. Recommended!
She's a very straightforward teacher, and she's passionate about the subject. She grades fairly and has only two quizzes and one midterm, one final, and two museum papers. Catie has three extra credit opportunities and getting an A in her class is not hard if you attend class almost every day. She doesn't mind absences if you're doing well.
Nothing to say that she is a very extremely helpful teacher that i have ever had. Even I am not interested in this class, I had to say that it is very hard class, but she is so really nice to help u out anytime. 1 midterm & 1finals which based on the the study guide.Even I am not good at this class, but with my full attendance and my effort,i got A
Nice teacher. Take her class. Online book to read.
she's passionate, passive, and very pleasant. her tests were tough; a lot of paragraph answers, only 10 multiple choice. a lot of 2 point assignments, 1 major paper, midterm, and final, that's all. I would highly recommend her.
Wonderful teacher. I'm very happy I took her. She is passionate and knowledgeable at what she does. It made the classes go by so quick because I was so involved. Would recommend and take her again.
she is really good, and I didn't expect that I got A in her class. The key point for this class are study hard, do all the assignments and attendance Try to do the extra credits, you will get an A in this class. She makes you to understand about this class.
The class lectures can be boring because she likes to ramble...A LOT. The midterms/final are half multiple choice half essay. It's an online textbook so it's FREE! You should read the book if you want more than a passing grade. Study hard and an A isn't too hard to get.
I took the online version of this class (also ARTS2F).I don't think I have learned anything. I earned an A in the class, but it definitely didn't grab my attention. She rarely ever gives feedback on homework assignments or the essay on the quizzes. She might be fun in an actual classroom, but her online class is iffy. Take her for an easy A!!!!!!!!
Took it online, not fun at all! Learned nothing! Her discussions were bad; she was the only one who understood what was going on in the class. Barely ever gave back scores, i never knew if i should drop. Currently, she's drowning on the workload of grading everything. Keeping track, I'm getting an A coz I worked soooo hard. Not for slackers!
Online: read, read, read, read... discussions in a forum where no one talks to each other; 11 essays(weekly) that had a Wednesday deadline; 5 quizzes of multiple choice and essay; no feedback as she is still crunching up to grade each one right now.
Catie is overall a good teacher. She is a bit confusing, but once you understand how she does her notes you will do good in the class. Go to every class. The tests are pretty easy, YOU MUST STUDY. One big paper. And 3 tests.
She is a cool professor and willing to help you. What she cover in classes tend to be on the exam so I wouldn't recommend missing any class lecture. She grade very fairly. If you have some issue talk to her and she is willing to go the distance to help you out.
She is a real bubbly, optimistic teacher. She really does care about her students and their success. She care so much that she allowed me to take my final the next quarter because of injuries. She's awesome. Pay attention, although if you don't find the subject interesting, leave. It's easy if you care about the subject, difficult if you don't.
She is very helpful and gives a lot of extra credit to help you to boost your grade. The online class might require a lot of reading and also essays. She is a very nice person and willing to help.
1st - easy online class. She seems passionate in what she teaches as the only textbook she required was a book by her(free download). Moderate/heavy reading is required for assignments/quizzes. Most work consisted of analysing art. Provides feedback, but often took a little while to score work submitted. Offers a good amount of extra credit.
She is such a sweet teacher and actually wants everyone to pass. The class seems hard but it's rly not. She's a very flexible grader. I didn't go to class several times, and still got a C. I most likely failed the final exam but still passed with a C. It's an EASY A if you put in some effort. I didn't, so I think I got the grade I deserved and more!
To be honest, her lecture is very boring. You can learn it all from her online text. Spend 2 days studying before the exam then you would do good. Try to do all the extra credit and do good on final. I was having a B before the final but I did good on the final so she generously gave me an A+ for the whole quarter.
I took the online class. I highly recommend taking the online class for ICS 5 as it's just way easier than the regular class. On the downside, the online class requires a LOT of work (2 forum posts and an essay weekly), in addition to the biweekly quizzes (multiple choice and 3 essays). Do keep up with the reading and do all the work.
This teacher was so helpful and she is very kind. I wish all teachers are more like Ms. Cadge-Moore.
ONLINE: there are 2 discussion forums and one essay each week and a multiple choice quiz and essay every other week the final is a research paper and thats basically it its an easy class with lots of extra credit but sometimes it can be hard to keep up with the discussion forums and essays every week, just dont fall behind and youll be ok
She's really nice and pretty lenient. Material is incredibly boring, but its not because of cadge-moore just generally boring material. Some in class group-work required which is a nice break from lecture. No homework. Read the textbook and the tests are a joke. Good amount of extra credit.
