I have had hime for 4 different accounting classes and would take more from him if I needed to. Listen to the lecture, ask questions if you don't understand something and show up every day (lots of extra credit for perfect attendance).

Cecil is a great teacher. He put alot of time and effort into his classes and it shows. He's got his own ACG book that is alot cheaper than the hard cover. If you put forth an effort in his class he will do what he can to help you pass.Highly Recommend

financial accounting is hard no matter what, but he is soo willing to help anyone who asks. his assingments are killer and take hours, but if you do them then you should pull atleast a B, even tho the tests are fair.

Published his own text that is comprehensive yet concise - excellent. He is quick but he does show you what finished looks like. Show up, take notes, and provide your best work - he deserves it. He keeps it simple and interesting. You will work hard but you will know accounting. Excellent professor.

Cecil is a little out there, and you will DROWN in his HW (No joke, I'm talking 8 hours a week AT LEAST) but you will eventually learn. Gives a couple of take home tests, too. I'd recommend.

Mr. Battiste was very helpful. Before I took his Managerial Accounting class, I wasn't expecting much assistance. I had taken this course prevoiusly with another professor who was as rude as they come, (sorry, can't remember her exact name.) Mr. Battiste was very helpful, easy to understand, and always there for you. HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED.

Good teacher, good guy, tries hard to make you learn. I hated accounting at the beginning of the year but learned a lot more than I expected. The tests are not hard but you do have to study. The assignments are fair but take time to finish.

If your looking for a get-by class, curves, and easy tests, dont take him. If you there to learn something and work for it, then I highly recommend. Will incourage you to study. His textbook is much clearer, cheaper than official textbooks. Homework is long but very useful and Test are fair. Very helpful and clear. I learned more than expected.

Cecile is a very direct teacher. He tells you in the beginning that his class is hard, but your grade is fair. Although I got an A, I worked for it! I learned a ton of info, and highly recommend him. But he is not a cake walk, you take him to LEARN! His personal text is cheap, and much more direct than the standard text. He eliminated the fluff.

Professor Battiste will ensure understanding of assignments. He is extremely fair in grading. Just do the work assigned to be able to comprehend topics discussed.

You read the chapter, take a 2 answer quiz [just for extra points and to ensure you are reading the material] that same day he goes over the contents of the chapter. Next class you do the hw IN CLASS where you are ENCOURAGED to work together. Tests cover ONLY 2chapters!

Honesty, terrible teacher! I've takent his class before and he's the worst of all my previous teacher. Only take him if ACG is your MAJOR!!! He makes you learn all this extra stuff you don't even need. This class will be your life in order to get a B!

he is very helpful if the student wants his help. he is nice but i dont find his teaching style interesting. does not give any extra credit or study guides. has a short quiz before every handout and a total of i think 4 or 5 quizes. the book is cheap but not easy to understand but is a requirement.

Cecil is a great teacher. If you need structure and organization - he's your teacher! He knows what he's talking about and will help anyone that asks. He is crystal clear in his examples and even throws in some humor (albeit, it's somewhat dry) in his late night classes. Textbook is only $5. Take him - you'll be glad you did.

Great professor. The book costs $5 which saved me $100 right there. All you have to do is do the homework and ask questions. He will not give EC or curves so don't take him if you don't wanna study. I learned a lot, I am ready for UCF now.

This was the easiest freaking class I have ever taken. You must be retarded if you can't pull off at least a B in this class. I mean, I got an A and studied for around 20 minutes before each test. Test questions are very close to the assignments he gives, assignments aren't graded, and the book costs $5.

The format is exactly the same but with different numbers plugged in. Do the work...pass the class. It's that simple.

Very good teacher. He's very knowledgable in the subject and makes the class interesting. The class is a little hard, but if you put in the effort it's easy. He tells you from the beginning what he expects, and this isn't pre-school. You're in college to learn the material. I learned a lot in his classes and would take him again if I could.

