She can't explain simple things right even when the whole class disagreed with her. The class is just too easy.

The ultimate example of her inferiority was laughing at this account of black guy getting ran down by a guy at his job. She is too european to get american culture.

Mrs. Davila is not a good teacher at all. She humiliates her students in front of other people. She gives us too much lab work aside from the work that she makes us do out of the 3 books we were assigned to get for her class. She is very rude, pointless, she yells at the class a lot, no manners, and all she ever thinks about is herself.

Easy class!! Lotz of quizes not much in class work, but she is extremely rude, races and annoying. The class is not hard as long as you do ur work. I got an A in her class, but u don't learn much from her.

My class had 4 people and got dismissed half way through the semester. I'm not even sure she was my teacher, maybe she got married and changed her name?? Anyways, I never though English could be such a magical journey like the magic schoolbus. I felt like each week was a new adventure, like a movie narrated by Morgan Freeman, I'd recommend to all!

Do NOT take this class. Rude and directions to assignments are unclear. Gives pointless assignments but you are still graded for. Dumb way of grading essays and other papers, and she treats the class as if we were back in highschool.(She grades for attendance which is ridiculous) Would not recommend.

If you want a teacher that will help you when you need it I suggest you DONT take this class then because you will be met with sarcasm and attitude from her 24/7! Overall the class shouldnt be hard but this professor makes it near impossible to pass 1/10.

Whatever you do, don't take this class. Not only is she incredibly rude, but she cannot teach. The essay rubrics are so confusing, and her feedback is terrible and unhelpful. She also marks you down if you walk in a minute late. If you like keeping your sanity, do not take her.

Let me be honest this teacher was so confusing and hard. For your own sake don't take care. No matter how hard you work on your essay or on your discussion answers she always tries to show you where you failed. It's very hard to maintain a good grade at least a B in her class. All my other classes A except hers. Choose someone else! High Recommend!

Don't take this professor, she would get so annoyed when no one participate in class and there's so much reading involved. She's very confusing and essay are worth 50% of your grade. She not organize and she would throw assignments to you whenever she wants to.

I do not recommend this professor at all; She is very rude and made me feel miserable in class. For example, I was insulted for making a mistake in discussing something in class. I will never forget that incident of hers, but overall I learned how to write a paper at a college level.

Overall just very rude and has a lot of attitude towards students. Doesn't understand that all students don't have access to the same materials and demands that all of her class requirements are met. It's very hard to listen to the teacher talk and lecture.

for english 151rw its required you buy her book and its 75 bucks. shes incredibly condescending, her tone and cadence demands you to feel smaller than her. Nothing in her book is written by her, its all printed papers from online. if youre looking to actually learn something from english, dont join. its an easy class, especially if you participate

This professor made English harder than it should be. She never has clear plan and often changes her mind when teaching. She does not read any of the essays but adds notes saying information is missing even though it is clearly there. Every time you ask her a question, she snaps at you and is extremely rude when talking to you. Don't take her class

It's almost like she enjoys failing her students. Try your best to write your essays with the nonexistent rubric, because if you slip up she doesn't give any partial credit. Her emails are so incoherent it felt like English was her second language. 50% of our class dropped and the class average was a D. Unbelievably disappointing.

I taken her class during my first year and to be honest, I REALLY REALLY REALLY HATE HER. She will mark you absent even if you have a VAILD REASON and it also AFFECT YOUR GRADE. Not only that, she also makes your write a lot of essays. She's also rude to students and she doesn't offer extra credit if you miss an assignment.

This Teacher doesn't accept late work even if you have a valid reason, she's also the type to assign homework on holidays, she acts like it's a high school class and we aren't all adults who have our own lives and situations going on. 0/10 would not take her class again. The class is not hard, It's the teacher who ruins it.

I REALLY REALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL. She was very rude and stingy towards her students and when I took her class during the pandemic. What she only did was humiliate and castigate students if they made a mistake. It was like a real nightmare in paradise. So much so, that I have traumatic experience with this professor.

I am currently taking her class and fully regretting it, can't drop the class because i won't get my money back and honestly so disappointed. Davila is not lenient & understanding at all. She will put you on the spot when you get something wrong. asked for her help and put my paper up in front of everyone saying this is the wrong way. I hate her!

Always vague in instructions and consistently condescending. Usually has typos in slides, emails and comments which is pretty ironic. Gives little to no feedback, often leaving replies such as "3 & 4 are wrong", doesn't read comments, ignored my emails and messages on Canvas as well. Did not provide a chance revise any work.

Avoid taking Professor Davila's English class at Ohlone! She shows little interest in assignments and provides minimal feedback, making it hard to improve. DO NOT take this class! I seriously regret taking this course with this professor. I am currently taking this class, hoping to improve on my writing and reading fluency skills. Also treats her students like elementary students despite being so rude to the first time English students. The way she grades work is very confusing and vague.

UNCLEAR GRADING RUBRIC. Diff # of points taken off for relatively the same errors. Makes you feel stupid (not even in the motivating way) for asking valid questions & for genuinely trying to meet her unclear expectations. Final essay graded in a rush, every student got a B no matter the quality.

This class was awful. She would leave comments asking for examples of things that were clearly stated in the next sentence. People I knew in the class would submit assignments that weren't related to the prompt and get a 90-100%, but I would do everything she asked and get a 50-60%. Picks favorites and pick on certain students the whole semester

This professor is realllly really mean and is not immersive to study with. Grades harshly and unfairly on assignments. Would not recommend, unless you want to receive a reallly bad grade for the semester and don't care about your GPA❌

I signed up on here JUST to rate her because her class was that awful. She was one of the rudest teachers i've ever met. She doesn't teach but rather expects you to know it, She repeatedly shamed people for not knowing an answer. Her grading system is also terrible and doesn't seem to follow it at all. Absolutely awful would never recommend.

If you're good in English classes & only here fulfilling GEs, you should be fine but be cautious jic. Grading criteria nonexistent, cmts. on assignments often made no sense (she can't follow her own assignment directions), & literally didn't have class last 3 weeks of sem. to help w/ our final paper as we did "not have time", make it make sense...

worst teacher ever. if you care about your mental health do not take her class. gave me a 0/100 for a summary essay 1-24 and her reasoning was all materials aren't posted. YOU ASKED FOR A SUMMARY ESSAY AND I GAVE IT WDYM.

dropped her class last spring bc grading criteria was NON EXISTENT, she's VERY unclear + disorganized, her version of criticism is saying "its wrong redo it" and hoping that the paper will come back with full marks.
