OMG! It is impossible to not pass her class with an A+++++. You won't really learn anything but it is a great GPA booster. Shes pretty nice, but sometimes can be weird. TAKE HER!!!
All the tests are done on this online thing and there are like 2 quizzes off a video. You get 100 pts of EC opportunity. If you don't get an 'A' in your class, then you're shouldn't be in school.

I honestly didnt even feel like i took sociology. You go to class, talk and leave. Teacher is a scatter brain, but its the easiest A ive ever gotten.
An incredibly easy class, easiest A ever. Grades on a point system. Go to class, take notes, listen to lectures, do well on the test. Gives a lot of extra credit opportunities so take advantage of them. Took her in Winter, had 4 tests, and a group research paper. A very easy class!

class overall is ok. it is really easy: there are tests which are on line-u can take pratice quizzes online whenever which are the exact tests, EC , and a couple movies. ez stuff, but shes very un-organized,random, can be out of control. so its overall easy, but there is a research paper that u can BS but its still a pain. final ez if u study.

I don't know about that last rating...but everything else is true. If you want that perfect class where you can get an A and not learn anything or try or show up...this is it. She have a lot of those A's where you don't have to show up any more or pass the final, which is total crap (they all went to women) but it's still really easy to get an A.

Ms. Bell is a very confused lady... she gets lost during her lectures and is not sure what she is talking about. I did not learna single thing in her class. Barely showed up for class and got C's on all the tests. Still end up getting an A. Take her if you want the easiest A youv'e ever got, not if you want to learn.she has a lot of EZ extra credit
Take this class if you want the easiest A in your entire life. I get lost in her lectures and I always ditch class early. I wasn't wild on the group project we had to do. If want some harder class, look elsewhere.
Prof. Bell is a superb instructor. She knows sociology like "the back of her hand". She'll lead a horse to water, but she won't make it drink". So do your work, stop complaining, attend class, and read the text! You'll be fine.
She's not confused. She's just lost. The only real work you do in that class is take an online test, which is exactly the same as the practace test. So basically the answers are avaliable before each test. And she does give out random A's for some reason. If she doesn't get in trouble for not teaching it should be for that.
Easiest class ever known to mankind. Up to 20% extra credit, ridiculous class and easiest ever. She's really nice and sweet though but she's just lost and I don't really think she knows what she's teaching. take it if u just want an A but if you really want to learn Soc get a different teacher

I didn't do anything throughout the whole class other than the tons of extra credit that she gives. I thought I had a D in the class, but it turns out I had a B. And after getting some extra points on the final, I ended up with an A in the class. You could stay @ home and read the book, but sometimes she has class assignments (But rarely).
She's retarded and hard. Do not take her. I've warned you. I'm taking her for summer session. She told us that she used to be easy but she's gonna be hard from now on due to numerous complaints from former students who complainted that they didn't learn anything. She's hard AND unorganized. DONT TAKE THIS TEACHER!! thats the best advice anyone can ever get about this teacher. She has no clue what shes doing. Shes unorganized and always changes her mind. Her test are online and you think thats going to be easier. but its 100 questions and you have 60 min to complete them. Its not an easy class when you have such a unorganized teacher.
The worst teacher I have had, EVER. She does not know what she is doing and I bet if she took one of her tests that she claims is so easy, she would fail. She does not enjoy helping the students at all. She's a crazy lady and basically preaches the whole class, very biased. She also puts down guys the entire time and says girls are golddiggers.

Ms. Bell is very disorganized and gets distracted very easily. She gobbles up BS everybody feeds her. Tons of extra credit is given out making it nearly impossible to not get an A. The book she uses is pretty absurd at times too; very bias. Bright people will get extremely frustrated in this class. I had to walk out a couple times bc I swore I was losing brain cells listening to the nonsense.

HORRIBLE! I received a "D" in the class, then had to go to academic affairs to change it to a "B," which is still not the grade I deserve. She doesn't know how to calculate grades (my friends got screwed up too). Easiness is a 3 based on what your grade may be because its a 50/50 chance whether or not she calculates your grade correctly. She sux!

She had a very long drive every morning, which made us start class late very frequently. The majority of her testing and homework was done through the computer. Our largest assignment in class was that we were supposed to watch a movie in class and answer some questions on it... and We never saw the video. I do not like Group Work to much now.

i was taking this class during summer session but had to drop it because she does not know how to teach, first of all shes all over the place, she preaches instead of teaching, gives 100 question tests and an hour or less to do it!!!...im sorry but thats impossible, I DONT RECOMMENED HER AT ALL!!she is very rude..DO NOT TAKE HER!!
Very disorganized, doesn't cover most of the material in her lectures. Very biased- the class is basically more about learning about her opinions than what is on the test. I find it very hard to learn from her, simply because she has no clue how to teach. She clearly does not know what she is doing. Horrible.

She ist the worst teacher I have ever had. Whoever she likes gets good grades. She can't keep her religion out of the classroom and people who don't share her opinions will get worse grades. Was a hard class but if you have the time to read 30-40 pages a week and understand them then you will get an A. I failed and got D's on every test, got an A on the east project and got an A in the class. Shes a **** during the class but not when giving grades.

She's really slow... Doesn't understand the subject at all. If you print out her powerpoint notes and memorize them, you will get an A. In other words, the book is useless. And don't ask her questions, because she doesn't know what she's talking about.
it was a fun and quick class! she's not too bad...lectures are so so, the quiz's are easy and 1st day of attendance earns you points! but i'll have to agree, dont bother asking questions!!