THE most awesome professor ever. He's hilarious and tries really hard to help you understand the material. It's not extremely easy but it's not that hard if you work a little. He doesn't drop tests or curve grades. He gives you his expectations upfront. Book is about $5. Cecil is awesome. I highly recommend him!

Professor Battiste is one of the best teachers I have ever had and I've had many good ones at VCC and UCF. His $5 book is excellent. I appreciate the fact that he cares about the cost of the materials. Most importantly, I learned a lot. I will take him again next semester. Highly recommended. He is also quite funny, if that matters.

Class is definitely difficult and you must be willing to learn and study. However, Cecil makes it very clear what will be required and what is expected from the beginning. All in all, I'm glad I took this class, and would recommend it to anyone who actually wants to learn the subject.

Prof. Battiste is a great teacher. The people that don't like him want credit for the class but don't want to do the work. He weeds people like that out because he doesn't give away grades. He explains the material fine but you have to study and listen. The $8 book is awesome. I'm taking him again this session. He cares if you do.

Everyone who says he is hard or not a good teacher and doesn't explain the material clearly didn't try. He goes over the material, gives at least two class periods to do the homework, and answers all questions. His tests are exactly like the assigments. Pay attention, do your work, and you will get a good grade! Taking him again this semester.

Professor Battiste is not as bad as everyone says. He explains the material at each opening of the chapter and gives about 2 or 3 class days to do work and ask questions. It is mostly class time but he always encourages students to ask questions. He is very polite and very helpful. His tests are exactly as his assignments. I highly recommend him.

You work for the grade - no extra credit, make up tests or grading on a curve. Text is super cheap, & there's PLENTY of time to get the material down. You read the unit, get an easy quiz, do another unit & quiz, have a week (or more) to review. The exams are right off the assignments. No surprises. Do the work ASK QUESTIONS and you should pass.

I took the 6 weeks summer course. It was very intense. Absolutely must attend class because each class is one lesson. Tests were all at the testing center except for one. Every class there is a quiz/written assignment. It's not an easy class and you have to read the txt at home to understand. Not easy but it's quick and painless.

If you are willing to show up, prepare for class,work about 8 hours a week outside of class, and do the assigned activities, you will make an A

I'm taking him right now for Managerial Accounting, and I think he's great. He explains the concepts very well and the problems in the book correlates directly with what you are learning. If you read the material, do the work, and study even just a little you should do well. I recommend taking him if you actually want to learn something.

This is not an easy class. Unless you have time to spend on his class and only his class don't take him.

Don't listen to the negative comments. You have to read the material and come to class prepared. If you don't do that then don't complain about the teacher. I like him because his book is cheap and the assignments match up to what is expected on the tests. That is as fair as it gets. If you study you will learn and if not you fail.

He's very nice and does try to help. His classes are easy if you actually give a damn. If you don't care to take some time to read the material and study, then you won't do well. Most of his classes are simple steps and math. He does go out of his way to help accomodate as long as it's reasonable. His teaching method does not involve hand holding.

The format of his class is CRYSTAL clear, you know exactly what you are going to do each day. You are expected to read the material and learn it. If you have questions he is always there to help, but will not hold you hand. You have to put forth an effort to pass but its def not impossible.Good teacher, wrote text..CHEAP and CLEAR to understand.

Cecil is a great professor. You will actually LEARN the material for this class. It was challenging but very worth it. He wrote his own textbook so it will cost you 9$ which is great! His exams are just like the classwork so you are never blindsided. He is dorky but funny. Got an A and felt great about it because I know I earned it. Great Class.

Cecil is a straight up teacher. Honest grader, Always willing to help with any questions. But he gives you the grade YOU earn. Lots of new concepts to learn so you will have to read the entire book. If not you will fail. Gives 4 test and final for summer class. Good Luck!

Cecil is an amazing professor! His textbook is filled with useful information and the syllabus is right on point. He is very straight forward about what he expects from day one. Study hard and work well with others in class and you'll receive a wonderful grade.

Easy A if YOU STUDY AND READ! this is not an easy class, but his work in class is all in groups and is worth 30% of ur grade. His test are just like the assigsment, just make sure to read the chapter! His book is understable and cheap!!!