Professor Moore is pretty awesome. I've taken 2 art Hstry classes with her, 1 online the other in class. Barely any hw, & test are fair (she gives you the test?'s ahead of time). Prof. Moore wrote me a letter of rec 2 days before it was due. all in all Moore is easy going, sweet & bomb digity! Take Take Take :)
This is an easy class if you just keep up with all the work. I took the online class this summer and ended up with an A+. Honestly, I have never been into art, but as I did all the work on time and got a full score on my final paper, I managed to get an A+. However, I probably wasn't on a A+ level but she was just very generous to me.
too much homework assignments, and forums, pressure, learnt nothing
too much assignments, too much stress. learned nothing
The online course is very tedious. Every 2 weeks you have a total of 4 forum posts, 3 essays and 1 multiple choice quiz. The Research paper is 1400 words minimum and E.C. is 800 words minimum for 20 points. Easy class but A LOT of work. She falls really behind on grading, so there's no feedback on essays.
There is a lot of work involved but it's doable. Weekly forum posts and essays. Bi weekly quizzes with an essay portion based on the reading. One final research paper that wasn't too bad. And a lot of EC opportunities. Just do your work on time and you'll be fine.
Even though its an easy class, its very easy to fall behind due to all the work she assigns. 3-4 forum posts every week along side an essay with those. Bi-weekly are quizzes and in the quizzes are MC and Essay portion.
You do not have to be very knowledgeable on art to take this class. Class=notebook assignments + lectures. Do all the work to get an easy A. Students browse on the internet with their laptops, since the class is often un-interesting (the subject, not teacher). She also put so much stuff on the mid-term/finals to study for, which is overwhelming.
boring and rambling lectures
She is nice!!!! Take her class. A lot of chances for extra credit.
If you need ICS definitely take this one! Lectures do take long but she posts study guides online. You need to come because she sometimes gives vocab that's not posted online, and also for journal entries she collects. Easy if you don't know much about art and history too! Reading's free on her website, use it for filling out the study guide!
Catie is such a great professor! Lectures are great considering she uses a lot of pictures and videos to help the students engage in the material. Her midterms were VERY clear and nothing was a surprise. It is not easy though, so get ready to engage in the class and do a bit of work to get an A!
I took her African Art History class and she was fantastic. She's so passionate about the classes that she teaches and she tries to make it interesting for you. Readings are long, around 30-40 pages a week. That's the only flaw though. She's pretty lenient on turning in hw late, but you'll get a small penalty. Only two tests. Will help on the paper
Professor Cadge-Moore is a simple teacher with reasonable expectations. As long as you listen to her lectures and take notes, you should be able to pass the class with flying colors. As far as essays go she's a reasonable grader, and she's lenient with homework. Tests are based off of her slides, and some textbook readings.
Class is mostly short writing assignments. 2 forums and 1 writing assignment a week. 3 exams, half is multiple choice from the textbook and the other is short answer portion. Textbook is free and online. One research paper, which I enjoyed doing. Gives up to 60 points of EC. She seems like a very nice person! Easy A, but the writing was a pain.
test and exam are tough, but she's a good teacher
She is so nice!!! Gives lots of chances for students to pass and to improve their grades. Whenever I had any concerns, she was very nice and helpful to me. There are just 2 exams: midterm and a final. You need to study and remember a lot of information though. Use her study guides and make sure you know all the study slides.
Sweet woman, but lectures are really long and can get boring. Reading is a must, and you're required to memorize slides of artworks, i.e. what century, tribe, name of piece, as well as write a paragraph about its background/significance on tests. Had to memorize like 30 slides and she picks like any 4-5 slides to test you on. Worked my butt off!!
Enjoyed her class very much! Some of her lectures were interesting. She's a sweet professor! Attendance is recorded. 1 midterm + 1 Final paper + 1 Final. You NEED to read the textbook AND familiarize yourself with the Midterm + Final slideshows to do well. Offers up to 30 points EC (but i didn't do them). Pretty easy class if you like art + hist.
Im taking her summer ARTS2F course online and she is WAY too much.. 2 writing assignments each week plus you have to post to at least two forums a week. TONS of stuff she expects you to remember for the quiz, and its from a textbook she wrote herself and it's ALOT of reading. Would NOT recommend this class unless you have no life
This class is absolutely terrible! She expects you to know a lot when it comes to the midterm... writing assignments are due each week and she grades extremely harsh. You have to put in a lot of effort in order to pass the class. I advise you, do not take this class!