Horribke. There's a 50/50 chance she'll screw up your grade badly or give you an A+. She messed mine up and gave me a D. I had to argue my way to a B because of her stupidity. Bad lectures, no substance, naive and unfair. Do not take her unless you're willing to take that 50/50 chance.
I really don't believe she understands what she is teaching, yet she seems to really enjoy the material. She used to use powerpoint, but this time she isn't. I'm guessing she was accused of not knowing what she is teaching. That still holds true. Doesn't answer questions well, oblivious to disruptive students, dumb, and gullible. Passable class.

She is a very nice lady and will help you pass the class if you ask for help, but it's hard to get an A because you never really know where you stand in the class. She makes it very difficult to get an A, (alot of foot work). This is my major and I love this subject, but she made it very subjective to her views, especially when it comes to gender. Definitely has deep issues involving men. Also she times her exams (100 ?'s in 60min.)Her class sucks, I just read the book & blocked out her rambling diatribes.

I learned a lot in this class, and she was very helpful. She gives a progress report so YOU KNOW WHERE YOU STAND!!! Some people know they're failing, because they don't do what they should do. Just don't take her class, if you don't want to read the book and do the assignments!
Need an A to get into college nursing, don't pick her class! Her expectations for an A is unfair. You can't lose more than 70pts. Yet there are 8 assignments each worth 50 pts and a final worth 100 pts! The hardest assignments are the two film quizes worth 50 pt each, taken right after the film. Can't use notes. Extra credit? 200q for 10pts.
Her Class was fun! She gave us a Syllabus, and told us what to expect. She stays on the internet. She uses Moodle to put her notes onLine. I liked her class ebcause I had to work, and I need notes to study. Thanks miss bell!
This was the worst experience with a college class ever. Prof. Bell constantly goes off on endless tangents, and does not clearly explain the concepts. Her tests are common sense, don't bother buying or renting the book. Prof. Bell tends to forget a lot of things, so it would be good to keep every test.

Such a nice lady, and so funny!! She does go off on tangents but we still take notes every class. The study guide online has the same questions as the test so the tests are pretty easy. The research paper is probably the hardest part but it's a group assignment so it's not that bad. But I like this teacher
MS. Bell is a very very special person. Her Quiz(5) are T/F easy 50 questions straight out of the book. Final 100 questions it will either be multiple choice or T/F. One research paper (group work) worth 100pts. Lecture well good luck! the only reason people show up to class is to get participation points.

Professor Bell is an intelligent person, has a PhD. She does go off on a tangent. Grades tests really fast. Patient, caring, but not firm. Some students were annoying and disturbing. Easy class, lots of definitions and theories.
Just no. She can't spell, off on too many tangents, and gives a lot of inaccurate information. No book, so everythings off lecture notes. Lectures are mainly definitions, and tests are examples of the definitions. If you can't put 2 and 2 together, don't take this class. Very unclear about the final project. Frustrating just thinking about it :(

I liked Professor Bell. She gave really good comments on my work and her grading scale was explained. Class discussions were always on points and participation was very important. Professor Bell was a very nice teacher and I would recommend her class.
Ms. Bell was a great teacher for sociology. Overall easy class with four tests, a final, and one essay. She offers a lot of extra credit and i finished with a 101 in the class. The tests are from the powerpoints but some questions are from the book.
i love her class and i would love to take her class anytime. She is a real gem and she knows exactly what she is talking about. She has a special characteristic trait in teaching that shows that each and everytime I enter her class room, I am new to sociology, but professor bell is certainly a person who I highly respect and I cant wait to see her.

I've taken her class multiple times and I've learned a lot in all of them. She cares about her students and her students' learning. She also attempts to get to know everyone and promote unison for the whole class.
Prof Bell is a very nice professor. I learned a lot during her lectures. She posts everything on canvas so you can just review the topics there. There is a research paper but it is not that hard.
She was an okay Sociology professor. Took her for my Human Sexuality class, Shes great and she cares but shes constantly getting off topic and does not stick to what we're supposed to be learning about. Their was a group project in my class which I HATE because it's a research project that has nothing to do with the class.

She is a very caring and understanding professor. Everything is based off the lecture and online textbook which she gives you the cite for. Just show up and study the study guides and you will pass. She tends to forget things easily but is always willing to help with any problem that you have. Tests are easy.
She is not the best professor, but not the worst. Doesnt have a clear grading criteria. During lectures, she completely goes off topic and doesnt cover exactly whats on the PowerPoint. Shes funny but very distracted which makes whats on the exam confusing. Exams are easy as long as you completely understand the topic.
She sets her students up to fail. Her lectures and study guides have absolutely nothing to do with her test. her class is out of 150 points, which means you can do great on all assignments (4), but if you do bad on the final you will get a B in the class. You will not learn anything in this class, and you will have nothing to study. Do not take .
The class is very easy to pass. If you study the lectures and study guides you will pass the test. If you complete all the assignments and pass the final exam you will do well in the class. I would highly recommend all students to take SOC 21. You will learn a lot from this course!
I loved this class. Professor Bell was awesome. She allowed us to discuss concepts before the quiz.
Cecilia Bell is not just one of the best professors I have had, she's one of the best people I have had the fortune of meeting. She is always jovial and friendly, tailors her courses to her students, and goes out of her way to help you understand the material. Accessible outside of class, and a person you can approach with any question you have.
