Every incoming freshman should take this class. Somehow he takes a class of five hundred and makes it seem like a small group of people, and you can really learn about sociology. Very interesting materials used, at least while i was in the class

challenging, yet enjoyable; CB's presentations evoke a type of thinking unfamiliar to most people. he is remarkably helpful in and out of class and has really set the standard for large lecture setting presentations at this institution.

he's a really nice guy, his tests were kinda hard--they didn't seem to fit in with the readings.

He is a great teacher, really funny. if you pay attention in class you'll understand the concepts, reading isn't necessary but it is helpful. reading is hard but going to class helps you understand the material.

This guy is awesome! He's funny and quirky! The class itself is very interesting, although the tests (which are multiple choice) are very difficult. You get all the questions (minus the answers) the class before the exam, and there's always a help session. If you work in groups, it's not so bad.

this class was really enjoyable, its a lot less stressing then chemistry and biology. it kept me awake in the morning, and kept me involved. as a freshman the group projects helped me to make new friends

He is a very cool man, very prepared and knows what he is talking about which is helpful when listening in class. He tries to keep things interesting and plays cool music. If you dont read the books you better pay attention in class so you can grasp the concepts.

Great professor, tests aren't that hard seeming he give you the exact questions before the exam. Plays music before class to wake everyone up and get you motivated. Great professor to take this class with

Peters is a groovy guy who is actually interested in the material he teaches, knows HOW to teach, and cares about his students. Furthermore, he encourages THINKING *pause for shock effect*, which is refreshing to encounter in the URI sociology department.

AWESOME. Will make you think. If you don't like to think, don't take it. A really nice guy who cares about his subject...so a bit out of place here at URI. GO to review sessions, take notes, and work in groups. TAKE THIS CLASS if you are smart and cool. The end.

Best facil hair of any professor on campus! take his class just for the mustache!

This class isnt that bad if you go to the lectures, review sessions and listen to what he is saying! if you dont pay attention in class, you could get confused...great guy

C.B. is the man!!! His funky Nietzsche moustache gives him secret teaching powers. A very fun prof, and not too demanding.

I am just starten the class but to me he seems like a reallie good teacher. he knows how to keep a class moving and definitly not monotone, he uses a lot of expressions. and it lookslike its going to be af un class.. but the tests might be somewhat hard because you need to think in a different perspective.

I dont even have him for a real class and you cna tell he's amazing. Very helpful in URI 101 coursework and advising and doesnt make us do any of the stupi crap all the other classes are doing, like the four house alcohol surveys.

CP is the man. do all the reading, but ESPECIALLY show up to the exam review sessions. He gives you all the questions, discusses them, and in some cases, blatently gives you the answers. wordddddddddd

An amazing teacher.......I cant even describe how much he loves helping everybody understand. Go to the study sessions and do your extra credit. All the material is extremely interesting to read! AMAZING TEACHER

GREAT TEACHER!!!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Go to class its interesting, read, and go to the study sessions and he gives the answers and help a lot and you will be all set. he gives extra credit too. if you fail its because you dont try. if u start off good u r guarenteed an A. if you start okay u can easily bring it to a B if not an A.

He is such a good teacher...Im a freshman and he was the only teacher that I actually liked my first semester! He helps you with the tests and give extra credit...all you have to do is try and you will be just fine...totally take CB!

Cb is a great teacher, but his tests are really hard.

stash is the best teacher.. his tests are so easy bc he gives you the questions for the test, and lets you use them the day of the test, so all you have to do is look up the answers in the books, and he teaches really well, so you dont even have to read. just take notes

Hands down the best teacher for Sociology 100. Peters is clear and concise with subject matter and he gives plenty of opportunity to do well, extra credit and many other things. Make sure you do the hmwk and the reading and youre guaranteed to do well :)

He really is a good professor. Plays music everyday to start and end class. Really tries to help his students by giving out a review sheet with the questions that are on the exam this way you can prep yourself. Then if you wrote notes on the review sheet he lets you use it for the actual exam. The review sessions also def help!

Fantastic teacher. Quizes are pretty tough; long, complex questions but if you study the review questions you should do fine. Overall highly recomended.

This guy is hilarious. It's like going to an hour of standup. The class is huge but it doesn't matter the way he teaches.

This class was easy as long as you pay attention and take good notes. You get the questions before each exam and can bring the sheet with you to the exam. It is a huge lecture, so you don't have to go, but there are required questions that sometimes you have to hand in for a grade. Some of the exams are group exams. a little boring at times.

I thought the class was hard!! Lots of exams though. and he offers chances to get extra credit too

I loved this class, he makes it really interesting. He goes out of his way to make sure each and every question on his exams are fair, and always adds points to them. Anyone can get an A as long as you go to class and take notes.