Great online art history professor. She is straight to the point and offers good feedback so you can improve on the next assignment.
She's a super nice professor, offers extra credit, and has a clear grading criteria. I took her class for GE and honestly being just for GE her class was so extra. Be prepared to read & learn a bunch of study slides to only be tested on 3 - 5 of them. I liked her, but it was a lot of work. I did pass though.
If you have the time and effort to work on many assignments along with tedious reading articles by her, this class is the right one for you. Even though it can be easily passable, she's not the best choice for GE unless her class is used as a last resort. With many papers, discussions and frivolous paper reports due, it's not even interesting.
RIDICULOUS amount of work. 2 weekly discussion posts (can't reestablish what's already said, but that's difficult given that the you must answer a set of questions and there are 100+ students ). 1 weekly hw. Midterm, Final, AND Term paper. No powerpoints. No reading notes. Just straight up text (have to read to do well on exams) hope she reads this
If you are a STEM major, DO NOT take. A lot of work just to read about arts you won't care about in the future.
Had to take this class of graduation requirement. I thought it would be fun and somewhat easy, I was so wrong. This prof is a hard grader and doesn't give any feedback. Her online class is set up poorly, it is hard to find necessary resources like the book and homework assignments. She doesn't offer any help. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!
Took this class for ICS credit for graduation. The level of difficulty is very high for an online art class. She requires you to read an online text which is not easily accessible. Her canvas page is poorly set up. Assigns a lot of essays, then grades them really strictly. Overall, worst class I've ever taken at De Anza.
I took Prof. Cadgemoore's online Arts 2F class. I think this class can be a little difficult if you are still learning english or struggling with it. However, this class had clear guidelines and there was nothing unusual. She graded papers fairly and always let us know when our hw and essays were due. She also offers extra credit. Great professor
Catie is the best! Her online ICS5 class is very simple and easy to pass. I am very into art so I feel like I got really into it and walked away learning a lot from her. She is the best option to take for this course at this school. Her classes fill up very quickly but she offers multiple sections for her online course.
I took ICS5 and ARTS 2F both Online from Professor Cadge-Moore and it was an easy A. Reading, 1 discussion post, and a quiz in which all answers are on Google every week. There is was a final and an essay which were both really easy! I recommend taking her to fulfill GE requirement.
Even though Catie assigned a good chunk of reading to prepare for quizzes/exams in her online ARTS 2F class, it was not needed. All of her quizzes and exams are taken directly from Google. This class is a no-brainer and you should enroll.
Geniunely one of the nicest and caring professors! Really cares about making sure students understand the material and is really passionate about the class. Quizzes every 2 weeks, but she uploads review sheets (after every lecture) and offers a study guide. Easy A for a GE too.
2 forum posts a week and one module activity based on the lectures. Lectures can be around 30 minutes a week, but they're actually interesting. She's very sweet and I learned a lot of cool information about art in her online class. Wish more online classes were like this!!! TAKE HER IF YOU NEED TO FULFILL THE ART REQUIREMENT!
I have been de Anna's student since 2015 and never had a better instructor for online. Highly recommend her class. She is caring and will help you to get A for your GE. Great GPA boost!
Professor Cadge-Moore cares for her students; she was always available to answer my questions during office hours and was quick to respond to online questions; if you sit in class, follow lectures, and do the homework you will do just fine; exams are based on the homework and she solves the problems in class; she gives extra credit; she is awesome
Easiest online class I've ever taken. Great for knocking off the GE for Art and boosting your GPA!
Very easy A. Took this class online and it was a breeze. 10 quizzes and 2 exams. The class is worth 100 points total. All questions multiple choice and can be found on quizlet or course hero. Highly recommend taking online! Easy Art GE requirement class. Finished the class in less than a month. You're Welcome!
Prepare to ready 50-70 pages of the book each week.I am a biology major and I took this class for GE purpose and based on the reviews of how it is low maintenance and the answers are online. I must tell you the answers are absolutely not online and they are from the textbook which SHE WROTE AND PUBLISHED. If you're an art major take the class
Great class, great teacher. Do the readings and particapte in the diccussions and you will do fine. The final and midterms are not hard, as long as you take notes on the readings. She provided chapter notes, that tell you what to note down. Shes very caring, so dont be afraid to contact her.
I dont understand her ratings, it doesnt seem like its accurate. I will tell you, shes a hard grader. You need to do the extra credit to get an A. She grades so slow. Classes are almost finished but shes still grading week 8 assignments. But other than that she replies fast. But you can notice how she has favoritisms in class. But do ur best.