Cecil is the best teacher I've had at VC. He is quirky and entertaining! If you have any question he would be more than happy to answer them. Just do your hw and the in class assignments because they are VERY SIMILAR to the test.

Take this class if you have to take Prin of Fin'l or Prin of Mgmt Acctg. I am taking him right now for Mgmt Acctg and had him for Fin'l Acctg. Yes, the book costs $9 and you will learn if you study and come to class and you will fail if you don't. That simple.

He is a great teacher. His book is very cheap i think it was $10 and he wrote it himself. The book seriously has the test in it. He answers all your questions. You take a quiz on each section but you work with a partner and you can use the book. There are 4 exams that aren't that hard as long as you read the sections which aren't long.

Cecil is a great professor. He gets you prepared for what college is going to be like at UCF or any other major college. You will have to learn the material on your own. Come to class having read the book, ask questions, do the practice problems in the book, and you will do great. I have an A in the class so far. Definitely taking him for ACG 2071

If you need hand holding and expect to not put effort into learning the material then he is not the teacher for you. Great professor who knows how to explain things in a easy to understand way. Super cheap and helpful book. You know exactly what to expect on the tests. Taking him again for managerial accounting.

I took a hybrid online/in class 8 week summer course. He writes his own book and its very easy to read. His tests are mixed between the in class quizes (sometimes take home) and book questions. Great teacher, very nice guy and easily understandable.

Professor Battiste is a very good professor to take. He's funny and he makes class interesting. He explains everything very well in his powerpoints, lectures, and book. Study and do the assignments in the book!

He is a very helpful teacher but never tells you what your actual grade is. He gives you back all of your quizzes and test which is very helpful but alot of his things are very unorganized. He never tells you how to calculate your grade. This class is very straight forward but you MUST study and attend class to pass.

Do the assignments for each unit and understand & you will pass his tests. I found the content challenging but not enough to make me not take him twice. Ask questions during lectures. No extra credit. Come to class. Work with a partner almost every class to take quizzes and do in-class assignments. His lectures are entertaining & make sense.

Professor is very strict, does not tolerate unprofessional behavior. He knows so much that sometimes even he gets confused. Whatever you do, READ THE BOOK!…try to understand as much as you can and you'll be alright. Very difficult class if you don't pay attention, do your homework!

He was a great teacher. The subject material is not easy so you need to be on top of the assignments but he is very helpful and eager to assit you. He's a little weird but I liked him. He also doesn't have you buy a book, he has one that he wrote himself which was pretty nice.

The most straight forward professor that I have ever had. He tells you how it is and although he teaches, most of the class is depended upon how hard you study and actually do the assignments which are not mandatory.

Professor Battiste makes it really clear since the first class I quote " If you are not ready to read handouts of 20-15 pages long for each chapter, show up for class, and work on your assignments you won't pass this class" And I think its only Fair. I am not 247 study person but if you ask questions , take time to do the work. YOU ARE GOOD TO GO!

Great teacher. Very fair. Course materials are free. He goes out of his way to help you. His classes (I took him for Fin Acctg and Managerial Acctg) are hard but fair. If you want an easy grade don't take him. I took him 2 years ago and I am at UF now and I am doing fine. If you want to learn accounting take Battiste.

Professor Battiste is extremely helpful if you show genuine interest and ask questions in class. He will meet you more than halfway if you take his class seriously. Granted, I have a good understanding of accounting but there aren't many Professors that I like as a person. Battiste is very witty and extremely sarcastic. Not an easy A type of class.

Take Battiste for ACG 2021 and ACG 2071 if you are going to UCF and majoring in Acctg or Finance. He is hard but you will learn alot.

I saw a lot of salty reviews here, so I figured I'd give my input. Your tests dictate whether you pass or not, but he's very fair, a great professor, and the assignments help you understand and practice for the 4 tests. He'll answer your questions, but you should have an idea of the material first. It's a tough subject but I'm glad I took Cecil.