This is one of the best teachers you can get for freshman year. This guy is the man. He has music playing when you walk in, and makes the class enjoyable. He gives you the questions before the tests so you can go over them and study and he offers extra credit. Very helpful and understanding.

Nice guy really funny...class is easy you get points for going. Tests are hard but he gives most of the questions beforehand so if u find smart people near u to study with ur good.

Easily one of the best teachers I have had in my academic career. I had him freshman year and absolutely LOVED him! He is so well organized and can make you feel like you are the only person sitting in a class of more than 100.He helped me with a project that wasn't even for his class,he is just THE BEST! NOTHING but GREAT things to say about him!!

Easily one of the best teachers ever. He actually cares about his students. He gives you the exam the night before you take it so you can discuss it with people--don't be fooled though.. his tests are still hard.

Don't be scared by the class size - this is a great class... surprisingly, one of my favorites. C.B. is awesome. It's definitely not easy, but if you do the reading, study, and go to the help sessions, it'll be fine. Plus, he always gives extra credit and second chances. good stuff!

C.B is one of the best professors at this school. He is always willing to help, and always answers emails. He does everything he can to help his students do well. This is a great class and although you may not be required to take it, if you could have C.B i would recommend everyone to take it!

He's a good Guy. It's a bit annoying if you don't have the same beliefs as him, But he is a good teacher. Be prepared to read the book a lot, and the tests are kinda difficult. He gives a crazy amount of Extra Credit though, which is sweet.

He is a great professor. A very smart man, who is extremely helpful and makes class fun. He can have hard exams (papers) but it helps you through them and is very east with grading. The material may be hard but he definitely makes it worth it.

Great Prof. loves to talk and make his student think outside the box. All exams were take home...but make no mistake, they were extremely hard. I learned so much from this class.

Professor Peters is AMAZING! I went into his class having little understanding of the social theory of Marx, etc. He makes you understand the material. His teaching is outside the box. Take home exams for every test: they are difficult, but he rewards strong efforts! He is extremely intelligent. Take any SOC class with him you can!

best teacher at uri. class is mostly discussion. he's very well prepared and goes out of his way to find interesting outside resources. this class is better if everyone shows up because its discussion. cheap books. lenient due dates and grading.

Best Professor I have had at URI. Awesome, light-hearted, caring guy. Loves what he does and students can definitely tell. Makes class fun and entertaining while actually making you think.

Provided new and interesting examples. Was funny but never offended anyone. Provided help 24/7, could always contact him or the student teachers. Take this class and go to the help seshions!

CBP is a great professor! He's very easy going and I enjoyed attending his class. He always made the class laugh. If you go to all the classes, you will be fine for the exams. He's a great person.

Most influencial professor ever!

One of the few professors that takes you into the world of sociology. There is a lot of reading but the books as well as the plays are worth reading. A lot of papers but nothing hard, no exams and is very lineant on when to hand in his responses. By far the best sociology professor I have had, to the point he made me like sociology again.

I took many of his sociology courses because he was the best professor i ever encountered and i was a psychology major and HDF minor, so i really didn't need to. GREAT professor, TAKE ANYTHING HE OFFERS you'll enjoy it!

This class was truly great, you can tell he enjoys his job as he makes his students enjoying his teaching. This class makes you change your perspective on things and it's truly revelatory of everyday life. Assignments weren't difficult it was just a matter of being disciplined enough to turn them in since he was so lenient about due dates. Great!

Very easy to talk to, I really enjoy taking a class from him.

I'm currently taking this course and it is fairly easy. The exams are multiple choice, and only 12 questions but he usually gives you an answer or two. I htink if you pay attention in class you should get an A or B easily. Not hard at all and his class is actually fun. Definitely recommended.

nicest man alive!!!!!!!! he's funny in a corny way but he is very helpful keeps class interesting and goes at a good pace with the books we have to read he gives out about 4 or 5 exams that are only 12 questions usually with 1 or 2 bonus questions and go to his extra help study meetings before the exams where he will literally give you the answers

Hes an awesome teacher. Hes very funny and the course work is interesting. You definitely need to attend class almost every day but its bearable because hes a cool guy. The tests are actually difficult because you need to do a lot of critical thinking but he holds review sessions and gives out questions that will be on the test days prior to help.

I definitely recommend taking soc 100! This professor is super humorous and is constantly making the students laugh. He is intelligent by making his classes exciting, hes nice and lastly always gives his students opportunities to improve their grades. His tests are a little challenging but its an interesting course overall to take.

It is not mandatory to go to this class because it's a 500 person class, however it really helps to go so that you can understand the material for the tests. It's not an extremely difficult class but it's not very easy either; be sure to read the books he assigns you.

Wonderful professor. Learned a lot from his class. I will miss his teaching style.
