Heisser is such a good professor. She's a kind teacher that likes to help her students do well in the class. She bases the grading on 2 in-class essays, in-class quizzes, and one multiple choice final. All of them are fairly easy if you dedicate your time to reading the textbook. Not a strict or hard teacher.

Gives 2 essay tests & mult. choice final. The 1st 2 tests are extremely long. There are 5 "short" answer questions that really have to be a couple paragraphs each and that 1 long essay. 1 test can take up 1 big blue book. The only good thing is that she gives you a list of essays to choose from before the test & you could do whichever 1 you want.

Her lectures I found to be very engaging, they were long, but she repeated main points often and I just took notes while she was talking. If you want someone who cares about history, she's your professor.

I took her online History course and professor Heisser was the worst professor I've ever taken. Barely any content in the class. doesn't grade any assignment that's not auto graded until the class is already over. Uses tons of emojis that confuse everyone and is not good at helping students. Overall would not take her again or recommend to anyone.

Absolutely amazing Professor. Teaching style is a little out dated but very passionate about teaching. everything is on paper no online assignments. Quizzes are easy just pay attention during lecture and go over the study guides she hands out and you'll get an easy A. TEXTBOOK NOT MANDATORY rarely used it since she printed everything out for us.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING fun and interactive lectures. She is very passionate about teaching. There were so many people ditching her class because it can be a little lengthy and boring to some people. BUT if you don't miss an important day, you get extra credit for just being there. just FOCUS on the study guides and you're set for success. HIGHLY RECC!!

Professor Heisser is excellent! The class itself definitely requires a lot of time dedication, but she's very considerate and tries to avoid making the class something to stress too much over. She's strict on deadlines but also gives you ample time to complete all of the work and the exams are pretty accurate to the study guide materials.

Such a caring and sweet professor. Very lecture heavy and has no assignments online, EVERYTHING is on paper. However, she gives plenty of time and warning before collection day. Not an easy class, but you'll definitely learn.

Alot of lectures and you don't have to attend but you will miss valuable information if you're absent. A lot of content to retain for the exams but if you do the assignments and study you should be okay. She's very passionate about what she's teaching which keeps it interesting. I could tell she cared about my personal success in her class.

I've never had such a disorganized professor. She spends half of the class talking about things that aren't relevant, and never tells us what is ACTUALLY going to be covered on the exam. Tons and tons of papers, 20-page "study guides", which are pointless!! Even though she collects these papers, only the exam scores are graded.

Lectures are irrelevant, only grade in the gradebook are the exams so if you were to not get a satisfactory grade on one say bye to your A. Coming from a 4.7 GPA student in high school, I thought that this would be an easy A and took it for GE credit, but it ended up being harder than my chemistry and math classes. genuinely do not take her please

I didn't enjoy this class and ended up withdrawing. Took the fully online and the structure was really hard to follow. Readings and lectures all over the place and lots of emojis in the material which made it feel chaotic. Prof is great with communication and responds quickly! Overall structure was not for me.

Takes a long time to grade; everything is done on paper, only posts a few chapters on Canvas, and has problems using Canvas.

She is a really good person, she is so nice and she cares about you, good communication, but her canvas page is so confusing, a lot of reading and she only grades the exams until the course ends. Do not take her class if you don't really like to read, a lot of homework and study guides that don't really help, hard to follow her pace

So she is very caring, but her class is not for me, she gives you pages and pages of work, you have time to do it, but it's difficult to follow up, you'll have to read like 250 pages of chapters and also buy the book, she says you need 2 books, and we never used the 2nd one (it was blue).
