EASY!!!!!

I just started the semester and I hate her! She's totally tough! One guy didn't really understand a question and she was like just try just try (all mean and stuff) and he tried and she didn't even let him finish, she was straight out said, That's wrong!

She is very clear on what she wants. If you ask for help, you will get it. She is great teacher and very understanding.

Mrs.Ornelas is a great professor. She takes her time to tell her students what their getting in her class and she goes out of her way to help them. The key is u just have to ask. If you don't ask then how is she apost to kno you need help. Over all very nice professor. EASY COURSE!

She's personally "Turned over a new leaf". She was arrogant and irritating at first, but at the end, with a little encouragement, she's seriously made me feel better about english. She is good at teaching and helping as long as you don't get on her bad side. Just be prepared for class.

Class was very easy. Grade is based on 5 essays-one being the final, 3 in class questions from reading hw, and attendence. I got an A without doing the last essay. Sometimes she can be mean, but overall she is cool-just dont get on her bad side

She is pretty funny. And maaaad hot. Foxy lady! No but seriously, try not to say something stupid to her like... There isnt much room to disagree in this class because the answers are supposed to be one way and thats it. She will only get upset if you do something stupid. So men, be careful.

In the beginning her class seems very hard; however, toward the middle near the end, she's really easy. Just do the work and go to the writing center for help(if needed) and you'll be fine. She also gives extra credits.

Must be willing to do work, do all the extra credit that she offers. Seems tuff in the begining but the class will get easier towards the end. Make sure you go to class and do all the readings and assigments. Willing to help. Go to her office hours and you will probably raise the grade on your paper. Overall good teacher.

an ok professor..just make sure your writing is up to par upon entrance into this class..there are tons of assignments and sometimes she can be just plain out mean..not highly recommended but you will learn something...

She doesn't do a lot in the class but tell you what to highlight it is pretty boring...she praises people more than others

I now understand what a thesis is and how to prove it. She helped me alot when I asked for it. Mrs. Ornales cares if the students learn unlike my last English teacher. Students who don't do well in her class usually don't keep up with the work or they are lazy and don't try.

I'm a junior now and couln't believe Mrs. O's ratings. Students seem to be bitter when they do not get the grade they want. She was awsome, and yah she expected more from me than any of my other teachers, but I learned more from her than anyone else, too.

at first it seemed really hard but as long as u go 2 class and write the 3 essays and 1 in class essay and if u do good on those you dont need 2 take the final! great professor and she really cares!

Failed the first essay and got A's on the rest. Just write how she wants you to and you will do fine because she cares about the students and helps a lot. the text is interesting to write essays on. Do the extra credit and passing is easy...and you may not even have to take the final!!!

Wonderful eperience, really great professors. She really shows passion for her teaching, her class was demanding but in the end you really become a better writer. If I have the chance to take her again I DEFINATLEY will. Just do as she asks and you will be okay. She is willing to help you and gives alot of feedback

Mrs. O is a really good teacher. She really cares about her students. She has the best stories. Very pleasant and very helpful.

Great class. grade is based strictly on essays. don't be afraid to ask questions. she's very helpful. easy A!!..if you do exactly what she says.

She is a good teachr but very, very strict. The class is somewhat difficult but not so bad. She is also somewhat of a hard grader but is good when it comes to helping u out.

She's very helpful. The class is based on 3 essays and is out of 100 points. She gives out almost 20 pts in extra credit! If you actually work hard on your papers (go to her office hours) you will do fine. I really don't think she's mean at all and I've learned a lot from her critique. This is definitely a class you can't skip without losing pts!

She was the best CSUF professor I ever had because I actually learned how to write an essay. She is tough and doesn't like it when students won't take responsibility for their own learning. This isn't high school but in group work I read a lot of junky essays from other students who either had no skills or didn't care to try and write a good essay.

Can be misread and demotivating but the class is super easy with tons of extra credit. Her office hours saved my grade, half the class didn't have to take the final because they were happy with their grades

Tells everybody you'll fail your first essay, and probably true. Very hard grader, but offers alot of extra credit so you can get an A. knows alot about writing and always willing to help. she gets nicer throughout the semester, just dont give attitude. overall very fun/easygoing class! only 3 essays to write! no busy work

Her class was extremely easy. The only reason students in my class had a problem with her was because she didn't put up with any of their crap. Which she shouldn't have to, this isn't high school, she isn't your babysitter. You write four essays and only use three for your portfolio. No bust work and plenty of conference time. The class is easy.

this teacher can seem strict at point or up tight but ig you get to know her or you participate in her class shell lossen up. she doesnt like distractions very much. and her hole goal is to puch you to pass the class. email her about the homework or go to her office hours she loves that. :) do the work and you'll do fine.

She's an amazing teacher. Ornelas knows how you need to write in order to pass the class. Her class is fun, but when she means business, you better listen. Great professor!

This class is fairly easy if you put effort into it. If you are lazy or don't try hard, this class may be difficult. The class consists of mainly working on 3-4 essays that are based on assigned readings. You are given a lot of time to work on the essays and she helps you through them. She can seem unorganized at times, but she's a good teacher.

She's very disorganized and always change her syllabus. The class was very easy, but you have to do the work. Do the reading and answer questions in class and you will get points. Attendance is a must to get the extra credits. She gives out plenty of extra credits. I got an A and dont need to go to final!!!!

Prof. Ornelas is great! I learned a lot from her class! She gives out a ton of extra credit and she really wants everyone to learn to write well. As long ass you do the work it's an easy A and I promise you'll become a better writer and analytical reader. Take this class!

Honestly just do your work and you will pass this class! Prof Ornelas gives out tons of extra credit SO DO IT!! If you don't do your work or the extra credit that is your fault, not hers. She is very reasonable and gives you so many opportunities to earn points and pass! She is a nice person and very down to earth! also love the grading system!!

Take this class! She is a really great Professor who loves what she does! The class does have a lot of work but it is all very easy. There are also tons of extra credit opportunities to help your grade. It's impossible to get a bad grade in her class.

Professor Ornelas is really nice and the readings done for her class are really interesting. You use/read the textbook throughout the whole semester. She gives a lot of work but it isn't hard work, it's just a lot of little assignments. She gives a lot of extra credit so you have a better chance of getting an A. I got an A by doing all the work.

Prof Ornelas is really nice&if you need help just ask for it ahead of time and she'll make time for you. Honestly just make sure you do every little assignment she assigns and take advantage of all the extra credit she gives&you'll get an A. The txtbook is used thruout the whole semester so make sure you read, the excerpts are pretty interesting.

Professor Ornelas is REALLY passionate about what she teaches.. She's a tough grader but is understanding and offers up to 10 points extra credit. This class asks for a lot of your time (especially the group essay). I learned a lot from this class but I would recommend a different teacher. Good luck.

During lecture, we will discuss on the readings we were assign and she will offer extra credit that you will submit online. Also there is only four essays that she assign which were pretty easy. Overall, she was there to discuss homework and help on anything that you were not unsure.

Ornelas is a good professor. Like other comments said, she is a hard grader, but if you talk to her and be friends with her, she'll help you out a lot. She has a good heart and won't destroy your grade if she sees that you're trying. She was my favorite professor of my freshman semester. With that said, give the class the time and you will pass.