Not easy but you will learn. 4 tests and one final. The tests are based on the assignments. A little EC. I went to his office for help. he knows his stuff. It is effort. The subject is hard but that is expected. Fair, funny, makes you earn it.

I took Professor Battiste fro ACG 2021. The course uses My Accounting Lab which I really liked. It took me on average about two and a half hours per chapter to do the homework. The material is hard but if you do the homework and go to class you should be okay. I really liked the stuff we learned about the stock market.

Great teacher who cares about learning. I took him because a friend recommended him and I do not regret it. I learned way more than i thought I would and earned my grade. He is fair. I took him again for Managerial accounting and he made the material clear and easy to follow. You have to be in class but that is expected in a class this hard.

Professor Battiste is a great teacher. He cares about getting you ready for the Real World above all else. You will work for your grade but you will learn a lot too. There are 4 tests and you get one "mulligan" which means you can retake one test and he will count the highest score.

Took for 2021 & 2071. Quirky sense humor but i honestly enjoyed it. He could use a little work on explaining stuff in a simpler fashion, i think because he used to be a CPA it all seems simple to him lol. Honestly really cool guy though and if you truly study the homework and use the "help me solve this" you WILL do well on the tests even w.o. book

This was my first online class with Prof Battiste, and he was great. Very quick to respond to questions, and adjust grades when necessary. This class was easy as long as you read, and did the assignments.

Battiste cares about learning and that is why some students rate him lower. If you want an easy A look elsewhere. If are willing to think and try take Battiste. He will get you ready for UCF. As far as lectures, yes, they are short, that is because the class is flipped so I had to be prepared for class. I am taking him again for Manager Acctg.

Battiste is a good teacher if you make an effort. I liked the set up of the class and the textbook was good. The homework didn't take that long the tests were fair. I learned a lot and will take him again next session. No gifts. You have to earn your grade but that is to be expected.

Prof Cecil was one of the best professors I had at Valencia. I was lazy and he doesn't accept that I actually failed his class the first time I took him but took him again and now I am about to get my MBA I graduate in May. He made me learn it. He forced me to stop being lazy and start applying myself.

This professor honestly might be one of the best professors ive had at Valencia. With that given you do have to keep up with the workload, but if you do it is rewarding. I found the professor to be very fair. I had him for both financial and managerial accounting and did very well and learned alot of valuable material.

His assignments were organized and laid out for the term, so I knew what to expect before starting. Unfortunately, he taught me literally nothing. Everything I learned in that class was self taught using the book. If asked a question, he refers you back to the book. Two tests have to be taken on campus. Not a terrible professor though.

Battiste is a great teacher. He's fair. Yeah, there is work to do but its accounting what do you expect? The class was hard but he prepared me for UCF and I learned.

He used My lab and Mastering for all the homework which I thought was way easier to use than other courses. His lectures can be a little all over the place but the textbook and homework prepared you for tests. Best accounting professor at valencia.

Battiste has high expectations. I liked him. I didn't come to college to not learn. I'n going to use this stuff when I graduate. It is a hard class but he explained it and showed us what to do. Don't miss class.

Prof B. is a good guy who expects a lot of people but that is because he cares and wants to get you ready. I had him for two classes at Valencia. I worked hard to pass but it paid off when I got to UCF I'm graduating in December. Take him.

Professor is a very interesting and cool professor. He makes the material very understandable but the way he presents the course is a little unorganized. Lots of writing all over the board and only screenshots of the book. There aren't really clear things to write in your notes but you should experience his teaching style to see if it fits you.

I took Battiste for three classes while I was at Valencia (at UCF now). If you have questions he sets up a zoom meeting. The tests were pretty much what I did in the assignments. He responds to emails quickly. He was better as an in class teacher because I learned it quicker after the stuff we did in class. Great professor.

If you do WHATEVER you can, you could get at least a B. Many assignments you can check your answers(not cheating btw) so it's 100% every time.

This professor is GREAT. He is very passionate! So be prepared for a lot of information and participation. The class requires effort but the professor is flexible, respectful, caring and awkwardly funny. He will even do your taxes for free if you're tax season.