All the positive reviews are fake, worst class I have ever taken at De Anza College. She is the toughest grader I have ever seen, and you have to do extra credits to get an A. Do not take her class, unless you are a Hardcore artistic fan. You would have to spend at least 10-15 hours on her material every week.
I agree with that student who said all the good review are fake!!! This professor is a very tough grader, she is the author of the book material, the discrimination contents through all the chapters. If English is not your first language, DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. SHE has time essay, which allows you to write four essays in 100 minutes.
I agree with other people, most of the positive comments are fake. I was going thru the comments realized that there were 12 positive feedback made on the same day 02/25/2019, perhaps to make the rating better. You gonna have to write 10 Essays and involve in 22 discussions, research paper, midterm and a final all are graded critically. Do not take
I took her online class and she gave a lot of homeworks also weird grading. This art class do writing more than my english class and she is the hardest grader I have ever taken. Final paper with 1400 words about art! If you not good at writing and don't have lots of time to do your homework, I don't recommend her!
I took this class for an easy A and while it wasn't hard it was super time consuming. A lot of writing each week and on exams. She offers extra credit and grades fairly so its not too hard to get an A if you're willing to write for hours. Take for GPA boost but you'll need to work for it
Quite active for an online instructor. So much reading and writing. Very time consuming. Timed essays for midterm and final. Have to work super hard to get A. Not the best materials to learn from. It feels like taking 2 courses when you take her online course. I got an A but it was so so so difficult. I am an Art major
Get ready to read a lot from the textbook & those chapters are LOOONG. Her tests are super hard, she makes you write a 1400 word final essay, daily homework, and replying to classmates. I took it online & had to change it from a letter grade to pass/no pass. She does try her best to help you pass but its still too hard.
Two discussions a week along with two more writing assignments. Around 1500-2000 words a week if you want good grades. 500 for each of the two writing assignments. And around 500 for the discussions. So yea, her class is pretty heavy on the writing. Also a 1400 word final paper on an artist. Overall not the hardest class but is kinda time consuming
Took her online class thinking it was gonna be an easy GE fill out. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! All these reviews are probably her signing up to make her class seem easy. IF you want an easy GE to take another teacher because this one is the most useless class of all time. She literally has her own textbook and expects students to try their hardest.
Very heavy on writing. I think she made me write more than my English classes here at De Anza. If you are slow at reading or can't just pull words out of nowhere. Do not take her. Especially if this is not your only class in the quarter.
She's a great teacher and replies to emails really fast. If you are an international student I would not recommend taking her since a lot of the topics. I'd say about 2-3 hours of work a week if you want to get an A. IMPORTANT: I do not recommend taking her course if English isn't your 2nd language. Alot of the terms and History will be tough.
Each week you get 2-3 assignments. Read a chapter from the online textbook, answer questions in a discussion with other students. Super easy to do in an hour. She only puts in your grade near the end of the quarter. Super kind and answers emails quick.
Very simple class for me- read the chapters from her textbook, and participate in the weekly discussions. There were also 2 projects and an option for extra credit project (did not do this one). She is very responsive, and understanding. I had to turn in my project another way and she was super nice about it and very helpful. Recommend!
Her class is hard. She does not record lectures but provide some videos, photos, articles she found on the net and grade by discussion. I can tell she is very knowledgable but not a good class to take. I still manage to get A+ w/ two extra credit papers but not the best option if you just need a GE class in ARTS. I took it because AA req.
Catie's class is challenging, but engaging if you put in the work. No lectures recorded, but supplementary materials are provided. Leveraging tools like unstuck AI helped me ace the course despite the rigor.
Loved this prof and class. You need to write a lot, research a lot for weekly discussions, but it's not hard work. Easy ways to get 20p extra credit. 2 project per quarter, both on creative side and can be done in 1 day. Well organized, the prof gives clear instructions and feedback.
easy ass class. techically hybrid but you don't gotta show up in person - lectures are useless anyways. the class is just weekly discussion posts and 2 projects pretty much. takes maybe like 2 hours a week max b/c the textbook is optional.
Awhile I did have fun learning and engaging in this class. I even managed to do well in class discussions, along with the mid and final essays. However there's 1 major flaw, finishing grading the results, she got all of the assignments graded like both essays and discussion 1-4. Unfortunately she didn't finish grading discussion 5-11 after finals.
Enjoyed the class. Every week there were readings/videos, 2-3 discussions that you'd do your own research for, & then responding to peers. Midterm & final were both the same: planning your own hypothetical exhibit. Museum report was also available for extra credit. Loved the prof
